Issue of RP 8.1 Windows upgrade.

I currently have a Windows 8 Pro build 9200 and I heard the Preview Release v8.1 released June 26, 2013.

I intend to take a slice of this preview build, I have a few questions though:
1 will be the installation of the removal of the Preview version of all my files, apps (both modern and office) and the parameters?
2. because I have a Windows 8 Pro license, it will be eligible for the final version of the 8.1 (to be released in autumn), or I'll be forced to buy another?

I wanted to just note that I had only a Windows version 8 only language when I bought my system but then I bought a Pro license key. I know that Windows 8 facilities read product keys integrated on PC motherboards (I did a clean install of language unique to Pro, so what I did was to include a PID.txt on my installation disc Windows 8 Pro with the Pro license, which I bought). I did an upgrade.

3. the Windows 8.1 Release Preview (or final) will read the motherboard integrated unique language or key the Pro license, I bought?

Eh_bien, I intend to install the Preview Release on my primary system regardless the bugs it may contain as I assume that these bugs are not lethal enough to kill my files / system).

Thank you.

No, but you will not be able to upgrade to the final version, you have to reinstall your applications and your drivers when moving from 8.1 to 8.1 RTM overview.

2. because I have a Windows 8 Pro license, it will be eligible for the final version of the 8.1 (to be released in autumn), or I'll be forced to buy another?

Yes, it will be.

Editions Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro, upgrade, OEM System builder retail or preloaded on a new computer will be eligible for the 8.1 update.

3. the Windows 8.1 Release Preview (or final) will read the motherboard integrated unique language or key the Pro license, I bought?

Yes, since its simply upgrading the existing edition 8.1, it will be delivered by the Windows store for free, so we should not have a product key, just a version 8 existing RTM of Windows on the machine.

Eh_bien, I intend to install the Preview Release on my primary system regardless the bugs it may contain as I assume that these bugs are not lethal enough to kill my files / system).

I strongly suggest that install you it on a partition or in a virtual machine for evaluation purposes. Do not install on your production system. As stated, you can make a place in the upgrade to the final version. Additional resources below:

Note: Tests of Windows 8.1 Preview (warning)

It was clear that test the preview Windows 8.1 will not as simple and involve certain prerequisites.

Do not install it on a machine or production start-up disk.

Microsoft Senior Product Marketing Manager Michael Niehaus reiterated this message in the RT in the session of the company Tuesday. When the preview 8.1 is available, Windows 8 and Windows RT users will receive a notification from Windows Update. This update will trigger the new bits will appear in the Windows store, where potential testers will be able to read the description and choose to install or not.

Once the final versions of Windows 8.1 are available, after their release to manufacturing, those who have downloaded the preview will get the same Windows Update and the Windows Store notification. While their data and their accounts will be kept if and when they choose to install version 8.1 free, final, all their applications must be reinstalled, said Niehaus.

Even if the testers are opting instead to restore their Windows 8 devices after you install the bits of the preview, they will still have to reinstall their applications once they move to the RTM of Windows 8.1 version.

Windows 8 users who do not install the preview build and opt instead to go directly from Windows 8/Windows RT for Windows 8.1 will not reinstall their applications. All parameters, data and applications will be postponed, a spokesman said when I asked. Users will be able to decide when and if they want to switch from Windows 8 and Windows RT to the 8.1 versions, officials stressed.

How to prepare:

Backup of your system before:

http://www.notebooks.com/2009/10/24/how-to-backup-your-installation-of-Windows-7/

See the following article from Microsoft MVP JW Stuart on how to make a backup of an installation of Windows XP here using Acronis True Image here

Alternatively, you can use for backup of Windows XP is Easeus backup, JW Stuart also has an article about it here

These same principles should work for the people who are running Windows Vista.

If you run editions such as Windows Vista Business, Enterprise or Ultimate Edition, you can use the built in backup of the computer of your Vista installation. This can be very handy in case of failure of your installation of Windows 8. For instructions on how to use the backup of the computer, see article following here. Of course, you'll need an external hard drive for this task.

Create a partition:

Dual boot:

See instructions for dual boot based on the installation of the Windows 8 previews, the same principles will work for Windows 8.1 Preview:

How dual boot Windows XP and Windows 8

How dual boot Windows Vista/7 and Windows 8

Use the Virtual Machine software:

This method is recommended if you have a powerful enough processor and plenty of memory.

You can use alternatives such as Oracle VirtualBox or VMWare Player.

VMware Player;

http://downloads.VMware.com/d/details/player_401/dGpkYnRwd3didGRwQA==

If you are running Windows 8 Pro on a computer with the support of SLAT second layer of address translation, you can use the built in Hyper-V which comes with Windows 8 Pro edition.

After upgrading my Aurora R4 for Windows 10 I suddenly after a week suddenly had problems with my control center and control of fans and lighting.

When I turn on my Alienware fans go to 100% speed and stays there. No control of the fans in the command center, also not able to control them manually.

Tried to reinstall the center of command several times. versions 3.5 and 3.6. Also tried the drain of power between UN-installing and installation. BIOS is A11.

Summer contemplating the purchase of a new Council MIO but reading other messages I do not his failure as it seems that most of the issues related to the fans operating at 100% is related to the Windows upgrade 10. I tried running MIO diagnostic tools, but it will not work through the test.

There is a blue light until then in left corner of the members of the IMU.

My understanding is that the MIO card is connected via a USB port on the motherboard. What is problems with the origin of this problem USB driver?

Does anyone know if Dell is working on a fix for this?

Any help would be much appreciated!

    Thank you

    KO

I have same exact problem on my R4 Aurora just upgraded to Windows 10.  I think it is a bug in the controller of Alienware Dell must fix as soon as possible (but probably will not fix soon, or never).  It is not your MIO Board, because many others have this same problem and I do not think that all these maps MIO just failed at the same time.

I hope that Dell reads these forums because we do need a software fix for this.

You can use a workaround and launch control center and go to the thermal control.  Adjust the fans from automatic to manual at a set speed or use the curve.  Then restart. It should pump fans several times on how to start and stop, but after starting the fans should settle.

Also sleep no longer works on Windows 10 on the R4.  Put the PC to sleep works for a few minutes but he then wakes up and will not fall asleep.  Too bad Dell certified the R4 for windows 10 prematurely.  I would have never improved my Windows 7 Pro I knew all these problems existed.

I plan the upgrade of Windows 10 of my HP ENVY m6-1125dx Notebook PC (Intel Core i5 - 3210M CPU) and need to know if this computer will be compatible with Windows 10. Because the HP support Web site now requires a scanning system to report on the drivers available, I have no way of knowing if there are any drivers Windows 10 available (or if they are still required). Just an update... I followed your advice and installed upgrading on-site instead of clean, and everything seems to work fine. Hello

I have a brand new A200 - TH1 comes with Vista Home Premium installed Edition. I had to install Vista Ultimate to get the job in Sql Server 2005 Reporting SERVICES. Upgrade Windows at all times managed without problems or errors. The problem is that my system gets now BSOD about 20 times a day. Its extremely unstable. I have restored to Home Premium using recovery disks, everything is stable until I apply vista ultimate improvement. I tried the upgrade without having to install any other software, shortly after my system crashes with BSOD 0 x 00008086. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Vista Business Edition would be the surface, but there is no upgrade for this. I am very confused as to why a skeleton of the system from vista home premium to vista ultimate would cause my sysytem so unstable... Hello Jack

I imagine that you have these problems, because a few months ago, I read an interesting article on this update and it was written on possible problems after the upgrade procedure. I installed a few times Ultimate on my A200 but as new installation.

What you can try is to install the OS by using recovery media, delete all the stuff designed by Toshiba, including all other software like Norton. After doing this upgrade brand.

When the upgrade is complete, install all the stuff of Toshiba order following facilities described in the instructions for Installations. I A200 with Vista Home Premium but I don't have a media Anytime upgrade and cannot test with my Satellite.

    Hello

Depends on hardware configuration required on later operating systems, and also find out if the manufacturer of the laptop computer is supported and provides drivers for operating systems later as to whether it is possible or feasible to upgrade or not.

There is no free upgrade or discounted Vista to 7, 8.1, or 10.

I want to install Windows 7 Professional.  I ran the Windows Upgrade Advisor, and he told me that I can upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium and Ultimate. Why not professional? Or is this correct?

You can still install Windows 7 Pro, but it requires a custom installation. This will remove all your programs (you will need to reinstall them), but you can save your files and settings to external storage before doing so.

If you want to make a place in the upgrade you will need Home Premium or Ultimate.

What Upgrade Options are available for Windows 7?
If you are running Windows Vista , in some cases you can proceed directly to Windows 7, and in other cases, you must perform a custom installation. The following table shows what editions of Windows Vista can be upgraded to Windows 7.

Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Ultimate

    Windows Vista Edition Home Premium

Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Ultimate

  • Windows upgrade offer - lost product key

    Hello world

So here is my dilemma - I have a Toshiba laptop that came pre-installed with Windows 7 Home Premium, when I bought it in October 2012. At the time, Microsoft was running a promotion called the Windows upgrade offer (http://www.windowsupgradeoffer.com), where, if you had purchased an eligible PC/Laptop, you could buy an upgrade to Windows 8 just AU $ 14.99.
Later, Microsoft ran a promotion where you can receive a free media center upgrade which allows you to install Windows Media Center.
Unfortunately, I lost the product key Windows 8 original I had received the supply of Windows 8 upgrade - and my laptop has been infected with a virus. I figured I'd just best to re - install Windows 8 by using the option "remove all and reinstall Windows" in the Windows 8 Control Panel. He was able to reinstall Windows, but asked me to enter a product key. Due to the fact that I could not find my product key, I used Belarc Advisor to find my product key, just before I went ahead with the process of re-installing. Bit I didn't, the product key that Belarc Advisor found was in fact Windows 8 with the product key for Media Center.
Thus, Windows won't let me activate, as the Setup is 'Windows 8 Pro', not 'Windows 8 Pro with Media Center'.
I contacted Microsoft via Twitter, phone (technical support, billing/accounts, activations and Microsoft Store departments) and live chat, those who have no record of my purchase. I still have the Windows upgrade offer promo ID and registration confirmation number I received in an email to * address email is removed from the privacy *, but they prove to be useless for support teams. Also the use of the Windows command summary site (http://mswos.com) does not seem to show my order.
Is that what I am able to do?

    Try contacting Microsoft, once again, that is your best option;
