• Problem with the microsoft lifecam vx-5000 appication on my windows xp 32-bit

  I recently bought the lifecam vx-5000 and installed the software from the cd provided in the box. The webcam application fails and cannot open. It says that an error has occurred and must be closed. Also, the webcam is not detectable by Skype. I've download the latest version of the software (for my windows xp 32-bit) on the site but the problem still exists. What's not?

  I'm sorry for the delay in responding to you but I was not able to connect on my account.
  I realized that the problem was the program that follow the LifeCam.
  It doesn't have the option 'mirror' or 'reverse' functions.
  I solved my problem download and installation of software "ManyCam" on "baixaki. It has this feature and others.

  Original title: application with microsoft lifecam hd-5000 error.  My operating system is XP Sp3.

  I tried to download it from the microsoft site and I have the same problem.  After installation, I click on the lifecam 5000 and I get the following message:

  If I anwser or not it then closes.  How can I fix this problem?

• Microsoft LifeCam VX-5000 won't initialize. What should I do?

  I installed the program available in the disc that came with Microsoft LifeCam VX-5000. It seems to have installed correctly. When I click on the link on the desktop, the screen cam window opens and after a while gives the error message "initialization failed".

• LifeCam HD - 5000 Driver does not install

  Xindows XP Professional Version 2002 SP3

  I started with Lifecam 3.0 disc without success. I uninstalled and reinstalled several times. Now, I installed Lifecam 3.5, the download being Microsoft unsuccessfully. When I go to the Device Manager and try to update the driver, I get the error:

  There was a problem installing this hardware:

  HD-5000 - Microsoft LifeCam

  An error occurred during the installation of the device:

  The driver for this device is missing a necessary entry. Maybe it's because the file INF was written for Windows 95 or later. Contact your hardware vendor.

  Of course, the error makes no sense. The camera works very well for Skype and other purposes under the Ubuntu OS, but nothing for windows. Is there another driver? Every driver in the folder program files files are for VX cameras.

  Any thoughts?

  We installed the software, plugged the LifeCam at the USB port and it worked for 30 seconds.

  Now, he repeats to me "initialization error".  We went through the web site troubleshooting section and it's not helping.

  We called Microsoft support and they picked up our computer via LiveMeeting and solved the problem.  He said a piece of code has not loaded correctly and we would never have found the problem.  He was very helpful and fixed it without problem.
