  • HP LaserJet Pro 400 m401dne: print from Notepad

Hello! I have a new HP LaserJet Pro 400 m401dne. Everything works fine except when I try to print both sides of a Notepad document copies. As soon as I select the duplex option, the entire document disappears. We had an another HP LaserJet only printed on one side of the paper; who would have something to do with it? Still, I have this printer on the printer list but am selecting a new. I can print any other documents on 2 sides; just don't leave the notebook. Thanks for any help you can give me!

Thank you, HP! The warranty issue has been resolved and so was the two-sided printing problem. The technician had to install Universal printing and now I can print copies front and back of notebook and everywhere else.  )

  • LaserJet Pro 400 M451dn: Problems copying documents from the printer scanner

I use a Mark II of Canon Canoscan 9000F scanner to scan documents and copy them into the HP LaserJet Pro 400 451dn color laser printer.  I use the 'Copy' button on the front of the scanner function.  When a color or photo document is scanned this way the red and blue colors are reversed when it comes to the printer off.

Both the scanner and the printer work perfectly in all other situations.

Somehow the red and blue colors are to be swapped when a document goes to the scanner to the printer.

I called the Support Canon technique and they told me that they have never heard of this problem and have never had it reported before.  When you use the "Copy" button function there is no setting that can be done. The scanner copy what he sees.

So why the red and blue are exchanged on the printer?

    Teknishun

What happens if you scan the document itself to the computer and then print the scanned copy? If it is ok, then the question must be the scanner software which sends the document to the printer and has nothing to do with the printer. Sorry, but it's a hot issue.

  • Help! My M475dn MFP HP LaserJet Pro 400 color printer will NOT print!

HP LaserJet Pro 400 color MFP-M475dn-CE863A

Printer on a network and can connect to multiple computers that include: Mac OS X, Windows 7 and Windows XP.

When I try to print from my iMac, the print queue of the printer says "the printer is not connected.  When we try to print from Windows computers, it is in the right queue and does not print.  When I go the printer itself and try to print a page of demonstration or page supplies directly to him, it says on the screen which is printed, but nothing happens.  This is not hum or anything!  The port where the network cable is connected is switched on green that says HP which means that the network cable is connected.  We've had this printer for a year now, and something like that never happened.

I did not have any software or anything like that until this happened.  It was working fine on Saturday when we used it, but when we arrived at work today, he just decided that it would interrupt printing!

I'm puzzled!  I tried 'ping' IP address of the printer from my iMac and it pings fine.  Does anyone have advice?

(I tried to make of the obvious like too switch the printer on and off and shutting the computer down and nothing!)

Okay, so I feel a bit stupid right now.  I decided that I would be closed the printer for about an hour to see if it was there, and what you know-it has been!  I had to turn it off several times before but I guess it wasn't long enough.  What a pain!

Thanks to everyone who took the time to read this!  Sorry to waste time everyone!

  • MFP HP LaserJet Pro 400 M425dn will not print the text to format 72 points or more

My workplace has recently bought a M425dn of MFP HP LaserJet Pro 400 all-in-one printer. It works perfectly except for the fact that it will not print text that is 72 points or larger in size. I tried many fonts that are installed with Windows, and all them print correctly to the point size 71.5 or smaller; Another thing simply does not appear in prints. Content which is of size to 72 points or more * fact * affect the flow of the content printed on the page, however. It's like the 72 points or larger text takes up space, but it is completely invisible on the printed page.

I tested using Microsoft Word 2002 on three separate computers, of which two have installed Windows 7 and Windows Vista installed. The problem is the same on all three computers. The printer is connected via an ethernet cable to our wired network. I have installed the printer software included, and I don't think that there are updates for it that have not been installed up to this point.

Any thoughts on how to solve this problem?

Hello, I just made an account to solve this problem for you guys because it has been a puzzle to me also...

I apologize before the huge hand for the terrible grammar and punctuation that I'm in a hurry

Now it does not work for everyone but I fixed it on my machine with the following

now before you print it... .use (ctrl + p) in your text editor to open the print window, click (properties), and then navigate to the tab (Advanced) now, I have a section called the characteristics of the printer in this category there is an option to 'send truetype as bitmap' activate this and see if it can help someone of you, for me, with this PERMIT I can print any font size my processor will allow me to type

    in my machine's plug

    Reference Dell d6420

    printer itself is

    HP laserjet 200 color m276

    printer driver is

I understand that this printer and driver is not identical to yours in itself, but the nature of these drivers makes it highly likely that this solution works for most of you

  • Lost password - M401 of printer HP LaserJet Pro 400 series

    Hi all

We have a years M401 of printer HP LaserJet Pro 400 series(touch screen model), a fo our former employee requested a password. Nobody knows this password and need to change the IP address of the printer.

I'm looking to do a factory reset. What I found on the user guide, the procedure would be:

Restore the default values set in the factory (touch panel)
    1. from the home screen on the product control panel, press the Setup button.
    2. highlight and press the Service menu.
    3. highlight and press the default button and then press the OK button.
    The product automatically restarts.

The problem is that when I touch "service" menu, the password prompt prevents me from going to the next menu. Is there another way to do a factory reset on this printer? A button physics somewere? Something to do with the power button may be?

Thank you very much for your help!

    Oliver

    I found how do:

After a the NVRAM initialization, reconfigure all computers that print to this product so that the computer can recognize the product.
  • LaserJet Pro 400 M451nw: Laserjet Pro 400 prints documents upside down

My Laserjet Pro 400 prints documents upside down.  This only happens when you print in black and white, and from certain applications.  Files PDF and Word documents print very well, as plain txt files and files from my accounting software, but files CorelDraw and images in Photoshop CS5 reverse print.

If I saved a CorelDraw file in PDF format, it will print correctly, but not the native file of COR.

From Photoshop, it makes no difference what file format I print - jpeg, tif or even a file not saved - all printed reversed if I select black and white.

Colour printing is fine for all applications.

Like most of my needs to print b & w, I the printer defined as it as default and just change color when the need arises, but it means I lose lots of toner if I don't remember to print in color in CorelDraw or Photoshop.  Printing an image to grayscale in color also gives the evil eye.

    Any help appreciated.

    Hello

Try to use a PCL5 driver, which is likely to solve such a.

First, open the control panel > devices and printers, right click on the printer and select printer properties.

Open the Ports tab, and take note of the path selected for the printer, and then close this dialog box.

Download and install the driver HP UPD PCL5, follow the installation by selecting the traditional model.

Follow the wizard of printwr indicated by selecting the same port as used by the original and complete its installation driver.

The UPD driver can be downloaded from the following link:

    http://h20566.www2.HP.com/hpsc/SWD/public/detail?sp4ts.Oid=4157320&swItemId=ds_99378_6&swEnvOid=4158

Once you have finished, try to print using the HP Universal printing PCL 5 driver and check for the difference.

Please let me know if this can help,

  • LaserJet pro 400 m451nw - Print is too dark

I have a LaserJet Pro 400 M451nw color, and every time I print any type of blue, it prints really dark.  Tonight, the blue on my monitor was a royal blue, and blue printed was almost black. I reduced the blue on the graph, but it's still not royal blue.  The program I use is MS Publisher 2013.

Is it possible for me to adjust the parameters of the cyan cartridge, so it will not print so dark?

  • HP LaserJet Pro M 400 401 watermark won't go away running iMac OSX 10.5.8

I bought a HP LaserJet Pro 400M401printer about 7 weeks ago.  It worked fine for a month and then suddenly, without warning, I started to see the word 'PROJECT' to stencil in watermark on all that I printed.  The watermark in the window of the printer is 'Off '. (He has never been turned on.)  I searched for software updates and couldn't find one.

This does not happen when printing with any other device, including a Mac laptop.

Which means I can't use this new printer.  It is useless until this issue is resolved.  Help, please!

    Ho agaicha,.

I've seen this happen a couple of times.  I'll keep looking for a real resolution, but in the meantime, I found a work around that have been using people.

    This thread: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Mac-Printing-and-Scanning/the-word-quot-draft-quot-prints-on-all-documents-from-the/td-p/1833805

I had the same problem.  The word 'PROJECT' printed on the pages of all applications within Mac OS X 10.5.8.  The printer at the school an M551 color HP LaserJet 500, which is very similar to the LaserJet Pro 400 m401dn in this thread.  'DRAFT' in contour, printed letters on MS Word documents (Mac Office 2008), PDF documents and documents TextEdit.  Some people mentioned that there is a update driver software or utility printer HP with Snow Leopard, Mac OS X 10.6, which fixes this problem.  However, none of these updates were available for 10.5.8.  (I wondered if pilot House HP users, HP Officejet Pro 8500 all-in-One Printer A909a, might have caused a conflict with the HP 500 M551 somehow).  I searched online forums.  In the end, I added a printer preset.  You can do this by opening Text Edit and typing a few words.  Then go to file > print, pretend to print.  Be sure to choose the arrow next to the name of the printer to display under additional options.  Under Orientation, he'll most likely tell TextEdit or layout.  Look through the options in the drop-down list for a watermark option.  He could be under the characteristics of the printer.  Watermark already will be probably disabled, which means it's supposed to be turned off.  Obviously, if you read this thread, you always get the printed word "DRAFT", even if the printer says that watermark is off.  My solution was to create a white watermark.  Place a check next to the watermark option.  Where it gives you the option for the watermark text, move the drop-down list to select "custom".  Then type in the text box.  Then, next to predefined settings, choose the drop-down list and save as.  Assign a name to the screening.  I called mine NoWatermark.  Save/apply if necessary.  Now, instead of choosing the 'Standard' preset printer, the user chooses the "NoWatermark" preset to print with that printer.  Once I did, there was no text "DRAFT" printed on the pages.

I hope this is useful at the moment.

  • LaserJet Pro 400 MFP: LaserJet Pro 400 prints not Google Chrome

Sorry, please answer my question in the forum somewhere but I can't find.

Since I got my new LaserJet Pro 400 MFP I can print is no longer things such as my weekly payroll tax receipts.  I use Google Chrome.  When I try to print, I get only the options to 'Save' or 'Cancel' so I have to save it, then go to My Documents, find it and print it out.  I would really like to continue to use Google Chrome, so it's an another printer driver that I need to use?  Thank you!

    Hello

You need not of any other driver, just point Google chrome to the right pair...

Google chrome opens the print dialog box, and then press the button change.
Select your printer from the list instead of the default save as PDF option and try to print again.

  • LaserJet Pro 400: Watermark not printing on Laserjet Pro 400 on Windows 8

On the computer of Windows 8, watermark does not print on Laserjet Pro 400 connected by USB. Please note: the function watermark works on other printers not HP, as our networked Ricoh copiers. The printer prints a watermark on a Windows 7 computer. Using the driver package LJM351_M451_Series-12200-drv_installer.

Very hard to advise without additional evidence (such as samples).

With my Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit system, I can print watermarks on my LaserJet Pro MFP color 400 M475dn (equivalent of MFP M451) device.

Attached is a zip container file:

    • Small text in the abcde.txt file that contains the text "abcde".
    • Print file abcde.prn contains the print job generated by opening the text file in Notepad and by printing the document (using the driver of HP LJ300-400 color MFP M375-M475 PCL 6 (61.120.5.12262) UPD version 5.3.0.12262), by specifying the "SAMPLE" watermark with the default settings; exit 'captured' by using the option "print to a file.
    • Text file abcde.prn_analysis.txt contains an analysis of the contents of the print queue.
    • PDF file abcde_scan.pdf shows a scan of the printed output by sending the contents of the direct .prn file to the printer port.

Try to send the contents of the .prn file direct to your printer port; for USB connect, you must use something like:

    copy /b abcde.prn \\computer-name\share

in a Windows command prompt session, where:

    the computer name is the name of the workstation;

share is a share of the Windows printer instance name.

The resultant prints show the watermark of the SAMPLE ?

If so, then the printer handles the commands to the printer (in this case using PCL XL) OK.

Can generate something similar to your driver for analysis?

[You will probably need help moderating to attach files in this forum].

  • LaserJet Pro 400 M401n: How to set the margins for binding up and left for LaserJet Pro 400 M401n

I am connected to ePremis (medical site) that allows me to print the selected medical forms. ePremis uses the default printer to print the selected form.  The selected form should be printed on a preprinted form that I load into the tray of the printer.

The problem is that ePremis does not provide an option to set gutter margins and print aligns correctly with my pre-printed form. The print position is a little weak and must also be shifted a little to the left. I need to reduce the high binding margin to move the position of superior print on the page and the left binding margin must also be reduced to move the print a little position to the left so that the printed data will properly align with my pre-printed form.

Since ePremis does not offer an option to set the margins of the gutter, I need to be able to set the margins of the gutter through the printer driver, but there is also no option provided by the printer driver dialog box to set the margins of the gutter.  :-(

Is it possible to set the printer LaserJet Pro 400 gutter margins?  I see the margins left and right options in the driver dialog box printer, but they are grayed out and cannot be changed.

I have another printer, Kyocera laser printer, and I don't have this problem with the Kyocera because it offers the possibility to set gutter margins in the printer driver dialog.  I wonder why the LaserJet Pro 400 does not provide this option?

I perhaps could solve this problem by sending PCL6 commands to the printer before printing?  I'm a programmer and am open to this option if it would work.

Your help would be much appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

Setting margins generally depends on demand - but (you say) that your application does not allow this.

Some printers provide functionality of saving images , whereby the position of the image of the page onto a physical sheet can be adjusted to the printer, usually on a basis of by-tray.

For example, with my Laserjet Pro MFP color 400 M475dn, the appropriate menu/menu item is described as follows:

    Note:

    • This setting applies to the bar up this that changed, so will have an impact on all the tasks using the specified status bar.
    • Not all printers support these features - I have no idea if your LaserJet M401 exercises or not.

With regard to the '... sending the commands to the printer before printing... PCL6«» :

    • PCL6 (PCL XL) rather more autonomous than PCL5is, so I'm pretty sure that nothing you can "send" to the device to influence the outcome of the following printing.
    • Even with PCL5 print jobs, standard printer drivers are "overcome and-tail' with universal output language (UEL) escape sequences (which reset the device to the market environment (user - default)), which would be too mount sequences exhaust specific PCL5 previously sent to the device.
