LaserJet MFP M127fn Pro: Unable to update the firmware on M127fn

Hi and thanks for the support.

I can't update the firmware.

I downloaded firmware update and it launched.

It does not find the printer.

I'm sure that the rated requirements.

I can print.

It is turned on and connected via USB.

He does not sleep.

There seems to not be any error/malfunction.

I tried as an administrator.

I have some unrecognized devices in Device Manager. Perhaps, which could be related? Something with the USB drivers, maybe?

Hi mightyiam ,

Thanks for letting me know. Since you are able to print with the older USB cable, it should not be a problem. Now if you had intermittent printing problems, then it could very well be caused by the cable. If you have a spare a kicking around, you could try, just to exclude.

As the firmware will not update, I suggest to call our technical support at the 800-474-6836 and inquire about a replacement printer. If you don't care to worry about the update of the firmware, you can decide what you want to do. If you do not live in the United States / Canada region, please click the link below to get help from your region number.

I'm trying to update the firmware on my HP Officejet Pro X451dw (CN463A), but the firmware update fails with the error "This Firmware Updater does not contain updates for your device." More precisely:

    1. With the help of EWS, I confirmed that my current firmware is very old (it lists the firmware version of BWP1CN1315FR, which means 1315FR, right?, dating almost the time I bought the printer about 3 years ago).

  • M177fw MFP: Color Laserjet MFP M177fw Pro do not leave the page logo star HP & energy and go to the home page

I have a HP Color Laserjet Pro M177fw MFP multifunction printer.  When I power on, I get the HP & Energy Star logos on the touch screen of the printer, but then it crashes and the screen lights up.  My MacBook Pro will see the printer (I'm wired to it via a USB cable) and it will start to print, but crashes at halfway trhrough sending data from the computer to the printer.  Is there a way to reset the printer to its default settings (first anniversary)?

    Hi Audiomic,

I can provide some measures that could help solve the problem.

    1. try to reset the printer. Powered on, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer, then wait 60 seconds. Reconnect the power cord to the printer and turn it back on the power. Wait for the printer to initialize.

    2. If the problem persists, try to download and install the latest version of the software package. The most recent update is 20160525.  You can find the update here. Click Download and follow the instructions to install the update via the USB port.

    3. If the update does not work, I recommend this HP forum thread going and asking that the support agent send you instructions to perform a NVRAM reset.

This last step is the only way I know to do a factory reset if the screen is frozen.

  • HP Laserjet MFP M425 Pro: Cannot scan to the computer using MFPM425

You just bought a new M425 MFP.  There is no functionality of "Scan to PC", rather) 1 USB-to-scan, scan) 2 to 3) Scan to Email or network folder.  I want to be able to use the function scan to scan directly to my PC and a pdf format.  There have been a few previous posts regarding the use of "Windows Fax and Scan" but who doesn't have a .pdf option.  Other posts talk about using "scan HP from your PC-software" is "HP scanning software" a separate download?  Other options?  Thanks for your help.

    Hello

Scanning to a computer from the front panel is ot supported on many devices like the M425 Laserjet.

If the printer is connected to the network, you can set a shared network folder and scan PDF out of the façade, a being defined as follows:

    http://h20566.www2.HP.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?sp4ts.Oid=5096243&docid=emr_na-c03463750&docLocale=en_US

If you prefer to use the installation of scanning software HP full software functionality on your PC, scanning can be started from the software scanning HP on your PC, and not the front of the printer.

Full features software can be downloaded below:

    http://h20566.www2.HP.com/hpsc/SWD/public/detail?sp4ts.Oid=5096245&swItemId=ma_104479_4&swEnvOid=4063#

Then the HP scanning software will be available under the start menu > programs > HP > printers folder.

    Hey @HJW1,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I see that you encounter some problems with the connection of your series M277 Laserjet Printer to your wireless network. I can help you with that.

To start, make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector. Once done:
    Turn the printer off.

While the printer is turned off, disconnect the power cable from the back of the router for a minute.

When the lights come back on the router, turn on the printer.

After the above, you should be able to connect the printer to your wireless network. If you can't, please let me know what happens when you try to connect to the network now. If you are able to connect, click on accept solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. The two icons are below this post.

  • LaserJet MFP M276nw Pro: Very satisfied with the M276nw MFP

I am EXTREMELY satisfied with this printer.  In little more than a year (just outside the warranty) this expensive priter became useless.

It says there is a jam in the output shaft, but it is clearly not jammed paper anywhere inside the printer.

Even more frustrating, there is no troubleshooting instructions anywhere or places to buy spare parts to repair what is wrong with the stupid thing.  Also, no place to consider for repairs.  I don't need be sent again the brochure "how to clear a jam!  I need to know how to troubleshoot and fix what is broken inside the printer.  No doubt some sensor stupid out crapped.

I guess I should just bought a crap printer $75 if the expensive may not even last year and are completely irreparable.

Completely disassembled printer according to the instructions in the service manual and found a small piece of paper, raising one of the indicators of near the exit roller.  Apparently it must have been in the stack of paper once it has been loaded into the printer.  It's only visible and accessible after a complete tear down.

Far as I can tell the service manuals are not available on the HP site...  You guys really should have these available on your site.  I couldn't find on external sites.

  • Color LaserJet MFP M277dw Pro: MFP M277dw unable to connect to wifi

I just bought the Color LaserJet MFP M277dw Pro, and I can't connect to wifi. I have it connected via a USB cable and it works fine, it's just that I can't seem to connect to my wifi. The wifi seems fine, just connect my existing devices right (MacBook, iPhone, iPad). It finds the network, but it seems to expire when I put the password to connect.

    Hi @StephanieB2,

If this helps you to find a solution, please click on the button "Accept as Solution" down below in this message. It's really weird that the printer is expire when you put the network password.

Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (do not use a hub or a surge protector) This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.

You can also configure the printer on the wireless network, thanks to the Wi - Fi Direct connection.

Tap the icon on the screen of the printer wireless.

Select the Wi - Fi Direct connection.

Turn it on, if it isn't already, and if there is a code it marks down.

Then on the Mac, go to the airport icon and connect to the network printer. (Direct 69 HP Laserjet M277)

If requested a code or password, put the one you noted.

Then open Safari and type 192.168.223.1.

He will be responsible: the printer Web server integrated.

    Click the network tab.

On the left side of the window, select Wireless Network Configuration and fill your information.

    Apply the settings.

Can connect you to your network.

    Then add the printer.

Click on the Apple menu, click System Preferences.
Scanners & printers, then click the plus sign +.

Select the printer in the list.

Select your printer from the drop-down and click on the Add button.

    Test the printer.

If there is anything else I can help you, let me know. Thank you.

  • Color LaserJet MFP M477fdn Pro: M477 Software Installation fails at 99%

Like others who have posted here, I have been unable to get the printer software to complete the installation. The printer is a Color LaserJet Pro MFP M477fdn, 3 months. I'm trying to install the software on a new workstation HP Z240 performing Windows 10 (64-bit). The connection is via USB cable. The printer and the software have been previously used with a Windows 7 machine without problem.

I tried, repeatedly, to install the software from the disc supplied with the printer and also a 126.6 mb download HP Color LaserJet MFP printer M477 Pro series full software and drivers. The results are the same with a source - installation apparently progresses up to connect it the indicator product of progression from screen reached 99%, how it gives an error message "a Setup operation took too long to run. It is a fatal error, preventing the use of the product. Restart your computer and run this installer again. If the problem persists, please visit the web site of product support for your product. "It takes about 20 minutes for the phase of installation to go from 0 to 99%, and then later hooked up to 99% for 2-5 minutes, the error message is displayed.

I am able to print to this printer, but at least do not have the ability to scan from the computer there is no indication that the I.R.I.S. OCR software is installed.

I had care of do not connect USB until you are educated.

I tried repeating the installation without uninstalling first and get the same result.

I used the uninstall contained the disk feature, and have deleted the printer to the computer using the Panel between the installation attempts.

I tried to do a right click to run the installer as administrator and get the same result.

I tried to install after clean boots with turned off Windows Firewall and all functions of the software Norton Internet Security including its function of firewall turned off.

The event viewer displays none error entry at all and no entry identifies HP as the source of an event.

I tried to connect via USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports.

I cleaned recycle them and temporary folders.

I have updated the firmware of the printer to the 20160331 version.

Printed printer configuration report will not display any errors, nor that the printer itself indicates something is wrong and confirms the update of the firmware.

I deselected the optional software, the devices experience HP and I.R.I.S. OCR, trying to install only the required files two more program scanning HP.

Thanks for any help solving this.

I think I understood the question, 10 windows installs its own driver, and the installation program expects the hp driver to install.

DO this FOR THE HP INSTALLER PROCESS (when the percentage meter goes)

    1. go into the Device Manager and find the printer in the list of devices

    2. right click on the printer and select "Update Driver software"

    3. click on "Browse my computer for driver software".

    4. choose "Let Me pick one...» »

    5. Select the named driver: HP Color LaserJet MFP M477 PCL-6 Pro (make sure it's one with a dash between the pcl and 6!)

    6. click next and back to the installation of hp box and must now see the printer and continue the installation.
