I have a BB 8530 Curve. On the main screen where you will find the battery, date, time, bell sound, etc., I have 2 icons that I have no idea what they mean. One is located between the sound and the time and looks like a side of the pair of old fashioned glasses without arms. The other icon is under the signal wirelessly to the top of the right side and looks like a circle with a sign in there. No idea what these are for? Thank you.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BlackBerry 9700 - OS 6

    Hi all

Someone knows where to download the latest Blackberry 9700 OS 6?

    Thank you.

    Kind regards

    BH Yeo

    This is the official version.

    https://www.BlackBerry.com/downloads/entry.do?code=15CF76466B97264765356FCC56D801D1

Instructions for installation on ANY carrier 9700:

1 download the BONES above files to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.
    2. go in c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml." Users of Vista/Win7: in the apploader folder, simply click on "Compatibility files" to see the Vendor.xml file. Once you have that - just delete the vendor.xml file here (even if you have deleted or think that you have previously deleted in the folder) and voila, it will allow you to update the newly installed operating system!
    3. plug in the BB and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on the amount of data you need to back up and restore during the process. Once he did load the new OS, it will reboot (it may do it twice during the entire process.) You will see a black "BlackBerry" screen with a status bar for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect the PC again and run Loader.exe again, and it should load the operating system on the device.

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to download the file Word for Blackberry 9700

How to download word for blackberry 9700?

I launch Desktop Manager-> Media-> Media Manager, but it fails.   But I can't find any icon to transfer files from PC to device Backberry word.

    My Blackberry is 9700, V5.0.0.330 (Platform 5.1.0.91)

A word document is not that a media file would be my first assumption on why it would fail using the Media Manager.

Have you tried attaching the file to an e-mail and send to yourself or the document and connect your device to your PC and drag and drop into document folder in the memory of your device or media?

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry 9700 crashes a lot

My blackberry 9700 suspended began quiet often.

He also always shows full application storage memory. While my memory card offers plenty of available space.

Few people, said that the app store is in d phone memory and not the card support, however the applications I have are just whatsapp, fancy smiley, shazam, Google talk, you tube, world blackberry, bbm, blackberry travel and protect.

And other default applications such as a calculator and a manager of files etc.

That would be the reason that it works slowly or not responding sometimes? I delete log d at least 3 times a day, but the problem still persists.

    Could someone please help?

Some good advice from prince2012, but let me add a question: what OS are you running?  The "BOLD" originally shipped with OS 4 and can be updated to OS 5 (I think that these figures are correct).  However, many people have decided to spend in addition to OS 6, which is not a good idea on a 9700.  If you are currently running OS 6, I recommend you go back to OS 5.

    I hope that helps you.

    Hi guys,.

I saw a small company and goes to buy a Blackberry Bold 9700. I read a lot of forums and boards, but I have still not found an answer to the question: "is it possible to get e-mails from accounts that are not google or yahoo etc."?

I have a clean online store or the domain and so my email address is something like info @.com

I am currently using Thunderbird on my laptop to get and send e-mails via pop3/smtp.

So, it is possible to have access to e-mail via a pop3 server and send emails using smtp on a Blackberry 9700 Bold?

    Greetings,

    Marco.

Yes, you can access most of the protocols POP3 or IMAP mail server.

Is this something I need to get some additional T-Mobile service settings or do I need to load an approved t-mobile BlackBerry OS version?

It turns out that I had BlackBerry Email but not BlackBerry Internet Booster.

If the problem is now resolved.  RIM could really do with simplifying their offer, I mean that not order Internet and Email on BlackBerry in any case

  • java.io.IOException on Blackberry 9700

Hey... Uhm... When I try to use a webservice (SlackerRadio on my BlackBerry 9700), it is said it is impossible to activate due to the failure of activation of: java.io.IOException: General Socket error. How can I fix? Please and thank you

Hello and welcome to the forum of Java developers.

Before look us at your problem, it seems to me that you are not a developer of BlackBerry, but have installed the Slacker App and have problems with him?  If Yes, then you should use the Slacker support procedure (sorry I'm not aware of it), because they know how they wrote at the request and so they will have a better idea of what changes you can make to the configuration, so that it will work for you.

Let us know if you develop for BlackBerry, and then we'll try to help you.

  • Issue of transfer of Smartphones from blackBerry Bold 9700 Email

I recently transferred my data and emails from Outlook to my new Bold 9700.  Unfortunately, I used Blackberry Desktop Manager version 4.x that I used before with my old 8700 c, instead of the first update to version 5.0.  The new version of Desktop Manager apparently has an application designed to transfer all the data (all emails) from the old Blackberry to the new device.  In any case, all my PIM data transferred but only 7 days of emails (emails about 175) made the passage.  Talked with level 2 support to support Blackberry BES Office.  They said that only 14 days or 750 emails (which ever comes first) should make the transfer. They had me wipe the data off the 9700, delete my profile on the BES server, create a new profile of BES and reload everything.  Unfortunately I got the same results (and pass the next reload software hours, etc..).

The old emails are always in Outlook and on our company server.  The 9700 is set to store 6 months emails, but the Blackberry tech support people say that means 6 months in the future.

Any ideas on how to get the old emails transferred the 9700?

    Problem solved, sort of.

I had to exchange the 9700 for a new thanks to a faulty camera.

With the new 9700, I did the following:

    (1) delete my profile on the Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES).

    (2) load the latest version (5.0) of the Blackberry Desktop Manager (BDM) software on a laptop.

    (3) began the BDM software.

    (4) Switch Device Manager selected.

    (5) started the program "Switch Blackberry Devices".

    (6) connected the old BB 8700 c.

    (7) connected the new BB 9700.

    (8) follow the guests of the program.

    (9) waited 15 minutes for the old emails and PIM data to back up out of the 8700 c.

    (10) another waited 15 minutes for the old emails and data PIM to transfer the 9700.

    (11) restarted the 9700.

    (12) re-created my profile on the BES.

    (13) Ran the e-mail Setup Wizard (Setup > Setup Wizard > e-mail setup) and select the option "I want to use a professional email with BlackBerry Enterprise Server account.

    (14) entered the information on BES.

    (15) run the initialization of the enterprise activation process for about 45 minutes.

At the end of the process, I got all the 6000 + old emails entangled in dozens of customer records.  I also had all but two dozen of the hundreds of e-mails I received last week.  (I think the missing emails could have been initially sent during the outage of server last RIM Monday afternoon - Tuesday morning).

    All profile settings also transferred.

Now I can reload applications and non - 8700 c bound parameters.

  • BlackBerry smartphone Bold 9700 - no icons email

    Hello

I enjoyed my BlackBerry for about a month now... no problem! However, I don't see the messages folder. 42 messages unready I am unable to access to and I would like your help and suggestions.

    Thank you.

The first thing with any strange parasite on a BlackBerry... reboot: with the BlackBerry device powered on, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to restart.

If it is still not present:

    1. on your home screen, press Menu > SHOW ALL, so that ALL DISPLAY is checked.
    2. look in EVERY folder on your device... Applications, instant messaging, downloads, etc.
If you don't see it still, look at the Options > advanced > Applications. Do you not see it listed there?
