I quoted the "L-ASA-SSL-50 =" but confused about licensing ASA.

Please let me know if it's the right one or should I cite something else?

Kindly let me know if we need to buy the client software for client based SSL VPN?

Kind regards

Farhan.

If the fares user requests the license 50 so I think because it is a pretty clear indication that they are interested in the premium license on this 5520 Essentials license would give them the total number of VPN connections that the platform supports (750 for the 5520).

Farhan may want to talk with the user know if the Essentials license would give them what they want. If YES Essentials license is much cheaper than the Premium license. What you get with the premium license you do not get with the Essentials license is clientless VPN support and support for things like the assessment distance. But for regular client access VPN Essentials license is often enough.

Also note that these licenses grant users access when using the regular PC platforms. If you want users to access using mobile devices like smart phones, then you also need the AnyConnecct for the Mobile license.

Hi, hoping someone can shed some light on what I'm just more confused over trying to get by. Not sure if this goes in the section IP Telehpony or here...

We have an ASA 5510 with the base license. We need to install IP phones to home teleworkers, and I understand there are Cisco IP phones that have built-in VPN clients to enable a tunnel to the central private network. IT seems that you can't use Anyconnect VPN to do this, and I am trying to establish what upgrade licenses, we must apply to the ASA, as both Anyconnect licenses that you get for free on the SAA is not enough.

    This is the phone that we seek;

It shows "AnyConnect for Linksys phone: Disabled", it is the same for the Cisco IP phones? It is the kind of specific license, should I seek for Anyconnect on IP phones or will Essentials?

    Hi Leo,

you will need 2 licenses: an Anyconnect Premium license and a permit «Anyconnect of Cisco VPN phone»

ASA 8.2 and earlier license "for Cisco VPN Phone" has been named "for phone Linksys' it's the same.

  • Licensing of ASA - AnyConnect

    Hello

I am looking to Anyconnect ASA5515-X licenses with the power of fire (ASA5515-FPWR-k9) but am a bit confused to for AnyConnect license options...

Can someone explain to me how it works?

I got a quote for an ASA5515-X-K9 previously with 50 premium SSL VPN licenses, but now I'm looking at the ASA5515-FPWR-k9, I can't work on the right option. Later that I got for 50 licenses AnyConnect more seems to be 10 times cheaper? Surely, it can't be the same thing?

Most of old roughly equate with the new more licenses (with no separate required Mobile license) and is generally sold as a term-based perpetual license vs.

The premium of the old maps to the Apex (no separate assessment Endpoint advanced required). It is sold only focused on the term (1, 3 or 5 years).

There is a guide AnyConnect directing partners and resellers to use.

  • On the inside interface to ASA5520 AnyConnect

We currently have a configuration where users connect within a firewall by using the ipsec client.

We are moving them to the anyconnect client but are unable to make it work, we can not even a page of webvpn inside.

When you are trying to connect with anyconnect ASA reports a failure of IKE initiator inside. and no tcp connection indicator.

We can't get an answer with Webvpn or I tried to use a different tcp on but webvpn port then the asa denies traffic even if there are

    without denying the rules.

    Any ideas anyone?

    What about Dean

Perfect and thanks for the update.

Pls kindly marks the message as replied to close the loop. Thank you.

  • Identity certificate replacing ASA5520 Anyconnect

I hope someone can give me a quick answer to my query, we currently have an asa remote access using Anyconnect with self-signed certificate facility and several users in the database of certificate that we use for the radius and certificate authentication.

I want to buy and get a signed certificate of trust CA (such as Verisign), and replace the current free signed certs.

My question is should I reset the current ASA CA server and replace the certificate user database? That is to say to start over.

No, you don't have to start from scratch. It is common to have the ASA-identity-CERT to a public certification authority, but user certificates are a private certification authority. With your change, get you exactly this scenario.

  • Cisco Anyconnect license upgrade Questions

    Hi all

So, we currently have a pair of failover ASA 5515 - X running at one of our sites. This serves as a VPN gateway for our users. I am migrating users from the old Cisco VPN client to the newest Cisco Anyconnect client. I have work and installing anyconnect. Meanwhile, I discovered that process to take care of TLS 1.1 and using the Anyconnect client, you must use the most recent 4.0 Anyconnect client. To use this client, you must have something license called a "Anyconnect more" I think it was a recent change of return in 2014. We currently have the Anyconnect Essentials license installed on the ASA pair. I discovered that not only it a license upgrade available for upgrade Anyconnect positive of the battery, but the Anyconnect Plus license is subscription now. Boo Cisco. But that's another debate.

I went ahead and reluctantly bought the upgrade license to upgrade Anyconnect positive of the battery. I am trying to understand however the affects of the installation of this license with respect to the current VPN functionality. Currently, we offer the following VPN options for our users:

RA IPSEC (IKE v1via former customer)

RA IPSEC (L2TP via the Windows client)

    SSL (Anyconnect 3.0)

We also use tunneling IPSEC of P2P (IKEv1 PSK) between two sites to serve as a link of relief when our primary site-to-site link fails.

If anyone knows what would be the effect on the current VPN functionality when installing my upgrade license? He turns off the older IPSEC IKEv1 feature? As I said I want to migrate to the newer platform users but still have need of the oldest customer work until this can be done. I have this in my current setup:

    WebVPN

    AnyConnect essentials

What happens on this command when I apply the new license?

Appreciate any help here. Thank you.

Addition of the new activation key and the client configuration somehow 4.x will not affect the IKEv1, L2TP or VPN SSL. "AnyConnect essentials" rest a command active and valid

It will give the ability to activate the advanced security features that require the 4.x client.

  • Cisco Anyconnect Essentials License - What is it

    Hello community.

I managed to install an ASA with Anyconnect. The Anyconnect client on my laptop works very well.

But why now to buy a Cisco Anyconnect Essentials License, what exactly is this license?

AnyConnect works fine without this license.

But I can not connect with my IPhone with the Cisco Anyconnect for Iphone App. should I buy the Anyconnect for Mobile license and this license just for a single device or all devices. Because this license is really cheap. Cisco licenses normally are expensiv.

Thank you and best regards patrick

If you have not all AnyConnect Premium licenses, then you are limited to two simultaneous connections if you do not have the license of anyConnect Essentials. You are right, for i-devices (and Android...) you need the AnyConnect Mobile license.

AnyConnect Essentials both AnyConnect Mobile are approved by ASA, not user connections. And AnyConnect Mobile needs AnyConnect essential or Preimium AnyConnect license must be activated.

  • Disable/remove Anyconnect mobile on SAA license?

    Hello

Recently installed the Anyconnect mobile license to allow users of iPhone/iPad to connect to our SSL VPN from Cisco ASA. However, we want to turn this feature off. Is it possible to remove or disable this license or may not allow users to connect successfully to our Cisco ASA Apple iOS environment?

    BR!

    Patrik

To remove the license, keep a copy of the current activation key you have. In this case, you want to reactivate the AnyConnect mobile license, then you can just reactivate using the current activation key.

To actually remove the license activation key AnyConnect, send an email to [email protected] / * /. Include a copy of 'see the version' and advise them that you want to get an activation without the AnyConnect Mobile license key. Once they provide you with the new activation key (which excludes the AnyConnect Mobile license), you can enter this new key on the SAA.

My cisco contact told me: 'you must only ASA-AC-M-5510.

can anyone confirm? I would like to be sure before buy you.

    Best regards

    Nicolas

    Yes, that is absolutely right.

Since you already have the AnyConnect Premium license for 50 users (SSL VPN peers: 50)

, then to connect mobile devices, all you need is the ASA-AC-M-5510.

  • ASA 8.4 (1) user AnyConnect Premium upgrade license

Before version 8.4 (1), Cisco has called their license name for SSL/VPN Premium AnyConnect SSL VPN users and currently the new name of the license is simply AnyConnect Premium.  In addition, the IOS show name amount users VPN/SSL enabled via your license (Exodus 2, 10, 25, 50,...) by running a 'show activation code"went under SSL VPN peers to peers Premium AnyConnect.

That said, my question is if the upgrade license 10 users to 25 users (L-ASA-SSL-10-25 = -

ASA 5500 SSL VPN 10 to 25 user Premium upgrade license) on a SAA before 8.4 (1) and an ASA with 8.4 (1) is always topical and the good part number make these upgrades for the two ASAs.  The description of this part number throws me because it says SSL VPN for Premium user, which was the name before 8.4 (1).  I couldn't find any documentation about this part number or to modernize the two ASAs 10 users to 25 users.

Can someone check this part number is perfectly fine to make these upgrades?  I appreciate any help or advice.

' L ASA-SSL-10-25 ' of Cisco is indeed part number correct to use for the upgrade of an ASA with 8.4 (1) a user of 10 to 25 AnyConnect Premium license user.

I agree that it would be clearer if they simply called it a "AnyConnect Premium" instead of SSL VPN license. This makes it much more confusing since the AnyConnect Essentials and Premium supports the SSL VPN client-oriented. Based on a browser (without customer) is a feature you get with Anyconnect Premium

  • Cisco AnyConnect do IPsec?

    Hi guys

I have a Cisco ASA5520 with software Version 8.2 (5) in place, most my users are Mac users and I am currently looking into Cisco AnyConnect in comparison using the VPN client.

    I have a few questions

    (1) Cisco AnyConnect does he use IPSec or is it soley based SSL VPN?

    (2) the license information I have in my ASA below, I understand that I can get max 750 vpn peers am however I have reason to say that this does not apply to Cisco AnyConnect peers? and with Cisco AnyConnect, I can only have 2 peers? Also, what are the options for mobility anyconnect for?

The devices allowed for this platform:

    The maximum physical Interfaces: unlimited

    (3) when you try to configure Cisco Anyconnect on the SAA by using ASDM, I noticed that I needed to download AnyConnect client images, but when I did this by downloading the .dmg for mac machines file I got the error message 'not an image valid of the SVC'. Is it because I'm under 8.2?

    Your help is highly appreciated

    Concerning

    Mohamed

    Hi Mohammad,.

I'll answer your questions one by one:

1 cisco Anyconnect version 3.0 and above all support SSL and IPSECv2 connection. If you want the user to connect using the Anyconnect client IPSECv2 then it will consume the SSL license and not the IPsec license however if you use IPSECv2 for connections such as vpn site to site then it will consume normal IPSec VPN license.

    2. one.  SSL VPN peers: this license gives you information about the number of users that can connect using SSL protocol for example using the Anyconnect and web portal customer also known as the clientless VPN based on. I see here there are only 2 licenses so at any given time only 2 users can connect successfully because 750 is the total number of licenses available for the VPN on the SAA, 698 only will be available for IPSec connections.

    b. Anyconnect for mobile: this license is required whenever a user connects from a Pocket like device: Iphone, Ipad, tablets etc.

    c. Anyconnect of Cisco VPN phone: Cisco IP phones have the ability to connect to an ASA remote using the SSL protocol and to enable this feature, you should have this license is activated on the SAA.

    d. Anyconnect essentials: Anyconnect there are two licenses, one > Anyconnect Premium and b > Anyconnect Essentials. AnyConnect essentials is less expensive as premium per report Anyconnect license. This license is for those who don't use webvpn or VPN without client. When the license is activated, the user can connect only to the Anyconnect VPN client.

    3. I don't know what image you use on the ASA. Please try the image named as anyconnect-macosx-i386 - 2.5.2010 - k9.pkg.

To apply the changes using the command line, put this image on disk0: and then type this command on the CLI.

    Image disk0:/anyconnect-macosx-i386-2.5.2010-k9.pkg SVC

Let me know if it helps.

    Thank you

    Vishnu Sharma

  • Terminology VPN licenses makes me crazy

Sorry if this question has been postponed, probably several times, but I simply can't have my head wrapped around the SSL VPN license thing. The documentation uses terminology that does match the output of the SHOW VERSION, at least not that I can see.

So, I have an ASA 5520. We ordered it added 100 SSLVPN licenses. Here is the output appropriate to see THE VERSION

The devices allowed for this platform:

    The maximum physical Interfaces: unlimited

    VLAN maximum: 150

    Internal hosts: unlimited

    Failover: Active/active

    VPN - A: enabled

    VPN-3DES-AES: enabled

    Security contexts: 2

    GTP/GPRS: disabled

    VPN SSL counterparts: 100

Total of the VPN peers: 750

    Sharing license: disabled

    AnyConnect for Mobile: disabled

    AnyConnect Cisco VPN phone: disabled

    AnyConnect Essentials: disabled

    Assessment of Advanced endpoint: disabled

Proxy sessions for the UC phone: 2

Total number of Sessions of Proxy UC: 2

    Botnet traffic filter: disabled

This platform includes an ASA 5520 VPN Plus license

So should what license I, exactly? AnyConnect Essentials is disabled, so it leads me to believe that I have a form any of premium Anyconect (it does not SAY that, he said only: 'VPN PLUS'). Cisco.com looking for part number ASA5520-VPN-PL =, which is the ASA 5520 with the VPN Plus license (without the user SSL 100 Add in) gets me squat. If I do not have a form of "premium anyconnect", why is it SAID that somewhere, instead of saying "this isn't anyconnect essentials, and you do not have these other advanced features?

I'll try to find a copy of our original order, which will show me all the part numbers, we bought, but I'm afraid that won't do me much good because it doesn't seem to be a comparative table of the licenses and features that maps the old method of doing things for example WEBVPN) to the new method ("ANYCONNECT").

Is the answer poking me in the eyes and I'm simply not noticing?

    Any help appreciated!

    Jim

The worm out pre 8.4 code HS has been confusing for many.  You currently have an AnyConnect Premium license that gives you full access to all features SSL AnyConnect VPN, clientless WebVPN, Cisco Secure Desktop, etc.  Your current license will allow 100 concurrent sessions or WebVPN clientless SSL VPN AnyConnect.  With 8.4, the worm out sh was changed to give you a more realistic licensing real you have enabled.  Here is an example of output from one of my ASAs lab for your reference.

The devices allowed for this platform:

The maximum physical Interfaces: 8 perpetual

    VLAN: 3 restricted DMZ

  • Cisco ise license command

    I have a question

    1. is it possible to install the Cisco ISE software on the server machine to physical HP (without solution VMware or without the use of SNS-3415-k9 cisco device)?

    2. for 2500 users online, I'll order L-ISE-BSE-2550, L-ISE-PLS-S-2500 and L-ISE-APX-S-2500 of basis, more and apex licenses. My question is HA (primary and secondary) application I need 2 licenses for each? (2 * L - ISE - BSE - 2550, 2 * L - ISE - PLS - S - 2500 and 2 * L - ISE - APX - S - 2500)

or just a license for each is enough?

    3. If I implement Cisco ISE and HA on VMware environment, can I 2 L-ISE-VM-K9 licenses for each VM machines? and also I need 2 licenses for each basic, plus, and at the apex?

    4. What is smart net Cisco and Cisco SASU? need to buy these for support and ticketing system?

    5. What is license for cisco anyconnect (L-AC-APX-1 year-G)?

    thnx in adv.

You can install ISE on a HP ONLY Server if you are using software virtualization (VMware or KVM).

The Guide of Installation of ISE sets out three options:

1 hardware appliance from cisco SNS

    2. virtual machine VMware

    3 Linux KVM.

The AnyConnect license is required to qualify with the features of the Apex. It is not installed on the ISE server, however.
