• LabVIEW for an excel button

  Hi all

  I developed a Labview VI, but now I need the VI to activate an add-in, excel at some point. The add-in allows to launch a measure with which I was not able to control through labview (light meter SEKONIC C-7000) and the measure should start at some well-defined point. So what I have to do is press a button in excel to start measurement, while the VI is running.

  Is it possible to interact in excel using labview? After the VI did an initialization, I would need to excel and not pushing only one button to start the measurement.

  Hi all! I am a student of mechanical Engineeringfthat very little uses this software. I present you the problem: for a question called biomechanics, my colleagues and I, we have developed a rheometer design, which is controlled by LabVIEW2011. Since we are still at the experimental stage, always has been simulated using labview: the whole experience. The excel file must contain a point cloud and two columns (one column represents the frequency, f, of motor control, the second represents the shear modulus G, which increases as the frequency increases and the graph represents the evolution of G based on f). As soon as I decide to save the data, excel opens, for an instant is displayed the diagram of dispersion and data in columns, but immediately after the chart disappears and remains only columns with data (so I have to make the graph "manually") and labview give me the following error:

  Different versions of Office is something that I would consider it carefully. Like trying to get the same version FIRST, unless you want to read the documentation for Microsoft Office Excel Developer between different versions of Excel.

• Client server of executable activex LabVIEW project with excel vba

  Hi all

  I submitted a ticket to support nor on this problem, but my deadline for this project is very close, so I would like to ask the community to see if someone has encountered this problem before (I hope it's ok that I'm doing this!). I did a fair amount of forum-scouring, and I didn't know this even discussed problem.

  I built a labView project which is essentially in the material data and
  preforms various visualizations and transformations on the data. A bit of the
  Screws in this project are available by VBA Excel as a Server ActiveX with LabView and
  Excel as the customer - and it works! I recently discovered I would need to do a
  executable version of my project, so I'm now trying to figure out how to do the same thing
  with my executable file as the server instead of LabView. Here's a simplified version are
  My VBA code:

  I replaced LabView here with the name of my server. The code
  failure of the CreateObject method with the following error:

  Things, I'm pretty sure I'm doing it correctly:
  -L'application is configured as an ActiveX server in the build options
  -J' ran the VI once and close/re-open it just after each build before trying the
  worksheet
  -In excel, VBA method is configured to reference the type library of the server.
  -J' have LabView itself closed when I run the .exe

  It's interesting - I'll have to look into the issue. In the meantime, I found a solution.

  It's quite mysterious, but it seems that all I had to do was make sure you only the type library of the server executable has been referenced in VBA (no LabView or OLE type library) and declare the variable app as object, rather than MyServerName.Application. Honestly, I have no idea why this works, but it does. Also, I learned that you need to use the executable file paths, which are a little different than the paths of project files.

  Hola. Estoy using el report generation Toolkit 1.0.1 para traspasar datos una tabla texting an Excel 2003 SP3.

  Dentro the hay una columna date tabla con formato DD/MM/YYYY HH: mmS (example 11/06/2009 09:35:12 where 6 are el dia y 11 is the my)

  Al usar easy Excel Table toda the tabla to pasa correctamente, pero if a date tiene el campo DD 13, hoja of excel appears invertida en menor (MM/DD/YYYY HH: mmS)

  No problema are no excel because if copio y pego esos campos of text directly no me los becomes. Lo me interesa are los the tabla of SMS texting me aparezcan en excel sin any cambio y por lo visto durante the export to hace alguna conversion.

  Problem solved (well, sort of)

  With Excel 2000 date of export with the right format.

  In my case (excel 2003) I change the date format to "hh: MM/DD/MM/YYYY -S ' before export if excel interprets as pure text.

  I am currently writing program for Labview data to Excel.

  I did a file with graphics model in each excel worksheet and I want to choose a given chart (2) in a given worksheet (4) to define the Data Source.

  My problem is that SetSourceData, method seems to work I use it (see Vi).

  I think that this may have been covered, but if anyone noticed all the differences in the properties of the ActiveX or methods in labview when working with excellent 2007 versus excel 2010? I know at one point Microsoft had changed a few things excellent 97-2003 "and instead select 'value' in your method, you must now choose"value 2". Is the real wait even for excel 2010? I am currently using excel 2007 at work and 2000 at home, and when I opened my code at home, my call nodes 'have the wrong son' still all required entries are correct. Same code on excel 2007; lot of son and the code will be run. I'm just curious to know if anyone has tried to use labview 2010 and excel 2010 together and made a work? I'm opening 1 workbook and wrote to 4 different excel sheets using Windows XP, excel 2007 at work and have windows 7 and want to use excel 2010 home and prefers no problem or to all the least know what are potential problems. Sorry if this confusion. I think it's the best way I can explain that I have MY head wrapped around it yet.  I do not want to write the same code twice for different versions of excel. (write and test at home, then re - write at work)

  While I don't have excel 2010 available to try and see, Microsoft (and MSDN) has a huge amount of information about calls in all versions of Excel.

  Search the forums and you will find hundreds of examples (or even thousands) of how to get the LabVIEW data in Excel.  From there, you can create your chart in Excel.  Very likely, you will want to use ActiveX functions in LabVIEW to communicate directly with an Excel spreadsheet.

• Adding picture to excel is not saved with the report

  I'm trying to compile a report in excel using Labview, in which I have to insert an image of a certain size in a certain range of cells. Everything is good and correct picture adding to Excel in my development computer and fix to save the report. When I did an executable Labview working with Excel 2007, I noticed the picture is added to the model then I save report and close. When I open the generated report photo cells were empty and a reference to the image is instead.

  It seems to me that the report could not save the inserted picture.

  I would like to mention that the image is added to an excel template that is not any control of image, but is added using the box in excel tools.

  Is a way to set a property in excel 2007 to save the image with the report that I do not know?

  You have the report generation tool? If so, the VI of graph Easy Excel has an entry for this.

  If you don't have the Toolbox, then you need to use ActiveX. Please do a search on the use of the ActiveX (there are examples provided with LabVIEW) to control Excel. Also, there are many examples in the thread Excel. NOTE: DON'T POST QUESTIONS IN THIS THREAD.

  In the end, you will need to search for information contained in MSDN.

  I'm creating a program where I would like to scan a barcode in LV and there LV scan a spreadsheet excel for this barcode and returns the data in this row. I found an example online that allows the discovery of bar code number in excel, but I'm not coming with a strange issue when you try to view the information in this row. My program is the correct barcode in all cases. Only when I get the number of rank 1 line information will be correct. When I enter the information in row 2 lets say it shows the information of line 3. When I enter the tier 3 program line 5 information display. Attached is my draft of the code (this is my first stab at ActiveX control so bear with it please) and a worksheet example I created with some information on how the program works. I have checked the other posts for similar problems and could not find one this hepls with my particular issue. I also checked the thread specific excel but found no link to the code that can help. Any help is appreciated. IM thinking that I'm more looking for something, but since this is my first shot at this type of programming im not very well what it is. Thanks in advance for any information.

  In any case your mistake is that you don't want to connect the line found on all of the methods of Range.Item (get). You must connect a constant of 1 for 'Row' parameters for these two. As you operate on a found range, you don't want to change the line.

  As it is now your VI does not close Excel when finished. The Excel process continues to run in the background. See the example with LabVIEW, which closes Excel when finished.
