  That's right; with Vista Home Premiun upgrade paths are for Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate.

  It is one of the reasons why you should do a clean install.

  The other reason is that you can NOT put 32-bit to 64-bit.

  You need a clean install to do.

  Follow these steps before you install or buy Windows 7:

  Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

  If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

  You cannot use recovery discs to install with, if not for the exact model computer that you install.  You need a full installation detail of the model of Vista operating system you want to install since you don't downgrade your operating system to a system that offers no right of demotion.

  I have a Thrustmaster Top Gun Fox 2 Pro and it will not install in Windows 7 64 bit, Windows reports it cannot find a driver.  The manufacturer says not all newer than Windows XP drivers.

  1. Download ftp://ftp.thrustmaster.com/accessories/pc/hotas/exe/HOTASCOUGAR/2007_HCO_VISTA_64_RC1.exe (Vista for their Cougar Joystick driver)
  2. Make a click on the file and choose Run as Vista Sp2 compat mode and run as admin.
  3. Run the installation program and the joystick connection when you are invited (and installed).
  4. End task on the Setup (it is always waiting for the cougar to be plugged).
  5. Enjoy!

I completely restored Windows (re-formatted hard drive, reinstalled Windows), but none of the drivers I found works with Windows 7 (64-bit).

  Doesn't seem to be compatible with Windows 7 64-bit edition.

  Contact the manufacturer because they are the best people to answer your question.

  In the meantime, run your USB device compatibility mode.

  It seems more likely that spawn something wrong with installation.

  We will try these steps and let me know if that can help you:

  1. Make sure the printer is powered on and connected to your PC.
  2. Click on the start menu and type %temp%.
  3. Open the Temp folder in the search results.
     
  4. Click CTRL + A to select all files and delete them, no need to worry about delete files as all the content of this file is temporary.
  5. Launch the installation files once more and allow the extraction complete.
  6. You will find a new folder in the temp folder, starting with 7Z.
  7. Open the folder, and then open the subfolder named as the model of the printer until you see the content of the whole installation.
  8. Right-click the address bar and select copy the address.
  9. Go to control panel > devices and printers.
  10. Right-click in the background area, and then click Device Manager.
  11. You will find the printer listed under peripheral Bus USB or other section controllers.
  12. Make a right-click on the name of the printer and select Update driver software.
  13. Select Browse my computer for driver software.
  14. Paste the file copied into the box and click Next.
  15. Follow the instructions on the screen, which should point the operating system to use the correct browser and the installation should appear and complete.

  I'm unable to install the software for my laserjet p1102w. I tried the install CD, USB install and install downloadable. I get the error message is below. I ran through almost every tutorial tech support on the HP Web site as well as a few websites of third 3rd, and I'm about to throw this printer out the window. A few things about my setup: the printer is already connected to the network by other computers (Vista, who had no problem with installation).   There are a few other things that we can try to get the printer completely installed and operational.

  Unplug the USB cable.

  Uninstall the software from the CD.

  Go to start, computer, right click on the CD drive and select open, and then double-click on uninstall.

  Restart the computer.

  Then go back to start, computer, right click on the CD drive and select open, then right click on the installer and select run as administrator.

  I hope it will work.

  Another that you can try is to create a new user account with full Admin rights and try to reinstall the printer. How to create a new user account in Windows 7

  If you still have questions then I would contact Microsoft to see if they can help with this error to the administrator.

  I think that we have found the problem... I uninstalled Flash by using the uninstall program located here Flash: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html

  I then reinstalled Flash Player and open the HP Solution Center. Then he showed a dialog box that says that the Plugin Flash to Internet Explorer. I use Firefox as my main browser and therefore never installed the Flash Plugin for Internet Explorer, so the graphics error.

  Under control panel, Sound speakers and headphones properties, tab controls tone, the button apply is gray for my bass/treble settings which will reset to 4 whenever my PC restarts. I can't set the Bass/Treble levels constantly where I want what they (0-4 and Treble - low) because the button apply does not work. I have two identical models of this PC with the same problem - HP Pavilion dv6-7138us with Beats Audio. Apply the button can be fixed? The control GUI Audio Beats (also in the Panel) has bass and treble settings that remain where the value. Maybe which is the substitution of sounds in the control panel? I have a Windows 7 32 bit installed on another PC and sound box has different control options - no Beats Audio. Why is sound different? I think if the Beats change sound controls in Control Panel, these controls should work?

  It appears there is an 'in progress' by HP by the following link solution, but it will be for HP to release a new SoftPaq (no Service Pack, I declare here) to solve the problem. That could take weeks or months. I'll post here if they do.

  I have a Linksys WUSB54GC 3 Wireless Network Adapter version.  I downloaded the latest driver on the Linksys support page that says that it is fully compatible with Windows 7 64 bit.  The adapter will not allow.  After 3 grueling cat takes support sessions with Linksys, they could not understand it and threw the problem back to my Tower say it must be a problem with my Windows 7 64 bit.  I searched for Windows and Linksys support forums and some people have had luck, and others have not.  The driver has been installed manually several times as well as the removal of material, resettlement and loading the driver again and again.  I am trying to connect to my router Linksys WRT54G which has the latest firmware and has another computer wireless connected to it without any problems.  If anyone can help?
