Lost CD/DVD player

My computer OS is Vista, and I had a defective CD/DVD drive replaced by the shop I bought. It worked when I brought home, but now, in 'my computer', it shows that drive d is now a disk that I don't have in my computer. I rarely used the CD/DVD drive and noticed recently disappeared. PnP should pick up but does not work. Now I can do? Could the BIOS have been modified in some way, where I need to flash with an upgrade?

  • I lost my DVD player. What should I do?

I was hanging a new monitor and stop by mistake without taking the CD on my DVD player.  Now I can't open the drive.  Went into device Mgr and it is not yet listed plus.  Now what should I do?  The CD for the new monitor is stuck in there and I still need.

Look at your DVD player.  You should see a small hole just large enough to insert the end of a paper clip relaxed in.  Unfold a paper clip and insert it into the hole.  The reader should then open.

  • Stuttering, beeps and the DVD Player lost on Satellite M40 149

    Hello

For some time now the laptop will work ok for about 1 to 2 hours, and then all of a sudden the speakers start making random pitch high bleeps distorted very strong. When it starts, the system starts stuttering. Every 2 seconds or so it will freeze for about 1/4 of a second. All treatments freezes - including the sounds and display. It's annoying, but generally a slight Jolt sorts it...

When this happens occasionally the DVD player will also disappear, and I need to reboot to get it back. Sometimes I need to leave it off for a short time so I think it's perhaps something to do with overheating?

In any case, my main problem now is that the DVD drive is very rarely now. I used a few tools of analysis of the firmware and the connection to the drive port is present but the laptop cannot connect to it. I thought that maybe s DVD firmware update can fix this, but I couldn't yet.

I couldn't find all the previous reports of the present. Anyone has any idea what this could be? Or how I can fix this?

If she came, I'd be happy to buy an external DVD drive, but the presence of the bad connection interferes with some other tasks, I have...

    Thank you

How to replace the drivers lost for dvd drive that is not recognized by the computer.

If you can connect to the internet, go to the website of the manufacturer of your make and model of PC support and required drivers should be available there. If the drive is an external DVD, go to the support site for the manufacturer of your DVD drive specific make and model and they should be available here.

Device manufacturers generally provide drivers rather than Microsoft.

  • Satellite P105 carpet * a dvd player does not work with Win 7

    Greetings,

I need an upgrade on my dvd to my vintage Satellite P105.
I want the possible fastest dvd burner right now because I'm a fan of film and keep them in digital memory.

    (1) first should I get an external drive or can I get the best performance with an internal dvd replacement of a reseller of parts or Toshiba?

The problem is when I've upgraded to windows 7 things have changed. I lost my sound, but that solved using a driver inherited Visa as apparently the sound 'Council' on the laptop is for Vista only. Then I found the dvd player which is a mitsu * an internal UJ-450 does not or is extremely slow in saving films, records or files. The available recording software seems also planned for Vista performance was acceptable. Even the dvd burning software does not work.

    (2) so my question for multimedia specialists is: what should be my next move?

    (3) should I go outside and confront the neck of the bottle USB or

    (4) to make the speed of the bus on the internal dvd?

    (5) given an internal dvd is preferable, because it's exactly a dvd-ram/IDE as it is currently, or some other configuration of bus.

    (6) most importantly, what dvd burner would give me 18 x speed with current programs like ConvertXtoDVD and did as a symbol external or - better - as an internal dvd replacement or my slow drive currently?

Of course, if you could give me a model number and direct me to the sales it would be much appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

    > 1) first of all I should go for an external drive or can I get optimal performance with a dvd replacement internal to a coin dealer or Toshiba?

You should know that not all internal STRANGE machines are compatible. You will need to use a not compatible and supported and such device could be ordered in a local ASP.
But it s more expensive as an external CD/DVD device so you could also choose an external that would be compatible with all computers and laptops available.

(> 2) so, my question for multimedia specialists is: what should be my next move?
As mentioned. Good option would be to buy an external burner drive ODD

(> 3) should I go outside and confront the neck of the bottle USB or
External device are compatible with all computers and are less expensive

(> 4) go to the speed of the bus on the internal dvd?
If you have the money for an internal device and want to use it with P105 only then you can also choose an internal burner.

(> 5) because a dvd internal is preferable, because it is exactly a dvd-ram/IDE as it is currently, or some other configuration of bus.
As far as I know it s an IDE interface, but the device would support setting master or slave or c - salt. As mentioned, you can buy a Toshiba a recommended.

(> 6) especially, what dvd burner would give me 18 x speed with current programs like ConvertXtoDVD and did as a symbol external or - better - as an internal dvd replacement or my slow drive currently?

  • I need the plastic cover to my DVD player

DVD's of a Toshiba Satellite A215-S4757 (PSAEGU-01100U) and I lost the plastic that goes to the front of the car. The guys at toshiba say that they carry spare parts, but I know that the part exists somewhere I just need to find :).

Hmm, I doubt they are available separately since there is no generic size. Every ODD manufacturer place the LED and button and clips in different places and may even be different within their own range of ODD.

Send the laptop to an ASP and ask for a quote. You can get a quote for all good DVD player.

  • No DVD player

Update Windows and my drivers has changed. I lost my driver for my DVD player tried to reinstall via internet and it did not work. Tried to use the Dell driver disk and no player will not work. Did some internet research and problems of compatibility with the drive that is installed there. The driver is TSST corp DVD + - TS L632H ATA device. On the internet, it asks where you want the driver and I put, it will be dell drivers and it did not work. Not knowing where the original drivers didn't know where to put them. I have tried to restore but "Has not helped" able to reset to factory settings, but then I lose all the files and the internet until it can be reprogramed. OK, so I know a little computer stuff, just enough to ge me trouble. Can anyone help?

If you made the mistake to use winupdate to update the drivers, simply push this update of the driver. Then configure winupdate NOT for the updates recommended.

Since you have a system Dell sound Dell where get you the drivers. Since the dvd uses the drivers of win by default I think you need to install the Dell chipset driver. Other problems with the Dell dvd it will be answered in the Dell forums or on the Dell page specific to your Dell model

  • Need to reinstall Vista, but the DvD player does not work

Alright. That is the problem. I installed windows 7 on my laptop because a virus crashed my windows vista and the lost disk. After installing windows 7 my dvd player wouldn't even appear or open. As there is no power going to it. Before installing 7 worked well. I want to downgrade back to windows vista. I had an iso, mounted police and when installed would not let me because the car is not active or something. Went to disk management in the config of the admin and active player. That I reset. When starting it stops saying BOOTMGR is missing press ctrl alt del to restart. I don't know what else to do. Help, please.

Here's how to clean install Vista:

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  • DVD player not recognized after the upgrade to windows 8

I write this to document some odd behavior, that I lived after the upgrade to Windows 8 in the hope that it might save some grief for others.  Of course, if someone could explain why this problem occurs, I'd be very interested/grateful for an answer.

I recently updated my computer from Vista Ultimate to Windows 8.  I did a clean install of Windows 8, because there is nothing special about the machine I wanted to preserve.  In all cases, the upgrade went without a hitch and I was soon back up with Windows 8 as my OS (I really like, btw).

The only oddity I noticed after the upgrade is that my DVD drive was not recognized by the operating system.  Remember, this is the same DVD player that was used to install the OS, so I found it rather peculiar.  After a bit of lost time, try software solutions theoretical I started to play with the equipment.

My motherboard is an ASUS M3A78-EM.  My hard drive is attached to the SATA1 port and my DVD player is plugged into the SATA2 port.  I removed the DVD drive from SATA2, plugged into SATA3, restart Windows 8 (from HDD on SATA1) and Windows 8 now recognizes the drive!

I thought it was really weird, so I stop, put the DVD on SATA2 drive, rebooted, and the drive was no longer available in Windows 8.

OK, so I thought that maybe the SATA2 channel was bad (even if he had worked at the Windows 8 DVD installation, just an hour or two before), so I put my HDD on SATA2 and the DVD drive on SATA1.  After doing this, Windows 8 start very well (so there is nothing wrong with SATA2), and it recognizes the DVD on the SATA1 drive.

OK, so I did that for a while, and virtually all combinations I tried worked as long as the DVD player is not plugged in SATA2.

I cannot live with that, but thought it was really strange.  Also, I note that the old operating system (Vista) was acknowledging the same DVD player while it was plugged on SATA2.  This leads me to believe that the problem has something to do with Windows 8, but I can't imagine what could be the cause.

Thanks dude.  After you create this registry key/value and restart Windows 8 was able to finally see my DVD drive on SATA2.  =)

  • My inner smartdrive dvd player won't read DVDs more.  I have updated to Snow Leopard in Yosemite.

I am currently using OS X Yosemite 10.10.5.  I bought in 2009 iMac with Snow Leopard and have to Lion then updated my current operating system.  The internal dvd player has worked with much fussing, (insert the disc - closing - turn after a wait - by pushing the drive when he jumped on reboot).  If I had the chance after a few hours, the video disc show up on my desk.  When this happened, I was opening the dvd player that was in the Finder and the disc would play. I also tried to open the dvd first player and then insert the disc.  That no longer works.  Yesterday, only it just stop working.  The reader still takes dvd and swirls and click as before but then ejects the dvd. Repeatedly stop and restart is no longer works.  I make sure that the dvd be clean before I use it and have tried many different DVDs without success.  I think it's a software issue.  Does anyone have an idea/instructions a nearly dead grandmother brain that can follow to update or redate back to original factory setting to help this poor Smartdrive not so smart?

I have no TV, only my computer and phone at low prices.  I need to watch that my library borrowed from the dvd.

    Thank you.

I suspect the optical drive has failed. My 2009 Mac Mini could not shoot with same symptom 4 years ago.

To confirm a drive failure, insert a Snow Leopard installation DVD and try to start with the C key.

If this isn't the case, they drive could not be started.

  • DVD player freezes when audio editing

My application DVD player recently started crashing every time that trying to change the volume of the silent era. The laptop is a MacBook 12 "retina 2015, using an external DVD drive that has worked very well for a year. Have tried on many different DVDs and they all load fine, DVD player auto-commence, but they all open with no sound. If I try to increase the volume of 0 on the slider, the player crashes. If I try to access audio via the menu 'Options' menu does load not for Audio and audio disk configuration is similarly frozen to corruption. Other audio works fine on the machine. Any idea on what could be the problem? Thank you.

    Greetings bhan001,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support. It seems you want to play a dvd on the MacBook connected via an external dvd drive. Given that the application crashes using each dvd that you tried it may be a problem with the application itself. There are a few things that we can try to isolate and solve the problem.  I would recommend you read these articles, starting in safe mode disables the 3rd party applications that may interfere with the DVD player application. If the problem persists, we can try a new user to test to see if it's a matter of profile or the scale of the system.

Try safe mode if your Mac does not end commissioning

  • bk 2011 pro Mac dvd player spits out dvd

I have a 15 inch 2011 mac book pro. The dvd player does not work. When you insert a dvd into the computer, the computer acts like it's going to run it, but then he spits. She also shows an error message of the dvd drive on the launch pad. I use the dvd player / cd player a lot. Help, please.

    Hey glerouxwende,

Thank you for being a part of the communities of Apple Support.

I understand from your post that your MacBook Pro is not mounting dics and is just spit them back.  It's probably what is originally an error of the DVD player.  To help solve this problem, I would like to you please follow the steps below:

Accepts discs, but they do not install or are ejected automatically

    1. Make sure that the drive is not placed in reverse. The aluminum case must be upward as shown in section 1.
    2. Check the surface of the disc for scratches and dirt, as these things can prevent the disk on the desktop.
    3. Connect the SuperDrive for MacBook Air drive directly to the USB port of the computer instead a USB hub.
    4. Reset the controller management system (SCM).
    5. Make sure that your drive can read the disc type. The System Profiler or an Information system can provide additional information on the subject of what is supported by your computer media.
      • OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard or earlier: Open Apple System Profiler by choosing "about this Mac" from the Apple () menu. Then, click on details.
      • OS X Lion v10.7 and later: click the Apple () menu and hold down the Option key. Select system information in the menu.
    6. If the disc continues to not be recognized, Contact Apple or an provider of services authorized Appleor make an appointment with a Store Apple Store.
