OfficeJet 6000 E609n: HP Officejet 6000 does not connect wireless modem.

I have Windows 8.1.  My HP Officejet 6000 wireless printer E609n worked well, until the modem is dead and a new one has been installed (new address).  I need to know how to recognize the new network address.  (Note: I tried to install the original installation software, but the CD would run under Windows 8).

Hi @indyham

You can use the following link to download and install the full software functionality for Windows 8.1; Printer wireless HP Officejet 6000 - E609n.

I hope this helps.

  • OfficeJet 7410 does not connect via WiFi and will not scan

I don't know if this post is in the right place, but here goes:

I have a 7410 OfficeJet that was connected to my home network so that I could print/scanning wireless to it from any computer in the House.  It worked well for a while.  I am running Windows XP SP 3.

We lost power for a few days during the hurricane (Fortunately it was our one central issue), and when the power was restored the 7410 wouldn't connect to the wireless network (we have FiOS).  I checked the unit identifies the correct system ID (and I entered the WEP key), but when I try to install from the desktop computer, it can not find the 7410 (laptop computer also was not able to find the 7410).  The only way I could get the desktop to detect the 7410 is to connect it to the router with an ethernet cable (it does not work with the laptop).  I also can't connect to the wireless printer if I put the IP address in my browser (I'm able to do when it's connected via ethernet).  Not sure if it is a firewall issue.

When the 7410 is connected to the router with the ethernet cable, I could print to it without any problems.  However, I can't scan from it.  When I try to scan, I get the error message "when trying to scan, could not find the required user interface file (Please reinstall scanning software).  I uninstalled and reinstalled the HP software, but I still get this message.  I also followed the instructions here: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00516936 but that has not solved the problem.

This morning, I uninstalled the printer with the hope that, put it back in place could solve the problem of scanning, but now the computer is not able to find the printer, even if it is connected by ethernet.

I hope I gave enough information.  Ideas/comments/suggestions would be appreciated.

I think I see what's happening. You just need to reestablish the connection to the printer wireless. The document below should help you with that. Once you have done so, the software shouldn't have a problem connecting to the wireless printer.

  • Devices does not connect wireless. Validation of identity?

I have a Wireless-g router broadband model # WRT54GS2, the source of the internet is a Sprint card mobile broadband px-500 that plugs into my laptop.  The router and connection worked very well until someone hit the hard reset on the router button.  I have configured the router using the provided installation cd.  After the reset button has been affected, I tried to use the cd to resolve the connection problem but, I can't use the cd because it repeat 301 error: internal error.  Is there something I can do to set up the router again and get the connection going manually?  I can connect to the wireless using a laptop but it says validation of identity, and the connection will not work.  How can I fix this?!  THX!

-Also, I know how to get on the web based Setup by putting my ip address in the browser but, I don't know how to fix my connection problem.

With the computer connected wireless to your router, open the web interface at http://192.168.1.1/ the default password is "admin". Now, perform the following steps:

    1. change the address LAN IP of 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.0.254 WRT.
    2. on the same page, disable the DHCP server.
    3. save the settings. You will lose the connection.

    4. connect one of the LAN ports numbered from the WRT to the ethernet port on your computer with the card Strip. Do not use the internet port of the WRT!

That should do it. Now all your other computers can connect to the internet through the computer with the card Strip.

Remember that from now on, you need to configure the WRT on http://192.168.0.254/ also don't forget to secure the router, either change the default password on the Administration and a separate SSID page and enable security wireless WPA2 with a password hard.

    Hey Egan,

Thank you for the update.  I appreciate it.

I've included screenshots of the process for your 4630 Officejet set an IP address manual and manual DNS servers.   Please start by disabling IPv6. The screenshots are to set the manual ip address for IPv4.

    1. Please enter the IP address of the printer in the address bar of your browser.

    2. Click on the network tab.  Please click on 'Network' in the menu on the left side.

    3. Please click on ' network (IP) address "in the menu on the left side.

    4. Please click the radial button next to "Manuel IP" then click on the button 'Suggest a manual IP Address'.  IP address manual, manual subnet mask and the Default Gateway manual must complete for you.  Please click the radial "manual DNS Server."  Please enter for the manual preferred DNS Server 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for the Alternate DNS Server Manual.

    5. After entering the information please click 'apply '.

    6. You should now have a screen indicating the changes made have been updated successfully.

  • Officejet 5610 - does not connect to the airport with USB

You want to enable the printer to be used by all devices on my network. Works fine when USB connected directly to my Mac running OS 10.6.8. When USB connected to the AirPort Extreme wireless router, however, printer is visible on Mac and on my network, but is "offline." Cannot get printer to recognize that it is connected. Downloaded the latest version of the driver. Reset all devices. No luck. Any thoughts?

We will restore the print system:

-Go to System Preferences > Print & Fax
-Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - This will remove ALL your printers!
-Select the sign more to add a printer. Search for the printer, select it, and wait until the button 'Add' becomes available. Until it clicks.

Well - I'm happy to say that my machine works with WPA.

I downloaded the latest driver and the last IBM Wireless Connection Manager.

When you use Connection Manager, I have the ability to use WPA. in windows (zero configuratoin, it still doesn't work)

In addition, I had to change my router to support the types b & g (it was set to "g only").

    Thank you everyone

and I hope this will help others.

  • C310a does not connect wireless to Macbook Pro.

Lion downloaded and used successfully for a month.  Has taken my Macbook Pro on the road; now impossible to connect the printer wireless.  Thoughts?

In fact, when all else failed, I unplugged by cable modem, router (Apple Airport) and printer.  Full solved first reboot the problem (for the things I tried, anyway).  So far so good, thank you for your offer of assistance.

  • HP Officejet 6700 Premium suddenly does not connect to my Macbook Pro more

    Hey everybody,

I got my HP Officejet for over a year and it has always worked perfectly. It has a stable wifi connection. Yesterday, all of a sudden the printer did not respond, so I asked my brother, who is the type of an It'er and removed the printer from the "Print & Scan" system preferences. Now, however, it will not be added more. As I said, it doesn't have a stable wifi connection, and I can see the presence of the printer when I click on the plus to add a printer, but then, if I want to add it, it says "cannot communicate with the printer at this time." I rebooted the computer laptop and printer and even left stop for the night, but it does not work. Nobody knows anything else to try?

Thank you very much in advance

    Hi Elizaanne,

I understand that you are having problems with HP Officejet 6700 Premium does not connect to your Macbook Pro.

The router must sometimes be recycled.  I unplug the router, turn off the printer, shut down the computer.

Turn on router wait 5 min and turn on the printer and the computer.

Check the printer if the Wifi is STRONG.

Open Preferences system, Print and or print and scan pane. If you see the printer listed
Click Printer button remove. It will ask for confirmation to delete printer.
Click on add it or + button, select the MFP Hello not Fax. Adding that should update the drivers.

If the Wifi of the printer is not fixed, you will need to reconfigure.

    1. Press the power button to turn on the printer.
