KB980182 problem (hang on reboot)

Pro

Description of the problem: there is a new update which requires me to download an important update on Internet Explorer 8 recently. The download is successful, but the only problem is that the next time I turn on my computer, the computer hangs when loading the Windows loading bar and I have to restore to before the update.
In this case everything that the update is installed, and whenever I update the same thing, its crashes again.
It hangs at the loading bar Windows Vista after a reboot, if the update is not installed

The update is Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 8 for Windows Vista (KB980182)
Operating system: Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2 32-bit operating system

.. .after KB980182 systems begins to run as usual and after a few minutes that slows down a lot of things that I need to turn off the PC. The VA runs with 99% of system resources usage. After return to the last restore point, the problem goes away.

KB980182 covers a minimum of 5 five critical security vulnerabilities, which are widely used as I type this response. If KB980182 is not installed, your computer should NOT be connected to the internet or local area network (i.e. other computers)!

  • Satellite 2410: Updates of Windows XP problem - it hangs after reboot

Hello! I am a computer engineer and I never face a problem like this before.

I install a new HD to the model 2410-601, after the installation of the restore CD and the conversion to NTFS I installed SP2. Now... after the computer start some automatic updates and ask for a reboot. When it restarts the computer will not fully start and stop at Midway to the windows xp logo... I checked updates of drivers of toshiba for a bios update. And the latest version was a 2002 V1.40. 2002 the last of them? in 4 years toshiba took the trouble to update a bios version?

I even changed the RAM, because I though that might be the problem.
I update SP2 from windows update and still does not. I formatted the machine 5 times already.

    Can anyone help?

    P. S.
    Excuse my English

    Hello

Above all the BIOS update has nothing to do with a Microsoft SP2.
You should know as a computer engineer.
My laptop is about 6 years old and I've never updated a BIOS. It works well with all Microsoft OS.

However; did you check Microsoft Windows XP SP2 update information?
On the Toshiba driver download page, you will find this document or use this link:

  • Windows 7 hangs after reboot (after "Sensor HP Mobile Data Protection" updated)

My Windows 7 Home Premium hangs (blue screen) to the 'Starting Windows' screen after reboot. And the reason for the rebate to zero (and crash) is updated to Windows "HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor" . I did hidden, but now I need to install drivers for my webcam and every time that I turn on "automatic driver installation" update of windows server, it installs not only the WebCam drivers, but also this «HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor» update Which brings me to the crash at the next restart of Windows. The only way is to return to the system restore point.

I use a laptop "HP Compaq 6715 b" . I had Vista prior to this (it was preinstalled with HP all the "stuff"), but after upgrade (reinstallation) of windows 7, upgrading from windows found all the drivers (and graphics and sound and even the biometric device drivers), but is now something wrong after every update "HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor" . Why? Or at least I can make him 'banned '?

P.S. I had and have the 32-bit version of Windows.

    ny6uctblu,
Have you checked with HP on any problems with this software?  Here is a link for download of HP for the software.  You should also check that your BIOS is up to date.  I found some info on a wire of HP on the Data Protection sensor Mobile works is not propely.  This thread can also give you some other ideas.

  • Lead time for the T400 Vista SP2 x 64 and hangs on reboot

    Hello

I searched the forums, but couldn't find the same problem. It looks more like a problem with the OS.

The problem is with T400 (description of model in the background) running Vista Ultimate x 64 SP2. I get huge delay before booting from the HARD disk (3-10 minutes). This happens just after the post, when it comes to a black silicone screen with the flashing line in the upper left corner, before the loading Vista appears. HARD drive may be the only boot device in the boot order, it is not serious.

Another problem that happens on every reboot. Windows stops, goes to black screen and hangs there. I can't POST in this case. I can only-hard restart, after that, I get same start-up time huge, before the options of windows to Safe Mode shows, etc. due to improper closing (or automatically the normal startup).

I ran all the tests of PC Doctor, the material is ok. I have updated to the latest version of the BIOS, HARD drive and firmware ODD and all the new drivers. All the patches to vista on lenovo download page appear to be part of SP2 now, because all say, they cannot be applied to the system.

I don't want to run XP or Vista x 86, since I hold the RAM to be used at full capacity.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I had the same problem mentioned in the other thread you posted. I had to send mine and get the motherboard replaced.

1 remove the hard drive from the laptop

    2. start until this stops at a few guests

    3. press on Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart the portable computer

If it stalls / freezes on one screen empty and does not restart then it isn't a Windows Vista problem, because the hard drive is not there, but a hardware problem which you would have to return it and get fixed.

If it restarts right away then try to format and reinstall Vista.

  • iMac late 2012 edition hangs on reboot after installing Sierra

I installed on my iMac, edition end of 2012 Sierra, and now it crashes when rebooting and turns off (black screen).

It has worked very well since the upgrade to Sierra yesterday, but this morning I rebooted and the iMac stop at Midway through the boot process. I turned on several times, but it keep crashing to half way through the implementation process and turns off the power (Black screen and power total power off).

I reboot in Recovery mode, (key command-R during restart) and am currently OS X via my latest TimeMachine recovery upward. According to the screen, the restoration will take about 2 hours to complete.

If someone has encountered this problem, and if so, will identify you the cause of the problem?

No problem on my Mac Pro 2010 but usually this kind of problem can be traced back to the 3rd install party who tries to run at startup.

If the problem persists try to start in safe mode

  • Help! Problem of freeze/reboot IMac, Apple has been without help

Hi all. I have a persistant problem with my iMac (chart below). Presented it Apple Store twice now, they have not solved the problem. Basically: my computer, with no visible trend, will freeze while I use it and trigger a reboot. Sometimes once a day, sometimes several times a day. Various open applications, does not make a difference. Apple Store/Genius Bar people have told me they think it's a software problem, but the system log confuses me and makes me doubt this conclusion: I was meticulously noting the time of freeze, at +/-5 seconds, and there is NOTHING in the paper system at this time. No kernel panic, no newspaper of the accident, no notice of ANY running process. I'll post the last example below I list of specifications. Anyone thought EVERYTHING might happen? I am running:

iMac (retina 5K, 27 inches, end of 2015)

    OS X 10.11.5

    4 GHz Intel Core i7

    1 TB drive merger

    Third party memory 32 GB

Also always have an Apogee Duet race / connected, so the software Apogee Maestro is always on - it is the only part of the software that is always on- but no problem journal related to that.

Speaking to the newspaper, it is an example of the journal at the time of my last fall. The accident occurred at 09:54:05 6/26. You will notice that in the part of the newspaper I have write, leave a little before the accident until the process starts again, there is NOTHING happening yet near the time of the accident. This is typical of these accidents, and there are hundreds of them at this point. Daily minimum of the event, usually several times per day. Goggle Chrome Helper is a known culprit.

Also, the Goggle itself browser is constantly harvest marketing information because it is Google's business model.

If it's not her, I do a clean install of Mac OS X and test this. If it still restarts then it is not a software problem.

  • 10.11.5 iMac upgrade hangs on reboot

    Hi all

Saw the son near him, so I'll post what I pass the problem. I've updated through the apps store the 10.11.5 el Captain update. Download and install went quickly until the screen says reboot...

Then he hung for one hour. Powered it down, I restarted in safe mode, it completed the upgrade and I logged on to see where it is hung at the 14/06/16 09:22:35.257.

Disk utility passed ok. on iMac says 10.11.5. Restarts in normal mode to see.

Good luck if you have this problem,

If you can start in safe mode but not normally mode?

  • The computer hangs after reboot cold.

I just bought a HP Officejet AIO 6310xi. After several tests the OEM package will install not (installation failure). From the Web site and out of the CD/DVD included.

I let MS-Vista install drivers and at least the printer works fine until reboot. Then the system freezes upward. Once I have turned the printer off and restart again the computer starts no prob. I have 6300 drivers and suspect that the drivers are up-to-date and incompatible with MS Vista. My computer is only a year old and during the inspection of the hub USB the draw appears in the settings (below 500 mha).

The cable is less than 9 feet long. I have enough computer resources including backbone RAM and HD space.

Is there anyway that I can get Vista drivers for this printer only without going through an arduous process for a long time?

    Any advice will be appreciated.

It seems that the USB driver are to blame. But after I re-installed the new drivers of hub USB the computer always freezes the re-boot. It is not the most recent, I have found yet. The bios does not seem to be a problem because it is a Dec 2006 re - build. I guess it's a matter of waiting until the USB hub drivers are updated.

  • Tecra S3 - Windows 2000 hangs on reboot

    Hi all

I have a Tecra S3 dual boot Windows XP and 2000, with the correct RAID driver installed for each of them.

In Windows 2000, it hangs for a reset. It is necessary feed the computer works in order to complete the reset.

This problem does not occur in Windows XP and BACK. Is there someone else by using Windows 2000 with this model?

    Thank you

    Rubens

    Hello

Well, it's not easy to say why this problem occurs. I assume that you have installed the W2k since the original Windows CD. In this case, it is very important to install the driver Toshiba, tools and utilities in the correct order.
On the Toshiba download page I found a statement of installation for W2k. This list gives you a good driver installation information. Please see this document.

    Good bye

  • Satellite M40: Recovery Procedure hangs on reboot after using the recovery CD

    Hi all

I have a clients Sat M40-197, which was badly marred by malware that I did a full restore using the supplied disc that has the number of product PMR400490EN0. After the reboot, the system hangs just in normal mode and safe mode, I noticed that the last connected line is Mup.sys, but even in this mode the system always starts. I tried to use Ghost in advanced mode do not resize the partition, but not matter what I try, I can't start.

Before taking what I think, this is my only option to use a standard OEM XP Home disk and the installation using the supplied product key I was wondering if anyone had solutions to this?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

First looks like a mistake to restore CD. I mean it s possible that the CD is damaged or whatever and then some data is maybe damaged.

If this isn't the case, then I guess that the following reasons:

-HARD disk no is not correctly formatted-> reformat it completely and create a LARGE partition
-HARD disk is defective-> check the HARD drive with a special HARD drive tool of the manufacturer (in most cases you can download it from the manufacturer's Web site)
You can also download "UBCD4WIN" (just google for it) and check your HARD disk with built-in tools
-Memory could be faulty-> use the "UBCD4WIN" and check the memory with "PI" or "SuperPI".

    She's...
    ;)

    Welcome them

  • Vista problem: blue screen, Reboot, repeat

    Hello

I'm desperate for some help with my laptop Gateway W340UI with Windows Vista.

Ther last time I used it was last night while I played the Sims 2, and now it will not start.

How it happens is that Windows error recovery starts and tells me that Windows has not started and that a recent hardware or software could be the cause. He told me that I can start with the Mode without failure safe mode with networking, Safe Mode with command prompt, last good known Configuration (Advanced) and start Windows normally. (I already tried all these and none of them work.) The loading bar appears indicating that its commissioning and then I get a blue screen that flashes quickly and so I can't read, and then the computer restarts.

Someone please help I can't live without my cell phone.

Follow these steps to try to solve your problems of boot.

    Restore point:

    http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-system-restore/

Do Safe Mode system restore, if it is impossible to do in Normal Mode.

Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    http://www.windowsvistauserguide.com/system_restore.htm

Read the above for a very good graph shows how backward more than 5 days in the System Restore Points by checking the correct box.

If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.

NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.

Read all the info on the website on how to create and use:

    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/

    ISO Burner:http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html

It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.

You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.

It is NOT a disc of resettlement.

And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.

    See you soon.

  • Computer hangs on reboot must turn off and then restart windows vista 64-bit, how to fix startup log?

Original title: computer hangs on restrting have to swich to then restart windows vesta 64 bit how to fix startup journal

Restart the problem have disc windows do not know how to make a boot fix

    Hi John McAvoy,.

    (1) since when are you facing this problem?

    (2) you get an error message?

I want to clarify if this happens when you start Windows after logging in or before opening a session on windows.

Method 1: Disconnect all external devices (printers, scanner, USB (universal serial bus) readers, etc...) Except the mouse and keyboard > restart the computer and check

If this solves the problem, then add back devices at a time until you discover the piece of hardware causing the issue.  Then get any drivers\software update for the device.

    Thanks and greetings

  • USB CODE 10 ERROR, complete the automatic entry in case of problem, problem keep after reboot...

USB CODE 10 ERROR, troubleshoot automated, everything is OK, resart problem comes back after a reboot...

What is the USB (type, manufacturer, make and model)? What version of vista are you using? The problem occurs if you start in safe mode?

The following applies in some cases (I don't know if it applies to you but I don "t know the appliance, has no validation of the ccmplete and the message in its entirety (Word for Word), and I don't know if that's what you tried - but here it is anyway):http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933442/.

If this does not work, try a boot minimum http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135.  If the problem goes away then it's just a matter of tracking down the culprit at the origin of the problem.   Follow the procedures described in the article.  Once found, remove, delete, disable or uninstall.  Once remember to put Vista in normal status, as described in the procedures. If the problem occurs in clean mode then just restore the system to normal and reboot - this solution will not work.

I hope this helps.  If this isn't the case, then when you have identified the device and answer the other questions, I have more specific recommendations.

    Good luck!

  • Windows 7 hangs after reboot

After that windows 7 attempted a system update hangs on the failure of configuration updates Windows - coming back from changes.  After hours of waiting, it remains the same.  I tried a hard reboot and selected "start in safe mode" and 'start in last good configuration' and 'debug mode' and in all cases, the system goes right back to the "failure configuration Windows...» "How can I leave it this loop?

Restore to an earlier date that the latest updates have been made.  Use the system restore.

Next, we need to prepare your system to properly manage the Windows updates.  It will take a long time (like a day or more), but in almost all cases, this becomes Windows Update on track.

    1. Download and run the appropriate version for your system KB947821 update readiness tool system.  https://support.Microsoft.com/en-CA/KB/947821 32-bit systems X 86.  X 64 64-bit systems.  This is likely to take some time (may be several hours) because it makes all kinds of resets.
    2. Download KB3102810 directly from the Microsoft web site and install it.   https://support.Microsoft.com/en-us/KB/3102810 32-bit systems X 86.  X 64 64-bit systems.

Now restart Windows Update.  Do NOT restart Windows.   Be very, very sick, it will probably take a while.  Recently, the whole process took 24 hours or more time elapsed in my work on my client computers.

Now, your challenge is to be PATIENT.  This can take several hours.

    Tip:

    Restore points

The amount allocated to the point area by restoration by default in Windows 7 is 3% of the capacity of the disk.  In almost all cases, the computer uses but a small part of the available space.  This makes it very convenient to raise that 3% to say 8-10%.  This strategy will give a lot more restore points that will give you much more flexibility to recover a bad situation.

To change the award, type create in the text box above the start planet.  Select create a restore point.  Click set up.  Move the slider to the right as you see fit.  Definition it to 50 gigabytes will have no effect if you have a 500 GB drive and use only about 100 or so, which is very typical.
