Local storage setting is not persistent.

Hi all

I'm having a problem, try to increase the setting of local storage in my Flash Player. Given that I have installed the flash player local storage parameter is set to None. Whenever I have try to increase it, and then return to the settings panel there is reset to zero. I think it's a problem with my machine, is there something that could cause this problem? Permissions on a directory maybe? I have seen that local storage is stored in player %APPDATA%/Macromedia/Flash... but this directory does not exist for my user.

Thanks in advance,

Paul

Solved the problem, it was caused by the AppData registry setting on my machine doesn't point is not a valid path. The key can be found here "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders" even though I think you need to change here 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders' and when you log in the process explore will evaluate the settings of user Shell folders and move them across Shell Folders (so you have to maybe restart the process explore to make it work)

Running 4.3.30 VirtualBox guest additions installed. The virtual hard disk is located on a removable HARD drive for portability between workstations. I get a fairly homogeneous use, except for the fact that whenever I start it, I have to go into the settings of block diagram and disable "view as an icon" new terminals. Is this a documented error? Is there something that I am missing? Some registry setting I can use?

Are there other parameters in LabVIEW that you change also do not seem to stick?

It seems to me that LabVIEW is either not updating the LabVIEW.ini file with that setting (writing errors?), or virtual machine is to restore the LabVIEW.ini downgrade.

It is not a registry setting.  It is a setting in LabVIEW.ini called FancyFPTerms = False if LabVIEW place controls as ordinary terminals.  If this line is missing, then LabVIEW place the terminals as icons "Fancy."

I have a virtual machine with a lazy drive stocked thickness. When I change the size in the settings and click Refresh in VSphere client updates. However, even after the virtual machine restarts it does not reflect this change on the disc when I look in my computer. Any ideas?

It's the first half of the process, and now you must use diskpart to extend the operating system volume. There are some limitations that you should be aware of... You may not use part of disk on a system drive (ie. the C:\), or on a disk that has been configured for virtual memory (pagefile.sys). For a system drive, download and use the Dell extpart tool, which allows you to extend drives on the system without any downtime. For disks that contain a swap file, leave the page file (requires restart), and then use diskpart to extend the volume. For diskpart to work, make sure that your virtual disk service is running.

Do you need help with diskpart syntax? Open a command prompt, run as administrator if UAC is enabled, and then type diskpart. Type list disk to see the available disks. Type select disk #, where # is the disk you want to expand. Then type list volume to see the volumes. Now type select volume #, where # is the volume you want to extend. Now type extend, and you should see a message saying that the disc has been extended successfully. Type exit, close the command prompt and you should see the additional available disk space.

    See you soon,.

  • How to configure and use the local storage dirve and usb

My company bought a server DMM cisco as well as 10 players of 4310 g dmp.  I tried to work on mine here to get it all working.  Let me expose what we would do first before to get into the details.

The cental DMM will it play any content and be used to create and manage the content here at company wehre I am.  However my boss wants to send dmp individual players (4310 g) out to our factories across the country.  He wants me to be able to creat content or allow a person managing the exact address to edit the content and then push the content from the server DMM to corporate local DPM record either on local storage or attached thumb order.  I guess my questions on what are the following.

    (1) is it necessary to push the content locally for playback?  Willingness to play the content of our dmm on the wan to do lots of traffic?  Presentations could be as simple as a welcome page based presentation playing images video and flash.

    (2) based on local content would be a wise decision I'll have to see exactly how this is done poorly.  In the settings of the dmp, I see the setting of local storage and turned it on and set to read/write.  In regard to the command of thumb gose exactly how I implement that so that DPM can see?  I plug to the back of the drive, and it seems that it is active but the management console of the player I don't see anyway to actaully see if she knows the USB.

    (3) how will push the content for local storage and control of the DMM thumb?  It looks like I can send things to the storage internal if package transfer and or advanced/DPM deployment tasks or server file.  What exactly is the difference between these two?

    (4) Lastly how I actually play the local content of the dmp?  Can I set this up on a schedule of the dmm just like I would if he played the local dmm?

I searched through the documentation, but I have not found any good docs who are clear to actually how to do these things.  So, any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Glen,

Here are the answers to your questions

    1) is it nessesary to push the content locally for playback?  Will  playing content from our dmm over the wan be to much traffic?   Presentations could be as simple as a basic welcome page to a  presentation playing video and flash images.

It is not required to push the content locally, you can also play the DMM directly. The main advantage of playing on the spot, is that you can transfer the videos several hours or days before the presentation begins to be played if you deploy content off hours and then, when he's ready to start playing the new presentation.

If you play directly the content of the DMM, the content will be transferred at the time of the DMP starts playback. This may fail if the WAN link is saturated at that time here.

    2) If pushing the content local would be a wise decision I am having  difficulty seeing exactly how this is done.  In the dmp settings I see  the local storage setting and have it turned on and set to read/write.   As far as the thumb drive gose how exactly to I set that up so the dmp  can see it?  I plug it in the back of the player and it looks like it's  active but from the management console of the player I do not see any  way to actaully see if it knows about the usb thumb drive.

You don't need to do anything to enable USB storage, simply plug it in. To confirm that the DMP is able to see it properly, the simplest way is to connect to the DPM via FTP and confirm that he has a «usb_2» directory This "usb_2" directory, where is the USB drive is mapped.

    3) how will I push the content to the local storage and the thumb drive  from the DMM?  It looks like I can send things to the internal storage  though the advanced tasks/deployment package and or file transfer to DMP  or server.  What exactly is the differnce between these two?

The task of "File transfer" will just do this, transfer a file to the DMP. The deployment package is smarter and will transfer all the contents of a presentation and organize them in a structure that can be used to read the content locally. You should always use the deployment package.

    4) finally how will I actually play the content from the local dmp?  Can  I set this up on a schedual from the dmm just like I would if it was  playing from the local dmm?

Yes, she may be scheduled as any other presentation.

I suggest you have a look at the link below. He explains the steps required to configure the deployment package and read the content deployed with it.

  • Dealing with the Local Storage block size (vSphere 4)

I have a pretty basic question / easy I think I know the answer want to but to double check.  I spaced that vSphere 4.0 uses a default size of 1 MB, which began to cause problems with our backup software try to attach block vmdk is greater than 256 GB in size.  I want to continue to use local storage for our assistants of esXpress but to do this I need to have a larger block size to the local vmfs volume...  Question is can I safely delete the local storage (if nothing is done off of it) and add it and increase the block size or is there a way of installing to set greater than 1 MB block size?

    Easy points.  Thank you guys.

  • ESXi5.1 and large amount of Local storage

    Hello

I have an ESXi host 5.1 with a virtual machine, acting as a file server. The host has more than 4 TB of local storage that is not in use. Is it possible to introduce this 4TB as a single volume to the VM file server? I would just like to
be made available as a drive in Windows.

I read some solutions autour using RDM or by creating 2 TB VMDK and configuring as interval in Windows training. Are there other options?

    Thank you

    SoC

If you want to run a configuration support, virtual disks of ~ 2 TB are currently the only way to go, because RDM are supported only with LUNS on the shared storage. Personally, I would not combine the two virtual disks in the guest OS somehow (dynamic disks, RAID0) but consider split user data and is present through different actions or DFS.

  • Local storage - lack of space for the backup snapshot?

    Hi all

My apologies if this is an obvious question, but I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on a question I have about our ESXi server.

We run ESXi on a Dell PowerEdge 1950 III with 16 GB Ram and 200 GB RAID 5 15 K RPM SAS for local storage - we do not have a requirement for a SAN, etc. and I understand how 'best practice' implementation of ESXi and that local storage is not recommended.

    Our question is:

We are running very low on the amount of local storage on the server and we use a Perl script every night to create a snapshot of a VM only we want to save that copies the original VM on a separate NAS device files. Apart from slow performance, this configuration works well for us. However, during the backup of the file snapshot obviously grew up with changes that are made and once the backup is complete he writes these returns to the original vmdk file (or so I think). Can anyone tell what would happen if we managed to create a snapshot at the beginning of the backup, but the server ran out of space before the backup finishes and commit the change snapshot... it would seriously damage our original server vmdk?

If you would like more information on our installation program please let me know but I would like some advice before embark us on this... Thanks in advance.

    Stuart Little

If the volume is running out of space, even if you have an active member of snapshot on a virtual computer it stops running (the VM will crash) and you will not be able to commit the snapshot (free space is needed for this). Always avoid the chance of a filling volume, especially if you are using snapshots, while you probably won't lose data if you handle it properly (move the virtual machine to a volume with storage or free space before attempting to commit the snap) you will have at least virtual machine downtime.

  • Note of disapproval of player not persistent in VI Toolkit 1.5

I've updated my VI Toolkit (the script thing) 1.5 1.0 Tuesday, and I discovered a problem with one of my scripts.  Changes to the road from IndependentPeristent to IndependentNon-persistent States no longer work, produces the following message:

    Set-HardDisk
    : 12/02/2009 13:30:22    Set-HardDisk  C9875D59-A700-4FDC-AE1D-8DF0189623B9    Changing virtual hard
disk persistance from "IndependentPersistent" to "IndependentNonPersistent" is not supported. At
    C:\vmbop\VMBOp.ps1:163 char:58+  Set-Harddisk -VM (get-content $strVMList) | Set-HardDisk  <<<<-Persistence IndependentNonPersistent

While there is a slight pain as the script is concerned, the reason is a bit more concerning.

The bit that changes the persistence of the car is as follows:

Get - hard drive -VM $objVM | Hard drive set -Persistence IndependentNonPersistent

I thought that maybe the syntax has changed in this latest version, so I ran help against the command Set - hard drive that showed me what follows:

    -Persistence
Specifies the disk persistence mode. The valid values are: Persistent, NonPersistent, IndependentPersistent, IndependentNonPersistent, and Undoable. This parameter
is supported only when the disk type is set to "rawVirtual" or "flat". Note that the 'NonPersistent' and 'Undoable' persistence policies are deprecated and will be discontinued in future releases. Their
usage is not recommended because they do not work with snapshots and are not supported on ESX 3.5 and higher.

    I changed the command to:

Get - hard drive -VM $objVM | Hard drive set -Persistence not persistent

    Which resulted in the following:

    WARNING:
Consider using another persistence policy because 'NonPersistent' is deprecated
and will be discontinued in a future release. Also it doesn't work with
snapshots and is not supported on ESX 3.5 and higher.

    And then wrong with:

Set-HardDisk : 13/02/2009 14:15:53    Set-HardDisk    2A59A949-0BCF-4E7A-8837-4D3583D27C8A    Changing virtual hard disk persistance from "IndependentPersistent" to "NonPersistent" is not supported. At line:1 char:48
    + Get-Harddisk -VM MSIBenchmarking | Set-HardDisk  <<<< -Persistence NonPersistent

If VMware remove non-persistent features for disks, then this will cause me trouble, according to the circumstances, that I can't use snapshots.

Also, does anyone know how to fix the script so that it will work in VI Toolkit 1.5?

It looks like a bug. We change the behavior of this cmdlet, and I think it is because it is impossible to create discs of IndependentNonpersistent on 3.5. Which corresponds to your experience?

  • Flash does not work in FF26, it works in Chrome and IE. I reinstalled FF and Flash several times. I can't adjust the setting of local storage for Flash either.

Flash does not work on some web sites. I never had a problem before with flash on FF in the nearly 15 years that I've used FF. Recently it has stopped working for some reason any and on some flash sites does not, NHL.com and site of kid Herotopia being just two of them. I updated FF, Adobe flash, the reinstalled version them repeatedly deleted all the files that have been stored on my laptop; that is, profiles, saved favorite nothing that I could find in user accounts and in the local app, low local and roaming data folders. What is strange, is that I can't set the local storage for flash either. When I visit the Adobe site to view the Adobe Flash Player Settings Manager I can move the scroll bar, but cannot check the: allow third-party flash content to store data on your computer. I can't do it on a Web site where the flash does not work. When I try and it changed on any site that it goes back to zero. Not sure if it is a part of the problem. I got tired of many suggestions on the pages of material here, but nothing works. I even tried this http://forums.adobe.com/message/4566499#4566499#4566499

The other strange thing is that I used to get the "warning: script does not" prompt that displays "a script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding." You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script ends. "sometimes when I would buy on Macy's.com. This is the only site that it happened.
I know I have only little technical knowledge, but I have tried to figure this out for a few days and do not know what is happening. The only thing I can think is that I somewhere files corrupted causing this problem. I have just updated to Windows 8.1 tonight in the hope that can help, but nothing helped. I would be very disappointing if I couldn't use FF or must go back using Chrome and FF.

  • All local storage does not appear

    Greetings to all

We have a new Dell with ESXi5.1 Server preloaded.

He has installed locally 6 x 300 GB SAS disks. There is no external storage.

When I go into a store of configuration data, it shows only ~1.1TB of storage. (see att)

No idea why the other ~ 600 GB of storage does not appear.

It has something to do with Dell configuration a LUN with only 1.1 TB?

If so is there a way for me to vCenterServer5.1 for local storage LUN configuration?

    Thanks in advance

    Ooops solved this.

It's because of the whole through iDrac RAID

  • Creation of Raw Device Mapping (RDM) is not supported for local storage (1017530)

"Often, localstorage devices do not support VPD page 0x83 and can therefore be used for Raw Device Mappings (RDMS)." The content of the page 0x83 is used as a unique identifier for the device. For more information, see creating Raw Device Mapping (RDM) is not supported for local storage (1017530). »

Does anyone know if this is even the case for modern storage?

We are a dell shop, wishing to take advantage of the ability to create up to 64 TB RDM.

However, the storage of the host in question will be local SAS only.

Prefer not to have to merge muliple 2 TB VMDK into windows to make a record of 4.5 to.

Then projected on the presentation 1 x 4.5 CT rdm

If you plan to use a SAS controller, you should be able to do this. Your drive will be identified as a device of the naa, and you will be able to add as an RDM to VM - only with ESXi 5 (which can support more than 2 TB LUN).

It's basically not much you can do wrong and what you write on the configuration of the RAID that everything should be good. Can you confirm that the logical volume is detected by the RAID controller during startup?

Thanks in advance for the help. I am new to the Fusion software. Yesterday I wanted to try my hat installation nested ESXi and some VM to play with some of the features of vSphere. I installed 6 Fusion on my MacBook Pro and then install ESXi in my instance of Fusion.  Full ESXi installation without any error.  I then connect to the ESXi Server nested through the c# client so that I could then begin the installation of my 'test' in this environment. The first thing I noticed then on the client, it's only storage who sees the nested ESXi is the drive on which it is installed on and none of my other local storage?  I do my best to try to understand what could be the cause?  Is there something that I need to configure again or add?

  • Appstacks local storage

What happens if I have an environment with 8 guests with only the local storage (Fusion-IO for example). Only pooled (persistent stateless/no) workstations are used. How can I make sure that each Appstack is located on each store local data and how to assign these appstacks users? How doe App Volumes know on which host the user log on to a desktop computer and set the local appstacks?

If you replicate the Appstacks in each data store, go to the storage tab, add the data store and then go to the Volumes tab and import each of them you will have an appstack in each store of data able to be affected. Assign to each appstack using local attach to users and App Volumes will join the local AppStack to each user and ignore the other assignments. Is not ideal but will work until the sets of additional features are added to this address.

In addition to the error message when my PC goes into mode 'sleep' & the monitor turns off, I am unable to wake up the screen saver.
What is this error and how to fix it & the problem of monitor

    Hi Adrien,.

According to the description, it seems that you are having problems with the startup error message and the computer doesn't wake up from its sleep.

Follow the suggestions below for a possible solution:

Method 1: I suggest you perform the clean boot and check if the problem persists.

Place the computer in a clean boot state, then check if it helps. You can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
