is my l7590 a digital fax?

I plan to Comcast phone service. It is a voip (I think) transmission. They tell me that I need a ' digital Fax "to the fax pages on their"service. Can someone tell me if my Office Jet Pro L7590 is 'digital '.

edh1964, I have an answer for you. If you get a phone service VoIP, you must use a digital filter on the line (often once your service provider will provide you with them). This digital filter does not guarantee that the transmission of fax will not be interrupted, but it gives him the best conditions for success.

This is because the fax technology is not designed to be used on an internet connection, but a traditional analog phone line. A digital filter can recreate similar requirements, but may not totally remove the packet loss that is possible.

There is another thing to consider, and that there is true 'digital fax' and this is possible thanks to the support of third parties such as eFax:

  • Digital fax put in place in the web server integrated shows "invalid entry".

I have an officejet Pro 8600 more than we use fax digital network folder option with.  Our installation worked fine for several months and the other day I noticed that we receive no faxes in the network folder.  I go through the installer with the built-in web server, and when I save and test I get an error of "invalid entry".  Technical support has been absolutely no help.  Hoping that someone out there has an idea that might work.  To make matters worse, when I turn off the digital fax I get is even more print faxes.  They just disappear! Any help is appreciated.

    Hello

In Internet Explorer, open the built-in web server, click the ALT key and then click on tools on the main menu.

Click compatibility view settings, and then click the Add button.

Click Close, and then follow the fax to electronic-mail/network folder option.

    You can see any difference?

The fax is the installation program for an analogue line.

Faxes sent to the machine are not forward the email that we set up. The journal said HP Digital fax does not apply.

Is the reason why faxes are not convert e-mail due to the fact that we have an analog faxline on the machine?

It only works if the e-mail is coming to a line of digital fax?

I used the wizard to configure the receiving digital fax.  I have successfully received items.  They are sent the fax to a folder on my desktop.  However, it seems that the points are replaced when a new item comes from the same sender.  I want to keep the items and do not replace them.  Is there a setting somewhere to achieve?

    Thank you

    Hi DOCLCSW,

Yes, you are absolutely right, set the date and time is apart of the fax configuration process. I found this to validate this statement.

Step 4: set the fax date and time

Follow these steps to set or change the date and time.

    1. On the printer control panel, press the right arrow key ( ), press Setup ( ).

    2. Press the arrow down ( ), then tap preferences.

    3. Tap the Date and time: touch the top and low to set the month, day, and year and then tap done.

    4. Touch the top and low to set the time, touch done and then press the back arrow ( ) to return to the Preferences menu.

  • Digital fax on computer - when the computer is offline, what is happening to the incoming fax?

I have the HP all-in-one Officejet Pro 8600, and it is on the network.  I recently put to save incoming faxes as digital files on a computer on the network and it works perfectly when the computer is available.  My question is this: what happens to incoming, if the computer is offline or unavailable fax (as if someone shuts down the computer)?  I want to just make sure that faxes are not 'lost', and they will be printed or recoverable in some way.

    Hi Memjay,

I understand that you have an Officejet Pro 8600 that you put in place the digital archiving of faxes to a network folder, and you have just a question about it. I will do my best to answer this question for you!

If your computer shuts down, and the printer had to receive a fax while it was turned off, the printer should hold that fax in memory (can generally hold up to about 30 pages in memory) and then when your computer is back on and pull has refreshed (generally set to 5 or 10 minutes) faxes in memory should appear in the network on the computer file. This document of setting up digital fax HP to save faxes received on your computer has a before you Begin section that explains just that ideally, you want to leave the computer at any time, but once again the printer there little memory to contain faxes until the computer is back on and looking faxes again.

I hope this helps to answer your question, have a great day!

  • HP Officejet 5740: Digital Fax

Is there a way for willing coming faxes when the PC is on, but when it is off, it automatically prints the fax? (without telling the PC to do)

    Hi @vison77,

Thank you for the HP Forums. I understand that you would like to know if you can set your settings to digital fax to the fax to file, but when the PC is on you want to print (without having to say so).

I checked the settings, and it seems that you would have to change whether or not you want to print faxes. You can have the archiving of digital Fax and print faxes, or you can disable printing so that they deposit only. To sum up, you need to manually select if you want to print or not.

If I misunderstood your request in any case, let me know. If this solves the problem, please click accept button Solution below as well as others can easily find the answer.

Thanks, I look forward to hearing back on your part.

    Hello

What operating system you are using?

For Windows 7 or 8, you will need to change the sharing settings operating system.

From the control panel go to network and sharing Center.

Click on change advanced sharing settings and remember to Turn Off the Password protected sharing (will be listed under the current profile or section of all networks, depands on your operating system).

Please try these and verifier check again, if not, don't forget to specify your operating system and security software installed on your PC.

  • Digital fax with Officejet Pro 8500 wireless

I'm on Mac OS X 10.6.1 with the latest version of the drivers from HP, but I can't seem to understand how to enable digital fax. The device itself says that it must be configured on the computer.

I am hesitant to install the software from the CD the HP drivers for Snow Leopard is supposed to be most recent.

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Faxing from the Mac is not yet fully enabled on some printers in Snow Leopard.  I'm not sure of the 8500.

Try the latest drivers for HP on the site of Apple here.  If this does not work, wait for 10.6.2 - it comes out very soon.

  • Just save - unwritten - digital fax on OfficeJet Pro 8500 A909g

I have the HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 A909g. I have the HP Fax in Digital Mode defined so that incoming faxes are saved on the network folder. Currently, when a fax arrives, it prints the fax and stores a PDF version of the fax in the network share. I don't want it to do both. Just save. Do not print.

Is there a framework where we can prevent printing to save on paper (and ink)? I'd rather just browse my incoming faxes into PDF and only those that I really need to print. I like the option to turn off printing of incoming faxes and just store them on the network share.

I did... took a while, but it's very simple, then it worked. All what you need to do is:-

1 using the screen on the printer

    2. press on the key (top, middle of the screen)

    3. press on the basic Fax Setup

    4. digital fax

    5 fax print

    6. and finally click on off

THEY're as simple as that. I was looking through the settings for centuries until I stumbbled on it. The hardest part about this process for me was getting through my exchange server... quite the task.

  • OfficeJet 8500 digital fax

I know that I am dealing with some old technology here, but is there anyone who can tell me how I can configure the ability of digital fax to save incoming faxes as PDFs rather than TIFF?  I am facing an OfficeJet 8500 A909g Pro.  It works fine in all other respects, but I need the PDF format for a workflow I design.  Thanks in advance.

I'm afraid not, PDF is not an option in the files of incoming fax for the specific model.

  • Digital fax

I have the HP Officejet 8500 has 910.  I have it configured to receive faxes digitally to save any faxes that arrive while I'm out.  The problem is that if I do not change the name of previous faxes new faxes take the place of the old and delete them in the process.  Is it possible to fix this? I got a Deskjet 4500 with this backup feature, and it worked like a charm.  I had nothing to do.  She saved each fax that happened and never deleted the 'old'.

I'm not really sure what is the cause.  It is not a feature that you can enable or disable what it would change.  It should work.  There are a few things you can try to solve the problem though.  Before you begin, make sure that you don't need newspapers fax or whatever it is printed in the case where they fade from the memory of the printer.  Now that it's done, make sure that the printer firmware is up-to-date.  You will find how to check and update here.  If the firmware update does not resolve the problem, try to do a hard reset then.  The hard reset should Flash the printer memory and erase everything that is to suck in it.

    To do a hard reset:

    1. Make sure that the printer is turned on.
    2. Pull out the power cord from the printer.
    3. Pull out the power cord from the wall.
    4. Wait 30 seconds.
    5. Plug everything up and turn on the printer.

    Let me know what happens.
