Hello

Try to start the recovery of HARD drive again.
Immediately after the laptop has been turned on, press the F8 key.
Then choose fix my computer and choose Toshiba recovery in a new window.

Drive HARD recovery should start and should reinstall Windows Vista again.

Check it out!

  • Recovery Vista Help - Satellite L300-149

    Hi all!

Have you tried many places and can't find the answer I'm looking for, so here I am.

My nephew has a Toshiba Satellite L300 - 149 that will not start after Windows Vista log in screen.

I want to do a complete system restore on it (ie. back to the factory settings).

Now, it was delivered without recovery disks which seems to be the norm these days so after much seraching I found directions to press the F8 key and press zero to startup.

Now... F8 displays a menu (zero key does nothing), but the menu (Options Advanced or something) does NOT include the option to fix the system. It brings up a list of other things including...

    ENABLE BOOT LOGGING
    ENABLE VGA MODE
    LAST KNOWN GOOD CONFIGURATION
    DIRECTORY SERVICES
    DEBUG MODE
    DISABLE AUTO RE START

There are a few other options too, but not one that offers a full recovery.

Can anyone shed some light on how I can do a full restore via HARD drive, or if this model even supports the option? (There were absolutely no tampering with the OS since you bought it.) If not, where can I get the restore disks from?

    Thank you

    Hey,.

The exact description of recovery of the HARD drive that you can find here:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD1303440001R01.htm

As you can see the option to fix my computer is necessary for the Toshiba HDD recovery process.

If it s is not available, you must use the Toshiba recovery disc. This disk can restore factory settings too, but the whole disk will be wiped. So if you have important data on it should perform a backup before. ;)

  • HDD Recovery Fail on Satellite L300 Vista

I'm arrogant and not install virus protection software and eventually get drowned in the spyware rather than go through the hassle of trying to remove each of them so that they slow down the computer to a halt, I decided to restore the factory State.

It seems easy, but now after the first part (a command window with a percentage) he told me that he had no HARD drive recovery.
What can I do now that I can't use my computer, I don't have a Vista disc because Toshiba has asserted that I could recover from the hard drive I could use XP if there is no quick fix I have a drive for this, but how easy is it to find and install all the drivers, incidentally It's a Satellite L300.

I have no idea why the recovery partition does not work that way, while the guys do you recommend I do?

    Thanks, man.

    > It seems easy, but now after the first part (a command window with a percentage) he told me that he had no HARD drive recovery. What can I do now that I can't use my computer, I don't have a Vista disc

Have you tried to start the HARD drive recovery?
Simply press the F8 key after laptop powered upwards and choose fix my computer.

Usually, this will help you start the recovery disk again.

If this is not possible then you will not be able to recover the laptop without the Toshiba recovery disc.
He really stupid situation if you didn't create the recovery disk before this problem happened :(

Well, your last chance would be this site:
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

Here you can order a new Toshiba Vista recovery disk

  • Satellite L300 laptop will not load Windows

    I have a model of Satellite L300 number PSLB0A - 00L 022 running windows Vista.

The problem is that it does not load Windows. It starts ok and I can access the boot manager and the Setup utility and that's it. It stops just loading.
After studying the problem, I ran a car aptitude test and the result was the error code 0 x 70. After looking at the code I m under the impression that I need to erase the disc. I have no problem with that.

My question is - if I run the windows Recovery Wizard will be it solve my problem? I will have to re install vista at all? All advice is appreciated!

Hello Jane and welcome in the Toshiba forum

After reading your ad, I must say that the best solution and easier for you is to reinstall the operating system via original Toshiba recovery DVD. This DVD contains the operating system, all necessary drivers, specific Toshiba and utility tools. After recovery image installation you will get state out-of-box and clean the preinstalled operating system.

Yes, this should solve your problem. Please note: when you do it all saved data will be deleted.

You have some important data saved on your laptop?
Do not use this disc reinstall Vista and everything should be ok again.

  • Can satellite L300-1AQ - I use the L300D recovery disk?

My son has a Satellite L300-1AQ equipped of vista. All of a sudden will load is more the laptop and automatic repair options fails too. There is a blue screen that appears, but only for a second when I try the repair option - then the laptop stops. We have no recovery disks.

Also, I have a laptop Satellite L300D-13 s that works well and suppose I could get a drive recovery- but prob diff drivers etc.

Can someone advise me how best to my sons laptop (Im not concerned about retrieving data as all saved already), but do not want to return to the factory settings including Vista. Do not know if using a laptop recovery disk is an option - instinctively is not as ever as simple as that.

    All advice welcome please.

    Hi mate,

I can t imagine that the Satellite L300D recovery disc will work on Satellite L300. The hardware platform is different, because a single machine is equipped with Intel CPU and the other with AMD processor, so there's a big difference.

In addition, in the worst case, it could be a hardware problem and in this case the recovery disk does not work

What can you do now? I think you have to options: either you install Vista from a disk of Microsoft or order you a Toshiba Recovery disk: https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

After installing the Microsoft disc, you can download all the drivers on the Toshiba site. Then you will also get back to factory settings, but it takes more time in the recovery disk because it contains an image which already all the drivers and tools are included/installed.

    I hope I could help a bit. :)

  • Because I installed a Satellite L300 printing software stopped working

    Hello!

I'm new here so not sure if I'm posting in the right place. Mods, please do not hesitate to go to the relevant section, thank you.

OK, I have a Toshiba Satellite L300 laptop and since I installed a printing software Wednesday evening, my laptop suddenly stopped working!

Since Thursday night, I tried to make it work, but I am faced with this message:

When I load up, it goes to Windows error recovery:

"windows does not start.a recent hardware or software change might be the cause.

If windows files have been damaged or misconfigured, Startup Repair can help diagnose and fix the problem.if power was interrupted during startup, choose start windows normally"

then it gives two options: Launch Startup Repair (recommended)
    Start windows normally
    ==========
-then I click on (recommended) launch Startup Repair
-then a scren called load' system recovery options «...» It is said: select an operating system to repair, click next.only windows vista listed operating systems and can be repaired

If you do not see your operating system listed, click load drivers to load the drivers for your hard disks...

but nothing comes up so I click load drivers and it gives me just loads of records at random... and I don't have any idea those to load
    ========
    5 years report an abuse

    so I click "next".
    ========
    Then, I have 5 options:
    -Startup Repair
    -system restore
    -windows complete pc restore
    -windows memory diagnostic tool
    -command prompt
    ==========
Startup Repair says that manually, it can't solve any problems

-simply said system restore your computer is located in a limited State, and this action can not be changed... but there is no option to do so

-restoration of windows complete pc says I need to insert a backup disk which I do not have

diagnostic tool memory Windows says that windows blocks it
    ============
but on restoring system it tells me to type something like: rstrui.exe /OFFLINE:C:\Windows
but I don't no where... I typed in the command prompt, but don't understand how to use it
    =========
I also tried to click Start windows normally, but it won't work

If the problem is the software installed, start Notepad in safe mode and try to start restoring the system from there.
Please let me know what options are available. Can roll you back OS a few days back?
Are some that are listed restore points?

  • Satellite L300-13R - not able to recovery

    Hello

Problem with the SATELLITE L300-13R, fails to start Vista.
Pressing F12 with recovery dvd, dvd loading starts, then stops after about 30 seconds, leaving a blank screen.

We also saw the following message

    STATUS: 0XC00000E9
INFO: An unexpected i/o error has occurred

There is also an explanation it may be due to an external device that has not been properly disconnected or a hardware error.

The recovery disks worked fine a few weeks ago.

    Any other ideas?

    Hello

Have you tried the HARD drive recovery?
You could start this press F8 at the beginning.
Then choose repair my computer, then the HARD drive recovery.

You must also set BIOS to default and safe settings changes.
    Then try again.

  • [SOLVED] Satellite L300 wireless dead, suddenly stop, then won't power ON

Well, actually, that this post is NOT a question that I already found the solution, but it took me much time searching through forums (and in fact I had not found response), so I decided to post it here to help someone in the same situation later.

Ok.. I'm all new Satellite L300 laptop a week ago, which runs under WinXP SP2. First five days, everything was OK, but then I confronted the following symptoms:

-Material Wi - fi could disappear suddenly. After the restart, winXP found the map of wireless as a new device, but could not accept pilots (who has worked on OK again a few hours before).
-Notebook could stop 'tough' at any time and it is not in the CPU load. After that I could not turn on again than by pressing the power button only turned on CPU cooler. I had to wait for at least 30 min power turn on the laptop again.

So, I started to search the forums, and as a result, I was sure the reason was overheating of the CPU to 115.337%. It was strange for me that I could not find similar reports for satellite L300 on the web and even all dust cpu overheating reports for other models Toshiba II found - they all have been written on popular laptops, but I got mine just a week ago.

Since I didn't bring my laptop to the local service center and leave it there for a long time - I decided to locate the problem myself as much as I can and I finally found the reason:

    * He was one of the two Samsung modules of 1 GB of RAM installed in notebook.*

As I removed a suspect (2nd) - all symptoms have disappeared. As I removed another installed back suspicious as 1st - I even haven't been able to turn on the laptop. So, I deleted completely suspicious module and now I had no problem with laptop computers running more than 2 days (except the performance decreased due to the loss of memory of 50%).

Hope this is helpful to someone who has a similar problem whose symptoms may resemble the overheating of the CPU.

Really great job and a very nice display!

I have a Satellite L300 too but never had any problems with it. I'll put this in my favorites because it s very useful for people who have this problem.

    Welcome them

  • 2 years by Satellite L300 has started playing up - recovery disc question

    Hello world

I ve created the Toshiba Recovery Disc (s) and think I need to use it now. My Satellite L300-1AQtaking AGES to load when I turn on, it sometimes crashes for no apparent reason (it tells me memory is OK, so not a problem of RAM) and because of the other weird inconveniences.

Should I use the recovery disks do, you think? Is it simple? It does not give to-step instructions please? Operating system is Vista.

    Thank you very much

    Angethehippy

Yes, you must use recovery discs and make clean OS install. After 2 years of use, I think that the operating system needs to be updated.

After the own OS, you will see that laptop will work a lot better than before.
Please also optimize OS: remove all the unnecessary stuff from the system and configure the Windows startup. This will make the start much more quickly.

  • Satellite L300 - cannot enter Windows and recovery disk will not stand

    Good evening

I have a Satellite L300. A month ago, I bought and install an upgrade to Windows 7 (I had Vista). Last night, my laptop was working fine and this morning when I opened it I got this error:

BOOTMGR is corrupt. the system cannot start.

I did some research and tried to boot from the recovery disc. Laptop computer the disc I get the windows is looding files screen and then a company Microsoft is displayed with a bar above it and then I get a blue screen that says:

    PROCESS1_INITIALIZATION_FAILED vista

Now what can I do to reformat my computer and reinstall if I can't load the recovery disc!

I tried to put my DVD of Vista I have for my other PC, but I have another error black screen...

Can someone tell me what I can do now?

Is it because I have a recovery CD for Windows Vista and not 7?

Okay, so I read several post here and the only thing I can't think is the hard drive... but it had already changed a few months ago by Toshiba... now my laptop is not less guarantee more with Toshiba, but I have an extended warranty with my VISA... If anyone has any idea here, I'll try to bring it where they change HARD drive the last time...

  • Recovery with Satellite L300 problem

I have a problem trying to restore my laptop Toshiba Satellite L300 to factory settings back!

OK so basically, my laptop Toshiba Satellite screwed up and I even turn the thing!
After a while, I was able to 'Restore factory settings' and then after typing my name and my Pc name etc., and after the latter had analyzed what it scans, it says "step 2: finish Prcoess Installation may take several minutes.» Do not interrupt or stop ' or or whatever it says...

Anyway, I don't know, but it seems to be stuck on this screen! I left it for like 30/40 minutes and it always did, so I turned it off by the button. Now when I turn it on, I can't do anything until there finishes this installation, but when I try to leave it, it doesn't do anything!

    Help, please!

    Additional details
I don't have a recovery disc! I restore or retrieve or another of the original on the HARD drive when you press F8 at startup to the top

    Any help appreciated

    Thank you, Andy

    Hello Andy

Unfortunately there is not some sort of magic bullet. A recovery facility works or not and there is no way to make it work somehow.

What you can do is to start the installation of recovery even once, if possible. Please do so and send feedback.

To be honest I don t understand why you didn't create Toshiba Recovery DVD s advice. If something goes wrong with the HARD drive or HARD drive recovery image can not be used you will be able to use recovery DVD for installing the OS.

  • Satellite L300 - Download the recovery disk?

    Hey there,

can anyone help? I got a Satellite L300 and today I wanted to reset everything. So, I started a recovery of the product. Too bad I haven't checked the DVD before you start. It struck although I use it before. So recovery stopped in the middle of nowwhere. I can't complete recovery - I can't launch computer - and I can't copy the disc on another computer (tried of course).

Is there a site where I can download a disk image of the recovery of product anywhere?

    Thank you!

    Hey horst,.

You can download t the Toshiba Recovery disk, but you can order a new one by clicking here:
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

By the way: If the operating system preinstalled by Toshiba is still installed you can also use HARD drive recovery option. So go to the advanced boot menu and select Repair my computer. After that, you have factory again and you can create a new recovery disk.
But remember: it is only possible on preinstalled OS. I guess it is Vista?
