Low Ram

I have a desktop HP 2003 Pavilion404X with Windows XP, 512 MB RAM, 2.80 GHz, 69 GB HD.  What are the recommendations, upgrade or replacement?  Tracks of slow systems.  Have Norton 360. Looks like a program running in background frequently.

Hello:

I have conflicting information about the maximum memory you can install in the PC. The motherboard says you have 4 slots that can each accommodate 512 MB of memory PC 2700. Product specifications state maximum memory is only 1 GB 2 x 512 MB.

Good for a small amount of money, you can install 1 slide memory of 512 MB and double your memory. This will help.

Barrette memory of 512 MB you need:

I ditch Norton 360 and install the free microsoft security essentials program. It uses far less resources than Norton does.

If you decide to take my advice, you must download the Norton Uninstall tool. You cannot just uninstall Norton in your Add/Remove Programs menu.

Uninstall Norton before installng MSE.

I also recommend that you run Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter tools in your system tools folder.

Laptop is Presario CQ60 I use basic Vista and IE8 Norton scan says low RAM 1024 mb, while the properties of the computer say 2 GB RAM.   Should I do something?

Go to start / computer / system properties and confirm that it says you have 2 GB of RAM installed.  If she says only 1 GB, then one of the chips is probably bad loose or defective.  First try reinstalling to see if that solves the problem.  If this isn't the case, then you will need to replace it because it is not recognized and is probably defective.

Other that, I recommend that you replace Norton with Microsoft Security Essentials.  Remove Norton using the Norton removal tool:http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/Norton-Removal-Tool.shtml.  Download MSE to:http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Microsoft-Security-Essentials-Download-131683.html and install it instead.  You will have less problems, improved performance, increased reliability, and a better overall product (and it's FREE).  It's your decision, but I've seen Norton cause a lot of problems (and different types of problems) and I saw him miss some significant malware which ended to infect the computer.  If you want to stay with Norton and system comfirms your RAM, then contact Norton technical support for help on their product which reports inaccurate information - we cannot help you fix their program.

    I hope this helps.

  • 2011 15 "Macbook pro more low ram slot machine does not work. 3 beeps every time I start up my Mac.

    Hey guys,.

Then Ive met this weird problem with my mac. While I was using the Mac at work for like 4 hours without interruption and then when it was time to go home, I just put the screen down and put the Mac to sleep. When I opened the Mac at home, he started with 3 beeps and it wouldn't start.

After having panic for like half an hour, so I decided to take google on this issue. I found many queries, but nothing like mine. So I opened the back panel of the Macbook, deleted the two Rams and re-sitting (like one of the posts on google said to do) twice but it still did not work. I took off the piston down and tried to turn on a single cylinder high and it worked.

A bit of history, Apple had this quality control program where all 2011 Macbook pros affected by a defective video card can have their logic boards changed for free by taking it to apple. My macbook was one of them and apple genius guys changed the logic board. Long and behold, after six months the lower slot of Bank ram has stopped working. My question is, can I use the Apple since its only six months, and if I order a new Board of the logic on their part, what are the chances that this will not happen?

Any past experiences you guys could share to help me would be greatly appreciated.

  • Low RAM in Satellite L500-1XL

When I ran a diagnostic on my laptop (Satellite L500-1XL) report he said that my RAM was low and to upgrade for better performance - it was very slow to start lately.
However, I discovered that my model is no longer supported and I don't know what to do.
    Any suggestions?

Keep in mind, I'm a total novice when it comes to computers so nothing too technical if you please!
    Thank you.

With more RAM your laptop will have better performance.
According to specification for laptop, your laptop comes with 2 GB of RAM, but it can be upgraded up to 4 GB.

So buy second 2 GB of RAM and upgrade your laptop.

  • After "Missing Boot Manager" with low RAM problems

I woke up randomly a few weeks ago my computer, sitting on a black screen with the error ' BOOT MNGR MISSING, IMPOSSIBLE TO BOOT. PRESS CTRL + ALT + DEL TO THE RETSTART'.

I have no idea what caused it, it seemed completely random. After some googling I found that I just need to insert my windows disk and restore, which I did and was able to start properly.

However, since then, if I have more than ~ 10 tabs open in Chrome and XBMC running that I often an error popping up telling me that my computer is low on memory and that I should close Chrome or XBMC (it varies). This also seems to be correlated with the tabs in Chrome crashing. I seem to have a limit of about 10 tabs, after that each new tab page crashes.

I have 4 GB of memory of decent quality and before that I never had memory problems of low.

Below is a screenshot of my resource manager. It shows when I open I use about 70% of my RAM.

"Windows correctly diagnosed a low virtual memory condition. The following programs use the most virtual memory: chrome.exe (4784) consumed bytes 351731712, chrome.exe (4252) consumed bytes 330465280 and XBMC.exe (1392) consumed bytes 237559808. »

If you are using 32 bit Win7 that about 75% of you RAM is accessible - 3.25 GB
all 32-bit operating systems can access.
If you have 64-bit Win7 is probably not so much a matter of not being able to, just that it is not required by, or used by, the software you use, but the software (Chrome) do we file Page, and RAM.

  • How can I fix low ram memory?

    OS X El Capitan

    10.11.3 version

MacBook Air (13 inch, early 2015)

Processor: Intel Core i5 to 1.6 GHz

    Memory: 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Graphics card: Intel HD Graphics 6000 1536 MB

Storage: 49,68 free GB of 120,11 GB

My computer is incredibly slow most of the time. Is not an expert in this field, I google and discovered CleanMyMac 3 and downloaded because it had a good rating on CNET. While it has deleted unnecessary files, I can't say that he did a lot with the memory and the slowness of my computer. I have lots of storage. I do not use anything like Photoshop. Usually the most I do is listen to Spotify or Amazon Music (he said would not be a problem one Apple when I bought it). When my computer is running slow, I leave Spotify (not just close the window) or Amazon nearby. Often I need to open Microsoft Word with Safari while working on a ballot in permanent Contact. I tend to keep multiple tabs open in safari so I shut them down when I noticed. Often quit all applications non-Safari, including Spotify and closing all but one or two tabs in Safari still do not help. I understand that Apple solders the 4 GB to the motherboard (or whatever that it's called... I'm no expert), making it impossible to upgrade memory. What choices do I have? Help, please!

Since you can't upgrade RAM, you should minimize the use of all that is not essential so that you do not have too many concurrent processes. This is what causes the computer to get finally subdued. In addition, get rid of my own Mac. You don't need, and it's a waste of money and memory. Don't forget to use the uninstaller if she a. Removing the application removes all other files that it installs.

  • What is the original reason for the iPad mini is not able to upgrade to iOS 10? Because of the low RAM? CPU?

I wish that the key to why the 10 iOS is not taken in charge on the mini original iPad. I was very excited when it was announced, because it is at the time displayed on the supported list. A while later it was removed and I am really disappointed! I love apple products, but I can't spend all my money on them. I would like to have all the answers about this.

PS - If it's the cpu that's the problem, Apple would be able to insert a command overclocking in order to boost performance a bit?  Just a thought...

We cannot discuss why it is not supported - only Apple know that & they usually don't tell. See notes on speculation about the terms of use (section 2 1.2).

    Apple Support communities use agreement

Consider that Apple will have tested and have found it did not work well, or maybe they simply decided that the aircraft was too old. You might be better to stay with your current iOS.

Apple offers no tools to overclock iOS devices or change the CPU etc - you get what you buy and it stays that way. Only the software is expandable.

  • Your system RAM is low Message

Can someone help me. How can I find what is using my RAM so that it is low (because it does not). I'm on Windows Vista Home Premium o/s, 32-bit version. I have 2 GB of RAM and the computer had no mods. 250 GB HD

I just made a recovery in the factory, for this reason (and other reasons), which are all cleared and the computer is better than it was. But still the message on the Low RAM

The only program that I have reinstalled is norton security. That is the program that gives me the message. When I run the Diagnostics option. But the report does not say what is using the RAM, only he is low? I thought that goes back to the factory would clearly this, because they come not new with low RAM?

The diagnosis of Norton above were made with the computer started upward, but don't use it. I had opened only norton to run the check to see if it has been fixed by recovery.

Thank you for your time and any assistance that you can provide.

    SID

    Hi Erico,

I appreciate really all the info you provided, and I will use it to check and adjust if necessary.

I think that some articles, I have not explained clear enough? Sorry if this is the case.

Being a novice, I have to be sure of what I understand before making any changes.

1 / is the MSG original post (subject of RAM memory) No Windows, his diagnosis of Norton tool that comes with the security program. It was there before I made the recovery and always gave the same MSG after recovery. It was one of the reasons to make a recovery, to get the RAM to factory that is. not low. I could never understand why norton said he was weak, even after a recovery? Thought norton would come back with the report saying that RAM was good after the restart (not the case?). I was wondering if anyone could shed some light for example. Maybe norton is not exact, trust your windows you just say.

2 / the recovery Image was a thought later, thinking I can't made a recovery in the factory, because I didn't drive till much later after the use of the computer. I thought that maybe I actually recorded a picture with my consumption of the drive? I also did not know when the image for recovery, was recorded in the partition on drive D (the drive used for recovery). If this was recorded at the same time as my drive the meaning also with my consumption?

Or if in fact the recovery image was already on the D drive in its original form, regardless of what I do or have done.

    What is the pagefile?

Once again very grateful for your time. I learn from your efforts and using the information that you provide.

    A big thank you

    Hello

I Don t understand what you mean with 'HIGH' or 'LOW' RAM density. To upgrade your machine you need only SDRAM PC133 and that's all you need.

  • Help! Can you help me solve a slow computer? Add RAM?

I know I asked something about this before, but it has not resolved. Let me give some details of my PC a few months ago I put in my profile on this site:

MotionLE1600tablet, Windows XP has been installed own Sept 2010, Office 2003, IE 8, update drivers & programs, Security Essentials, SyncBack SE sync my Docs with my DELL 915 - desktop PC, on my shelf programs include: Seagate Mgr BU, cCleaner, Defraggler, AdvdX Video Converter, routed Brother 7820 w / Paperport & 2700 color laser printer, the active Agent for Outlook, MS ActiveSync, Format Factory Bluetooth, REVO Uninstaller, Paint Shop Pro, Adobe Acrobat, Acronis True Image home, Advanced X Video Convert,
From AoA Audio, ISO, Time Warner cable high speed internet, MalwareBytes AM

So my question: this Tablet PC seems to sometimes just stop responding while using IE and trying to enter text or something else. When that happens, I can't even start with a Ctrl-Alt-Del Task Manager. It seems to ignore this and cannot do anything. I can't click on start or anything like that. So, I just finally quit and force a reboot in now the switch for a few seconds.

Other signs of a problem are that sometimes this PC will take up VERY much time to start, but sometimes it starts very well.

I tried to note or to explore if there could be some activity going on in the background that uses up all of the RAM (or anything... I don't know that a lot of this stuff) and I don't think that's the problem. But I'm ready to explore that if anyone could tell me how the Explorer!

I have a few processes requiring low RAM they are running in the background for backup and changes to my Docs and they are saved on my hard drive MAXTOR One Touch USB. I also have a program called SyncBack SE that synchronizes the my Docs about this Tablet PC with those on my Dell 9150 desktop PC. All this is at home, and my tablet is never off the hook or taken anywhere. I probably just another desktop PC, since this is how it is used. I have always just sitting it here on its charging base with an external monitor, keyboard, mouse, Iomega CD/DVD-RW and MAXTOR backup hard drive hooked up to it. And it is connected to my range of colour laser printers and also my all-in-one scanner/printer/fax/copier running Paperport for scanning.

In addition, I have add the maximum RAM in this PC recently to try to help him with this problem, but it did not disappear. He of course helped it work better. I had max RAM to www.memoryx.net/mocolectapcm.html and if you look at this page, you will see that I now have 1.5 GB which was not recognized automatically, as I thought it would be, so someone on this site taught me to solve this problem.

So, my thought was that there is an intermittent failure was. But of course, I don't have any extra of $ just to send my tablet PC manufacturer that I bought NEW a few years ago. Mine is a LE1600 and now they show their new LE1700 to http://www.motioncomputing.com/support/support_le1700.asp. I had a serious accident a few years ago on someone's motorcycle MX and became disabled for life, and the franchise of real estate brokerage of Exit Realty I had built just after buying a franchise had to be closed. That put me off all hope for an income and he gave me $0 back on the $300,000 + that I had spent my mortgage to help put in place. And all this after I study my butt off and passed the test to win my own our Department of California real estate broker's license...         BOO HOO

    Hi Jeff has Davis,

    Method 1

Check if the problem persists in mode safe mode with networking mode and also check the event log for errors related to the issuance and publication.

    Method 2

If the problem does not persist in mode safe mode with networking mode, then it is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See section to learn more about how to clean boot.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.
