MagSafe 2 overheating

I have a MacBook Pro 15 "retina, mid-2014, 2.5 GHz Core i7, 1600 16 GB DDR3, GT750M2048, OS X 10.11.6."

After a few hours of work, the magsafe 2 overheating.

The temperature exceeds 50 ° C.

Is this normal?

The food inside the brick will warm up whenever it provides power to the computer.  More power, more he gets.  It's normal.  Simply place it somewhere that allows airflow around it.  (BTW, all power supplies to external brick for all computers will then warm up to provide electricity.  Some are just more large surface to dissipate it.)

  • Our time capsule will blink a light amber and utilities said that it is overheating. What is the problem?

We had a problem with our (less than 2 years) time capsule - the light yellow flashing, the fan runs often and looking in "utility" on my mac, it says that it is overheating. What is the cause of this?

The Time Capsule fan runs constantly, so you shouldn't be aware of the fan running on the time Capsule 'often'.

If you receive a message that the Time Capsule is overheating, there is probably a problem with the internal power supply on the Time Capsule.

If you have an Apple Store near you, it would be wise to take the time Capsule to let the experts check the issue and discuss your options.

  • ioS battery draining / overheating

I use a 6 16 GB iPhone on which I downloaded iOS 10 a few days ago. I hate this update! The drops of the battery to 100% less than 30 percent in less than two hours of use; and that, no phone call - just by using whatsapp and twitter. I also had days where the battery shows 23% and now after the phone dies. When you connect it to the power supply, it appears directly at 21%.

In addition, to use the phone for about 30 to 40 minutes in a row, it heats considerably, something that was not the case before.

If there is a way to solve this problem, please tell. Or Apple must come with a fix emergency. It's a pain to have to keep the phone attached to a power Bank.

    Hello

Unfortunately, this is a very common on more problem iOS 10 users.

  • Photoanalysisd process overheating my Mac on macOS Sierra

    Hello world!!

I just upgraded to macOS SIerra in the Air of my Mac and I noticed that a process called 'photoanalysisd' is currentlu taken almost 90% of my CPU and overheat my Mac

Anyone know what do do this process and whether he can be killed? (tried once but it came to the top once again)

    Thank you

    Ariel

    Hi Ariel

It's Photos of indexing and analyze all your photos. It is indeed the processor intensive and depending on what size your Photos library is, could take a long time. Up to 2 days in extreme cases.

If your computer is very hot, make sure you provide air circulation all around the case. Test lift on a wire rack as as you might have in your kitchen for the cooling of cookies or use a rack of the oven.

If it still shows signs of overheating, you can place a fan to blow air top, or even place a cold ice pack or something cold under the computer.

    Hope this helps, Greg

  • MacBook Pros overheating because Mac OS Sierra

My end of 2014 MacBook pro 13-inch has been overheating since the installation of Sierra. 10 minutes, it's warmer than normal, 20 minutes, too hot to get on your knees. Open and run a partition with el capitan don't cause overheating after about an hour. Does anyone else have this problem? Fan control SMC said it is running at 137 degrees fahrenheit.

The problem is related to the old system that you updated, no Sierra. A possible problem is if SMC fan control is compatible with the Sierra.

My new iPhone 7 overheating once he starts to play the video, download files, or play music. It heats up even when I take pictures.

I found the following article, given a fix. I zero the phone and began as a facility clean, new phone and still warm.

Here is a quote from the article:

How to fix Apple 7 iPhone and iPhone 7 more overheating problem with these solutions:

    • There is a good chance that a third-party application is the cause of overheating Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone Plus 7. The best way to check this problem is by pressing the power and the Home button until the screen becomes black and then remove your finger from home while continuing to press power. Once you see the Apple logo - press and hold the volume up button until the springboard of the charges. If the appliance is in Mode safe tweaks will disappear under the settings menu. If the problem has disappeared, then you know that it is caused by a third-party application. You can try to uninstall one by one in order to track it down or go for a factory reset.
    • Before you Apple 7 factory reset and iPhone iPhone 7, it is recommended to wipe the partition cache of the smartphone (Learn how to clear Apple 7 iPhone and iPhone 7 more hiding). Select settings > general > storage & use of iCloud. Select then on manage storage. After that, tap an item of data and Documents. Then drag unwanted items on the left and press DELETE. Finally press Edit > delete to delete the application data.

Did anyone else have this problem, and you have a fix or solution?

    Thank you

I'm having the same problem. I noticed that my iPhone 7 became REALLY hot when I recover all my data to iCloud. I tried a restore, then even traded my iPhone for a new and the heat problem is still there. I think it's iOS or app related.

  • No power MacBook Pro MagSafe dim

    No power, Sun magsafe MacBook

    Hello

Then 2 days ago, I bought a used MacBook Pro, model 13 "2012.

I had planned to replace the hard disk drive for an SSD, wich I went to. and... Since then, it won't power, at all. I put the old hard drive, has nothing that I could think of, still no power. When I plug my magsafe (I checked that it was working with another computer) the only thing I see is a really small green light on the connector.

    Could someone help?

    Thanks :)

The usual recourse is to perform a reset of the MSC. Please read reset the management system (SCM) controller on your Mac for the procedure. Follow all the steps, even if they seem inapplicable or trivial. Do not try to remove the battery from your Mac's battery is not removable.

  • I can't connect to my mac because the SHIFT key is down. Then he showed the top letter and can not connect... The mac is also overheating. I went to the apple store and they said that they cannot fix and need to send to the factory. Connection of same slo

I just used my mac. I bought it on January 2014.

A few months ago I couldn't connect to my mac more. There is nothing special on my mac to record.

He was showing the wrong password when I tried to connect to my mac. It is overheating sometimes without help.

So, I brought it to the apple store and they said that the shift key is down and therefore superior letter is all the time. and they could not help me open on the inside. Apple store guys suggested me to display somewhere or send it to the factory.

    My question is

    (1) what should I do

    (2) if I send to the factory or should go to the repair shop.

you guys have an idea what the problem with my mac?

I suggest you send to the factory, or if you have an apple authorized dealer / repair shop to fix the SHIFT key first, then a glance as to why the fan is still running hot.

Maybe something has damaged the keyboard (shift key) area and also the fan internal.

You can't have something special on the computer, but I'd always spend extra money to repair.

    The sooner, the better.

If you need take photos or documents off the power the computer have you tried to connect an external keyboard to type your password?

  • MagSafe adapter does not work after all the stuff that followed and merge card Ok?

My Megasafe duck-head adapter used with a Macbook pro has stopped working while my back was turned!

After trying all the controls and the actions described in the Apple support pages, it always dows not turn on or show any current to the small pins when checked with a multimeter.

It is the death of the adapter or can it receive some kind of CPR?

    Chris.

    Hello!

Could specify you which checks and actions you have done already?

Your MacBook came with both a cable to connect to the power supply and plug adapter. Could you try both to see if it works? You might just have a broken charger.

Please find instructions for that here: reset the management system (SCM) controller on your Mac - Apple Support

If the battery is good behaviour

    1. Stop the Mac.
    2. Plug the MagSafe or USB - C adapter to a power source and to your Mac.
    3. Use the built-in keyboard, press shift-control-Option on the left side of the keyboard, then press the power button at the same time.
    4. All the keys to unlock, then press the power button to turn on your Mac

    If the battery is removable

    1. Stop the Mac.
    2. Unplug the MagSafe from Mac power adapter.
    3. Remove the battery. (Learn about removing the battery in the MacBook and MacBook Pro computers).
    4. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
    5. Reconnect the battery and the MagSafe power adapter.
    6. Press the power button to turn on the Mac.

    Thanks for posting the results!

  • A Magsafe 85w power adapter would be detrimental to my MacBook Pro (13-inch, mid 2010)

    Hi all!

    I have a MacBook Pro (13-inch, mid 2010, 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo).

Well, after years of abuse, the thinner rope (which connects to the Macbook) began to tear. I tried to drag an above shrink wrap to fix and make it last a little longer, but now I find myself stirring the rope around so he can start loading.

in any case, I found a company after-market on Amazon called Supsun making (link below) and recently purchased a. He said that going to work with my Macbook, but I think not even check what power mine use and after he woke up, I found out mine originally a 60w.

Will this hurt Magsafe Supsun 85w power adapter my mid 2010 13-inch Macbook in anyway?

I thank you for all your comments!

I, personally, look at the price difference and ask myself I'd be sad if I saved money and things did not work well.

  • How can I stop my overheating iPad mini?

I just had to replace my 1-year-old mini iPad who died suddenly, shortly after the end of the warranty period.  I brought to 3 different places and nobody could make re-live or explain what happened outside because when they have plugged into the power supply, they said he seemed to have exceptionally hot quickly.  I have a new iPad mini and it seems to be getting warm very quickly.  How can I determine if it is a serious problem?  What can I do to avoid overheating?
