IoWMIOpenBlock failed when starting window is up

I have to write code for the device driver that is need to interview some SMBios information in order to make some adjustments. I use the IoWMIOpenBlock function to access the WMI and IoWMIQueryAllData class to query the SMBios data. On Windows 7, it seems that the service is correct and the information can be queries return successfully.

However, on the other window for example POSReady, XP, this function having some problem. When the window is starting is loading the driver, the function will return the GUID not found status. However, after starting the window upwards and I have try to disable and enable the device in Device Manager, the service works well without any problem. I try to get online but it looks like that there is not a lot of information about this. And I try to use these function when AddDevice.
Can anyone help?

    Thank you

    Hi DRhatje.

Hello and I hope that your well today. Thanks for your post.

I think it's a pretty good translation, the error message I thought lie in the below knowledge base article.

The cause suggested for the error is that the IMAQ.exe is defined (by default) to boot at startup. But if you don't have a capture framer installed on the machine card then we could well see this error. The solution is to delete the exe file of the list on your system. The steps to do this is listed in the link below, but in short.

Section in the screenshot you sent me, you should be able to select the "selective startup", then go to the "Startup" tab and uncheck the IMAQBoot.exe.
If this restores the default settings on reboot, it's probably an indicator that your administrator rights on this PC are limited.
I think that a quick way to check is to go to start > run and type "regedit". It is essentially a more advanced method to handle similar settings, but if you do not have Admin on the PC rights then you would most likely be denied access. In all cases, ask one of your colleagues in COMPUTING to use their passwords and change this setting. It will get rid of this warning you are seeing until you start to use our materials of industrial Vision and need to reactivate it.

Make sure you click on 'Apply' before leaving this utility.

Why do I get "IMAQBoot.exe - Entry Point not found" error when I restart computer?

    http://digital.NI.com/public.nsf/allkb/AD70B1036D5B950B8625752400578CFE?OpenDocument

This should at least remove the error message when starting upwards.

Please let me know how you and I hope this helps!

  • Failed to start windows recovery

Compaq cq56-115dx. This is my sencond attempt to try to do a system restore with the HP recovery discs, I just got. Recovery starts with a message "loading files". Then, I get a message "starting windows." And, that's all. Two hours later the windows icon is always on the screen and nothing else happens. I tried several times and each time it hangs on the windows splash screen. For information on the first original attempt to perform the recovery, I was actually quite successful and made it through all three discs. I got a message to restart the computer to complete the installation. When I did the reboot I got an error message that windows cannot restart and I needed to redo the installation. I don't remember the exact wording. I guess I could have gotten a bad file or something and frustrated to lose several hours, I started the second recovery attempt. Now, as mentioned, I'm just hung up on the 'starting windows' screen Before the takeover, the computer was running. Now it won't start, message "windows couldn't start.

I removed the battery and unplugged the computer for about 5 minutes. Tried recovery, and it does not work as it should now. Not sure why it works now, but he did.  I tried at least six times before that, and he continued to cling on the gray screen.

  • Satellite A210 - 1 4 frequently freezes when starting Windows 7

    Hello

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A210 - 1 4 and updated upgraded to Windows 7 later. I have a problem in which case frequently the OS crashes during startup. This often happens and happens after the text "Starting Windows" appears, but before the windows logo appears. In this case I have to press CTRL + ALT + DELETE to reset the system and bring back to life, Windows 7 starts normally after that.

I tried to reinstall Windows 7 and it still does not work. I use the 32 bit version if that makes a difference. I installed all the drivers of Toshiba using the [Toshiba Software Installer | http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/downloadDetail.jsp?soid=2475695&pf=true] and the problem still persists.

    Thanks in advance,

    Hello

Recommends checking the HARD drive first.

There is a nice tool called Drive Fitness Test which can be downloaded from some 3rd party pages.
The tool is free and helps you run HARD drive Diagnostics tests.
If the HARD drive is ok, then the next step should be checking the RAM.

Tools such as memtest86 + could be used to test the memory.

But even if there is no error, the RAM could be affected again I recommend that you test the new notebook with Rams

By the way: check if the BIOS is up to date!

  • L7680 installation fails when reinstalled windows because it needs administrator rights, but it is

I had some problems with my laptop with Windows 7, so I did a windows repair (not a clean reinstall).  Now my Officejet pro L7680 works as a printer, but many features do not work, and the HP Solution Center starts. So I tried to reinstall the center of HP solutions from the original disk, but it fails because it must be in administrator mode.  BUT IT IS IN ADMINISTRATOR MODE! I have rebooted, tried safe mode, close the printer/disable... stil can't install HP.

    Hi foxyjoe,

What was the reason behind the windows repair?

It is possible since you reinstall from scratch you have still some problems with your operating system. Follow the steps below and let me know what happens?

    First step: clear temp directory

    1. Type %temp% term or search programs and files of field
    2. Select all the files in this folder, and then press the delete key to remove. If you receive a message that the file is in use, you will need to ignore this file (s).
    3. Proceed to step 2 below

Second step: downloaded and extracted to your system:

1 download the drivers and full software features

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?OS=4063&LC=en&cc=us&DLC=en&sw_lang=&product=2512009

    2. once the download is complete, double-click the file to extract the software.

    3. when the installation window opens, press the Cancel button to stop the installation

    4. tap folder in the race or search programs and files of field

    5. Locate and open the folder starting with 7z (example: 7zS2356)

    6. right click on the folder and select copy

    7. close this window and all open windows, and then in the Middle the desktop right click your mouse and select Paste. This will move the 7z folder on your desktop.

8 open the 7z, that you just copied on your desktop

    9 open the Util folder

    10 open the CCC folder

    11. start the L4uninstall.exe

    12. once the uninstall is complete, restart the computer

    13. run disk cleanup from the tools Accessories\ system under all programs folder

    14. download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player

    http://www.Adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html

15 open the 7z folder and then double-click the Setup.exe file that will be towards the bottom of the open window. Follow the instructions on the screen to reinstall your printer.

Let me know if you are able to successfully install the software and driver and are able to print & scan?
