Lost Connection using the Magic Mouse

For a week, whenever I move the mouse, it freezes with a pop - up message "lost connection".  Click again and the connection is re-established.   I replaced the batteries, but the problem persists.  This week, the problem got worse. All solutions?

Hello Carolyn,

Can you tell me a little more about your mouse and the machine that you are using.   Your profile says you're on 10.5.8 which means that you use the system to Leopard.   Is this correct?

Can you tell me what brand of batteries you use and whether they are regular or rechargeable?

If you hold the mouse upside down is the flicker of green light or is it stable?

If you shake it is there any noise from traffic on the inside?

  • the magic Mouse loses connection

I have an iMac 21.5 "running 10.11.6. Recently, I added a to an existing stereo system bluetooth connectivity so I could broadcast on the system. By the way since then I lose my connection to the mouse. I get "connection lost" notification even if the mouse is sitting idle without hands even near him. I tried the suggested pieces of paper, battery replacement and any other thing, I found displayed. Nothing works. As I was typing that I got the message several times, and I'm not even using the mouse! I have another computer in another location and plan to try to see if the problem changes switching. I suspected that the additional bluetooth device could be the culprit, but I tried to unplug and had the same results. It is not a problem with another computer running the same operating system, even if a year or two older hardware. The intermittent mouse problem existed before, but I've lived with him because he doesn't seem to be that bad. Now, I have moved and am in an apartment complex and wonder if there is an interference cause me pain. I do not know to replace the mouse by a non Apple device can solve the problem or if I need to use a WIRED one remedy! The keyboard has never given me problems and with the exception of the low battery notification, it has worked perfectly.

There is no reason why the iMac should not be able to use a USB mouse. With the mouse connected to the computer off the computer tower and turn it back on. Now it doesn't recognize the mouse? If this is not the case, try a SMC reset.

  • Pair magic keyboard or the magic mouse 2 with multiple Macs

We have two El Capitan 10.11.3 running MacBook Air.  We have an office for a docking configuration environment / clamshell with an external monitor, a keyboard of magic and Magic Mouse 2.  As one of us needs to use this office Installer, anchor us the MacBook and then use the Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse 2.  However, whenever a MacBook is exchanged, we must re-pair the mouse and the keyboard using the connector of the lightning, because the Exchange system throws a 'unsuccessful connection. Please connect the device again. "error.

These two devices are unable to maintain matching configurations to multiple Macs?  I read several reviews on this site that describes how to join multiple Macs using the mouse Magic Mouse and wireless keyboard.  It would be very disappointing if this feature has been ruled out.  In fact, let's make these devices if this is the case.  We understand devices does not simultaneously connect to two Macs, and it would be nice if we did not re-pairing through lightning connector whenever we swapped the laptop used in the office,

    Thank you!

You can only pair you with one device at a time. They are not multi-user features. You can use on a single computer at a time.

  • The magic mouse disconnects all working

Everything working on my Macbook Pro connection bluetooth magic mouse stops every now and then on his own. I have to wait a few seconds before clicking on, reconnect the mouse. It looks like a period of connection, but I can't find an entry in the system preferences, where I can fix this.

Asked a solution in some Apple stores, a.s.o. iCentres, but nobody has an answer that solves the problem. Someone at - it an idea? The problem started with the implementation of Yosemite.

As you have upgraded to El Capitan, you are unlikely to achieve the full functionality with your mouse A1296.   The magic mouse 2 has been designed to work with El Capitan and superior and is now generally available.

  • HP DV6T-1300 lost connectivity to the internet, error display 701

I have a laptop HP DV6T - 1300 Entertainment who has lost connectivity to the internet, and it displays error 701. All of my diagnostic checks, I think that he has lost the pilot because he does not have a wireless card. I downloaded the drivers wireless (five each) HP support and assumes that the Realtek driver is the original. What is the purpose of all other drivers (Broadcom, Atheros, Wireless & Bluetooth Pro) and they need to be installed or not? They are updated day or improvements or are drivers for the other cards in different models of this computer? I use the laptop for my wife to access the net until I fix this. Thanks in advance!

After that to install the Realtek driver (original), I discovered that the software does not recognize that there is a wireless card. In my view, the map is part of the motherboard and may have failed. I suspect that my best solution may be to buy an external wireless card and install it. Any suggestions?

I don't know exactly what happened, but after restarting a couple of times, the wireless card started working again. He works actually better than what he has. The downloaded driver was an updated version, and this may explain the improvement.

Different cards for different models of different computers in your model class.  You only need the driver for your system.

The updated driver for your model of correction probably your problem.  The fact that it works better than before is, of course, a plus.

Have you noticed too there was an update of Mozilla on my laptop the day before that this problem then this could be the reason?

It is far from a complete problem description.
    Please explain in detail

    • what you were doing
    • That's happened

Using the current password which only had 6 characters

6 characters is a very weak password. Consider using a password manager to generate longer and more complex passwords and to remember these passwords.
