Lightroom versus printer manages color

I have a monitor profile, and yet I find that I get prints that are a LOT closer to what my monitor returns when I let the printer (Epson 3880) handle color management when I left LR handle. Yes, I turned off "Printer manages color" in the printer controls. I tried color perceptual and relative and noticed no real difference. Also tried printing from Photoshop which produced prints that were farther away from what was displayed on the monitor. I use bright exhibition luster paper and what seems to me to be the right profile (BrillLusterEP3880PK). Overall, the prints have a magenta cast during the use of the profile and appear more neutral when you use "Printer manages color."

Any ideas?

In fact I think that the problem is in the profile provided by bright. The best impression from a distance (nearest what it on the screen) was produced with Epson paper using the supplied Epson profile. I know others like third party documents, but stay within "the family" seems to have its benefits.

  • Printing from 2015 for CC in Photoshop: Photoshop manages color

    Hello

I print from a Mac. My OS is Maveriks 10.9.5. I use a specific profile of Epson for my printer and paper that I use.

In the Photoshop print settings dialog, I chose "Photoshop manages colors."

In the dialog box (accessed from the print settings) color match, checks of ColorSync and EPSON are grayed out.

Does this mean that ColorSync is disabled?

    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi ZebraMule,

Change to " printer manages color" in the color management section and then try.

Let us know if that helps.

  • I'll put up correctly "Photoshop manages color" when Photo printing?

I have a new printer Epson AND 4500 with which I am trying to print a photo and let Photoshop manage color.

I created a new ICC file for Canon Photo Paper Pro paper I use.

In the dialog box "Print" of Photoshop, I chose "Photoshop manages colors" in the menu "Color Handling.

I chose my ICC profile created for paper and she is clearly identified in the menu 'profile of the printer '.

I chose "Normal printing" and "Relative Colorimetry" for the "rendering intent".

    "Black Point Compensation" is checked.

At the top of the dialog box, I clicked 'Print Settings' and it then opens a dialog specific to my new printer Epson AND 4500.  In this dialog box, I chose:

o Type of paper - Premium, glossy Photo paper

    o high - quality

    o color

There is one menu item "Other Options" and I click on that to open another dialog box.  In this box, under "Color Correction", the choices are "Automatic" and "made to measure".  I choose "Custom" and then click on the button "Advanced".  A new dialog box opens that says 'Color management' at the top and allows you to choose one of four options:

    O color controls

    o Photo fix

    o ICM

    o No. color setting

    I chose "CIM".

    I then print the image.

My problem is that in my view, there is absolutely no difference in the colors of the printed image compared to when I print the same photo, but choose "Printer manages colors" in the dropdown menu of Photoshop for 'handling of color.

I'm doing something wrong?  It just surprised (and disappointed) me that I don't see any difference when I let the printer manage colors and when I have Photoshop manage colors using an ICC file I created specific to my new printer and the paper choice.

    Thank you for your help.

    Len Jacobson

No, you should use no color adjustment (which is supposed to be set automatically when the application handles color). By selecting ICM, you have transformed the image twice and mutilated the color.

ICM should be chosen if you let the printer manage color (in which case Photoshop do anything to your color data).

  • Photos will NOT print when I attribute Elements 9 to manage colors - Hmmm...

    HP Photosmart Premium C310a

    Mac mountain lion

    Photoshop Elements 9

So, I've been printing with this beautiful printer for a while now.  I love. I have Photoshop Elements 9 (Yes, a while back, but whatever.)

Today, I found where you can override the color management settings in the elements, so I clicked on this button and had elements to 'manage' the colors.

Now do not print photos.  I get a blank picture.   Just feeds me an empty picture.

So, I UNclick that button, to return to what the PRINTER manage the colors once again and VOILA!  I have a picture, without modification, I did.  Which is kind of useless to the program.

Print photos in ALL other programs, no problem.

I'm on the forum THIS (HP), it is because with all the research I've done, I have read/seen the same problem happening with others (HP and other model) printers.  The minute they click this button and replace the printer manage the colors do not print photos.  And if they change it back, their photos print again.

I read for the manufacturer of the printer to let them know so that they can create a "fix" for the drivers, because it is not a problem with the elements.  Really?  How am I supposed to do?  Here?

I would LIKE for someone else who has elements of try this and let me know if they have the same problem, OR, if someone has OTHER suggestions!

Tried to reinstall the components.  Remove the printer, the printer reset, etc.  Nada.  A bit of STINK to edit, and then save it and go to another program and print.

Ideas, suggestions are appreciated!  Thank you!

Can't get Lightroom to print match my monitor even after calibration

    Hi mariusc,

When you say that printing does not, what exactly are you seeing? Your impressions too dark, or is it a color shift?

Can you tell us in detail the process that you use to print the images from Lightroom? Lightroom handles colours? You have color management turned off in the print driver? There are many possible factors here, so we'll have a few details and we will try to help.

Here is an example of the LR print Module. I have:

    1. Choose a printer/paper for my specific device profile and paper instead of "Managed by printer."
    2. I have disabled color management in the printer driver dialog box

Your printer driver and profile selections will be probably different from mine.

  • Photosmart 7520 will not print on color construction paper.

My Photosmart 7520 print text on color construction paper.  It feeds through the status bar, but does not print.

    Hey @JanMO,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

If you have a 7520 Photosmart all-in-one that doesn't seem to not want to print on color construction paper? Because the product is to feed the paper in the paper tray but isn't actually put ink on the page is does not seem to be a problem with the book itself and not filling not the management of specifications that your printer takes in charge for a type of paper.

According to the specifications of 7520 Photosmart it can handle:

    • Types of media supported: Paper (brochure, inkjet, ordinary), photo paper, envelopes, labels, cards (greeting), transparent
    • Supported media formats: Letter, legal, 4 x 6, 5 x 7 in., 8 x 10, no. 10 envelopes
    • Recommended weight: 16-80 lbs.

    Plug Photosmart e-all-in-one printer 7520

You know the exact weight of the construction paper?

Your printer will print on other media, such as plain white paper or photo paper glossy with no problems?

You could try to browse the next document in troubleshooting print quality, but please note that if your paper is not listed in the support media types, sizes or requirements of weight that you can do more harm to your printer.

Please let me know what you find on your construction paper specifications and if none of these steps helped to solve your problem. Good luck!

  • DesignJet T770: DesignJet T770 will not print in color

After you move a DesignJet T770 44 inch queue from a Windows 2003 server to a Server Windows 2012 R2 the T770 will not print in color.

The general tab on the properties T770 printer States ' color: No. '.  Yet once on the printer properties on the tab color color management is set to "Automatic (recommended)".

The T770 printer driver has been downloaded from Windows Update I was unable to get a T770 driver from the HP website.

The T770 product no is CH539A / CN375A. Strangely, none of these product numbers have been recognized by the search for product number for th HP Web site.

My question is how do the T770 to print color again?

    Any help would be appreciated.

I would say that you definitely have a driver problem if you has not changed the settings in the built-in web server printer at the time wherever you spent since Windows Server to the other server in Windows.

I check all the settings on each tab in the driver to see if it is possible that somewhere in there color is disabled.

I also go back to HP.com and look for driver for that machine again.

I am also looking for a print utility for this machine, which should not be confused with a printer utility, even if they might be named roughly the same.

I recall there are two utilities is to monitor the status of your printer, and the other is to print and work around the driver.

When you have found the right print utility you save your print format JPEG or PDF file and then open it in the print utility and send it to the printer without ever open drivers.

Another experiment, you can try it if you have a practical PDF just open a web browser and access the built-in web server printer and then try to print the PDF file directly by using the option for printing on the web server.

The purpose of some of these things is number one determine if the printer has developed a problem that it prevents printing color and print JPEG or PDF from the built-in Web server where all you do is send the file directly to the printer would let you know that the printer is always able to color.

So if you can get the print work utility where you can open the PDF on a PC and then send it to the printer you have to least a workaround while you solve the driver problem.

    Hi AZGUY47,

I'm happy that has managed to solve the problem for you, most of the time. Individual programs sometimes do not hold settings, if it is not set in the driver itself. If you have time, you can certainly try to check the updates of Chrome or uninstall/reinstall Chrome as well.

  • Print black color with a color of the image page

If I set up my printer to print in color, it prints black parts with cartridege or black color combination?

    Hi reneincer,

I understand that you would like to know if the printer uses black ink if you set up to print with the color cartridges.

There are different to choose print settings.

High quality grayscale will use less cyan, megenta and yellow (CMY) that say normal printing mode, but will not be a drastic reduction. However, the only feature of black ink slightly reduced the use of the CMJ. This setting produces a composite black.

The feature of black ink only will limit the use of color for the amount that passes under the black ink to ensure an impression for a long time and the true-black tone that should.

More economical printing would quickly the project and black ink only.  Grayscale setting uses the color cartridge to print in grayscale, because it offers better quality.  The quality is better with shades of gray, but it uses more ink.

You will find information in the following article. Use of inkjet printers ink.

Here is a document on the color management settings.

    I hope it's useful.

  • Lightroom CC print 2 copies of images for all printers

How can I get lightroom to print 1 copy of the image. The number of copies is set to 1, but lightroom prints 1 copies to all printers.

    Jim and Joe,

First of all, the printer driver (s) is both set to 1 copy. I use a Brother 8510DN BW laser printer and a laser Xerox Phaser 8560 color printer. Prints to the Brother printer has suddenly started print 1 copy per image. Also, if I select the ' print' button in the LR print module, it prints two copies. However, if I select the "Printer" button and click ok it prints a copy without selecting print at all. I think I can work with that. Thanks for your help.

  • Print image colors are different

    Hello

I just bought a HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 6525 printer to print photos. I open an image in photoshop, then I press on print. I have the following settings:

    Screen Shot 2014-05-29 at 10.57.23.png

    Screen Shot 2014-05-29 at 10.57.33.png

The result is very poor. The colors are dark, like a photo of instagram. My screen is a SAMSUNG S24C750P. Photoshop CS6 (osx) version.

I would like to know what is the correct configuration for printing photos.

I really appreciate your help, it's very confusing.

You are not supposed to use sRGB as print profile. What you want is the profile for the paper tray that you print on a paper/ink (HP something shiny/Matt and so on). These profiles are provided by the manufacturer of the printer and normally installed along the printer driver.

But I don't think HP in the interest of "simpler" for the customer. Check what profiles are available (but I think that it will all paper profiles here). So in this case, you can not let Photoshop manage color, you must choose the other option and let the printer manage.

I have never been able to understand the HP. They are really very good material, but their philosophy seems to be that their customers are completely illiterate and they need hand-holding every step.

  • Will not print in color from my Mac or iPhoto for HP photosmart D110

My printer will print only in black and white when I print from my Mac OS X 10.6.4 on my printer.  I uploaded the photos I photo and print only in black and white.  When I put the card directly into the printer, it prints fine color.

HP website was no help at all with this issue.  All of the suggestions.

Print a self-test of the front of the printer. It prints color? If this is not the case, there is something wrong with your color cartridge. What version of Mac OS X?

  • Photosmart HP 6520 - print in color, not black and white

I have had this printer for some time and configure options so that it used only the black cartridge unless I put it specifically to do otherwise when I wanted to color.  It worked well and I could switch between black and white and color very easily.  A few weeks ago, the printer started to ignore the options I would set and printed in color.  I double checked the parameters, and the printer is always set up for black and white, but now it completely ignores and still print in color.

I tried the settings at the time of printing, and that indicates that the image in black and white, it still prints in color.

I haven't added any software or made any changes to my pc.

Can someone help me with this, please?

Hi Lulu and thank you for the reply!

I suggest to download and run the HP print and Scan doctor.  Once you have run the tool successfully, try again the configuration in black and white.

Please let me know the results.

  • LaserJet pro 400 color: Blue lines on the right side of the page when printing in color

When printing in color I get this blue line that occurs on the right side of the page. It is darkest near the edge and shoot low towards the printed part of the document. It is a vertical line that follows the entire length of the page. I printed a report of quality and it is always present. In my view, this indicates that it is a hardware issue, rather than software. Is there some rolls or the part that needs to be cleaned? Can you provide a link to the instructions?

    Thank you!
