IrDA hotsync issue

I'm trying to hotsync a Z22 with a 32 bit Vista computer.  Due to problems with the USB driver I want to try IR Sync

I put on the computer infrared Hotsync and Hotsync on the connection manager "to infrared to a Palm PC/organizer.  When I press the icon synchronize on the Palm, the Palm says 'connection with the desktop computer using the home/cable station '.  No connection is made even if the IR port acknowledged that the device is there before I pressed Hotsync.

Strangely, if I leave the game of Palm to synchronize with IR, I can always synchronize with another computer with the cable.

Will not display on the Palm on how he tries to synchronize?

A problem solved!

When he the Z22 is configured for IR to PC sync, I was chosen the icon of synchronization in the graffiti area.  The Palm seems to be hard wired to use sync cable from this selection.

Instead, you will need to set up the app HotSync, then Select the icon in the middle of the display area.

Now that I've synchronized IR, I can start dealing with all the other problems that people worry all.

    Hello

I Don t know if it could really work but I have a theory: what happens if the Compote of the irda device has a few bug and allows the remote through?

Maybe some driver related issue but I you can try creating a few virtual agrees and affect the Irda device for the Compote. I really Don t know if it works, but you should try.

Just Google for "Virtual comport" and choose one of the first sites. There are some very good software that creates the compote and gives you the possibility to set each setting such a virtual memory agrees.

  • Portege 3940ct OS upgrade to function disabling Lan of XPSP2-Driver issues

I have canvassed all discussions on this forum (and others) and have not found a solution to my problem. But, its obvious that major thinkers on Toshiba laptop configuration problems are here. So, if there is a solution to my problem, my best shot is in this forum.

I'm pretty advanced in troubleshooting on this issue and the only thing that makes me think that there is a solution, it is it seems that others have installed XP on this unit.

    I have a ct of 3940; I upgraded from W2kPro to XPSP2;
I downloaded and installed the bios, drivers and toshiba utils for unity on the Toshiba site.

I have confirmed that all components of the system are operational. This includes a cdrom pcmcia, a network port replicator

    Everything is beautiful... EXCEPT:

    I have no network function.

Indeed, I have basically no internet communication that it works either - even through the modem. The modem composed and as soon as the provider of the Internet service provider sends a handshake of communications, Windows XP Home edition do not recognize and disconnects. (I have not tried to fax a document - but I don't think that is relevant to the problem).

Indeed, any type of network connection device, I try to install on the device, the device driver is not installed. This includes the network cards pcmcia (Wi - Fi 10/100 and base a - g) and usb based of a to g wireless adapters.

Initially, after the installation of Windows XP Home edition, I found that I could not get a connection to the local network through network port replicator.

To power on, loads WXP b/f, the network port replicator connection LEDs indicate a connection. Once expenses WXP, the port is disabled. [All other functions on the Port Replicator is operational under WXP].

After logging in to Windows XP Home edition, Windows XP Home edition detects "new hardware" and produced through the driver install process. He then began to try to install an "unknown device". Ithen reports thatit can not locate a driver, then prompt for the user at the end of the routine of material to add.

Device Manager reports several devices with yellow warning flags indicating that the device driver could not be installed.
A look at the Details tab on the "unknown device" (the tab 'network device') indicates that the driver who has a problem is 'rasirda.sys '. Device Manager will not allow the device to uninstall.

Other devices that have the yellow flag are:
    1 Toshiba FIR Port Type-D0
    2 IrDA Protocol (hidden feature)
    3 TCPIP (hidden feature)
and a network card, I try to install.

Facilities of device driver for network adapters, including the network port replicator controller (Intel 8255 x based pci Ethernet adapt (10/100) and his sister pilot), does not install (and will not uninstall until the device is removed).

A glance at the window of the administrator system "Services" shows that essentially all the services necessary to support network/internetrleated services are disabled. Dependencies show that all these services depend, directly or indirectly, on "services.exe". This service will not run, and when the service is to begin, WXP reports that the service.exe does not start the program described.

Topic 'Information System', a glance at the 'network' tab indicates that there is an adapter called "RAS Async card" disabled.

My first approach to this problem was to reinstall the update of the Toshiba driver for the controller Toshiba FIR. Nothing helps.

The next thought was simply to disable the function of TREE, but that cannot be done at the level of the bios... and well, as ambitious as I am, I didn't venture into the machine to determine if the IR controller could be disconnected or removed from the system board. [But if it is a possible solution, then I'll go...]

As noted above, the only reason for which I hope is it seems that others have run successfully of XP on the 3xxx series porteges, who, to my knowledge all have this same IR port. Also, Toshiba has even written an XP driver for the device.

What I find curious, among other things, is that Device Manager reports the Rasirda.sys device on the network adapter tab. I would have thought it would have been reported under the 'no plug and play' or the tabs 'system device. Whatever it is, it seems that Toshiba has implemented the infrared device such as a network adapter, or at least that's how WXP is grateful.

I searched the internet, on the site of Toshiba, microsoft XP, knowledge databases, Web pages etc. and did not meet all the remarkable solutions se... Although I enjoyed some of the protocols troubleshooting - not my real ambition.

Bottom line, is that I have this computer connected to the internet. With all protocols, and internet communications services disabled, even through the modem... Well, its ridiculous. I can't yet register WXP! Absurd is that! Well well its been late.

I hope someone will have a solution/workaround solution that will solve this problem.

In the meantime, I think that the next step is to start over and reinstall XP and try... again.

I'd appreciate any help that anyone can gather.

    Hello Andrew

It's always interesting that a lot of users are trying to install WXP on older models. Respect! The problem is that 3xxx Portege is not supported for Windows XP Home edition and I wonder that you have found the drivers and tools for this device. On Toshiba Europe don't here are some drivers for Windows XP Home edition and I assume you found the download of some of them on Toshiba U.S. page.
    Am I wrong?

Sorry but I have no concrete solution to your problem

Yes my E2 HotSynced fine on my old computer, no problem.

The error message, it's that there is no link.

I went to ensure that the program was looking for synchronization via USB because it's what I use, so this isn't the issue.

  • Satellite P10 824: card reader SD and IrDA doesn't work

I have a tosiba Satellite P10 824 a I don't know why I can use Infra red and sd card reader.
I installed the driver but I do not have nor why I can use.
When an sd card I can't and I can't send anything via infra red.

    Hello

    Check the Device Manager.
Are the mentioned devices properly recognized in Device Manager or there is some yellow exclamation points?
How did you install the operating system? Train the Toshiba Recovery CD or manually? This issue has been published since the first day, or you have installed any 3rd party applications?

As you can see there are a lot of questions because no one knows what you have done on your laptop. In my opinion the damaged registry entries might be a reason for these issues.

I think that you should try to remove the SD card reader and Irda device after the Restart Manager again you should auto search devices.
The drivers have to update and it should be possible to use the devices.

  • Problems HotSync - Bluetooth option missing in connections

After installing Windows 7 RC, 64-bit, I had to HotSync my Tungsten E2 with Bluetooth, rather than use the cable.  I bought and installed an Azio Bluetooth dongle (and included the Toshiba Bluetooth software) without a hitch. However, when I created my HotSync options I found that I couldn't choose Bluetooth because the option was not simply present on HotSync Manager/connections.  VERY frustrating.

Buried deep in a another thread on this forum was the solution: go to control panel | Programs, remove the Bluetooth drivers and restart.  The device is installed with the Windows drivers again.  As if by magic, the Bluetooth option appeared on the HotSync Manager Connections window and everything was good.

Of course, some computers come with the included Bluetooth option.  For those with x 64 Windows AND have the third-party Bluetooth drivers (other than Windows) AND are having HotSync problems because there is no way to activate the Bluetooth option, the hotfix may be similar - uninstall the drivers and use the native Windows drivers instead.

I suspect that this issue can come down more, that those who do not always have HotSynced with Bluetooth is now required to do it because they are moved to x 64 Vista or Windows 7.  Palm does not have this problem on one of their pages to support - that I could find.

YES!  It worked for me: "buried deep in a another thread on this forum was the solution: go to control panel | Programs, remove the Bluetooth drivers and restart.  The device is installed with the Windows drivers again.  As if by magic, the Bluetooth option appeared on the HotSync Manager Connections window and everything was good."

    THANK YOU SO MUCH!

  • Don't Palm IIIc none liked HotSync under WinME

Several years ago I was given a Palm IIIc (in his original box) which the owner no longer wanted. I installed Palm desktop on a WinME computer and had no real issues running Hotsync. I use the Palm almost exclusively to run a business application that I developed for internal use.

Recently, I decided that I should update the application (especially just the data set used, in fact, not the code itself). But I was doing mixed "cannot connect" and "lost connection" messages and now all I get "cannot establish a connection.

    A couple of other facts:

-It's been almost three years since I tried to Hotsync anything (the last time I have updated the soft, actually)

-the WinME machine had problems with hard drive and I had to reinstall the operating system in its partition (the disk is divided into several partitions, and so several logical drives)

Here's what I've tried so far:

-Reinstall Palm Desktop original. Shows HotSync icon in the taskbar and the Task Manager indicates that it is running. After pressing the Hotsync button on the cradle, however, nothing happens on WinME. After a bit the Palm IIIc beeps and shows one of his two messages

-Update Palm Desktop to version 4.14. Same (lack of) lead, even though I had to change the default of USB to serial connection before I could be certain

-unplugged the power brick and leave the cradle not powered for awhile. When it is plugged in, same result (lack of)

-install the original Palm Desktop on a second hard drive (the machine has two hard drives now, each with a copy of WinME in a logical drive.) So that only one drive is connected at a given time, however). Same result (lack of)

-reset the Palm IIIc. Same result (lack of)

-a pencil eraser new to clean the contacts of the Palm IIIc and the cradle. Gee, they are more clear now, but same result (lack of). Also, after that, I noticed that the bottom of the cradle around the Hotsync button was quite warm enough. Don't know if that was the case after any previous repair attempt.

My thoughts at the moment are running in the sense that the COM port is somehow wrong, or the serial cable does not get a correct contact with the connector on the motherboard (but he did before, so why not now?). Software, I'm not at all clear on the 'property' thing or if Hotsync really cares yet about that (I can say the name that appears under "owner" on the Palm IIIc is my first name and the first letters of my last name - do not know why the last name isn't here)

    I'm not quite of ideas:

-get a USB-serial converter and launch Palm Desktop 4.14 under WinME

-get a USB-serial converter and run some version of Palm Desktop is the best for Windows XP (I have a laptop that is running Windows XP)

-partition the hard drive of my computer (64-bit) of WinVista, install WinME in the new partition as a dual-boot option, run the original Palm Desktop using the serial port on the computer

Any thoughts on which (or quite other things) may be more likely to succeed?

It seems that I finally managed to transfer my update on my Palm 3 c application. It seems that do the same thing again and again wait something different to happen is not as crazy as some would have people think.

I have clean the contacts on the Plam 3 c and the docking station with 70% isopropyl alcohol. I saw a few recommendations for 90 to 95%, but 70% is all I had on hand. Almost the same result (lack of).

Because side PC Office wake up for a moment, even if it never got past the first step (no username never showed up, for example).

Other support button hotsync got zilch.

But I had seen this now a couple of times before. The common denominator in all cases, is that the Palm 3 c has been out of the cradle for several hours. When it is placed on the base, the first attempt to hotsync caused a reaction on the side office, but no attempt after makes.

I don't know why this might be important. As far as I know is I put the two 3 c Palm and Hotsync Manager at 9600 baud (common slower speed), the Palm 3 c out of the docking station for hours six or more, put it at left back, pressed, press the hotsync button and watched the awakening PC side and start going through her routine - and this time without stopping.

At least for a while. HotSync did not actually finish. My app has been downloaded first, but the log shows that, after that several apps integrated tried to synchronize (some did, some do not have), and after that the Palm 3 c tried to download copies of everything he had installed on the PC. He has managed to download several, but not all of them - "lost connection" again.

I love really on it, partly because I already have copies of everything. I don't like that I finally had my app downloaded update. Because I don't really have a rational explanation, I guess now I have a superstition to follow when I want to download an app!

  • Driver for wireless bridge unlimited irda cables for windows 7

The closed disc doesn't have a driver for Windows 7. Is there a driver available for this IrDA for Windows 7? I'm trying to hotsync my Palm Z22 with Windows 7 driver and Palm does not have a driver for this OS.

You will need to check with the manufacturer to see if they have written/published a Win7 driver.

  • HOTSYNC

I have an old (former reading) Palm m500

My hand has the latest info and I haven't hotsynced for a long time. When I hotsync now, how can I be sure that the most recent news of the handheld overrides and replaces what is on my computer?

This question surely date me. Please respond by email to my address [email protected] . Thank you

Hello and welcome to the Palm support community.

Please do not ask for responses to the sent private to you.  This would frustrate the purpose of the Forums, which is to help the community of users.  In addition, post your e-mail address here is bound to ask you a bunch of SPAM, because the robot programs through internet forums for email addresses.  I didn't delete it, but we recommend that you change your question to remove your e-mail address.

To change your Hotsync conduit settings, enter in Hotsync Manager by clicking once on the red and blue Hotsync icon in your tray in the bottom right of your screen (or click Start > programs > Palm/PalmOne > Hotsync Manager if it is not already done).

Select custom. Then scroll down the list of Conduits for the (s) you want to change. They must be changed at the same time by highlighting the name of conduit and selecting the change. In the next dialog box, select the Hotsync action, as you want. And then click OK.

Repeat the process for any other lines you want to change. The new settings will ONLY affect the next Hotsync operation... i. e, they will NOT become the new default settings, unless you also click on the "Set As Default"box. " If you change this setting to correct a data problem, you probably want the Conduit to return to the setting "Synchronize" by default. But if you want to permanently change the action of this conduct, you must also check the box set as default.

(Also, just about every issue under the Sun has been asked and answered here at one time or another and using the search feature would undoubtedly raise a lot of answers on how to do what you want.)  I'm saying '...)

  • Verizon Palm Centro with data block incoming picture message issue

My wife & I have Verizon Palm Centro.  We have a data block on the account that we only wanted to fuse our PDA with our phone to carry less devices.  Recently, someone she knew sent him a picture message.  She never received as to be expected since we have a block of data.  BUT now his phone constantly freezes and will not allow her to put it to sleep.  I noticed that when he behaved in this way, there are two icons triangle above the antenna meter chart, which mean the transfer of data (they go gray and then become green and grey).

To try to remedy the situation, I did a soft reset.  One more question.  Did a Hard Reset.  One more question.  She took it to the Verizon store.  They said he had no trouble finding.  Has continued to be a problem.  Then I saw on the Palm site there is an upgrade of the operating system.  Done (which includes some reset hard).  One more question.  The next day, my wife returned to the Verizon store.  This time, they saw the issue.  They said there was nothing they could do, but give him a new phone.  She brings the phone home and same problem.  I then HotSync had to get all its data back on the phone.

Now, I get a little concerned, as it has been 5 days since the beginning of the question.  As this problem happening my wife tells me of the picture message sent him these days ago.  While it's a data connection, I opened the message Centre and there is an icon of mail with arrows to move through it stay at 0%.  When that disappears, the triangle icons disappear from the graph of power antenna.

I call the technical assistance.  The person is very and said we should would never block because someone should only get this phone for data.  I explained that we wanted only to combine devices.  I explained the picture message. blah blah blah.  He then says that it is from a software on the phone.  Takes me through a bunch of read him information.  All the time that he does not believe me that it's something to do with the unrecovered MMS (which we do not want yet).  In any case, it is more than an hour on the phone with the guy.  It had Palm on instant message and at the back of their hand for me.  He then tells me to do a Hard Reset.  I told her that I've already done a lot and it was not the solution.  I had to do because it could it resolve, he said.  I did, and for the next few minutes, it doesn't lock upwards with the icons.  That is why he said it was fixed and it was something we did on the phone.  Then, he wanted to end the call.  As he was not driving, I ended the call.

Well..................  I did a restore complete everything on the phone my wife, starting by a Safe Hotsync for his calendar, list of tasks and addresses.  Then I restored one - by - one all of his requests including its Documents to go files, etc..  It took another hour +.  The phone worked ok for some time and now 1 day later... The same thing is happening again.

Is there a way to stop this madness?  Verizon can't kill what is trying to get out?  Is there something in the Palm that can kill the message?  Any help would be great.

PS Our phones have the same exact software on them with the same applications, provided with the phone and the modules provided by Verizon/Palm.  We have the same ringtones.  We have the same content of music on our MicroSD cards.  The only thing different is photos we have taken.  My phone doesn't have this problem.  The only difference is that picture stupid someone message.  Hopefully, it's not mine.  Thanks again.

Thank you very much for the reply.  After that I posted this, I contacted Verizon Technical Support.  It seems that the problem was exactly what I said it was.  There was a picture message which was held by the data block, but still somehow try to get on the phone.  I spent some time with a very competent tech person who took the time to solve the problems with me (and down tell me).  We tried to remove the block to see if the message would come through.  Still problem.  We went through all kinds of things to reprogram and realign the phone to the Verizon network.  Still problem.  Then he looked again and found a setting in the application of message for MMS messages fired automatically.  When I disabled this setting, bam message came (no picture because of the block) and the problem stopped.  I was very pleased with the help and the phone my wife is no problem.

P.S., while my wife & I have the same contacts this is a manual process to keep the same.  We have different identifiers of Palm.  Our devices are different.  The only reason why I mentioned in my original post how we hae the inforamtion even had to point out that his phone was screwing and mine was not (with essentially the same content).  Once again, thank you.  G

  • Lot of HotSync and wiped out computer info

    Hello

I just lost my Centro phone today.  I had my old Treo 650, I decided to hotsync to at least give me my agenda and past issues. The problem is that I didn't have the replacement parameters correct and wiped all my information on my office.  Is there a way I can restore my desktop settings, then when I get a new phone all will be back?

You synchronize your Treo under the same username as the centro?

Open the Palm Desktop program. On the top right, you should see your username listed. If you have more than one user name (that of your Treo) and the other of your centro, click on the username associated with your centro and check if all the information is here.

I hope that you are able to get all your info!

  • HotSync always stops to go AFTER dbfixit a repair on Palm TX 6.2.2 Windows 7

I tried to sync with bluetooth and finally managed to do it sometimes, but now he hung up once AGAIN on the Agenda when I try to sync it.

I bought bdfixit and he has set the agenda, but now it seems to be damaged again and will not sync!

What is the problem and how do I do?

Is it possible to move my stuff from Palm Desktop to Outlook or something else and change for an iPhone?

I love my Palm TX but got SO frustrated by what I experienced how it works.

Thank you for your response to me and try to help.

In fact, I went online and chatted with a Palm tech which helped a lot.

My database on the desktop computer has been altered as well. She gave good advice.

I deliberately typed in data from your handheld to the desktop version

then recorded data from the desktop to a folder outside of Palm Desktop.

Then I did a hard reset, following the instructions for this Palm.

It was really scary stuff. You lose all THE data on your handheld when you do this.

Then I went back to Palm Desktop and open pipes and configured

for "Desktop replaces handheld" this time.

Then, I made a bluetooth hotsync who worked this time (I don't know why!)

and the data are correctly on the handheld and the desktop version.

My next plan is to take my new laptop of toshiba windows 7 to my computer guy

immediately and synchronize with Outlook. I asked Palm technology

on this issue and she agreed that almost all devices will be synchronized with who and when I

move from a Palm tree to a phone or a blackberry, I will still have my data. I have to say

I don't like to give up my Plam because I've loved and lived with them successfully

for years. However, I'm afraid of losing my data after all the difficulty I had to sync

Since then, I bought a new laptop and improved everything correctly.

So far, the question of the data/dbfix is solved! Now, if I can get resolved hotsync!

Thanks again for your help and your response.

    Hello

I'm a long-time Palm enthusiast who is frustrated.  No Palm products more for me or anyone I talk to until I fix this.  Someone at Palm should pay attention to their long-standing customers.  I bought Palm trees in 2002 and 2003.

Documentation of support coming with two Treo 755 p I bought was so poor that never saw the fine print that there are three months of care, if I registered devices.  The registration page doesn't let me register.  All fields are ghosts after I put in the serial number.  I bought one in June 2008 and the other in early 2008.  If ever registered and can't get any help from Palm, now it seems.

  • Treo 680 headphones causes hotsync loop

I have a Palm Treo 680 unlocked working well until a few days ago. While listening to music with pctunes and attached headphones, pctunes locked up and hot sync began in a loop.

I searched the forum and tried the following to resolve the problem:

1 soft reset, too many times to count!

2 clean the contacts for the hotsync cable, with compressed air, then friction alcholol and q-tips.

    3. hard reset a few times first sync after resetting and finally do not sync.

All to nothing does not. Then I discovered that if I replace the headset it starts randomly hotsync loop. This leads me to believe that the problem lies in the socket for headphones rather than contacts hotsync. I can't find anything on this in the forum. Here's what happens:

If I insert and remove the helmet a couple of times, start hotsync. Of course, it cannot synchronize because it is not connected to the computer. Sometimes, after that, it will allow normal operation of the buttons, but most of the time, it freezes the screen on the hotsync with no way to get to any other functions of the phone. Because of this problem with the headphone jack, I think I'm dealing with a hardware problem and not software, but I could be wrong.

With the current hard reset I didn't do a resync with my computer, it should be all the factory without software component programs snap-in settings. I currently don't have the AT & T sim card in because the phone is unusable in this condition. I am using an old Blackberry that I hate!

I will be grateful for any help or advice anyone can offer.

There may be a problem with the microphone in the earpiece. Click on the following link for article Palm on this issue.

This usually causes the headset to fail, but it may help to solve your problem.

I would say to remove the battery and wait at least 1 minute to lower the power of the Treo. Take some alcohol to friction and cushion the plug on the headphones. Connect the headset and turn it several times and also delete and re - insert the plug several times.

If this does not resolve the problem, the Treo will need to be repaired.
