Lightroom 6: cannot launch help

I installed the new 6 Lightroom from the creative cloud Panel. After having successfully installed, the shortcut is placed on the desktop. But when I double clicked on it (to launch the app), nothing happened. I tried the following
- set Lightroom to run in administrator mode
- the value of Lightroom to run in compatibility mode of Windows 8
- see the event log for any error message
- the scanning task manager is there is no instance of Lightroom
After all these things done, Lightroom 6 refused to start. BTW, I'm on Windows 8.1
Could you try log out of your CC desktop app, then reconnect again. Note that quitting and restarting the app is not the same thing. Hope that helps. Guido

Cloud programs don't use serial... numbers you, connect you to your cloud account paying to download & install & activate... you may need to sign out of the cloud and restart your computer and log into the cloud for things to work

Lightroom downloaded from the cloud could not launch. Going to try disconnecting preferences and not sign in always start Lightroom.

Hi, I get the error message following the launch CC15 attempt:
Cannot launch Adobe InDesign that you do not have sufficient permissions to access the preferences folders. Make sure that you have the appropriate permissions and then restart Adobe InDesign.
Any help appreciated as I passed the age trying to find a solution!

It seems your preferences and cache files have not all permissions. There are two things you can do to solve this problem:
1. provide full access to the preferences and cache of InDesign files, more information on ERROR when you try to launch
2. or create a new user on your system admin and start InDesign from there.

I suggest you to please you by going back to the earlier version of Lightroom once and see if it helps.

I had the same problem, just bought a new Macbook Pro (June 2015) and Lightroom CC had this error as well. Here is the dialog box that I've had with Adobe, and it cures the problem:
Adobe: Please click on the search option in your Dock at the bottom of the screen.
Adobe: Then click GO on the MenuBar at the top of the screen.
Adobe:, and then click GO to folder, and then type: ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe /.
Scott: OK, I did
Adobe: Control-click on the folder and choose read information.
Adobe: Expand the section sharing & permissions.
Adobe: Click on + icon, and check if the administrator select
Scott: OK, I chose the Admin
Adobe: Give read and write to the Admini
Scott: completed
Adobe: Click the gear icon and select apply changes to included items
Scott: OK
Adobe: In the Finder window, click GO and select GO to folder
Adobe: Type in
Adobe: / Library/Application Support/Adobe/ and press enterScott: completed
Adobe: Control-click on the folder and choose read information
Adobe: Expand the section sharing & permissions.
Scott: ok
Adobe: Give read and write permissions to all users
Adobe: Then click on the sign + and add the rest of the users from the list
Scott: completed
Adobe: Now, please try to use the Lightroom from your computer.
Scott: Thank you - it works!

Cannot open 'help and support '.
When I click on help and support, I get the error message:
"Internet explorer cannot download / help.How can I fix it?
Try again when your laptop is connected to the Internet. As far as I know it works if the laptop is on the net only.

Connect the external hard drive on another USB port and check.
Solution B:
For the problem with the help and Support, check if the service is enabled.
a. click Start, click run. In the Open box, type services.msc and press ENTER.
b. right-click on the service called Help and Support , and then select Properties.
c. under the general tab, set the type Startup to Automatic and click Start.
d. close the services window and check for the issue.
