  Due to virus I had to rebuild PC using the RECOVERY partition on hard drive. All windows updates have been applied to date (August 2011). Before the virus problem (July 2011) WAS able TO SELECT THE "MASTERED" OPTION WHEN YOU are GOING to USE WINDOWS TO BURN a VIRGIN DVD + r. NEW once AGAIN, this WORKED BEFORE, NOW THE MASTER OPTION IS GRAYED OUT.  I have a brand new DVD + R blank and tried several of them thinking it was the disk (I've used this same brand (magnavox) DVD + R 4 years now never this problem of the "controlled" option is grayed out.) I use the same DVD burner which came with the PC and it allowed me to select the option "Mastered" last month (July 2011). I am using Windows HomePrem 32-bit OS (originial system that came with PC and this allowed me to select the mastered option last month. I applied all the updates Win at present. I have no other problems with the PC. Once again, driving the nail: this WORKED BEFORE, last month on the exact same hardware and the software/OS (Juillet2011), then why this option appears GRAYED out now?  This question has been asked before and 'experts' simply stressed totally USELESS MS pages showing how to select either under control or direct - I DO NOT NEED THIS HELP as I ALREADY KNOW HOW TO SELECT either option and what each is for. Also the other 'fixed' DOES NOT APPLY to this situation. • VMware workstation, crashes when I try to create a new virtual machine

  I never had this problem before, but I didn't create a new virtual machine in a very long time. Last time I created one was making Workstation 9 I think. Some time after the upgrade to Workstation 10 or 8.1 of Windows Update 1 it has started.

  In 10 Workstation running on Windows 8.1, I select the file > new Virtual Machine dialog coming upwards and in a few seconds crashes of VMware workstation and closes.

  So I checked the Windows event logs and find

  Warning "VMware Workstation to function properly, must be reinstalled after the upgrade to Windows."

  So, I upgraded from 10.0.2 to 10.0.3 and it uninstalled and reinstalled but I still get this warning.

  Well, I found the problem.

  I looked in the UNK file and found a few ISO files wrongs tracks.

  I had mounted some ISO in the past and they have made the entry in this file of preferences such as "isoLocationMRUx".

  I'd change the leter this ISO file player so they could not be found as input, once I corrected the paths I can now create a new virtual machine.

  He is responsible for ion BONE the new virtual machine now.

  Method 1.
  Here's how you can solve this problem:

  a. download the latest version of Windows Live Messenger available onhttp://explore.live.com/windows-live-Messenger-XP

  b. update of Windows XP through Windows Update.

  c. go to "C:\Program Files\Windows Live" and remove the 'Messenger' folder (Note: replace 'C' with your root drive letter)

  d. go to "C:\programdata" (Note: replace 'C' with your root drive letter) and remove Windows Live install and WLInstaller, if you have a

  e. restart the PC.

  f. run the installation program that you downloaded.

  Method 2.
  If the problem persists I recommend you ask your question on the dedicated Windows Live forums.

  If you use a wireless keyboard/mouse, try switching to a wired USB keyboard and mouse.

  You can undo the last restoration of the system using: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/76256-system-restore-undo.html.  This may fix your problem with security software that has uninstalled when you did the system restore (using a date that probably existed before the installation of trend).  I don't know if it works now that you have done other things to try to reinstate the program, but it's worth a try.  I sincerely doubt that this process could help with the problem of browser (and there not so undo it reverses your efforts).

  Only trend can help you with installation problems you encounter through their program.  Perhaps it didn't uninstall completely during the restoration of the system.  Check if the trend has a removal tool and use it to uninstall the program, then try to re - install again.  If this does not work, you will need to work with their technical support to solve the problem.

  Often, a certain instability in Windows Explorer is due to the defective shell extensions and addons.
  Consider using Sysinternals Autoruns or ShellExView. Disable Add-ons and non Microsoft shell extensions and verify the behavior.  If he went, reactivate the disabled extensions/add-ons, one at a time and see if you can identify who may be liable.
