However, if you had the laptop with the software installed, but no copy of Windows was included (or at the very least, the serial code), you're probably going to be GROUND. If you have the serial code and are the user registered for this number, you simply give Microsoft a call after you install so they can register as your new computer (or more precisely, your old computer with a new o/s and so new IP) now uses this serial number.
