M9400T: 64-bit?

I would like to know if my computer will support or can install 64-bit windows 7?

My hd is out and I have installed a new wd blue 1 TB hd.  My Vista recovery disc I made in ' 09 seem to install 3 ok-all drives run in the dvd player - but the computer does not start.  He keeps trying, but I get a message that windows could not load.  Hardware diagnosis says that everything is ok.

After research, I think that my best solution is to buy a new disc of windows 7 and start over.  I see they are sold in versions 32 and 64-bit.  I am told that the 64 version would be better, IF my system will support it.

I have a HP Pavilion desk top #M9400T.  Product #FK484AAR #ABA, Windows Vista, map mother IPIBL-LB, pn 492774-001, Rev. A02.  CT-PAKKL IC0ZWK08J is also printed on the card.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

The processor is 64-bit.

  • Install Windows 7 on HP Pavilion, m9400t, 64-bit

I tried in vain for three weeks install Windows 7 Ultimate from Vista Home Premium on my HP Pavilion, the m9400t, the 64-bit office after my hard drive crashed.  I tried clean installs and upgrades on a new 1 to Seagate Barracuda.  I ran the Windows Upgrade Advisor, and he says I can go to the ultimate.  I checked the HP site on the upgrade to Win7 and updated my bios.

In the case of a clean install, at the end of the installation when it finishes a message quickly (so fast that I had to use a film camera to capture) appears stating "Windows Setup could not configure windows to run on this hardware machines."   After this message, the machine turns off.  Note that only original parts are attached to the machine (no printer, additional USB devices, haven't added any PCI cards).

In the case of the upgrade, I get a message "this version of windows could not be installed" and Vista is restored.

I called Microsoft support and they recommended I try a different installation disk and that did not help. They also accompanied me through a reformatting the drive and that did not help.   I also switched the hard drive and that did not help.

    I am at a loss.

Make sure that the Windows license key corresponds with the Windows 7 product that you plan to install.

HP posted 5.32 BIOS update today, but I get an error when you try to install it on my m9400t.  I get two boxes of error as follows:

    "install.exe" AFUWIN BENS.32/b/p/c/q

Cannot perform the specified command line

I restarted in safe mode, rebooted Windows with everything and even clicked on run as s Adminitrator, even if I was in the administrator account.

I also downloaded the file three times and even tried to run out of the office with him remains off including sidebar.

Ideas appreciated as support HP seems puzzled.

    Thank you;

Good news, the new link for a Meg 1.67 file worked fine on Vista 64 bit with cable Tuner equipped system.   I don't have to reboot twice for all four cores to be noticed, as the initial start has only shown a CPU two core.

I wish everyone a happy holiday and without surprises of HP more!

  • New graphics drivers for M9400t?

I bought a HP Pavilion Elite M9400t desktop reccently and noticed that some of my programs (3D) said that my drivers have been exceeded. Its a 9600GS a card of the 9600GSO OEM I think. On Driveres HP site, I couldn't find the original nvidia unified driver. Are there really any driver updates or anything?

  • How to fix Windows 7 64 bit freezes on the sleep/hibernate?

My computer freezes constantly just before the sleep/hibernate or just after waking you. I had this experience with SP1 and without. Before you remove SP1, the HD will start to charge about 17 minutes to leave inactive. Almost exact to the minute, it will crash after 25 minutes to leave inactive.

After removing the SP1, the system will NOT crash before going to sleep. However, it will crash as soon as you wake up. Below is summary dumps of two representative falls.

    As a backdrop, the system:

    ATI Radeon HD 3650

    OEM: Vista Ultimate x 64
    Current (academic): Win7 Professional 64-bit
    H/w bought November 2008
    Operating system: any new installation

    Programs:
In addition to Windows, I just installed Office, Chrome, Firefox. I have installed but removed ScanSnap of UBWALL scanning software, Windows Live, Windows Security Essentials

    Devices:
    No devices are attached

    Tests already performed:
    Memory tests (memtest86, memtest86 +, WIndows)-no error
    Chkdsk/f/r (twice) - no error

I'd appreciate any help. Thank you.

Updated - I deleted Windows 7 Pro and re-installed Vista Ultimate OEM. It works perfectly. This excludes any possibility of h/w issue.

I think to re - install Win 7 Pro and see if the error. Any ideas/suggestions?

Your PC has shipped HD ALC888S. I scoured the Web and found someone who has exactly the same problem with audio built-in. Solved by updating the embedded HD codec. Update driver http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/ .

Realtek posted the new driver 2.1 01/12/08 so it can do the trick.

  • Safari in 32-bit mode in El Capitan

    Hello

For school, my children need access to the Web site that runs 'Shockwave '. They are not currently open.

Navigation online suggestions say run it in 32-bit mode, with instructions on how to do it.

However, when I access the app Safari (version 10), and "Get Info", the check box option is not there to run in 32-bit.

Does this mean that I can't go back now?

    Thank you.

    Steve.

With Safari 10, you cannot return to running in 32-bit mode, if that's what you're asking.

  • Can I boot in 32-bit mode?

    MacBook Pro 17 "(8,3) i7 2.2 GHz Quad Core 16 GB DDR3 750 GB HD OS X Mavericks 10.9.5"

I am trying to connect to a USB 1.1 device which has incompatible firmware with 64-bit OS X.  The camera manufacturer's instructions for a workaround that allows access to the device to update the firmware, providing support OS X 64-bit.  Of workaround requires me to start in 32-bit mode by pressing the '3' key and '2' during the start cycle.  They show how to check and see if your Mac is in 32-bit mode, but their example does not match my window, and my machine doesn't seem to be in 32-bit mode.   I found several references to this '3' start + "2" keyboard shortcut, but nothing official from Apple.

Please do not recommend upgrading the OS.  The software I'm using is not supported by the manufacturer past Mavericks.

Thanks in advance for any help.

If the software is compatible with the Mavericks like you state that the developer shows you should be able to use the device in 32 or 64 bit.

When using any modification of the startup of the suggestion of anyone on the internet always proceed with caution, and damages are exclusively your own:

    Method 1: Start key combination
This will bypass the default mode and use a different mode for single session.

    • If your Mac uses the 32-bit mode by default, press 6 and 4 at startup
    • If your Mac uses 64-bit by default, press 3 and 2 at startup

Note: Your Mac will return to the default mode the next time it starts. Method 2: Setting disk
This will change the default mode used by your Mac when starting. For 32-bit mode, use the following command in a Terminal:

    • sudo setkernelbootarchitecture systemsetup - i386

For the 64-bit mode, use the following command in a Terminal:

    • sudo systemsetup setkernelbootarchitecture - x86_64
