Issue of BIOS of HP P6230y

I need to enter the BIOS on a HP p6230y desktop computer, and I can't seem to find the right key to enter.  Can someone tell me what key works to access the BIOS of this exact model? I think the motherboard is an Aloe Foxxcon.

Thank you in advance for any help that you could give me.

Hello

Tap here to f10 as soon as you start the PC and you should find that the bios menu appears.

Best wishes and Merry Christmas,

  • Satellite M60 - issue of BIOS

I am the owner of a computer Toshiba Satellite M60 laptop and have problems with my driver installed, which I explained in a thread below.
(I get the message, that the driver does not work properly and I have to restart my laptop)

I thought, that the problem can be the temperature, but know I have more fans on my laptop and never more than 35 degrees hot.
Now, I read, that this problem can be a configuration issue in the BIOS and all the others, I know at the same time, who had the same problem could solve the problem by changing the graphics power (?) or something similar in the BIOS Setup. Then I checked the BIOS setup of my M60 Notebook with BIOS V 1.6 and had to realize, that the BIOS of the laptop Toshiba doesn't have anything, I can really change. This is an absolutely beginners BIOS Setup and I'm really angry about this. Is their ability to expand the possibilities of the BIOS Setup? I really had a lot of problems with this laptop since the beginning and so I know also that the standard configuration of Toshiba is not the best every time.

    Thank you.

First of all you shouldn't t mix for desktop PC BIOS and BIOS for laptops.
These options are probably available in the BIOS for desktop PC, but certainly not in the BIOS for laptops.

Computers laptop Toshiba are equipped with a different BIOS that are designed and configured especially for Toshiba laptops.
Cooling modules are controlled automatically by the BIOS, and you can't modify all the parameters that modify the cooling function.
What you can do is to change the settings in Toshiba Power Saver. All that s.

If your get some graphics driver errors, I recommend updating the BIOS and the Toshiba page graphics card driver.

In addition, you can check if the vents are not blocked and prevent air circulation.
I cleaned my fans using the compressed air jet that helped to turn out to get rid of dust and debris.

  • Issues of BIOS and HDD - Portege R830 passwords

HI - looking for advice here.

Have just updated the latest BIOS for my R830 - version 3.10 (EC version 1.20). Update went without a hitch.

My fingerprint reader is kaput - and I will travel far for a while - so need to strengthen security on the laptop - so I put a password on the HDD via BIOS of thought.

However, I'm having some problems - and would assess any help and advice.

In the BIOS tab 'Security' - I have a number of choices. Password BIOS (user and supervisor), HDD1/SSD1 password (- only user, the User Mode + Master) and TPM (on, off).

After searching for things - I think I should be leaving the password of the BIOS as "Unregistered", affecting the mode HDD1/SSD1 password user and TPM 'active '. This should then allow me 'register' a user password.

I will then record a password - enter the password - and then another window opens for typing me any re-confirmation-what I do.

But the password I use - I always get a message "passwords are not the same press ENTER to continue." Pressing continue brings me to the point in the BIOS where it says that the HDD1/SSD1 'User' password is not saved.

You have to believe me - that even if my typing is not great - I type the same passwords. I even tried different types of passwords (digits only, single letter, mix of both)-nothing helped.

I tried enable and disable TPM - again - no change.

    Any idea what's going on?

Am I being a complete numpty - and forget to do something?

I would like to know - because as it is, I'm going to travel with your laptop unprotected.

    Eeek.

    Thank you.

    Hello

I recommend that you only set the password of the BIOS.
This is the password that would initially require turning on the device.
As far as I know the unknown BIOS password cannot be deleted by any user, but only by a Toshiba ASP. So it s a security option

In addition the user password and the supervisor password can be set using the assistance of Toshiba.
Check the tools of Toshiba in all programs-> Toshiba-> Utilities-> Toshiba Assist
Here you have the tab called security

  • HP 110-194: Issue of BIOS

I am trying to load Kali Linux alongside Windows 8.1 and I know how do it.  My question is in the BIOS, there is no option to boot from the DVD before Windows.  I checked carefully, but the only options are CD or USB.  I tried USB, but failed to get the correctly loaded .iso image file.  The file is/3 GB, so a CD will not work.  Can you please give some suggestions on how to get the DVD to load everything first?

    Hi Shane,

If I understand correctly what you communicated, you do want to install RUFUS program on the USB flash drive.

You must use RUFUS to load and install the iso on the USB.

  • The issue of BIOS update

On the site of drivers Dell it says version A05 update for my system WHAT BIOS is recommended. The version on my PC is A02 so its quite a bit obsolete.

If I update my BIOS it will ruin future Windows 8.1 relocations. Because it is an OEM system, I don't have installation media... I have reinstall it from the original image. Now when I do a clean reinstall Windows 8.1 is installed and Windows Activation is done automatically. Activation is related to the BIOS.

Can you flash/update the BIOS without affecting future relocations and the current automated Windows activation method or is updated the BIOS completely ruin this method

SMI Bios stands in an EEPROM based series which also has the tag serial number and of Service and other relevant numbers as serial numbers. This information is NOT stored in the BIOS or UEFI Bios. You cannot write to the SMBIOS where the encrypted key is stored that only the manufacturer can do so. Microsoft specifies WMI as the preferred mechanism to access SMBIOS from Microsoft Windows. In UEFI information, the shell "SmbiosView" application can recover the SMBIOS data.  More recent Dells Bios should be updated through INTEL Management Engine aka BACK no longer works on UEFI-based systems.

System Management BIOS (SMBIOS) contains a lot of information.

If you open a DOS window administrative CMD aka. EXE

You can read this through WMI commands

    C:\>wmic bios get serialnumber

I suppose Yes but I'm not 100% sure and I can't comment on the HP policies which are different for different countries - the call itself could be free because HP has the number free of charge for many countries around the world. Simply contact the HP Support and discuss all the options available.

Edit - I just double checked with my resourses and what we found is that assistance chat/phone HP for class cases PCs should be free (even if your warranty period has expired).  With the warranty expired only parts or services will be paid. • Update of HP Z620 BIOS causing the disc start plu

    Dear Sir

I updated the system of workstations HP Z420/Z620 (International) BIOS to 03.69 Rev.
18 June 2014 to my windows 7 Professional. After the reboot, it could not find my boot drive. In the Bios, the order of boot to SATA drive name list is totally a mess, named as "SS", instead of SATA0, etc..

I boot from my CD of windows 7 Professional and try to fix the system, but he said something like a different type of system.

What a bad upgrade experience and please help me to recover!

P.S. This thread has been moved from workstations - Itanium-Based, hp9000, Visualize for workstations - w series, series z, legacy x and xw series. Forum Moderator - HP

Not sure what would happen when your update of the system BIOS, but the BIOS flashing can be risky, especially if you get a power disruption or during the writing of the BIOS itself, there are a few other firmware issue. For this reason I almost always perform updated the BIOS when the system is connected to the inverter to limit the outages momentary causing failures flash.

HP also have even known to release a BIOS and then remove it on their download page for undocumented reasons. These reasons may or may not be related to flash failures or other problems, we do not know, only HP really knows, but they don't say.

For your Z620, you can see the gaps in the list of the BIOS version specified in the last note of release of the BIOS itself. In fact the release notes state that you require 1.07 update to 3.52 or later and says that he must first update to 1.23 (which curiously is not included in the version below the list!).

So you SHOULD ALWAYS read the BIOS release notes. In fact, you should read all release notes of all BIOS versions available in order to make sure that you know what has changed and what prerequisites indicators exist. It's tedious but better than a flash failure.

Anyway, from the issue date BIOS, you will notice that your BIOS must be at 1.07 or later to be able to upgrade successfully to a BOS 3.05 or later version. Therefore, you should check to see what BIOS you have done and if you have < 1.07 you MUST update to the latest version of the BIOS BIOS 1.x (to 1.14 BIOS of my reasoning, because it is the most recent in the history of the versions) as it is a sine qua non.

In fact, I would update BIOS 1.14, then update a BIOS 2.08, then BIOS 2.55 before if we consider a 3.05 BIOS and more late a 3.69 BIOS updated. It is pedantic, Yes, but perhaps a bit more secure (especially if you use an inverter). I always check the version of the BIOS and BIOS (and so the BIOS settings) after each flash before jumping into the OS...

But even if you cannot start the operating system, you should be able to Flash the BIOS as follows:

    • install 7-zip on a work computer
    • Download the bios appropriate 1.14 or 3.69 for your system and save it
    • Right click the bios file saved, spxxxxx.exe, and then select < 7 - zip > < archive open >
    • Double-click the folder (not name) stated in 7 - zip file manager
    • Double-click on "bios falsh.htm" and read the "flash back" and or sections of "failsafe bootblock recovery."
    • Follow the appropriatesection of those that you just read...

Therefore, if your system messages, and you can actually get into the BIOS, use the flash BACK method. And depending on what version of BIOS your system indicates boot buring, flashing the BIOS is appropriate (if the system shows BIOS 1.14 1.x then flash, if the system indicates BIOS 3.x then flash 3.69). I hope that this will ensure that your BIOS has been flashed properly.

Once you are sure that the BIOS is the correct version and date, then look at all the parameters and, hopefully, HARD drive names are listed correctly and your boot disks/raid volume can be found.

It's also a good idea to go into the BIOS and hit < LTRC > < A >, then go in "system ID and check the entries against the labels on your machine." Pay special notice that the BuildID, SKUNumber & ProductName in BIOS match labels (because they must be correct for the HP system to work recovery discs)...

The only other thing I can think is that you had two or more HARD drive in a RAID configuration and RAID configuration somehow I messed up. If you use RAID, maybe watch the configuration by pressing CTRL + R or CTRL-C while booting. Do not change anything, because you might lose your data, just look.

If these things do not help, you will need to be very precise about what you did, what configuration you have, state that the system is and what error messages you receive. You can use a camera and post here as appropriate as someone may be able to help and take some snaps different pages problem BIOS configuration screens, configurations, error messages or other...

It is also unknown if you use an image from HP and referring to HP system recovery disks or you did (re) installed a vanila MS Win7Pro OS using a disc to install MS Win7. And write "something like a different type of system" is not as useful as the actual error message you get.

  • Can Equium P200 (PSB5E) - I update the BIOS on Windows 7?

    Hello.

My question is: how to upgrade the BIOS under Windows 7? My Bios version is 1.70, I've seen, this version 2.50 is available for download, but only under Vista.

    Can it run Windows 7?

    Hello

    First question;
Why do you update the BIOS?
    Is the reason for this?
If the laptop runs successfully a BIOS update is not necessary!

    Now back to the issue of BIOS;
Some laptops have special need BIOS for Win XP or Vista.
So if you are using XP or Vista, then you must use the BIOS that was designed for one of these windows systems on the European driver Toshiba page you can see a column of OS that provides the info for what BIOS OS is designed.

But in most cases, the BIOS is OS independent, which means that you can use it in any Windows operating system.

Simply said; If the BIOS is available for Vista, then you can only use it with Vista.
If it s independent OS, you can use it with Win 7, Vista or XP

  • Password BIOS Equium A100-338

    Hi all

First I want to say, that my problem is solved. I have the model A100 and I was very happy since February 2007 when I bought it. I'm obsessed with security, so I asked for passwords for everything: BIOS administrator BIOS, HARD drive, user and a few others :) Anyway, everything was OK until... my password wasn't working anymore. I am 100% sure of the user and admin password. So I tried to reset the BIOS and I took the battery for two days. Of course for anything ;)

So I called Toshiba support and no one very nice has said, that this laptop is raised with me, fixed, and then they will send it me free. It was only because I bought the warranty extension for three years.
Laptop is fixed and now I have problem: put passwords again or not? That is the Question!

I know that this problem is with some models more too:
Link: [errors of passwords in Toshiba laptops | http://ie.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/faq_selection.jsp?service=IE | errors of passwords]

So what happens if password will crash again? No reason? And what?
I have every time he sends to ASP and I wait three days?
I need my laptop for work as well, so maybe Toshiba can fix it * DEFINITELY * on any laptop?

    Hello

I searched in the database knwowledg mentioned Toshiba in your post above, but I didn t find all the articles on the issue of BIOS password on laptop A100.

I found a few articles on Tecra A3 or Satellite A80 and must fix it by the BIOS updated.

  • Satellite P70 - Has BIOS reflash / Wireless NIC drivers

    Hello

I currently have a few problems.

The first is that I can't get into the BIOS. To give you the full story, that I recently lowered the mark 8.1 for Windows Windows 7 and I've updated the BIOS in the process (v1.50). The system is usable, but when I restart and try and get into the BIOS I just get what looks like a line that is corrupted by the middle of the image and it just stays there.

I tried to re - flash but with the BIOS being the same version it does not.

Also I can't seem to find the wireless drivers - I've tried Realtek, Intel and the Atheros ones and none works. It could be related to the issue of BIOS, but I'm not sure.

Any ideas on how to get either in the BIOS or the fixed wireless?

    Ta!

    > Also, I can't find the wireless drivers - I've tried Realtek, Intel and the Atheros ones and none works. It could be related to the issue of BIOS, but I'm not sure.

You should go to Device Manager and should expand the area of network controller.
If the WLan driver has not been installed, you should see an unknown device or Ethernet card marked with yellow exclamation point.

To get information on the WLan module built in Notepad, you should check the PROVIDER and the DEVICE ID.
With the help of the miniPCI database shouldn't be a big problem to get the driver for this add-on.

    With regard to the BIOS:
I can't imagine that there is something wrong with the BIOS. In the event that the BIOS update procedure would fail, the laptop would not be usable.

However, BIOS problems are still serious issues and a downgrade of the BIOS can be done by the partner of service only.

I have a HP Compaq 2510p laptop that starts, displays this error message:

"Your Bios did not complete the update"

A few seconds later late in goes to the HP Invent screen. and then again the previous error message. These two screens cycle constantly and there is not only one key that I can use to access the bios settings.

Presseing F9, F10, F12 or F-everything works. No key command does not work. Can I not boot from the internal drive, CD, USB etc.

How can I regain access to this faulty machine to restore or repair the bios please?

  • HP Mini 210-3025 feeding issues its

    Hi all

This is my first post here, so please forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong section/Council.

I have a HP Mini 210-3025 AA as a Christmas gift last year of my better half, that I loved and appreciated and never encountered problems with this day (Finally, nothing that I've failed to solve anyway).

So it's almost a year now and I use it, 2 weeks ago my better half and I went to a holiday and the laptop worked perfectly before that night, and since we were leaving for 2 weeks, I removed the battery (I usually use the laptop without the battery installed in any case, just plug it into the charger) But anyway, removed battery, external mouse and removed flash drives and put in his case.

This morning after I got home, I tried to turn it on, connected outside the mouse, charger and pressed the power button, but no response... So I unplugged the charger (both supply and the laptop) and reconnected, still nothing; then decided to give the battery a go, which lead to the power led next to the plug of the charger flashes 3 times indicator of low battery. So I plugged in the charger, the red light and should be in charge, but the Start button / stop it turns not again, waited 20 minutes to try again, still nothing, tried with another charger, still nothing!

Finally I let the battery charge and it was fully charged, but now he is dead yet and I can't turn it at all! Although the battery is charged!

For a person that most people consider a "geek", I have no idea of what the exact problem is, initially I thought that it could be the power button, but when the power led blinked by pressing it stack installed earlier I ecxluded; thought it could be the charging circuit for not working after 20 minutes, but now it is fully charged, still does not!

I tried the hard reset, but it doesn't seem to change anything

I am a very careful person with my stuff, so nothing has been spilled on my laptop, or something like that, but now I have a major problem happening for obvious reasons! And it's a gift from my better half which means I want to return to work just because this isn't just a laptop to me!

    Any ideas/suggestions are appreciated.

I was not sure from your post if you had been able to reset or not.  However, thank you to try my steps even if you tried this solution in the past.

It is difficult to identify these kinds of questions.  However, I think that your motherboard may be at fault here.  I'll try to explain why.  Battery (seem to) load normally so we can assume that the AC adapter and the battery are in working condition.  However, even with a charged battery, you get no response from the laptop.  With other kinds of issues (bad BIOS, bad RAM, etc.), you will get a SHIFT CAPSLOCK or Numlock blinking code which indicates the problem.  If it was one of those pieces of equipment that has been loaded you would receive a different set of symptoms.  Unfortunately, I can't speculate on the cause of the failure.

I think your best bet is to have the laptop repaired.  You said that you have already started the process to have the laptop repaired through HP.  It is the best option in my opinion.  Just in case where you do not have information you can directly join the HP Support at 1-800-474-6836 for the United States / Canada.  Other areas will have to visit HP's Support around the world to find their contact information.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.  Enjoy the rest of your week
