Laptop restart automatically while idle
I am running Vista and IE8 on a Dell Inspiron 1521 laptop. I managed to install SP2.
Now my laptop is restart spontaneously when I'm away from him. The laptop is NOT in standby or Hibernate mode, but the screen saver is on. This can happen anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes of non-use. Sometimes this will happen twice in a row. When I go to re-open IE8 or Windows Live Mail, he has me even ALL of my accounts. I have to connect again to all my Web pages. This happened only since I've upgraded to SP2.
Any suggestions?
Hi mgcoop,
Thanks for posting answers.microsoft.com
It sounds like possibly hardware drivers, maybe something to review in to determine whether something can be up to date with the latest driver/firmware requirements. Did you visit the hardware manufacturer's Web site to obtain the latest Windows Vista compatible drivers? If this isn't the case, please do and update in the world since the Bios, Firmware, driver video card driver, network card and all other hardware drivers that may be available. You can also visit www.dell.com to see if they offered any updates.
It is the belief in the pilot being the issue;
1. it worked before the SP2 update
2. now, it is not in sleep or Hibernate - mode but IE8 / Windows live mail disconnects me... then in the second post, that you created you referenced - I'm actually see the computer start from the other end of the room. Motorized e community, he immediately starts with a black screen.
Something is not be released when the system turns off. He is probably trying to go to sleep/hibernation mode and cause crash. Whenever this happens, it is usually a driver problem. An update of the driver is the usual determination, however, it may be also that the system must have a comprehensive health check ran to check if there are defective components. Let me start with the hardware drivers. IE8 and Windows Live Mail are probably involved apparently because they use several sets of pilot to commit to the internet via the network.
Update all drivers, if possible, and your system is under warranty, perform a checkup with your equipment supplier.
Finally, you can view the Windows Event Viewer to determine if the issue is noticed in the logs to isolate the cause.
To view the event viewer,
1. click on start ORB
2. look for the line type "Event Viewer" without the quotes. In the list, click on Event Viewer programs.
3. check under Applications and Services logs - extends to see all the subtitles - select newspapers of material.
Look for red error events that show all time related to the known issue. Log the ID of the EVENT SOURCE and any relevant Verbiage that may be associated with the question in the community forum for help.
Please keep us advised invovling the question for other suggestions according to the needs of the user community.
Kind regards

There is a document using address type codes 0 x in the PSC 2355. This document can be found here.
If this error appears when printing and idling, then I would say that this is probably an internal hardware issue with this printer.

Satellite A500-17 x restart automatically if I play Warhammer
Hello
I just bought a Satellite A500-17 x a few days ago. There is a very big prblem with laptop is.When I play the game Warhammer Online, the laptop will automatically resart every time. Little time is 10 minutes, sometimes is 20minuts. First time I thought is a
problem of temperature but the laptop isn't too hot anyway. I have try to disable the restart to see there is no information, unluckly the laoptop always restart automatically when I play the game. Can help me Fig that out?
Hello
This only happens if you play Warhammer Online or in other games too? Have you noticed this problem only on Windows?
At the moment it is not easy to say why this happens, but you need to update the display driver. Check the Toshiba site for an update:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download driversIt is important that you use a display of a 3rd party site driver because only Toshiba drivers have overheating protection.
In addition, it would be interesting to know what operating system you are running. Is it preinstalled OS from Toshiba or another?

Satellite A60 restarts automatically displaying a blue screen
I have a Toshiba Satellite A60 two years old, recently, I noticed a problem where suddenly the computer restarts automatically, in the first, showing a blue screen with white text for a glimpse of a second. Also what difference does update the BIOS?
Hi Mustafa
The blue screen of death appears usually due to hardware failure or serious malfunction of software.
These two issues are possible on your device.
Please see this FAQ Toshiba on disabling automatic Windows XP restart after a system failure:
http://support.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/FAQ5B01770000R01.htmIf the error message appears again, so you can see all the details of this message and then it should be possible to detect the reason why it happens.
PS: Extra, you can try to recover the laptop with the restore CD provided. Maybe this will solve this problem.

Vostro 3500 restart automatically after a
I have a Dell Vostro 3500 which restarts automatically once I have stop my laptop and unplug the power cord. I also observed that light scroll in "keyboard and device lights" stays on. The only solution I have is to force the judgment that it restarts and then remove the dough every time.
Wondering if anyone in the forum also seen this sort of question and have a solution.
There is no error of this combination LED codes in Vostro™. I also shot "Automatically restart on error" in the Panel.
Hi riteshgarg,
I recommend diagnostics currently running on the computer (restart the computer now the FN and the power button). Let the full diagnosis and Note If you find any error message.
In addition, check in SafeMode with network. Restart the computer and press F8 on Dell logo and select Safe mode with network. Check to see if the same problem persists.

Toshiba laptop drive automatic error Code 10
Im getting a code 10 on my laptop drive automatic backup of toshiba. Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling just says cannot start the device. I think im missing a hardware device driver, but I can't find this driver anywhere online. Can someone please help:)
Hello Chan,
I found your posts on the Toshiba site, I take it no luck with the new replica? Also, have you tried to contact Toshiba technical support? It seems that they have heard of this problem before (based on many previous occasions this problem came) .f you don't have, I would say that you communicate with them.
That said, two possible solutions from another thread which may apply to your situation:
- Sometimes if a USB port not properly initialize on startup Windows installs a "unknown device" driver by default. Of course nothing plugged port at this time won't work. Sometimes it can continue to attribute this driver on the same port on subsequent reboots. Search for all entries 'unknown device' under Controllers USB in Device Manager then uninstall them. Right click on "Find the hardware changes" or reset must be reinstalled the correct USB device driver.
- The problem with the hard drive occurs if you turn on the USB drive after that the computer was started? Some interfaces of USB drive can interfere with Windows to detect the USB controller that they are connected correctly. Only seems to happen if the player is powered on while Windows starts.
I guess that Technical Support Toshiba offers these strategies you anyway, so you can as well try now them. Let me know if this helps you.
Kind regards
