is it necessary to configure switchable graphics?

I have Del Inspiron N5520 HD4000 Intel have provided with the Intel Core i7 processor and a separate video card, the AMD Radeon HD M 7670 , the user can choose to match labour
What is the graphics processor...?

After every 3-4 minutes, a window appears and says that the application (for example xyz.dll or commandos.exe uses 3D graphics or video but is not currently associated with specific graphics processor to select a processor for the click of the application configures /)

It is necessary to associate the graphic processor for applications... or what app I associated... ???

I don't have a laptop or a PC with integrated graphics, but I think it would be wise to combine all of your games 'high end' to the dedicated graphics card. Some games low spec can be OK with the HD4000 whether Intels best integrated graphics offering. Use it with suitable games will save on power.
Most other applications, even videos should be fine with the integrated graphics card.
Once everything has been associated with the card or the HD4000 you shouldn't
have to do it again.

The link below has a number of game guides. As you can see, most of the high-end games would need all low settings to work with a decent rate (30 frames per second or more) when you use the HD 400 graphics.

    Hello

Do you mean switchable graphics AMD technology that switches between graphic internal Intel and external ATI GPU?
As far as I know that this is not supported. Only the switch between Intel <->nVidia (called optimus technology) is supported.

Graphics card: Intel Graphics HD 4000/Radeon HD Graphics 7670 M

Hello. I need a help or instructions of my situation. I have a problem, look for the switchable graphics options for my laptop. The original operating system of this is Windows 8 64-bit. I changed my operating system in Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. After you have installed the necessary drivers for my laptop, I noticed that the switchable graphics options configure is missing, even the AMD Catalyst Control Center. I installed two drivers properly after installation of Windows 7, but AMD graphics options is missing. I tried to update my driver AMD by installing the latest driver, subsequently software Catalyst through the utility of automatic detection, but after installation, my laptop screen became large, and the option "Configure Switchable Graphics", said that the driver I have installed is not compatible with my laptop. I opened the system restore back to a point where I have not installed yet. I'm not sure if I should install the AMD driver that I found here in the HP drivers. If anyone knows how I can reinstall the driver of my need of system, I would be grateful.

    Thank you

    Hello:

Because your laptop is the switchable graphics, the driver only graphics that you can use is the HP one.

I don't think that HP has linked the AMD/Intel switchable graphics driver to the correct address to the care of your laptop and driver page.

Uninstall the graphic drivers you have already installed and restart... but instead, try this one g6t-2000.

This package provides the AMD graphics driver high definition (HD) and Catalyst Control Center for models of laptop computers that are running an operating system supported. For laptops equipped with switchable graphics modes, this package contains the drivers for the two graphics (GPU). Switchable graphics allow users to switch between a graphical power mode (normally used under the power of the battery) and a mode of graphics performance. If the video output high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) is supported, this package also installs the HDMI Audio Driver.

  • Y560 switchable graphics do not work

    Hi all

I have the model of i5 y560 WITH switchable graphics, however, sometimes it does not.

Basically when I try to switch from graphics using the switch of the money up front, there is no response. I even tried to right click on desktop and try to change it using "configure switchable graphics", but there is still no response.

This happens very randomly, but usually after I wake up from sleep mode.

also, when this happens, my games tend to run at unusually low fps.

can someone tell me why this is happening?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Pavilion g6t-2000 CTO: switchable graphics in Pavilion g6

I bought this phone two or three years ago, but didn't notice this problem until a year ago. This is because I did not know what as switchable graphics were and supposed worked the map I spent an extra $ 100 for. I'm unable to use the AMD m7076HD graphic card at all. Instead I am forced to use the 4000HD Intel integrated for gaming, which is far from ideal. When I start the computer I get an error message saying that I don't have the dirvers for AMD when I left click on the desktop there is no option to configure switchable graphics, when I try to start CCC it gives me an error message saying that there are no settings to configure, when I try to change the graphic properties it only shows me that the Intel chip When I look into the setting graphic video games there is only the chip intel, and in the bios there is no fixed and switchable settings. The only way that I know that I have and AMD card in the computer is the Device Manager say. So far, I have tried several times to update the drivers for the cards and the bios of HP and just leshcat cards, repeaditly. I also took to geek team once, but the most they could do was to get CCC to open. With GTA 5 on I really want the issue to be fixed. Is there anything else I can do? I've scoured the web last year and found no other soloutions for my specific problem. If there's really nothing else I can do myself, where should I consider truly fixed. From what I've read, it seems that many other people had this problem and it never solved. I'm done with this computer and HP, I need answers quickly, or I'll just cut my losses and buy a new laptop from a brand that will sell me fully functional. Let me know if you need more info.

    Hi there @supersadness

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! It's a good place to find the help you need, so many other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff.

I understand that you have had problems with switchable graphics on your laptop. I'm happy to help you with this.

First, you talk to install several drivers for this, but in reality, if you have switchable graphics, you need just the driver on the HP site, which contains the drivers for the AMD and Intel for a switchable configuration.

Please read the following for more information on how it works.

Computers laptops HP - overview of switchable graphics or dual GPU

HP - Switchable Graphics on laptops laptops configured with Intel and ATI GPU

This should be the only driver, you must install for switchable graphics features. It will start to download on your download folder by default once you click on the link. You will then need to run to start the installation. However I would recommend uninstall video driver previous first, then by restarting and then installing this driver.

AMD graphics driver high definition (HD)

Also, here is the description of the functionality from the download page:

This package provides the AMD graphics driver high definition (HD) and Catalyst Control Center for models of laptop computers that are running an operating system supported. For laptops equipped with switchable graphics modes, this package contains the drivers for the two graphics (GPU). Switchable graphics allow users to switch between a graphical power mode (normally used under the power of the battery) and a mode of graphics performance. If the video output high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) is supported, this package also installs the HDMI Audio Driver.

Let me know if it helps.

    Hello:

There is no graphics card AMD switchable for my model, even with a BIOS update.  That is right.

Or is it still be grayed out as in the current state.  That is right. An update of the BIOS will do nothing to allow you to change the graphic memory settings.  Everything will be grayed out as before.

So if I overload a game settings, from the middle to the extreme, this means that most of the 3 GB memory graphics will be allocated to catch the game? Or even will not use the 737 MB dedicated?   The laptop will initially use all the dedicated memory.  If that wasn't enough, he will then consume the maximum (2.4 GB) memory system available and put it to the chart.

  • Switchable Graphics does not

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion g6t-2000 who has dual graphics cards.  I bought this laptop with this specific graph Radeon HD 7670 M map for use with ProPresenter 5.

However, I can see the graphic card installed in my device manager, but I can't access it from my DirectX application.  Furthermore, when I right click on the Windows desktop and select "Configure Switchable Graphics", I get an error message indicating that ' Catalyst Control Center cannot be started and that there are no configurable properties... ". »

What is the problem?  I already double checked all my drivers, BIOS, etc are up to date.

    Thank you.

    Matt

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I read your thread on your HP Pavilion Notebook g6t-2000 issues and to have with your graphics controller. Here is a link to page of the driver Hp. I recommend you to uninstall the drivers and then go to the link to install the last right of HP.

    It will be useful.

    Thank you.

  • No option switchable graphics after updating of the CCC to 13.101

    The version on my computer:

Product name: HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC

    Product number: QJ916AV

    Graphics card: Radeon 6770 m

Yesterday, I saw a forum that says updating your graphics card can solve the problems of far cry 3, so I updated my graphics card with the amd catalyst driver beta 13.

He basically updated my CCC to the latest version and also my graphics driver in Device Manager it turned Radeon 6770 m to radeon series 6700 m.

I'm not sure if my graphics card is actually changed, because this update is not directly from hp and so far it is not availible.

After the update, the CCC, I can no longer configure switchable graphics in my laptop. I want to downgrade my CCC driver and graphics to the original. I know that system restore will not work. should I uninstall AMD and then reinstall it from thishttp://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-105178-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...

If I should, y at - it a tutorial for uninstall safely, I don't want to spoil it!

NVM, you simply uninstall and reinstall, without other stuff need to worry

  • Success Story with get switchable graphics to run on Windows 10 with one to Inspiron 15r / Inspiron 7520

For background, some Dell laptops have a function where they use a low-power intel graphics card when running undemanding applications, but they spend a graphics card with high power, high power (series AMD Radeon) when demanding games is running. With the AMD/Intel version, it's a very fragile Setup and you can not download an older version of the drivers and expect to work. Dell engineers specifically design a version of intell driver installers that is compatible with this configuration.

Pilot automatic/windows updates and changes to the OS can overwrite on this delicate configuration and you are at the mercy of the people of Dell support on when you will get an updated driver. If you use just the vanilla Intel video drivers, they don't respect the will AMD to take the chart control and the AMD video card will sit unused in your laptop.

There are three parts to get Windows to use your preferred hardware driver, remove all installed software that provides drivers. This is done by uninstalling all the software that puts drivers on the hard drive. The second step is to remove all windows drivers is pegged against because Windows will not allow pilots used to be completely uninstalled. To do this put Windows in "safe mode" where it does not use most of the drivers and then uninstall and delete the driver files themselves. step final is to install your favorite drivers, the AMD and Intel video drivers in this case.

Here's how I got AMD/Intel switchable graphics to work in Windows 10:

    1. I went on the site of dell drivers with Internet Explorer (not Microsoft Edge/Google Chrome/etc) and used the detection system to recognize my laptop. Then, I downloaded the video drivers Intel and AMD for 64-bit Windows 10
    2. I uninstalled all of the AMD and Intel video drivers via the Add/Remove Programs application in Control Panel.
      1. You can search for "Remove programs" in the search box in the windows bar to get the applet in Windows 10.
      2. There are a lot of Intel drivers for things like network cards, be sure to uninstall the drivers for video cards only.
    3. I started in SafeMode Windows 10. Search for instructions on internet to find out how to enter safe mode.
    4. I opened the control panel and went to the Device Manager to remove the video drivers left on the system.
      1. I think that currently used driver files are not completely uninstalled when you uninstall the software of the driver in the usual way, we must do more.
      2. Open Device Manager (a passerby is windows key + 'x')
      3. Open graphics cards, there should be one for intel and amd.
      4. Right-click on each graphics card and choose uninstall. Then click on the option button driver remove and remove drivers
      5. reset
    5. After the reboot, check that the graphics cards in Device Manager are very generic, they say probably intel or amd.
    6. Install the device driver software intel you downloaded from dell
    7. reset
    8. Install the amd you device driver software downloaded from dell
    9. reset
    10. You should now see the option "Configure switchable graphics" If you right click on the desktop.
    11. Try to run a game that requires a bit of graphics card
    12. Open the app "Configure switchable graphics" and check that it has considered the game that you just ran and that he put it to 'high performance '.
    13. fact

Probably, you should be on a/c during all this power. I think that I heard that the switchable graphics may change if it is on battery power, not sure.

Skyrim has worked after that, as well as the intros of l4d2 ran very slowly (they are incredibly unstable when they are executed on the graphics of intel), but the application itself crashed without warning on the desk, just as he finished a solo campaign of loading for me. I suspect that it's probably more a thing of windows 10 a graphical thing and hopefully reinstall the game will fix it.

Well, my case is very simple. I just install the driver the newest Intel.com and amd.com, and everything works. I wish just that Dell can update driver Audio Conexant Audio Device.

  • Switchable Graphics does not work perfectly!

I use HP 1000-1414TX model... it has a dedicated AMD RADEON HD GPU 7450... and its integrated graphics is HD4000 by intel! .. .i have installed all the graphics driver on the official HP site... but when you run a game always show that it runs on HD4000... Although I put my laptop on the power of high performance setting and add the game file in the mood High Performance graphic Panel switchable by AMD... but its not working... all matches runs on HD4000... How to run on Radeon HD7450? need a bad solution... help me as soon as POSSIBLE!

Hi Farhat. Once installed the AMD drivers can remove the ability to configure switchable graphics. Essentially, what you must do to restore its functionality, is to use the Recovery Manager HP to the rear original drivers and then upgrade to the latest HP drivers available. I've included links to several documents to guide you through the process and provide additional details. I hope this helps, let me know.

Here is the overview of the technology.
    Switchable graphics Overview:
    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02731962

If you have the Intel + AMD configuration (which I think do you), this document will show you how to configure it.
Switchable Graphics on laptops configured with Intel and ATI GPU:

  • Pavilion dm4 (Windows 7) - Switchable Graphics is dead

    Pavilion dm4t-1100

    Windows 7

    64 bit

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 graphics card

For the past year, the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 is always on, and I'm unable to switch to the Intel HD Graphics.

If I open the Catalyst Control Center, nothing happens when I click on Power Saving GPU. In addition, Intel HD Graphics does not show as an option in the drop-down list (see below).

However, the Device Manager shows the two devices and gives me the option to disable the two:

I have a Manager friend who works on Intel graphics issues, and he advised I have download and reinstall the graphics Intel HD since the Pavilion dm4t-1100 driver. I did, and when I try to reinstall it, I have this message:

Not being able to solve this killed my battery, and I want to fix this problem before I kill another.

I read in one of them that I'm able to roll back a device driver to get this working. Is it possible for this situation? If so, which of the two devices I restore?

    Any other suggestions?

    Hello

I think that the driver you are referring to, is available for download directly from AMD, unfortunately it won't work because it will not include the required Intel gpu driver or the Catalyst Control Center custom necessary to control your switchable graphics - downloads directly from AMD are generally for machines that only has an AMD graphics chip.

If you can't find the original version of HP of the AMD software to reinstall via Recovery Manager, try to download and install the switchable graphics driver on the following link: it's of an earlier model contains the two drivers required gpu and custom CCC.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp48501-49000/sp48551.exe

When the installation is complete, restart the laptop - as I mentioned earlier, you may need to restart two times to get this to configure correctly.

    Kind regards

  • Preview of Windows 8 consumers: AMD Switchable Graphics - Unswitchable

    Hi all

I have a HP Pavilion dv6-6004tx laptop and I recently upgraded to the consumer preview Windows 8 (Build 8250). I wish that some troubleshooting those who have / are affected by this and may have found a way around it.

Insofar as the specifications of my computer is:

    Intel Core i7-2720QM

    6 GB DDR3 RAM

    64-bit operating system

    AMD Radeon HD 6700M

    Family of Intel graphics

The problem in my display drivers. Some of you may also have a Switchable Graphics feature that is installed in your computer. But for those who do not, basically, what it is is a feature that allows to switch the display adapter to a GPU to save energy to a GPU performance and vice versa.

In my case, as you can see above, the GPU performance is the Radeon 6700 M, while the GPU to save energy is the integrated Intel one. My problem with not being able to switch back and forth, as if I was able to come back on Windows 7. As it is a feature of AMD Catalyst Control Center, I searched their site and they actually have a version of supported driver for Windows 8 CP, although still in beta and sometimes glitch.

    http://support.AMD.com/us/KbArticles/pages/Windows8ConsumerPreviewDrivers.aspx

(As you can see, my model: AMD Radeon HD 6000 M Series is listed)

I rebooted after installing the control center, and a popup notifcation tells me that:

"The Catalyst Control Center is not supported by the version of the driver for your compatible graphics card. Please update your graphics driver from AMD, or activate your card AMD using the display manager. »

I found this curious at first, my model was clearly indicated. But after an inference, I realized that my computer needs to run on the Intel integrated graphics by default. This has been further strengthened when I tried to play a few games and other applications (it would be a bit rough - also experienced before when I forgot to switch on GPU performance).

The graphics card AMD Radeon used to have a mistake (the unit does not start. Code: 10) in the Manager of devices, but with a new installation of the driver got to AMD, it seems to work very well. However, my computer is still using the default Intel card, and I have no way to switch to the other GPU as catalyst will not start.

Has anyone found a way around this?

I'll give you a way to make it work!  He has listed there so many incompatibilities with the FIRST METHOD , you will not get use an Intel (less power consumption card) GPU to work after the changes! You have to wait until HP allows him to work properly or deal with the thirst for energy GPU AMD even in battery mode.

THE SECOND METHOD listed works without any problems with the compatibility of all the apps BUT it IS demand the pace and order (can be comprehensive for beginners, no worries listed below has got all the information you need to make it work)

    IF the first option:

NOTE: THIS WILL TRIGER OUTCONTROL EVENTS SO AS A PRECAUTION METHODS I RECOMMEND IN ADDITION AS WE GO STEP BY STEP _ DOWNLOAD CHROME IF RUNNING INTERNET EXPLORE (GRAPHICS CARD WORKS WITH THE GAMES BUT NOT WITH APPLICATIONS METRO THEY WON'T CRASH NOT JUST SE NOT LAUNCH)

ALL METHODS BELOW TESTED BY MYSELF AND HAVE WORKED YET MUCH INCOMPATIBILIES WILL ALWAYS USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!

I know all the games work properly battlefield 3 is yet to launch

1 AT first make sure that windows UPDATE IS SWITCH OFF or let you choose to download and install (not automatically or it will update your device (in Device Manager) without your permission and all efforts are gone!

2 uninstall AMD Catalyst "program and components" in Control Panel, and then uninstall all Intel and AMD devices in Device Manager in the control panel (unistal check pilot to pilot intel HD)

3.reboot! After the restart, download this http://www2.ati.com/drivers/hotfix/win8/amd_catalyst_win8_consumer_preview _ [rc10] .exe

    and this

    ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp53001-53500/sp53025.exe - 300 MB

    4. install sp53025.exe in windows compatibility mode 7 (it will unpack in C:/SWsetup by default)

then start the istalation make sure that u choose a "custom", THIS IS CRUCIAL - uncheck the CATALYST (check all the rest intell driver amd driver ect.) do not restart after the instalation

    5. then start the instalation of windows 8 consumer driver overview of AMD.

Uncheck everything (after that the sp53025 it will be only the AMD (check/uncheck) driver and catalyst box (check/uncheck) available) uncheck the AMD driver and install the driver CATALYST only!

Reset! Enjoy! There is no CATALYST (only preference of intel and the settings where the CATALYST should be) click the mouse but switchable graphics is now awailable LIKE THIS

Unfortunately you won't be available to choose between the INTEL and AMD! AMD now works by default

All the .exe now recognizes 6770 m

AND METRO APPS WON ' T WORK! AS internet explore will crash as you will open it

SECOND METHOD, IF THE FIRST FAILS (WHICH IS IMPOSSIBLE IF THE HANDS ARE MORE OR LESS STRAIGHT)

    IS PROVEN!

THIS METHOD EXCLUDES THE SUBWAY APPS CRASH AND ALL INCOMPATIBILITIES REST WITH ALL PROGRAMS EXECUTABLES AND GAMES!

Note: Requires knowledge to sign your own drivers, disable the application to start signing and modding some inf files.
I am not responsible for any damages that may occur. This guide is not exhaustive.

    Requirements:

    • .NET framework 3.5 - can be activated in Windows 8, in "Turn Windows features on or off".
    • Windows Driver Kit (WDK) - Can be downloaded from here
    • Configure Windows Update to only "download updates but let me choose weather to install' and hide updates from Intel and AMD. This is to prevent our updated driver by Windows.

    1. download the latest switchable graphics drivers from this site: leshcat IT blog tips & tricks: catalyst 12.3 Pre-WHQL UNIFIL for Switchable Graphics

    2. run the Setup program that will extract the content of the file, by default it will ask you to turn off "Signature enforcement of Windows", you will know that it does not work after restarting as a "Test Mode" watermark is added to the desktop, "Windows 8 preview of consumption."

    3. at this moment, do not run Setup AMD yet. We need to modify some files. By default, the driver will be extracted for "C:\Drivers\Catalyst 12.3 Pre - WHQL UNIFIL".

    4. go to this directory and open the file after "Packages\Drivers\Display\W76A_INF\C7133662.inf".

  • Switchable Graphics (AMD Radeon HD 7670) problem in Hp Pavilion g6 2305tx-windows 8.1

    Hello

I would like to draw your kind attension to this serious problem, which I do face with AMD Mobility Radeon HD7670 driver for windows 8.1

I use Hp pavilion 2305tx g6 that has double graphics. I bought it 6 months ago and it cost about 60 grand in Bangladesh.

I was using Windows 7 and everything was fine. I could play every game I want, but after upgrade to 8.1 window, I am facing this switchable graphics problem. Device manager shows that driver was installed correctly but when I go to high performance for any game, it (game) is not responding but game can start without any problem in IE graphics Intel HD 4000 I cannot use my dedicated graphics card which I bought this laptop!

Here too, no driver to blueooth. Specifically the driver Ralink RT 3290 Bluetooth. I found the driver for this hardware, but not suitable for windows 8.1. Okey BT is not a big problem, but what about the graphics driver? What is Hp? sleep? Where the drivers updated for Windows 8.1? How long I have to wait? As I brought it BDT 60 grand I have right to ask for updated driver and I want to that they as soon as POSSIBLE.

Again, I chart AMD Radeon HD 7670 in my laptop and driver is correctly installed, but every time I spend my graphics to high performance I cann't play any game. It's because I'm not have good drivers for Windows 64-bit os 8.1.

I've been looking for this driver for months, but I don't get a updated driver for AMD mobility radeon 7670.

Please, I beg you! publish drivers for windows 8.1 updated 64-bit os.

The problem is resolved. It took 6 months but in the end I finally thought to her

    Follow the steps precisely

    1. open this Pc or workstation then go to uninstall or change a program

2 appears in the list, you can see graphics driver Intel & AMD Catalyst install manager. You must uninstall both in express mode so that no other previous parameter no longer exists.

    3. Firstly, uninstall the Intel Graphics driver. If you are asked for a restart of the pc to go for it.

    4. that the list appears, you can see AMD Catalyst install manager, right click and uninstall in express mode. Uninstall all components of AMD. Restart your PC because you will be asked.

    5. go on this Pc or my PC and then drive C. open Program Files and Program Files (x 86) the two of them, if you use the 64-bit operating system. In the search box write AMD and you find some removal files remaining them all.

    6. now your PC is free of previous records and other files. Although the right, click on sign Windows and Device Manager. You'll see graphic cards and uninstall both. This step is not necessary, but just to be sure that your PC has not previously installed drivers.

    7. open your browser and download the latest graphics driver for your PC Intel. My driver was Win64_153322. Install it. If you install it correctly you're at half way through. Restart your PC, if she needs.

8 go to the AMD web site and download the latest version of the driver. To avoid the complexity best option is to download Autodetect. Because he will choose the best suitable driver for your system. The file name is amddriverdownloader.

    9. open the amddriverdownloader file and download the driver. Download will end and it will automatically start the installation. Install it in express mode. Restart your PC because you will be asked to do.

    10. I hope your driver problems will be solved. To check it out go to Device Manager and see if the drivers are installed properly. Turn on the CCC and try to play a game of High Performance. You will see that the problem is solved.

Here's how I solved my problem of graphics from AMD. I've been suffering since I installed Windows 8.1 right after being released and today 15 Jun 14, I solved the problem. I can play any game in now high performance.

If you think that my opinion is useful to you, please share it.

Please hit Kudos, if I help you!

  • Switchable graphics on Satellite L650

    Hi there everyone!

I would like to really know if Toshiba plans (I hope!) to publish an update of the Bios for the Satellite L650, enabling the switch between the graphics card discrete and that soon included in the matrix of the CPU (i5 series).

The so-called "Switchable Graphics" is already available on some Acer (Timeline X), some Asus laptop and other brands, and I'd really like to see it applied on Toshiba laptops, at the risk of increasing the autonomy of the battery (double it or even more) and are just more efficient and "greener".

The Toshiba L650 I mean should have all the necessary elements: Calpella HM55 chipset, i5 and 5650 mobility (and Windows 7).
Why not take advantage of something that can be used even on this laptop?

    Thanks to a bouquet. :)

    Hi Dany

It is user forum and nobody here knows with certainty what Toshiba will do in the future.
As far as I know Toshiba has offered some BIOS updates for all models in the past so I think this will happen for your laptop model too but what will be new in this update of the BIOS is not easy to say.

So, you have to wait and see what happens the next few months.
