Location using the simulator tests

I use Eclipse to develop and test a "Hello World" application I've included resources files for English and the French understand and test the localization of the application plan. I am however stuck, test the application with the french properties.

I tried to configure a new profile in the simulator by providing "/ local en =" as a parameter of the command line in the hope that the Blackberry Simulator will use French as the default language and so the French beam will be used for rendering the user interface. There is a generation of application step I'm missing to get the location missing?

Any help to test the localization will be much appreciated. Thank you.

It is a fairly old article, but as far as I know, it is still correct:

  • Of the alternatives to the Simulator: test applications on the phone

I'm an amateur who has developed applications of office before. I want to develop applications for my phone BB10. My Dell Dimension E521 (old), however, does not support virtualization and the BB Simulator is ultra slow. I can't use it to test my code. So, my questions are: (1) is there another way I can try my code, in addition to performing on my phone? and (2) if the answer is no, I risk screwing up my phone by using it to test my code, if it turns out that buggy or full of errors (I'm a newbie, after all :-)

There is no options beyond what you have listed here.  The risks of tests on your actual device are quite low.  The applications are sandboxed, they cannot really affect other applications.  But you might cause problems if your code does something bad, delete pictures from the camera Director or delete all your contacts.

  • When sqlite database will be located in the Simulator.

    Hi all

I wanted to get the location of the sqlite database file, but don't really know where it is located.

Here is my code to create a database.

     QSqlDatabase database = QSqlDatabase::addDatabase("QSQLITE");
     database.setDatabaseName("./data/customerDatabase.db");

    Any help would be appreciatied.

Oh, I think that I understand your question now.

The db file will be updated

    //data/customerDatabase.db

The com.example.quotes.testDev_mple_quotes19e3de88 file will be little difference in your Simulator. You must use the System target file browser (Windows--> views show others-->--> QNX target--> target file system browser) to navigate to this folder.   You should find the folder with the name of the started by your package declared in your bar - descriptor.xml name.

  • by using the Simulator on Eclipse

I have been using eclipse for the coding and packaging, this is a nice tool.  -for debugging, I used the Blackberry JDE. Currently running the Simulator in the BB JDE is not complicated but when multiple API versions has to be tested as well as having a production version and a version of development running the number of workspaces increases. I therefore decided to take a go at the Simulator in Eclipse. After an hour I had it almost working but finally ends and "Device error - Blackberry Smartphone Simulator", "the catastrophic Assertion failure". If the BB JDE Simulator is "screwdriver", the eclipse is a double "Swiss Army Knife". So many settings and not a lot of explanation (that I found). Is there a 'manual' on the use of the Simulator on Eclipse somewhere?

For example. In the BB JDE, I put a flag on a module is a module system, and must be loaded initially. Not found in Eclipse. There are a lot of other parameters. I want just a basic configuration which works like the BB JDE. The main application is a Midlet and my modules are still running listeners

It is a mistake of the BlackBerry smartphone itself Simulator (Windows application), not simulated applications.

    Please, try the following:

    1. Click the Project menu in Eclipse.
    2. Choose BlackBerry-> own Simulator...
    3. Select all, and then click OK.

This will reset all the BlackBerry smartphone simulators to their default state.  Now repackage and run your application again.

  • Changes in the driver vi using the Simulation Interface Toolkit (SIT) for PXI get do not appear.

    Hello

I use Simulation Interface Toolkit to target a controller built in Simulink on a PXI target. I used the SIT connection manager to generate the driver screws I had to make some changes in the screw driver specifically Read.vi IO. I made the changes and the entire application runs without error. But the changes are not getting in the functioning of the application, essentially when I load the thing on PXI and run it, it contains exactly as it was before behaiving I made these changes. Some how the changes I make to the Read.vi of e/s are not begin day somewhere in the top vi driver.

Could someone help me with this please.

    Eliane.

    Hi Justin_P,

Thank you very much for the reply. Solved the problem. What you're saying, that's certainly true, but I do not use the project.

The problem was that whenever it makes a change one driver that saw VI top-level driver must be opened and saved again. This opening and registration links the pilot with new changed correctly VI and then everything works fine.

    Thanks again.

    Eliane.

  • Problems using the local test on a Mac server

I defined a local test for my website server: connect you using Local/network; file server: / Users /... / FPPATesting /; Web URL: http://localhost/FPPATesting/; For model server: No.  The site is hosted on a server of InMotion.

I see that my local server folder was automatically filled with site files, but there are many missing, although the index.shtml file is there. If I drag the index.shtml file in the test folder in the field URL of Safari, it shows pretty much as it should, except that my Include files were not loaded. the Include files are in the folder test, but they aren't repeated. I get the same result if I choose Preview in Safari. And in this case, the files are all taken from the test folder; If the test server seems to be recognized by Dreamweaver.

Curiously, if in the test folder, I open the file index.shtml, in Dreamweaver, Live View in Dreamweaver displays a seemingly complete site - almost. It is not complete because there not all the image files for the site. But the Include files have been included.

So my problem is from my test server. I thought that call for a preview in one of the browsers show me the full site. Would it because I chose a server model "None"? I didn't know what else to use, as I am not including any content database. What should I do now?

This can help working with server-side includes in Dreamweaver.

  • Location of documents in the Simulator

  • Can I use the XCode with CS6 Flash Pro iPhoneSumulator

I think it's possible, but I can't find clues on how to start.

Anyone know how I can use it. The Adobe iphone Simulator is not very helpful at all. and does that iphone Anuak

    Thank you

Assuming that you are aware of the CS6 updates, and you have installed XCode, you do the following:

In your FLA that is configured to use AIR 3.4 or later, look in the application settings, general tab.

You should see a field labeled "iOS Simulator SDK: Here, you put the full path to the Simulator. The path is more likely to be:

    /Applications/XCode.app/Contents/developer/platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/developer/SD Ks/iPhoneSimulator6.0.sdk

Once you have done this, you should be able to do the two film of Control/Test/iOS Simulator and the Debug/Debug/iOS Simulator movie.

If you do the debug version, wait the progress edition disappeared, the Simulator is open in the background and select Debug/Begin Remote Debug Session / ActionScript 3.0. Once Flash is "waiting for connection", hover over the Simulator and open your application.

You can see that the icon is on the second page of icons. As you would on the iPhone, you can move the icon in the dock of the Simulator, or on the first page of the icons. Then when you other tests the app will be installed in this location.

By using the Simulator will save you hours of time!

Oh, one other thing - you can simulate multitouch by holding down the Option key, which will give you two points in finger on the Simulator screen mirror, which is good for stocks pinch test. If you also have the SHIFT key, you will be able to simulate stock pan.

  • SDK can not connect to the Simulator in VMware

My operating system: Windows 7 64-bit

SDK version: 10.0.9; Build id: v201212072306

    VMware Player Version: 5.0.1 build-894247

Video card: NVIDIA GTX 560 Ti

I'm trying to use the simulator of 10 BlackBerry, running in VMware Player, to test applications under development in the native BlackBerry SDK. However, when I try to run these applications from the SDK and connect to the Simulator, I see that even though (I think) I got the correctly configured IP address for the target, it is still listed as "Not connected" in the list of Options of the target (I don't know if this is normal or not). Then, if I try to launch the project in any case, I get the following error message:

"Unable to connect. Make sure USB cable or Wi - Fi is connected, the IP address is correct, and the mode of development. »

Sorry if I didn't explain very clearly, this is very new to me, and I still have trouble getting my head around it. I'm sure there is probably some information that I forgot to include in this post, but I will provide if I think that whatever it is.

I have been looking for solutions to the question, but it seems that there could be many possible causes, so I thought it would be better to make a new thread specifically for my situation. I tried the following:

-Check that the development Mode has been activated (it seems that it has been enabled by default)

-Ping I thought several times, was the IP address of the command line simulator (sometimes I had to meet with success, but not at the beginning)
    -Disabling Windows Firewall
    -Running a .bat file with 'ipconfig/release; ipconfig / renew. ipconfig/flushdns ".
-I check the correct target for the Simulator IP address (double-check this confuses me a little, but I think I can find it in "Settings"-> "About" simulation-> 'Network' menu?)
-Temporarily disable Avast! antivirus software to check if she is interfering
-Verification of VMware Windows were running (I think he installed four of them in total)
-Uninstall (then reboot) and reinstall the SDK, Simulator and VMware and restarting, repeatedly

-Windows asked to troubleshoot the connection of VMnet8 of VMware; He said DHCP must be enabled, but then failed to do this for me (this left me confused; I wasn't sure if it was important or not)

-Passage of the NAT VMware Bridged mode for the simulator mode, then the connectivity test (it doesn't seem to help, and the "About"-> page 'Network' in the simulation was empty), then power back up

Any help or any what pointers to additional information, I would give, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

EDIT: I also cant seem to get QML previews to work at all. I don't know if it is related to my other question, but I thought it might be worth mentioning, and this is something else I would try to fix, if possible. I tried to update my drivers, but to no avail.

Solution found! I just tried to add a target in the software development kit using the IP address on 'Settings' of the Simulator-> "About"-> "Network" screen, but the target has been filtered out of the list, unless I unchecked "target filter based on the selection of C/C++ applications". If I unchecked, the target has been classified as ' 192.168.31.128 (Neutrino / x 86) ', but the Run button was grayed out when I chose it and I noticed the error message, ' binary Selected target do not match x 86 "at the top of the window." I have googled this error message and found the following (quite old) thread:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/native-development/QNX-IDE-target-selected-binary-and-target-...

After reading through and testing, it turns out that all I had to do was change the active configuration in the drop-down list at the top of the window SDK 'Device-Debug' for 'Simulator-Debug", little"hammer"that I needed to build to the Simulator and not a real physical BlackBerry device. Here is a quote from the post of cdamus, which is where I found the solution:

"A little trick to streamline your workflow: prospects for development C/C++ has a little"hammer"toolbar of action that you can pull down (click on the black triangle next to it) to define and build the active configuration in one step, for one or several projects."  The icon to the right (it looks a bit like a sundial) defines the active configuration, but is not build. »

I took a screenshot to help indicate the setting that I need to use:

Hope this helps you chuma and anyone else who has this problem. Thanks for the tip, cdamus!

  • SE connect Blackberry 10 Simulator and BBM works does not in the Simulator

    Hi all

I use QNX momentics IDE for development and blackberry 10 Simulator.

I use the simulator using VMWare workstation. A problem that occurs is that my Simulator is impossible to connect to BBM. Although the Internet is there on Simulator (checked with the browser on Simulator). As far as newspapers are concerned in the case of the blackberry simulators 9900 and 9930 counted out newspapers and event logs.

But in this Blackberry 10 Simulator, I could not find newspapers where they are generated.

Please tell me the location where in 10 blackberry Simulator logs are generated.
