juice spilled on macbook

I spilled orange juice on my macbook pro a few hours ago. wasn't much, maybe less than a quarter on the lower keys on my macbook. the laptop worked when the spill happened, but I quickly wiped the orange juice, turn it off and it tipped. not knowing what to do, I tried pouring rice on the keyboard, but soon realized that the rice could get stuck inside the keyboard (which is). chipped some of the keys that spilled orange juice on and cleaned. I'm not too sure about the mac inside, except that there is always some rice and juice very probably.

Help?

Take your Mac at the Apple Store as soon as possible. You cannot fix yourself, and there is no way to determine the extent of the damage. Do not activate the circumstances.

Good luck

  • Juice spilled under MacBook pro 13 "early 2011 a1278 and he died. Can I still save it.

at about 19:00 2 days ago, I spilled juice on my MacBook, and I freaked out so I deleted for awhile and then hurried to dry off the coast. I then continued turning power on and off until it dies eventually completely. I know now that all the mistakes I made so what I did after he died was I opened the back and let dry. After more research I found some guides on how to clean the contents of the folder correctly, but all the stores have already closed at that time so I waited until the next day to buy all the tools and denatured alcohol and proceeded to disassemble the product and clean following the guide. I then waited until about 2 hours before now to go up the MacBook and the battery showed 1 green light but nothing else has worked, not even the light on the charger lights up. I opened and found that a partbof map logic heated very quickly when I plug the charger. So my main question is whether or not my MacBook still salgeavable or not. Help, please.

  • I poured the juice on my macbook air

So I poured the juice on my macbook there was not that much and I spilled juice on it before, but this time was different cos he really turned off that it self but anyway I panicked and I started to panic and I shook it and then I found online that you have to leave it on the keyboard side down and I did that for a bit and then I turned it on and it really works but then it shut down again once I gave it a little and then I switched back on it and it turned on again and I managed to put my password and he began loading but it stopped again. I tried to put it on the charger sometimes the charger light comes on for a bit and then turns off, but most of the time it is not even turn on at all. It was 18 hours as it happened and I thought I'd try to trigger the SMS but I don't know if it is possible that if I shake it the juice would spread. Please help me.

When the liquid comes in contact with the computer, you run the risk of the liquid made his way to the logic board. Once the logic board to get even a little wet, liquid will conduct electricity and short on parts of the Board as power is applied (start, restart, load, etc.)

It would be wise for you to have the MacBook evaluated to an Apple store or Apple authorized service provider.

  • Satellite A305 - how to clean the keyboard after juice spills

    Hey guys,.

I had a the sSatellite series A305 an i could not find discussions on this exactly.
Basically whats up's had one incident minor orange juice on the left side of the keyboard thankfully not a lot of juice to all minor.
I managed to clean most on the surface. And had to work it's good enough to get out of the speaker box.

However, some of the keys are a bit of stick now, i wondered if there are techniques to withdraw safely on that I must do before I try to block these keys. Hmm pressing on enter appear... in any case...

I had one of these laptops before a few months ago, but one of the keys is broken somehow, after that, I got a little worried because I had to basically return it and get another laptop from work. If im sure it was a defective key with the last one I was not playing with keys, but I'm not sure how sustainable this is. Also this will probably also help to learn how to clean the keyboard, theres a bit of a dust and grump under the space bar which has been botherin me an i have no idea how to remove one get clean the dirt below.

I'll check this post when I wake up in the morning. If you know the techniques of hair removal good explain please, I'm not very good with directions so patient with me.

    Hello

To be honest, you will never be able to clean the keyboard. Break down the water is maybe not so bad, but the juice is sticky and can not be cleaned properly.
I'm afraid that you need a new keyboard. :(

  • Spread juice on MacBook Air 13 "2014

I have juice spill on my MacBook Air 13 "model 2014 A1466. MacBook works fine, but when I want to watch YouTube videos it starts to use Paste (but laptop is not hot) and Macbook starts to slow down. Kernel_task is also at this time in the 300 surveillance system. What should I do?

Unfortunately, Mac is not waterproof. You're lucky if it still works after contact with your favorite juice. Usually the devices and water don't mix and water damage are not covered by the warranty. Corrosion has already begun.  You must schedule an appointment of genius at the Apple Store to evaluate the level of damages. They will offer you the best solution.

  • Charger lighting up orange, no power. :(Water damage

The eve of Christmas on my boyfriend spilled a glass of juice on my macbook pro closed Office was on... It was plugged. I assumed it was going to be fine, caught and he wiped away with a cloth but then when I tried to turn it on nothing has happened. Then I put in the rice and tried 4 days later... Still nothing. Now tonight I plugged the power cord and it is enlightening to orange but the computer still wont turn on! IM assuming that water damage was the thing in wind less than the rear of the macbook as it was closed... Does anyone think theres a chance for repair? I don't know anything about computers

Apple Genius Bar is your best bet.  Water caused short circuits.  I hope that you have backups, but your system allows easy HD removal so that the HD can be put in an external box in case you should give up the old system and buy a new one.

Genius Bar will tell you the extent of the damage and repair costs.

Keep it unplugged and don't try to power only after notification by Genius Bar.

    Good luck.

Your HD might have survived, although he stopped abruptly and the OSX is a little unstable at startup under OSX.  Again, Genius Bar can tell you if the HD is damaged.

  • HP Pavilion m7: delete portable computer keyboard buttons

I have a laptop HP Pavilion m7 that recently had orange juice spilled on a few keys on the keyboard. Is there a way to delete individual keys for cleaning without messing up the keyboard? I don't want to start trying to lift them without input from someone who can try.

    Hi @Steveo6161,.

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I read your thread on your HP Pavilion Notebook m7 and a keys stick after a spill. Here is a document on cleaning the keyboard.

Here is a video on Youtube that has useful information. I would use in flat water and cotton swabs. Just stop the swab and go around the affected area.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you

  • What should I do if I spilled liquid on my macbook, after I let it dry... I can't turn and if it is all ok forget, or should I bring it support?

What should I do if I spilled liquid on my macbook, after I let it dry... I can't turn and if it is all ok forget, or should I bring it support?

Happened to others? What do you recommend?

Liquid spills are not covered by the warranty. Always have a current backup plan. How to create a clone of startup

Try your luck when you turn it on. Soda soda is worse than water, continues to corrode.

In general, it's a keyboard for small amounts of liquid.  In this case, you may be able to combine a wireless keyboard and the trackpad.

  • Spilled wine on MacBook Pro 13"

I have spill wine on my MacBook Pro 13 "a few weeks.  I took to work and had a technician to look at it, and said it looks like I need a new top box.  It does at all.  What do you advise?  Is it worth spending money on a new top box and maybe longer if needed, or should I consider it watered and search for amother one?

    Thanks for your help,

    Billy

The data on the hard drive may be fine, but it is still possible that the electronic system controlling the hard disk have shorted.  If you do not have backups and you choose to replace the machine, you will need to put this drive in a box outside (you can get a place in most electronic stores that sell computers) so you can copy the data out of it.  If it doesn't work, it can be fried, and you must say goodbye to data or pay more for a service of data recovery expensive detach the drive and read the data on specialized equipment sets

  • coffee spilled on a macbook: how to save files with critical and time sensitive information

Daughter just spilled coffee on his macbook pro with the basic files needed for papers and research in a week.  How can she recover the files needed to access and use the work by the end of the term.

The Mac dry for 24 hours then try to start.

If after 24 hours he does not start, make an appointment at the Genius Bar

If you can't go to an Apple Store, look for an authorized service provider > Apple - find

If necessary, if all goes well it will be able to restore these files from a Time Machine backup > use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac - Apple Support

  • MacBook Pro the Spill - currently work but with minor problems

As the title indicates, about three weeks ago, I spilled tea on the left upper quarter of my keyboard close to the ESC key.  The laptop immediately power off and because of cracking noises that sounded not good.  I put upside down and let the water dry for a few days then put Kleenex tissue on top of the keyboard and shut up for one more day.  I turned it on the next day (stupid I know but I am a student, he uses it often) and it showed a folder flashing with an exclamation mark on the subject.  I immediately turned off and he let it harden for three days.

I left for the weekend and I tried it turn and surprisingly it works fine.  I was able to connect and saw the splash screen and shortly after it stops immediately again.  I let settle again for a few days and tried again and this time it has begun well.  The Macbook has worked for the next two days, however, I noticed two things:

    (1) just below the trackpad, from time to time would make noise very hard and rough, sounding like two things rub together.  It's a very unpleasant noise, and even if it isn't that strong, it is noticeable and certainly doesn't sound good.

    (2) on almost all of my keyboard are a few bumps on each key, almost like the dried water particles, however, they don't come off the coast.  If you rub them completely off it tears the part of the key and a layer of the current key will detach a black space on the key.  I realize it's not big problem, however, do not know the cause of what I will not be spilled tea on all keys.

I took my computer to the Apple store, and they told me that everything works well.  Every thing in the Macbook got a green check mark when they tested and they said it worked perfectly (crazy, I know.).  They said that there was no problem and I could continue to use it as usual.  However, the genius bar apple guy said, it was the first time ever, he saw the bumps on my keys, however, he said, it's fine that you can't even feel them when entering.  However, only two days after a visit to the apple store, my macbook stopped on me when I was with her.  I tried to power it back on and it became like a safe mode where I was asked to select the HARD disk drive (I think).  I don't have an option to make attempts so and after a lot of google, I thought that my Macbook was done for good.  However, as I was on the phone with apple support, not even an hour later, at random, he started to work very well and worked well since the incident.

Now, this is where I ask my question, because my computer is still random scratch harsh noises under the trackpad, should I worry or continue to use it?  These sounds are completely random and sometimes it happens at all for a day and then sometimes will get 5 to 10 a day, during anywhere from 3 seconds to 20 seconds of scratching and noise.  In addition, suggestions on the keyboard?  I know this isn't a problem, but it's just a little weird on the keyboard and to be completely honest, baffled myself and the representative of apple engineering.

Thank you very much for your help!

You should be worried about. Liquids and electronics don't go together well. Damage may increase to erode over time as components. Make sure that you have a backup of all your data because your computer can die at any moment. As you work back up your data continuously for the same reason.

  • I managed to spill water on my MacBook Pro, Apple will know if I open just to check if the sensor LCI (water) have been activated? And if they somehow, this void my warranty?

Today, I spilled a glass of water and it went all over my MacBook Pro keyboard. The laptop is less than a month. I did everything what is recommended - I turned off and returned upside down now and just do it sit down u with ventilation and a fan just next door. If I open it in a few days to see if sensors of water have been activated, this will automatically cancel my warranty even if they are not. I read that sometimes they get activated, so I would check.

Water + computer means generally computer died.

Turn the power off.  Leave it unplugged.  Find your backup.

Let the Genius Bar to determine how much damage has been done.
