'Lost connectivity to storage device' on a SAS controller is installed locally?

Hello

I have two HP Proliant DL380 G6 installed with custom HP ESXi 5.5 U2. Both machines have an internal HP SmartArray P410i SAS controller on board, and I've added a second controller P410 that is attached to a secondary drive frame. In the first cage of readers, I have a disk array and in the second, I have a table over a disc other than whole for this test.

On both machines when I boot the system recognizes both controllers and diskarrays and data warehouses, but after awhile, it loses the connection to the datastore2 which is the table two caged. The individual disc also disappeared, but since there is no data store created on this one it is not reported.

I got the first started server once and after about 4 days, the second data store has disappeared. After I stopped the machine and started another but it was the same thing. About 4 to 4.5 days and the data store has failed. The only material I have swap between the two machines are the disc itself, everything is installed locally and therefore replaced when I swap server.

Before I installed ESXi I got the machine to start a Windows Server 2008 R2 with the HP drivers and I have not had any problems for about a week. Because if this, and because the only thing that is used in the two server are the discs I'm tempted to think it's not a hardware problem. (I added the only drive two caged to see if it is the matrix of discs that crashes or all in the cage.)

After the last restart, I created a few screenshot with all works very well and now I added a few photos more with my discs/data warehouses has failed. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, but maybe someone could give me a clue of which direction, I need to continue the investigation. Any help is appreciated. Thank you very much.

best regards, Markus

5.5 U2 contains HPSA.74, which does not work with P410i. Upgrade to HPSA.84 or downgrade to HPSA.60. + updated firmware for something more recent.

    Hi Chris:

Make sure that you have configured according to the PDF attached things EQL. There have been some changes of VI3.5 regarding the iSCSI configuration and initiator software was completely re-written in vSphere. For example, multiple paths is a little different, and they recommend you actually have a vmkernel port for each physical NIC and that substitute you the failover parameters. You are or ESX servers can be remove connections that the volume rational access EQL moving to different Eth interfaces on the controller (just a thought). This is explained in the document.

  • E3000 - frequent lost connectivity to wireless devices

Hello, recently installed E3000, very happy with it. But began to notice that my iPad and Galaxy phone sometimes seem to lose their Wi - Fi connection. Always, they indicate both the Wi - Fi to the E3000 is good, but any attempt to navigate or run of network applications just hangs. I don't notice the problem while I am with them, when I pick up after a few hours or a day. Turn off the devices and retry them cleared up the issue, but not the way it should be. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thank you, John

Thanks for the explanation as well as the detailed proposal.  I made the simplest changes first: renamed the SSID for the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands, and each of them to channels 6 and 48 pegged respectively.

Smartphones found 2.4 GHz links, but I was pleasantly surprised to see the iPad find the two bands (different SSID) and wait for me to choose who to connect through.  Nice to see.

I'll give it a few days and then look in the rest of the solution if I need, or to accept it as resolved.  Thank you!

  • "This USB mass storage device can transfer information faster if you connect it to a USB 3.0 port Superspeed ' when the device is already connected to a USB 3.0 port.

I just bought and installed a USB 3.0 card. It is the Startech PEXUSB3S2 PCIe card. I installed the card in a PCIe 2.0 X 1 slot. The manual says it's exactly the slot, that it supports.

The Manager device displays NEC Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller and NEC Electronics USB 3.0 Root Hub are installed and are working correctly. I have a Thermaltake BLACX5G 5 G USB 3.0 hard drive caddy. The transfer rate is only 35 MB/s using the HDTune benchmark. It is a USB 2.0 speed.

When the player is turned on, windows displays the message "this USB mass storage device can transfer information faster if you connect it to a Super speed USB 3.0 port»

For some reason, the system doesn't see the caddy to drive USB 3.0 as being plugged into a USB 3.0 port, when it actually is.

I remember having this same problem with Windows XP, when I bought a USB 2.0 card. The only thing that fixed it at the time was upgraded to XP SP2.

This should not be a problem because I know that Windows 7 pro 64-bit supports USB 3.0.

My motherboard is an ASUS P5QL-EM support an Intel Core 2 Quad and 4 GB of DDR2 memory. According to the manual owner the PCIe x 1 slots support architecture 1.0 and 2.0.

Edit: I just tested the external hard drive and expansion card USB 3.0 on my motherboard Gigabyte of friends running Windows XP. Everything worked perfectly, no problems at all.

Here, there is a problem with Windows 7 or the motherboard. Still unresolved, currently installs a floppy drive so I can update the firmware of my motherboard.

I checked the implementation of the card several times, removed and installed in another motherboard to test, then removed and reinstalled again in my motherboard ASUS check several times for a fit course.  It still does not work. I have just completed update the firmware of the motherboard with the latest version, and I also did a new install of Windows 7, install the drivers USB 3.0 immediately after installing Windows over. None of this solves the problem.

I'm running out of ideas on how to fix this without doing something drastic as a replacement for my motherboard. I don't want the speed of USB 3.0, but I don't think I'm ready for an another two or three hundred dollars to get it.

I've been all over the ' net trying to find a solution and read tons about USB USB 3.0 specifically and in general. I can find no reason why the drivers would install and report that they are working correctly, but fail to connect to 3.0 speeds. I think that this would generate a certain type of error instead of such a strange symptom.

    EDIT:

Here go us. I knew that is was a bad idea to buy one main (ASUS P5QL-EM) card that had to be overclocked to 1066 MHz for DRAM memory. I did all this work, and every time I reset my BIOS or updated it would always be the frequency DRAM back to where it should be (1066). After a reset of the computer was the starter and I just let it start instead of setting the DRAM frequency and, suddenly, USB 3.0 card worked perfectly. I confirmed this by setting the frequency to 1066 and looking at the USB 3.0 card fail again. I guess it must have something to do with the clock being sent to the PCIe bus.

In any case, the USB 3.0 card works perfectly and gives me a transfer rate HD Tune to 99 MB/s on a drive from WD SATA 7200 RPM and 86.1 Mbps on a Samsung drive hard 5400 RPM / MIN 3,5 "SATA. These are the same reference points I get when these drives are connected to my internal SATA connectors. I'd say USB 3.o works perfectly now and maxing out the hard drives performance.

    Thanks for any help.

  • Transcend storage device when connected gives error "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) »

Original title: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) ».

Hi, I have a storage device 'Transcend', but when I connect it it gives me "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) »

. in the last ididnt have had problems with this unit. what I can do.

    Shirly

    Hello

    1. What is the brand and model of the device of Transcend storage?

    2. other USB devices work on your computer?

Error code 43 indicates that one of the motors controlling the unit notified the operating system that the device failed in some way.

    Method 1:

    Step 1:

I suggest you try plug the storage device Transcend to another computer and check if it works.

    Step 2:

Also, try to connect the Transcend storage device on another USB port and check if it's work (which you know are working perfectly).

    Method 2:

You can run the diagnostic Fixit tool. Check out the following link.

Hardware devices do not work or are not detected in Windows http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/hardware_device_problems/

    Method 3:

You can check after uninstalling and reinstalling the USB controller. Follow the steps.

    (a) click Start and then click Control Panel.

    (b) click System and Maintenance, click System, and then click Device Manager.

Note: If Control Panel is in Classic view, double-click System and then click on Device Manager.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.

    (c) in Device Manager, double-click to expand the "USB Bus controllers", right click on the controller host, click "Uninstall" and click "OK".

Check that if at all, there is an exclamation point on the pilot, it suggests problems with the installed driver.

    (d) repeat step 2 to uninstall all items under 'USB Bus controllers'.

Then, restart your computer and Windows 7 will automatically reinstall all USB controllers.
