Licenses of merged view desktop licenses

Hi all

I try to connect two licenses that have been merged to my cluster (2 ESXi hosts). At the moment 100VMs are under license and the license key is attributed to two assets (ESX 1 and 2).

Another license for 10 machines have been grouped by VMware. The problem is that I'm not able to assign the two license keys for the assets. Single license key is accepted by clicking a radio button. This means that I can configure only the license for 100 or 10 desktops from view.

Y at - it an option / setting for this?

Thank you in advance!

You will need to enter your "MY VMware" and merge the two keys to license in 1 key with 110 machines.   Then add this key in the vCenter, assign it to the host of two and remove the old keys.   If you do not have access to licenses in "MY VMware" then you need to find someone who does to merge into a single key.

Does anyone have an idea what I can do to connect my desktop PC?

    Hi Toby,

Global policies, check if your remote control is set to "allow". Although playing all about you would have changed 'decline' which in my opinion, is originally not connect for the desktop, but you can download and run it locally (View Client with Local Mode operation).

    or

Your your user account which belonged to the small remote desktop users group is no longer part of the group which blocks access to remote desktop computer.

Above are a few assumptions based on the current changes in administrator mode which blocks access to remote desktop computers. Soultion can vary more information on your side.

  • T410 AiO customer CAPS, NUM, and scroll keyboard stop does not work with PCoIP view desktop computers

We have problems with our t410 AiO customers, where the CAPS, NUM and scroll stop lights on the keyboard do not work with view PCoIP desktop computers.

I found the below information and a work around:
If you use the Protocol PCoIP to display on a client system Ubuntu 10.04, the CAPS Lock, NUM Lock, and Scroll Lock lights on your keyboard do not work with desktop view. Although the lights do not work, the keys themselves work.
Solution: Set the following configuration in a configuration file, such as/etc/vmware/config:
    mks.keyboard.useXkbSetNamedIndicator = 'TRUE '.

The problem is this difficulty is already in place via the latest version of the HP, Z6A440, software that is installed within our Organization.

What I discovered, is that the model that we initially bought for the test doesn't have this problem.  However, the models that we ordered since that time, DO have the problem and the solution above does not work as expected.

The model originally ordered for test is still a customer of IOA t410... but there are 4 "under models' for customers of IOA t410... that we have to test is a H2W20AA, while those we receive and distribution are the H2W21AA model.

No idea why, when connected to the desktop from view, that models of H2W21AA have this problem?

H2W20AA is with Teradici PCoIP optimized, which can support PCoIP better, but H2W21AA is not with Teradici. That's the difference.

However, the issue that you are experiencing does not matter in fact, we have not heard of this problem before. I would suggest that you do the following to see if there is no change:

    1. Go to download the latest VMware View 2.3.4 for t410, follow the instructions to install.
    2. If suggestion 1 does not work for you, try to connect to another VM group or set up a new machine virtual clean
    3. Call HP service center to save your problem for further investigation if the suggestion above did not work

  • Crop the view Desktop pools in monthly basis can be considered a best practice?

Hi all, I have rearding investigation show desktop pools recompose, the following statement is true or false and if it is true tell me what is the reason for this action.

Each month, pools should be recomposed as a practice without change.

I guess it depends on the environment.  I usually do reconstructs monthly due to updates.  I have a small pool I ever Redial (unless I upgrade the Agent to view or something like that).

  • [View 5.3] Connection to security through Blast Server redirected to the Local IP address private view Desktop in Google Chrome

    Hello

I am currently facing a questions in my test harness which happens when I connect to public IP address on server security by the breath. No problem if I connect using view Client.

Using the breath, I can log on, select a desktop view, then the url of the Web page showing my ip Server security for about 10 seconds and then I was redirected to the private IP address of NAT from the desktop view target and of course I couldn't connect.

Note: The local private ip address redirection does not happens if I configured to connect to show the connection to the server through breath.

    I have:

    • Self-signed SSL installed without warnings
    • activated the tunnel to connect to the server
    • Tunneling on server security enabled
    • disabled all firewall for testing purposes
    • locally defined in the host file to resolve my domain name full of security server static IP used in my office. (vsecurity.icliq.com in this case)
    • required ports are configured with port forwarding in my router from office

I hope someone could throw some light on this issue. Thank you

    Eddy

Yes, the option of Blast Secure Gateway is used to ensure that Blast connections are routed from your browser by the server security (or connect to the server). That's what you want to access remotely. If you do not select this option, Blast connections will be direct to your virtual desktop. This is for internal connections.

It goes the same for PCoIP and PCoIP Secure Gateway.

  • Can I use a CD player or DVD with VMware View Desktops?

We wanted to enable our teachers the ability to play DVDs in the classroom. We use PCoIP and not RDP. We do not want to use the USB. Is the only solution to virutal cd\dvd mount?

You must use USB keys or virtual media as you said. Local disks will not pass through the client view, assuming that the solution that you want to use is seen on a desktop PC using the CD/DVD room.

If you use zero clients, here is a list of tested by Teradici drives: http://techsupport.teradici.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=15164&task=knowledge&questionID=566

  • Windows 7 view Desktop goes into a disconnected state?

    Hello

I have (1) Office of Windows 7 that enters a State disconnected once the user tries to log on.  I have (4) other VM Win7 in the same pool which are not affected by the issue.  Here's what happens:

1 user enters the credentials of the AD to display.

    2. the user receives the message "preparing the office" and the screen goes black as usual.

    3. from the console of vCenter, I see that the Win7 Office has the window 'Welcome' screen on the desktop.

    4. the user gets knocked back to the login view screen and the desktop Win7 displays "disconnected" in the admin view.

    5. from vCenter console, I see that the user is connected to the desktop computer.

6 user tries to log on again views and the screen goes black and back to the login view screen.  View the log of admin user shows Plug and unplug immediately.

    What I've tried so far:

1 uninstall and reinstall agent view.

    2 reinstall the Vmware tools

    Any ideas would be appreicated!

I assume you are using PCoIP. And you do not specify what type of pool you are running the virtual machine. Also which users use to access the virtual machine? (see customer, zero client...)

Review logs inside the VM (C:/Program/VMware/VDM/data logs - if i remember correctly). There, you could see exactly what is happening inside the virtual machine and why his abandonment of the connection.

    Saves the location:http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1027744

During the reinstallation of the tools and the agent, you must install tools first and then the agent.

    http://KB.VMware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalID=1028975

This could also be the case.

    Good luck

  • View Desktop resets every night zone

    Hello

I have problems at least 1 view Office 4.6 of Windows 7.  Every night, the virtual machine is recovering for a zone in Ireland and every morning I change back.  I checked the pool that this virtual office is and cannot find the settings to push a time zone of the virtual machine.  I connect to the desktop with a Cisco computer ThinClient.

I turned off the synchronization time with the host vmware tools option and which does not seem to solve the problem. Any suggestions?

    Joe

In my experience, the time zone on the VDI desktop gets defined in the client that connects.  There is a view GPO that will disable this synchronization and leave the time zone to whatever the default is.

  • Level of encryption between Wyse ThinOS and VMware View desktop

Can someone help me determine the level of encryption between my Wyse thin clients and virtual desktops.

I use the latest Wyse ThinOS and VMware View connection Server 4.0.

I have a manual desktop pool configured with things THAT RDP disabled. I'm also using smart card authentication.

With direct disabled RDP is a configuration of SSL tunnel for the connection to the server and the RDP session to the virtual desktop by tunnel through this SSL connection?

Yes that's right, although strictly that you should say server/connection security as if you use a security server, then this is endpoint of the tunnel rather than the CS.

  • After re-installing the agent of the view, the view Desktop cannot log on to the domain

    Hello

I have a problem with the administration of desktop view. Our clients use a view 4.0 environment. Every time when I re - installs the agent discovered in a machine of Office XP (Office pool deployed with the active composer), after rebooting the machine one connection at the level of the customer area microsoft is not possible.

Whenever I have to remove the computer from the ad domain, after that I had to take back this machine in the field. But I can not install the successful agent in the view, when the machine is member of the domain. So I remove the computer from the domain ad, re - install the agent and take back the machine in the field.

    So what is wrong?

Anyone have the same or a similar problem?

    Kind regards

    André

Can you please confirm if they are related clones?  If so this behavior is expected, approach correct and taken in charge for the update of the Agent is for example to do it on the master image and without the link clone himself and then perform a recomposition.

I believe that the cause of this boils down to 2 files:

    SIM.datsimvol.dat

Frankly I am still not exactly sure what these files specifically do.

  • Cannot connect to Horizon view Desktop with the persistent drive user's profile

I install a new pool of funds to Horizon 6. This will serve to staff supervisor who need their same desktop computers every time that they connect. The pool is set for the linked clones, but with records of enduring for user profiles. I put the user profile to be stored on a disk, persisting in the wizard of the Horizon. The persistent drive is on users 'Z' drive.

When I try to log in with one of the title, accounts, windows gives me this error:

The user profile service service has no logon. User profile cannot be loaded.

Is there something I need to change Active Directory / group policy? I've never dealt with before persistent disk systems. The VM OS is Windows 7 Pro x 64.

It seems fitting that profile does not know that it is supposed to be created on the persistent drive when I try to log in.

  • Opening a view desktop session RDP denied

I made a model of Windows 7, in which I modified with the domain administrator group policy to add the permission to 'Allow the local newspaper', ' opening on through Remote Desktop Services "," access this computer from the network.

But the thing is, I still can't log - on only one of these Windows 7 computers except with the domain administrator. for example, I created a TEST1 account in AD, while failure to log - we these Windows 7, which says "the requested session access is denied."

What we are supposed to do?

You just need to add the user to a local group users of remote desktop on your guest of your virtual machine (compmgmt.msc-> local users) operating system and groups-> users group from the Office to distance or you could do it with the AD Group Policy. First, I would try to add 1 user to a group local users of remote desktop on a VM and check if it works.

  • The user of VMware View desktop

    Hello

When a user login to VMware View for the first time they are assigned to a complete virtual machine, but their AD user account is not added to the local administrator group.

Is there a way to automate this?

Also, is there a way to force the sysprep command to add this machine to a specific OU in active directory?

    Thank you

    CS

    Hello.

Why they would be added to the local Administrators group?

I guess the best way to achieve this would be to add users to an ad group and add this group to the local administrator group.
