Machine default permission settings grant Local Activation permission for the application server COM with the CLSID

What simple and secure as possible first steps I can take to set the root cause, or identify the source application?

I almost uninstalled nvidia Control Panel, but afraid that can make my Gforce 6100 graphics card give up the Device Manager tree.

If nvidia is originally my logs error 10016 and all other related subsequent errors so I want it gone so BAD!

I have just completed a fresh reload of Vista Home Premium, all updates since the liberation, including Service Packs 1 and 2.

And to make things even more painful having only IBM Lenovo Rescue and begins to work with restore CD.

After getting all the back far, I uninstalled all the IBM Lenovo system update additional rescue and environment of recovery, and all the other counter productive fluff Big Blue thought that the rest of us could not live without. I'm usually not so cynical, but have good reason to be now.

Thanks to all contributors, I consider my self pretty much a Nooby... What should I do?

Hi Bluewaves4u2,

I suggest you to see the steps in the links.

Anyone has an idea why I get this error?
    Walt

Same thing here. Grayed. Windows 8.1 seems to fill the observer of events with many more errors than previous versions.

Edit: OK, discovered why it is grayed out. There are 2 reg key, you must set permissions before going to the Configuration of DCOM in component services. The CLSID key and the APPID key.

From another forum, although it applies to a different application, same principle:

    1. open Regedit.
    2. go in HKEY_Classes_Root\CLSID\ * CLSID *.
Note: * CLSID * stand for the ID that appears in your event viewer error. In your case, it is {C2F03A33-21F5-47FA-B4BB-156362A2F239}.
    3. right-click on it and select authorization.
    4. click on Advance and change owner to administrator. Also click on the box that will appear below the threshold of owner.
    5. apply a full control.
    6. close the tab, then go to HKEY_LocalMachine\Software\Classes\AppID\ * APPID *.
Note: * AppID * is the ID that appears in your event viewer. In your case, it is {316CDED5-E4AE-4B15-9113-7055D84DCC97}.
7 right-click on it and select authorization.
    8. click on Advance and change the owner to administrators.
    9. click on the box that will appear below the line owner.
    10. click on apply and grant full control to the administrators.
    11. close all tabs and navigate to the administration tool.
    12. open component services.
    13. click on the computer, click my computer, and then click DCOM.
14 find the corresponding service that appears on the display of the error.
    15. right-click on it, and then click Properties.
    16. click the Security tab, and then click Add a user. Add the SYSTEM and then apply.
    17. check enable local.

Then use the relevant keys here and the DCOM Config utility should give you access greyed onareas:

  • How can I change the privileges of sharing and permission for certain applications and software?

I need to change the permissions and settings for sharing applications. I find the custom preferences not defined by myself as well as many of those who are don't give me "read and write" access for them. When I go to "get info" to change these settings, it says I don't have permission to make changes. How can I solve this problem and make sure that it doesn't happen?

Nothing should write an application, so I don't know why there is a problem.

Protection of the integrity of system (SIP) in El Capitan prevents you from changing all the apps.

For preinstalled applications, the system must have a reading and writing and group / everyone should be read-only.

They will also have an access control entry, "group: everyone denies delete" which will appear as usual in the window read the information.

Install apps via drag and drop, you will probably have as owner with Read and Write, but the other group is going to be read-only.

  • option to Editor local group policy for the administrator account on Windows 7

I have an administrator account I want to restrict in some respects. I know that this can be done via local group policy. So, I need:

    1. Installation of new programs require an admin password.

    2. Some programs (that I choose) run without admin password.

    3. Held together under one account, without comments, accounts of users or lower privileges.

No idea how to do it?

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

According to the description of the problem you had to restrict access to some programs using the local Group Policy Editor. The Local Group Policy Editor is a snap Microsoft Management Console (MMC) that provides a single user interface through which all the settings of local Group Policy objects can be managed.

I suggest you to return the article mentioned below and see if it helps you to solve the problem.

Windows 8 on ASUS laptop brand new.

    TP Link WR841N router

When I first set up connection machine windows 8 wouldn't connect.  Repeated the network key is incorrect.  When I rebooted the router the connected computer.

However, after an interval of an indeterminate (but more than a few minutes) if I restart the computer it will not connect say the network settings do not match.

I can forget the network, re key, turn wireless market and stop etc etc.  Will not re connect.  If I reboot the router it connects right away.

If I disable wireless security the question goes too far.

I read the other questions on that.  None of the allowed answers.  Basically it connects, then a few hours later if you restart the machine ITO is unable to reconnect.  The problem is with the security key.

  • Creation of VM in local ESXi datastore for the backup of the data SAN with VMXNet 3 VM store

    Hi all

I would like to know how you have configured your server to backup as a virtual machine?

My idea is to use the local data VMFS3 store on my 3 x ESXi servers,

by installing the application of part 3 (such as Veeam Backup 5 or Backup Exec 2010) in Windows Server 2008 R2 VM

equipped with size of very big hard drive (OS 8 GB + 1 TB VMDK data partition) on each of the local data store to save the computer virtual within the SAN.

    What I have:

VMware vSphere essential 4 - ESXi 4.0 (not hot add)

    Dell Power Edge 2950 with 2.5 to multiple VMFS3 extended on top - RAID 5 (6 x 500 GB SATAII 7200 RPM)

Reference Dell MD3000i iSCSI SAN on Gigabit Ethernet

The configuration of the Windows Server 2008 R2 VM:

    2 x CPU @ 2.33 GHz

    4 GB OF RAM

VMXNet3 NIC-> for better connectivity to the backup between the local data store ESXi and iSCSI-SAN data store.

Here's the reason why I'm doing this is that:

    1. I don't have the additional NETWORK card to connect my physical server in iSCSI SAN THAT switch, so I can't use - SAN backup mode.

    2. I only use the available lowest VMware license that can't stand the Hot-add the device function.

Would it be an optimal configuration?

Any kind of help and suggestion to implement backup VM VM would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Kind regards

    AWT

From what I see of you think to do, you will get no advantage of using the VMXNET3 NIC, compared using an e1000 NIC... All your traffic will be on the connections of 1 GB, because you're leaving SAN local disk... If you had the VM on the SAN, or the same storage, the VMXNET3 NIC were going at speeds of internal circulation (could get you better than 1 GB, but I advise to test before committing)...

In addition, you will not be able to use a volume of OS 8 GB in Server 2008 R2... Bare minium is 32 GB (use plus 40 GB, which is that vSphere will use when you tell him to 2008 R2 for the operating system of the virtual machine)...

  • ESX host with local storage recommended for the host partition table?

    Hi all

I know that the best practical partition table should look like this:

    Mount Point

    Partition

    Size

    Description

    / dev/sda (primary)

    / Boot

    ext3

    250 MB

Change of extra space for upgrades

    N/A

    SWAP

    1 600 MB

Change the maximum size of Exchange service console

    /

    ext3

    5120 MB

Change of extra space in the root

    / dev/sda (Extended)

    / var

    ext3

    4096 MB

Create partition to avoid an overflow of root with log files

    / tmp

    ext3

    1024 MB

Create partition to avoid an overflow of root with temporary files

    / opt

    ext3

    2048 MB

Create partition to avoid overfilling root with the log files of VMware HA

    / Home

    ext3

    1024 MB

Create partition to avoid an overflow of root with agent / user files

    vmkcore

    100 MB

    Pre-configured

However with a system with local storage would you set it up the same way, and whatever it is must be amended to change to get ESX to write log files to the different partitions?  I would like to configure it for future expansion for when the enterprise package is configured.

Yes, I would set up the same way with an ESX with local storage server and nothing needs to be changed for the vmekernel right at the partition/var - unless of course you want to write to a log server that you need to change a configuration file to point to the server logs.  If you talk to the ESX Enterprise license you willnot have to change partiition table-

Also on something else if you don't have a SAN/NAS storage you will also need to create a VMFS partition on the local data store to host your virtual machines

  • Several activations phone for the upgrade (reinstall) Win7 32 bit to Win7 64-bit, then run the patch to get Win10 64-bit? Adviser says no need!

[Subject title changed to take account of the answers and expert advice, the original title was 1 or 2 time phone activation? Failure of the mobo, replace & reinstall Win 7 32 bit (1st time), reinstall as Win 7 64 bit (2nd time?)]

My mother Office card failed recently, it is installed with retail 32 bit Windows 7 Home Premium and family (3 users) Office 2010 package. Two Microsoft products have product keys.

My understanding is change of motherboard: computer transfer. While the retail Windows 7 allow to reactivate by phone, but to reactivate Office 2010 will depends on a license agreement (which I haven't checked: 2 installations on computers, died 1 single installation still work left.) Will need to contact the family member to read).

My 2nd understanding is I can try to connect my hard drive to a new motherboard and let it go through for direct start startup repair. Is better because I don't have data because of the sudden failure of the motherboard (for example bookmarks for the browser explore, can only log into the existing facility backup).

But being upgraded to the new motherboard (and the new quad core processors), certainly I wouldn't keep running 32-bit system in the future.

I would reinstall under Windows 7 64-bit later, then a free update to Windows 10 64-bit. (Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor reported that I can not direct implementation installation upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit Windows 7. Must pass through the new Setup again.)

Whereas for the 32-bit Office 2010... I could continue to use it as it is if it is allowed to reactivate on new motherboard.

Now, my question: to reactivate Windows 7 32-bit (and 32-bit Office 2010) with phone, later when I finished the backup of the data and do clean install Windows 7 64 bit (and 32-bit Office 2010), do I need to do to activate by phone, again? Or simply key in the original product key from the license of Windows 7 and Office 2010 already recognized the new motherboard?

If I need do activate phone 2 times, I might as well direct own to install 64 bit Windows 7 now (despite the loss of some data).

There is nothing worse you could install on your system than McAfee.  If you have it installed I would like to reinstall Windows it's a Goner.  The uninstall tool likely will not solve everything.

I'm not "understand why, you need to install Windows 7 64-bit just to make a less than 10 Windows upgrade when you have a much better install directly Clean install Windows 10 Upgrade , then activate directly with the product key Windows 7."

As to reactivate Office, wait until you get 10 windows up and then make the activation of the phone to help build just to install an Office (or 3 If you have a 3-pack of office, also).   Otherwise, you will have to redo the reinstallation of upgrade.
