Linux USB-6218 PWR/ACT LED is off

Hello world

I recently bought a multifunction DAQ USB-6218 and installed all the software for it (that is, nidaqmxbase and nation).

When I connect the device to my computer, I don't see the light / activity blinking as my other hardware DAQ USB-6008.

    Hello

As far as I know that booting from USB stick or HARD drive is not supported by the BIOS for this series of mobile.
As far as I know you can boot from the HARD, ODD, LAN and USB FDD (floppy) disk, but I think that you can not boot from USB HDD.

    Hola a todos,

I have a DAQ NI USB-6218 y según el tiene back contadores datasheet. Hola, Oscar,

Las tarjetas M (62xx) tienen tecnologia en los contadores STC2 series. Esto implica para building UN PWM needs back contadores, con lo cual, TR géneras United Nations PWM el otro no lo puedes usar. Have that use otra tarjeta adicional M series o buy una X (63xx) series that usa the STC3 tecnologia y permite UN con PWM building a solo contador. Te copio this information:

STC2 devices require the use of 2-channel counter

  • Problems with USB-6218 in DAQmx connection diagram

I use MAX to implement the tasks of measurement thermocouple for part of our engine Diesel DAQ. It's a simple enough part of DAQ - read in the thermocouple temperature measurement and then draw. The problem that I am running is with the wiring diagram. Looking at the USB-6218 casing, it is labeled for the analog inputs, but when I go back the stitching in the measurement and Automation Explorer (photo attached), it shows that the pins are marked differently.

For example, that I choose to have a thermocouple (two sons) in analog input 0 (ai0). The diagram shows that I should connect the two wires of thermocouple to channels 15 and 16 which are AI0 and AI8, respectively in the pinout diagram. Then say I assign another thermocouple with 8 analog inputs (ai8), he tells me to write the two wires of thermocouple to 16 and 28 channels which are AI8 and AI GND, respectively on the pinout diagram. This is great except for the fact that both ai0 and ai8 use the same channels on the DAQ card.

I get the same thing when I select ai1-> CH 17 (I 1) and 18 (AI 9) CH then ai9-> CH 18 (AI 9) and 28 CH (AI GND). Channel 18 (9 analog input) is used for both thermocouples.

No idea as to why LabVIEW is bunk of the analog inputs?

No, you cannot change the pairings and as shown in the picture, ai0 and ai8 are right next to each other. Can't be more close to everything.

  • USB-6218 for PC transfer speed

    Hi guys,.

I hope to be able to taste 10 channels 10 Hz for about 1 hour, in Labview 8, on a relatively new core dual desktop PC.

First, I tried an Agilent34970a and concluded that, even if she can continuously scan quickly enough, GPIB in Labview transfer speed was too slow and the PC could not follow.

So I intend to implement a continuous sweep on a USB-6218 and then read it via USB, time-stamped data in Labview.

After reading about OR "sample streaming usb", my question is: approximately how long will be the transfer of data via USB? I'll be able to transfer time-stamped 10 channels at 10 Hz continuously in Labview, and still have cycles left processor above for other duties such as writing to the file .VI and update the screen.

The reason for which I am aiming for USB and no PCI/PXI is because I am concerned about the interference of the computer that affect my signals.  I read only analog voltages in the range of +-10V.

    Thank you for your understanding.

You can acquire and store at rates of several orders of magnitude higher than 10 Hz. A good way to make sure you can follow has a producer/consumer architecture so that the file writes are made in a separate loop. Backup to the binary is also much faster than backing up to the text. Thus, the design of the program is important as well as the material you use.

  • Import of flash bootable Linux USB under VM player?

I have a USB flash drive which is a bootable Linux installation. I can boot a laptop of this flash drive.

Is it possible to import the as a virtual machine in vmware fusion?

If you ask in the context of directly using the file > import... command in VMware Fusion, the answer is none.

If you have y at - it is a way to create a Virtual Machine, using the USB itself as a mass storage device or the USB device as a virtual hard drive, the answer is Yes.

Why do you want to create a Virtual Machine from the USB device?  I ask in order to provide the best solution to actions.

It might actually be faster to create a Virtual Machine Linux using the ISO Image of Source used to create the Linux USB bootable and then if needed/wanted to transfer data specific to the user or other files on the virtual computer.

The best thing to do is to start the USB device connected to a virtual machine using the Plop Boot Manager.  That would go for the BONE from the USB stick attached to a Virtual Machine Linux to the empty address and therefore everything that follows Plop Linux load chain happening all simply the USB device.  (I want to update my KAV rescue USB Linux.)

Another way is to use vmware-rawdiskCreator to create a virtual hard disk of meta-data hard and then either use it as what or use vmware-vdiskmanager to create a normal file disk based hard virtual hard, which could be added to a Machine virtual Linux empty run from.  Note If using vmware-rawdiskCreator to create the virtual hard disk meta-data hard to add to a Machine virtual Linux to address empty it must be added manually, by modifying the .vmx config file, because it will be not selectable market thought the Wizard New Virtual Machine or Virtual Machine settings.  On an additional note, you may need to change the installation when created directly from USB this way and why at the beginning, I mentioned "that being said, it might actually be faster to create a virtual Linux using the ISO Image of Source used to create the USB Linux bootable and then if needed/wanted to transfer the user-specific data or other files on the virtual computer.'." "  A disk hard virtual created byvmware-vdiskmanager .vmkd can be added to the Virtual Machine or by walking through the Wizard New Virtual Machine or Virtual Machine settings.

  • Satellite C55 - A and Ubuntu - Maj CapsLock and numlock button LED still off

I can't find driver Linux in the Toshiba support website. How to solve this problem?

You can't find drivers Linux because Linux is not supported by Toshiba.
Try visiting a Linux forum. Maybe you can find a small tip very useful there.

  • IdeaCentre 300 Linux USB boot Stick

I want to install linux (OS Zorin or MATE Ubuntu) on my new ideacentre Stick, but there is no USB boot option in the boot options. In the BIOS, there is an option 'Boot from File', but I can't understand how to use it. I'll attach pictures of the start menu and startup in the file menu. Secure boot is off.

    Hello

In fact, if you have the directory structure appropriate for EFI boot on your USB (EFI/BOOT/bootia32.efi) it will allow you to boot from USB after pessing ESC at startup and selecting boot options. Even you can get the "boot from file" option, when you select the USB device and look for the EFI boot file manually.

I just managed to install Ubuntu Linux (15.10) to the Ideacenter Stick 300 device, so if you need, I can provide some tips, how :-)

  • NEITHER 6009 LED is OFF when connected the circuit feeding

I have a 6009 OR give the command base (5V) signal a relay driver (CL100, beta: 100) transistor through a base of 15 K resistance. The relay is 12V (nt73_jqc - 3fc) with a resistance of the inductive coil of 400 ohms (connected between CL 100 collector and power), so he must 30mA for the field coils boost (therefore the 15K resistor value is calculated). I also used a diode flyback through the side of the field with the correct polarity. Based on the issuer of the 100 CL.

The problem is that when you are NEITHER 6009 is connected with the circuit (NI 6009 and circuit works normally at any other time) and supply (+-12V regulated, extracted from 230 V ac, 50 Hz power supply) is enabled / disable, the Green LED of 6009 OR turns off most of the time also! This means that card OR is disconnected from the PC. I need to reconnect the USB again for a correct operation of the circuit that is checked by default power.

    Why is this happening?

Is this harmful to the long-term data acquisition card?

What can be done to cure?

  • MagSafe 2 led is off, but the battery is charged!

While trying to load my MacBook pro 13 inch Magsafe 2 connected led is not off leauge or green light tried to reset and upgrade to the latest update but always disabled when connected

    Please advice

The battery in the title bar indicator shows that it is connected?  It could simple breakfast was DIRECTED into the magsafe connector is dead.

You can also check this topic Mac, reporting system, power and see if the battery as the current power source said yes or no when it is plugged.

If it's just the LED and you are still in warranty, just take in an Apple store for an exchange - the power brick is covered by your hardware warranty.

  • A key using self-powered USB causes the base station go "off-line".

I found that by using a USB drive self-powered, as the WD My Passport, without a USB powered, hub attached to the base of the station USB port has caused the base station go "off-line". In fact, using a powered hub does not always remedy the situation, but it is more reproducible without one.

This is true for the AirPort Extreme and Time Capsule 802.11ac. The problem does not occur immediately, but it may happen over several days. The symptom is that the player is no longer lies in the Finder, or the base station appears in AirPort Utility.

My question is if others have had the same results? ... and did you find permanent solutions?

USB key "seems" less reliable on the airports of AC model than on previous versions.

I tend to not use USB attached to routers because I think it's convenient mediocre and poor speeds. But I tested with previous models, and it seems ok...

KT those a few posts here a me trial there. These are not self powered readers... who I have long recommended people avoid the use (without a powered hub)...

Re: External backup drive down regularly

In fact, the wire is different from what I remember... Age don't you know.

But I did the test on an AC TC. The result has been very reliable. He did not cause the TC to close... but I lost the connection of the USB almost every day... except for a trial where I kept the USB drive mounted in the Finder... so that the USB drive wouldn't turn it down. He then worked for a few weeks... until what the noise of rotation of disk (sitting next to me) drove me crazy... as soon as he was mounted is more, he would pass the same existence as before.

The previous model TC was barely big enough for the internal use of the power supply units. So powered car running disc was impossible.

Provide EI (GEN 1-5) at 1. 8A and 12v was adequate, but the standard USB port is estimated at 500 my wrong to manage disks free power.

You would certainly think AC 12v 5A power supply models would have a lot of power. Yet, power problems are a major problem still. Supply is extremely sensitive and stop easily for reasons I'm still to understand.

Where the long threads on power issues to the AE.

Now, I'm going to speculate... I think that SOME problems are associated with power.

What is the USB port side in airports of AC? Is it still 500ma? Apple never seem to give easy to find info on these details.

Do you know? I haven't measured it, but I can try timing the time it takes to charge a phone.  Assuming that it will immediately trigger.

Then he will have problems with a self-powered drive. Even if the drive has less energy than quotes, current during starting is much higher. The restriction of the power on the USB port is managed by a self regulator recovery... Once you triggered it, you must stop the power... then reboot the machine to restore power.

Then, I also did the test with hub powered... and like your results... It was better. Longer time between the drive disappears from the network. But it was not enough to stop it.

There is another interesting effect using self-powered hubs... I discovered this on a computer running Mac OS lets say! The computer would not start with a powered hub connected to the front USB. Hubs self-powered cheap, showing a defect in their design. They can refer to the USB port. In this computer, it was enough to stumble on the good power circuit and prevent the supply, commissioning... As long as the computer is running, everything was fine... but if I turned off it would not start. I finally woke up I had to exit the USB every time. At one point, I made a "special" Cup USB cable 5v line so the hub can stay connected. You can probably just to isolate the 5v of contact in the USB. Regardless of the configuration of power USB in the AE or TC is as you can assume she's sensitive enough... and at any time when the 5V on USB hub exceeds the 5V in AE it could trigger.

The symptom is that the player is no longer lies in the Finder, or the base station appears in AirPort Utility.

Endangered of AU base station is not uncommon.

It responds to the pings? I guess he still has lights but is he blocked? You still get internet through it?

Try to open it manually in to THE... use of the file / configure from others and put the IP address of EI.

Talk with me by e-mail... It is open in the profile.
