KVM access - needed to configure the switch upstream?

I'm short on time, and I'll put up a UCS solution tomorrow for the first time. I have a feeling I'll have problems of access to the console KVM IP subnet.

Do I need to configure the switch upstream so that the KVM access to the work of the management of VLANS? The subnet KVM stands by the management subnet. I could also set to the same subnet. What is practice here?

KVM IP subnet must be in the same subnet as the management IP addresses you assign to each fabric interconnect. This is due to the KVM using the versus network ports the FEX upstream to FI ports.

Hope this helped...

I have a demonstration kit that includes a WLC 2106 and WAP 2 1252. I have configured the WLC correctly (I think) and the WAP 2 can contact the WLC when they are plugged directly into the WLC and I can connect my wireless laptop. I want to spend the WAP directly connected to the WLC to a core switch Cisco 3560 G. No one knows what port on the 3560 settings should do or where I can look. I have configured the switch ports:

    Interface GigabitEthernetX / X

    switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

    switchport trunk allowed vlan 212,214,215,901

    switchport mode trunk

but when I plug in it do not access the WLC.

Happy, it was a simple problem to solve :)

  • IviSwitch loses value when sending, "configure the switch" configuration = TRUE

    Hi all

We are currently assessing Teststand 4.1 with a multimeter keithley 3706 switch system.

After a first enthusiasm, thinking this tool with the meter switch fits perfectly our needs, real life seems difficult.

Between several other problems, we must say to the device, the channel "s1com1" and "s1com2" are strings of configuration.

Configure the teststand step: change the switch step IVI-> IVI, switching, configuration switch: channels "s1com1" Configuration = True

led to observable in both actions in Ni Spy:

    GetAttributeViBoolean (..., "s1com1", _IS_CONFIGURATION_CHANNEL, VI_FALSE)

    SetAttributeViBoolean (..., "s1com1", _IS_CONFIGURATION_CHANNEL, VI_FALSE)

manually call to this function of the interactive a CVI fp class works as expected (the VI_TRUE updated)

Is there any hint that we could do wrong? Currently, we are just before writing wrappers in cvi and jump all the wonderful Types of IVIStep in teststand.

    Looking forward to any comments

This would have the same problem we discovered recently in our internal tests. For the problem that we found, we will probably include our fix in a next corrective patch. You can check if the problem persists if you change your locale in English in the control panel? If the problem no longer occurs, can you use this as a workaround for now?

    Hello

TAR is only compatible with the switches of the series 6500 cisco IOS family.

Remove nat and just send the ordinary traffic until the cable modem where the real NAT is configired for further communication to the internet.

    It could be that useful...

I am creating the simple thing by closing the switch as in image2 light bulb can I achieve using adobe?

The image1 is real state and when I close it (on user event) the switch, the switch status should change and bulb should light up.

When there are still once a user switch event must be like the image1.

    Image1Image2.JPGImage2Image1.JPG

Yes, you can create this effect using Flash.  You can create two different frameworks, one showing the open circuit and the other showing the closed circuit with the light bulb on the schema within a movieclip.  Some event you intend to tell the movieclip to change images based on any framework is now.

It was an approach, but there is a varoiety of ways to do this.

  • How to configure the switch for JMS bridge

    Hello

I tried with the selector option when working with several bridges, here is the scenario that I applied.

    Created five queues ( Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4, and Q5 ) and configured JMS bridge Destinations with each queue with the factory of unique connections ( CF1, CF2, CF3, CF4, and CF5 ) and baptized as D1, D2, D3, D4 and D5.
Then created JMS JB2 bridges with D1 source and destination as D2. Similarly the JB3 as D1-D3, as D1-D4 JB4 and JB5 as D1-D5.
And sector for each of the JB2 JB3 and JB4 JB5 as two, three, four and five respectively and reboot after the changes.

Now I expect the following scenario to work
By pushing the message to Q1/CF1 with two in the content of the message, so wait for the message to be delivered to Q2/CF2 through JB2, but messages is not moved by JB2.
Similarly, message pushed to Q1/CF1 having three in the content of the message, so waiting for the message to be delivered to Q3/CF3 by JB3, but messages is not moved through JB3. Similar behavior for other messages with four and five in the content of the message.

In the bridge configuration, selected QOS as "Atmost" - once.

Note: all configurations were conducted in the same field and the WL version is 10.3.6.0 *

The example message I am pushing to Q1/CF1 say 'two Test Data'* and expect to reach the queue Q2/CF2

JMS selectors work normally om jms headers and not on the message.

In my previous post, I see that WebLogic provides an extension "SELECTOR xpath" in this area, although I recommend using standard selectors when possible. See my previous post for more information on the syntax of the selector, etc.. The best resource on selectors is the javadoc for javax.jms.Message (http://docs.oracle.com/javaee/5/api/javax/jms/Message.html).

A transparent firewall is a pretty good comparison.

Say you have vlan 10 with 100 PCs and 1 router for the network.

If you want to apply a transparent firewall on this vlan you can put not just the Firewall interface on vlan 10. Nothing would go through the firewall.

Instead, you need to create a new vlan, say 1010. Now you place the Firewall interface on vlan 10 and the other on the vlan 1010. Nothing is still going through the firewall. So now move you that router from vlan 10 to vlan 1010. Everything you do is to change the vlan, IP address and the mask of the router remain the same.

The firewall transparent bridge vlan 10 and vlan 1010. The SCP on the vlan 10 ae is able to communicate and through the router, but must go through the transparent firewall to do.

The firewall is transparent because there no IP Route between 2 VLANS, instead, the same IP subnet is on the VLAN and the transparent firewall ensuring the beidges between the 2 VLANS.

The transparent firewall can do firewall between the SCP on the vlan 10 and the router on vlan 1010. But PC has vlan 10 talks for PC B on vlan 10, then the transparent firewall does not see and cannot block this traffic.

An InLine sensor is very similar to the transparent firewall and will fill between the 2 VLANS. And similarly an InLine sensor is able to monitor InLine between PCs traffic on vlan 10 and the router on vlan 1010, but will not be able to monitor the traffic between 2 PCs on vlan 10.

Now the PC on the other vlan and the router on a virtual LAN is a classic deployment for the sensors online, but your VLAN need not be divided in this way. You can choose to place some servers in one vlan and desktop to another vlan. You subdivide them VLAN to whatever the logical method for your deployment.

Now for the surveillance of several VLANs the same principle still applies. You can't control traffic between machines on the same vlan. So for each the VLAN that you want to analyze, you will need to create a new vlan and divide the machines between the 2 VLANS.

In your case with Native IOS, you are limited to only 1 pair of VLAN for InLine followed, but your desired deployment would require 20 pairs of vlan.

The IPS 5.1 software now has the ability to manage the 20 pairs, but the native IOS software doesn't have the ability to send the 40 VLAN (20 pairs) to the JOINT-2.

Changes in native IOS are in testing right now, but I have not heard a release date for these changes.

Now cat BONES has already made these changes. So here is a breakdown of basic of what you could do in the BONE of cat and you can use to prepare for a deployment native IOS when it came out.

For VLAN 10-20 and 300-310, you want monitored, you will need to break each of those VLANs in VLAN 2.

Let's say that keep us it simple and add 500 to each vlan in order to create the new VLAN for each pair.

    Therefore, the following pairs:

    10/510, 511/11, 12/512, etc...

    300/800, 801/301, 302/802, etc...

You configure the port to probe trunk all 40 VLAN:

    set the trunk 5/7 10-20 300-310 510-520 800-810

(And then clear all other vlans off this trunk to clean things up)

In the configuration of JOINT-2 create the 20 pairs of vlan inline on interface GigabitEthernet0/7

NW on each of VLAN original 20 leave the default router for each LAN virtual vlan original to the vlan 500 +.

At this point, you should be good to go. The JOINT-2 will not track traffic that remains inside each of the 20 VLAN original, but would monitor the traffic is routed in and out of each of the 20 VLAN.

Due to a bug of switch, you may need to have an extra PC moved to the same vlan as the router if the switch/MSFC is used as the router and that you deploy with a JOINT-2.

Yes, you need to configure the physical switch port as a trunk and then configure the VLAN tagging on your Exchange Configuration-> Networking.

  • PC8024 interface with existing voice VLAN (100) on the switches HP 2910

We have added our first Dell PowerConnect 8024 switch to an existing network of switches HP 2910.  We have only 2 VLANS configured: voice (100) and default (1).  The switches HP all default ports VLAN are set to "no label" and all the ports on the voice VLAN are established 'labelled '.

I need to configure the PC8024 to co-exist with the existing network phones for Mitel can communicate.  We are not familiar with the PC8024 switch, evaluate as a possible solution for improving our spine and DR subnet 1 GB to 10 GB.  For the spine, we need the voice traffic to be handled properly, so we set up the work with the existing voice VLANS 8024.

What parameters of configuration of VLAN do we need on the PC8024 to co-exist with the existing network configuration for the (100) voice VLAN on HP switches?

Voice VLAN allows you to specify which VLANs, then you should be able to use the VLAN 1, but if you use VLAN 1 and 100, you could probably just create a VLAN 100 and not bother with the stuff of vlan voice. What type of port is the port you are trying to assign to tagged in? Access mode cannot do without label. If it was the general mode you can assign it labeled 100 and a PVID from 1 which would put traffic which is not marked on the vlan 1.

  • Need help! Interlocked switches or buttons

    Hello

I have an application of prison access & control running at lookout 6.1. My client asked me to add 2 buttons on the screen or switches to 2 groups of exit doors in case they have an emergency situation. They want me to add a button on the client to wait to release the first group, called Group-A. This would release the first group of doors giving the prisoners to leave the cell and enter a secure area of the postern. Then, they want a second button to free the second group of Gates called Group B. This would allow the prisoners to leave the building. They don't want to group B of the second button to be able to be used or button when Group A is already on. I need to lock the switches or push buttons (I use one or the other) I don't see any way to achieve lookout? I might even just disable the switch until the switch group-one was on but disable it only works when the switch is in mode DDE. I really need to find a solution to all of this help, anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated!

  • Having trouble getting the voice VLAN on the switch X1052P to work at all

Can someone help me understand how to set up the voice VLAN X1052P? I spent several hours trying to get this working and it does not work. I spent about 4 hours on the phone with a Dell technician that night and he couldn't get it to work and finally gave up. He told me that I had to spend my warranty to ProSupport because he did not know how to solve the problem. What group of *. It's a simple configuration of VLAN. What must be so picky about? In any case...

Setting up the VIRTUAL LAN must be fairly simple, but apparently on this switch is not. The user guide page 406 is not very useful except explaining what the different options. I must admit I am not an expert VLAN so I dunno I've misconfigured something. But remember, Dell technology could not operate either.

Here's my situation... I have VoIP phones on my network connected to a network wall jack. Connected to phones are my computers of users. The computer of the user and its respective VoIP phone, both share the same data cable. Before replacing Cisco managed Internet service provider spend all it worked well. The problem is that they had direct access to our network so I removed the switch and installed the X1052P in its place. I talked to the ISP to let them know what I'm doing and they said everything I had to do was setup VLAN ID: 15 for the voice VLAN because this is the VLAN ID that the router uses to route telephone traffic. Router PSI is also the server DHCP VLAN 15 and issues IP for phones using 172.27.0.0/24 with a DHCP 172.27.0.50 range - 150.

I tried to configure the switch using parameters of VLAN static and settings VLAN voice and neither one also seems to do what I want it to do.

Network administration > VLAN > VLAN static

Network administration > VLAN > Voice VLAN

I activated the profile 'phone' on ports I want to added to the voice VLAN and it does not work. Moreover, 47 the switch port is connected directly to the ISP router and is configured as a trunk with the default port VLAN 1 unidentified and tag VLAN 15. For other ports I tried the general implementation, access and trunk of the parameters on each port to see if I could get something going and still nothing happens. When I set up the ports as General ports VLAN, I made adding VLAN VLAN 1 and VLAN 15 as a VLAN tagged not marked. It still does not.

This is the short story from where I am now. Any help is greatly appreciated.

FYI, as a follow up I finally solved the problem. I hope this information helps someone else that can encounter the same problem.

After buying the ProSupport warranty upgrade ($121 out-of-Pocket mind you) and addressing a total of 4 technicians ProSupport expert technician a 3rd another level (only available via chat message between one of the ProSupport phone technicians and the 3rd Tier expert tech - i.e. I couldn't talk or chat with this person me) the consensus was that the material must be bad. When I bought the X1052P I bought two of them, so the best way to know if it was a bad switch was simply configure the other switch and see if the behavior occurs on this one, too. Well, this switch also restarted each time I assigned the profile 'phone' to more than 13 or 14 ports in the switch. It seems that it was not a hardware problem after all.

I went back to the switch original and tried new things hoping that I could fall on a solution and it turns out that the solution was NOT to use the voice VLAN on the switch. It does not work!

SOLUTION: I set the VLAN ID: 15 manually and no has not assigned any phone profiles to one of the ports. This is how I solved the problem.

So he has bad software on the switch. I tried to see if there are updates of the firmware on the Dell support site, but there is none. Configure manually the phone VLAN was the solution. What a freaking nightmare which turned out to be. Maybe someone in Dell could note this problem and test in-house. And, if you want to compensate me for the 20 + hours I spent working on this problem, which has be great, too.
