Linux.ISO missing on win7-64 host, slackware 14.0 comments

Hello

I created Slackware 14.0 32 bit OS in VMWare Player 6 on Windows 7-64 bit.

VM Player invites me to install the VMWare Tools, but the linux.iso is missing.

Where can I find this file?

-The approach

Same thing here:

"Failed to install VMware Tools. An error occurred while trying to access the images file ' C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\VMware Player\linux.iso "to install VMware Tools: the system cannot find the specified file. »

Linux.ISO does not exist, and I can't find anywhere to download

EDIT: VMware Player installation 5.0.2 and 6.0.0 uninstall worked for me. In 5.0.2 linux.iso download seems to work fine

    Hello

    I'm new to vmware and used to work with VirtualBox.Guest on VirtualBox boot immediately when started.

    My host is running on a core AMD FX-8350 8 4.2 Ghz with 32 GB of ram and VDI are stored on a Samsung 850 PRO SSD.

    Whenever I start a guest with Win7, I get a black screen for couples of minutes THEN prompt boots at a normal pace.

    No idea what vmware did to 'prepare' the boot?

    (I read that vmware renaming "* debug*.exe" makes it faster.) Which I did and did not notice that many improvements)

    But if the guess is paused, then restarted - it's quick to get back running as expected.

  • Forcing linux.iso re - download

    Hi people,

    I had to troubleshoot a VMware Fusion do not install VMware tools for linux.

    When chosen use "Install VMware Tools", nothing happened next to the standard warning on attachment to an iso file, and the menu has returned to "Install VMware Tools", instead of "Cancel VMware Tools installation".

    I went to/Library/Application Support / VMWare Fusion / isofiles and noticed linux.iso and linux.iso.sig were not there.

    The only solution I found was to uninstall VMware and install again, and I would like to know what exactly the download tools linux release.

    Thank you!

    The iso images are triggered by receipts from the installer, in OS X 10.5 in Receipts, for OS X 10.6, those who are in/var/db/receipts.  For 10.5 to remove the .pkg bundle tools and to 10.6, delete the files com.vmware.tools.linux.bom and com.vmware.tools.linux.plist.

  • Disabling network on the host while enabling in comments?

    First post. Coming for a long time. My sincere thanks for all the knowledge I have gained this community over the years!

    I use a virtual machine for all my internet needs and I would like to disable internet access into the host machine while leaving available for the virtual machine from the internet. Is this possible? I tried many settings that I can find via the GUI, and the only way I can access the internet via the virtual computer is if the LAN is enabled in the host.

    (BTW, I have that the host is exposed to the network because it is a small utility, that I have always told me that there is a new version available when starting unless the LAN is disabled in this case, there is no notification.) Windows Firewall is in full force, but I don't want ANY communication between the host and the external network).

    Thank you!

    TXuser offers a good solution and add that if you don't have a router or do not change the settings for the router you can assign an address IP in the range 169.254.x.x to the NIC in the host and this will allow the guest OS to be configured using bridged network and receive an IP address from the DHCP server or router on local network and then the guest will be able to connect to the Internet host However, will not.

  • Win7 resolve host (wireless)

    I had a constant problem with a Belkin router that we have just recently in my home, because of our last (Linksys) being outdated and unable to support the speed that we were paying. I don't know if this problem belongs to the router or if it is for my PC but I need help unravel a host issue resolution that seems to affect all devices connected to the wireless network.

    For reasons that I don't know, it affects only the wireless network and that's how I know. I have an Xbox 360, a 3DS, an Android Smartphone and a Win7 PC. When the router is twisted because of this problem, all my devices become unable to use the internet. The network is listed as working, but they do no other connection than that. On my PC, it will show the connection to the internet, but only half of my stuff works. Refined, my Skype will work (partially), my Steam will be fine, but my Minecraft does not connect my browsers don't work and my Spotify is constantly go online and offline.

    My mother is the one who manages the network, saying there is nothing wrong when there is clearly a problem. Or the router my PC only, I don't know, and that's why I came in the hope someone can can help out me.

    Just to add, I tried flushing DNS my PC via administrative permission on the command prompt, I did the constant router and restart the modem, I even rebooted my PC probably 100 times more. There is no driver I can update. When I try to connect to the cable on my own network, the network is considered a network without name and refuses to establish a connection to the internet. I don't understand how that's possible when my mother is connected via a cable ethernet at any time. Our router is configured so that the wireless connection will allow only devices with MAC addresses, and I know that all my devices are there because I get connection.

    I don't really know if I am still in the right place to ask these questions, as it is stated not directly to my PC, but rather to my router and the PC, but I could use some help. This has been a problem persisting for some time and it is getting worse. I start school in a month, and I desperately need this router and the PC works if I can get all my homework and made documents.

    Hello

    Thank you for the quick update.

    To answer the question, the WPA-2 security key is the safest. WPA and WPA2 require users to provide a security key to connect.  Once the key has been validated, all data sent between the computer or device and the access point is encrypted.

    There are two types of WPA authentication: WPA and WPA2. If possible, use WPA2 because it is the safest. Almost all new wireless adapters are supported WPA and WPA2, but some older don't. WPA-Personal and WPA2-Personal, each user is given the same password. It is recommended for home networks. WPA-Enterprise and WPA2-Enterprise are designed to be used with a 802. 1 x authentication server that distributes different keys to each user. This mode is mainly used in work networks.

    You use WPA - 2 cause any problems with the network connection.

    If you do not want to manually assign IP then you can try two or three steps mentioned below, of troubleshooting if you experience the problem while working with wireless connection.

    1 reset the TCP/IP stack

    You can try to reset TCP/IP if you have Internet connection problems. This article describes two methods to reset TCP/IP.

    How to reset TCP/IP using the NetShell utility

    2 empty the DNS

    Most of the operating systems and of the DNS clients will automatically cache the IP addresses and other DNS results, this is done in order to accelerate subsequent requests for the same host name. Sometimes bad results will be cached and therefore need to be deleted from the cache so that you can properly communicate with the host computer. All major operating systems allow you to force this process, outlined below are the common steps that you must follow to clear your DNS cache.

    To clear the DNS follow the steps described below.

    • Click on the Start button and go to the command prompt (start > all programs > Accessories > prompt)
    • Make sure you do a right click on the application from the command prompt and select "Run as Administrator"
    • Type the commandipconfig /flushdns

  • Add a missing vCAC - related Workflow host

    Hey there,

    We have our server of vCO stood up and added the vCAC (6.1) the plugin.  I'll add the vCAC host under configuration by running the workflow 'Add a host vCAC', however the workflow will not yet validate because it says is a 'bound lack Workflow' (the one not of import certificate).

    When I validate the workflow, I get: Info: workflow with ID [c5a874a2-e8e7-480d-bdde-d1a80b8a3011] is missing.  And "cannot find the workflow with the ID 'c5a874a2-e8e7-480d-bdde-d1a80b8a3011' in the library with the owner being"Import a certificate from URL".

    I reinstalled the plugin to see if, perhaps, something went wrong, but to get the same results.

    Someone at - it ideas?

    Thank you!

    Workflow "Import a certificate from URL" from the plugin Configurator, which is part of standard deployment vCO and must be installed by default.

    Please, check the following:

    (1) verify that the workflow is indeed missing. Look in the tree inventory of workflow, in the folder Library/Configuration/SSL Trust Manager /

    (2) if the workflow is not in this folder, then perhaps plugin Configurator does not deploy properly. Open the Configurator of vCO UI to https://[vcoip]:8283 and go to the Plugins page. Check if there is a line for the Configuration plug-in and what its status is.

    (3) if the plug-in is listed here, but the status is not OK, then you can try to redeploy. "Same user interface, go to the Troubleshooting page in the configurator and click on the link"reset the current version", then go to the page"Start Options"and click on"Restart the Service". You restart server vCO and redeploy I hope the plugin and its workflow.

  • Disconnect Linux guests and Windows in Win7x64 host of sound

    I use a Dell OptiPlex 790 integrated with audio.

    Periodically a Windows prompt, or every time I try to use audio on Linux hosts, I get the "error opening audio device 0:  "A device ID has been used that is out of range of your system.  Sound will start disconnected. "

    (I don't have a control panel RealTek).

    On Win7x64 host:

    I downloaded and installed the audio driver of Dell (Realtek, ATI?).

    I disabled the ATI audio device high definition in the host and activated exclusive reading.  I also disabled the two microphones in sounds.

    Who took care of the issue of Windows and my Win7x64 guest comments can now read the audio data without disconnecting.

    However, the above has not set the same question on Linux.

    Under Linux, I went my Gnome settings, under his and turned off the microphones, closed the window settings of her Gnome and re-connected the audio device to the default sound in the virtual machine host.  That will allow me to hear the chirp in Linux system.  However, whenever I try to open the application of Gnome sound settings, or to say an audio app like Audacity, sound disconnects with the original error.

    There must be a solution out there.  Surely, after all these years people report these problems, some must have found an answer?

    Finally found the answer to my problem.  I have uninstalled the Realtek software and disabled audio all output devices.  Then I restarted and connected via USB a SoundBlaster X - fi Go! Adapter audio pro.  The software is installed on my host, rebooted it, and then reset all the guests computer virtual for the audio device by default.  Now, all of my guests, so Windows or Unix play sounds.

    Do not use '-gu ' and '-gp "in this command.

    The syntax must be the following (on a Windows host):

  • Installer missing in win7

    I posted a problem yesterday, as Miss me the installer of windows. I received a response with a name attached today. My problem is that I click on the answer, I find myself on the same page that I started looking to see others who have the problem. The #1 page is where I find myself, without reference to that person's response. My problem is different in that I show the installation file in system32, but missing from the service centre. My question is that I have to read through all the posts (of which there are hundreds) to locate the person who sent my solution, or can at least find the page where it is posted. • Protocols of IP v4 & v6 missing on Win7 install

    I built a new system and installed Win7 Pro drive with authentication # (purchased from Amazon). When I look at my wireless connection, all protocols are there except IP v4 and v6. When I click to install it and it asks you a disc, I ask him to check the installation disc (drive D :) and she says nothing he is a pilot.) Where can I download the protocols?

    Confirm that ipv4 and ipv6 are also properties of your Ethernet card.

    Assuming that these protocols are absent as well as your adapter wireless, start by opening a ("run as administrator) command prompt and typing

    sfc/scannow

    If that doesn't fix things, see--> http://www.blog.creativform.com/en/no-internet-protocol-version-4-tcpipv4-in-ethernet-properties/

    If none of these solutions work, you should probably do a repair installation.

  • Linux Guest network on the Windows host OS

    Hey

    I would like to give my comments dare a dedicated IP address. They are configured in the Windows adapter (Server 2003) and are operational, in addition, the bridge is configured correctly - and when I configure NAT in the network of the client (using DHCP), everything works fine. Could you tell me the settings of network guest OS for the device (eth0) Please?

    I mean, definition of the IP address of one of them that is configured in the network adapter on Windows, using the same gateway, and the same name servers does not work. It is said that the interface is in place but does not work.

    Advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

    You have not need to assign the IPs on side Windows if you use bridged networking infact, by doing so, you are going to have caused a conflict of IP address with the Linux VM.

    Let the VMNet adapters to their default values. Select mode bridged for the prompt, then assign an IP address for eth0, which should be.

  • DHCP server on a VM guest that is connected to a router (in AP mode) works on the host Linux (Fedora), but not on the host Windows (XP)

    I'm in dual boot Fedora and Windows XP, and configure a server vmware 2.0.0 122956 on both.

    Here is my config:

    Internet - Modem - vm_gw - vmnet1 (host) - vm_dhcp - router Wireless ADSL - computers laptops

    There are two physical network adapters on my host.  On the virtual machine that connects to the internet (vm_gw), I have one of the network adapters physical bridge (as vmnet0) to dial the ADSL modem and set up a network of hostonly (vmnet1) share the internet connection of the VM on the host and other virtual (vm_dhcp) computer.  On the virtual machine which also shares the internet connection to a wireless (vm_dhcp), I fill the other physical network (like vmnet2) adapters to connect to a router (in AP mode) and have a configuration of DHCP server on it and set up a hostonly (vmnet1) network to get its internet connection of vm_gw.

    I installed proper routing on my host computer and two virtual machines and this config works very well on my Fedora host.  However, the DHCP installation part does not work on my Windows XP host computer.

    The difference between my host Fedora and XP is on Fedora host, can I have two network adapters physical activated with a config 'empty' (to use DHCP or static) as in:

    DEVICE = eth0

    HWADDR = 00:11:22:33:44:55

    ONBOOT = yes

    TYPE = Ethernet

    and

    DEVICE = eth1

    HWADDR = 55:44:33:22:11:00

    ONBOOT = yes

    TYPE = Ethernet

    And there is no conflict on the physical network adapters between the host and the virtual machines.

    However, on XP host, I HAVE to configure the network adapters physical to use DHCP or static.

    If I place the physical network adapter (on the XP host) who will fill to vm_dhcp using DHCP, it will get an IP address from the wireless router and the DHCP server on vm_dhcp doesn't seem to be able to 'find' the wireless router and assign an IP address that him.

    Then I tried to configure the physical network card to use the static IP address (and assign it a fictitious IP address e.g. 192.168.123.1/255.255.255.0) to see if it would work, but it does not work either.

    Then I also tried to "simulate" the 'empty' network on Fedora config using regedit and delete (192.168.123.1/255.255.255.0) IP address on the network config and it does not work.

    Well, I'm out of ideas and I came here as a last resort.  Any suggestion/discussion is welcome.

    Thanks for reading.
