    Sirot,
It sounds as if there is something in the way of installation.  First of all, make sure that your system is free of malware\virus infections.  This thread has some great information on this topic: getting rid of malware.   If you do not find infections or even the question after removing them and then perform a clean boot , and then run updates.  Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

  • Windows XP crashes all streaming video

    original title: Windows XP crashes

I use Windows XP and it crashes everytime I try streaming of youtube videos. What causes this and how can I solve this problem? Thank you.

By crashing, do you mean you see a blue screen of death (BSOD)?

If so, then proceed as follows:

The next time your system crashes, provide more information on what you see.
Here's a BSOD example showing information you provide:
Send for the nose and the Red arrows (3 to 4 lines total).
Send all * line STOP message since there are clues in the 4 parameters.
If there is a name of the file listed in the STOP message, don't forget to include this information too.
Ignore the boring text unless it seems important to you.  We know what a BSOD looks like, we need to know what your BSOD looks like.

Now, we should start by getting more information about your system and take a look at the situation of your video driver, and see what you have now.

Maybe someday the dialog box 'ask a question' forums XP will ask these questions automatically when a new thread is started so I don't have to ask every time.  It might even be possible to solve a problem in a single response when enough information is provided.

Please provide additional information on your system:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

If the system works, what do you think might have changed since the last time it did not work properly?

Please provide additional information on your system:

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    Msinfo32

Click on OK and when the system info summary appears, click on Edition, select all, copy, and then paste the information here.

For information about video drivers, expand components, click view, click on edit, select all.
Copy and then paste the information here.

There will be some personal information (such as the user name and the name of the system), and anything that turns information private for you, simply delete the pasted information.

This will minimize back Q & A and eliminate guesswork.

While you wait, I could do this:

No matter what you use for protection against malware, perform the following analyses for malware, then correct any problems:

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:

    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

They can be uninstalled later if you wish.

The scans by operating clean, then to solve any problems.

    Windows XP service Pack 3

If you have SP3 installed, you also installed KB938828.

You can read here all the things that are included when you install SP3 (including this update), so you shouldn't have to install again.

If you get the DEP errors, I suspect a third party extension of the Explorer.  If someone offers you make an exception to DEP for Explorer, this is the wrong idea.

DEP errors occur when XP shuts down an application because she feels threatened by the latter.  XP should never feel threatened by his own substance - like Windows Explorer or Internet Explorer.  If XP gives you an error DEP of one of these applications, something is wrong with them and the best thing to do is to understand what the problem is and fix it (or I guess you can just start to try things and maybe get lucky).

Also, we are not a 'thing' on your system, what makes blind troubleshooting especially a roll of the dice.

But, let's see how you go with this idea of clean boot and optimization of the Microsoft Support Engineer and you can check if this may help.

  • Laptop Windows XP crashes without apparent motive or reason

My laptop that is running Windows XP crashes and freezes without apparent motive or reason. The only thing it will erase is turned off and back on line

Do not power down. That will make things worse. Use end of task in the after having accessed using Ctrl + Al + DELETE Task Manager.

What is the processor and RAM how much your computer have? Make a right-click on the icon my computer on your desktop and select properties for this information.

Try Ctrl + Alt + Delete, select Task Manager, and then click the performance tab. Under Commit Charge, which is the Total, limit, and the pic?

Select Start, all programs, accessories, System Tools, cleaning disk to emptying your trash, delete temporary Internet files and other selected options. I recommend also you click Other Options, System Restore and delete all but the last system restore point. Run Disk Defragmenter.

Using the system restore option is most appropriate when your system is slow and you need to increase the free disk space on your C partition. If you have errors that could be solved by using the system restore to your system settings back to before the error occurred initially do not use this option.

If more than one person uses the computer and they have their own user log you need to run Disk Cleanup in each user profile that you want to delete all the unwanted files.

A better program of disk cleanup is cCleaner. Delete System Restore points may be important if you have little free disk space. The ability to delete them is one of the tools options. You can selectively remove those created in less important moments.

cCleaner comes with a registry tool. Do not use this tool as any registry cleaner could lead to the creation of very difficult to resolve system errors.

    Hi kathyd,.

    ·        You did changes to the computer before this problem started?

Since we do not know what is causing this problem, I'd suggest unanimous the event viewer on your computer and check the details in the window logs messages/error codes important related to the question, during the time where this problem occurs and after return.

Event logs can help you identify and diagnose the source of current system problems or help you predict potential system problems.

Access the link below to learn how to view and manage the event logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP

You can try to start both computers in safe mode and check if it can open the folder where the MPEG 2 files are stored and if windows Explorer crashes. To boot to the desktop in safe mode keep tapping key F8 during restart. Once you see the option to start in safe mode select and press to enter.

I hope this helps. Post back with the required information.

  • Windows Explorer crashes failed msvcr90.dll

    Friends

I have this most annoying problem. It happens on my computer and the computer of a friend. I have Vista Pro 64 bit and my friend a Windows 7 Home Premium, also 64-bit.

We both use the same two programs for a specific project, we want to do. A program is a data management program called FieldWorks, where export us the data in the format of LibreOffice. I think that this problem started during the installation of LibreOffice and then begins to export stuff in the program of FieldWorks.

Very often, when we click on an exported file in .odt (LibreOffice) on the desktop, or simply click anywhere in a folder on the desktop, where we store .odt files, then immediately the Windows Explorer crashes with the following error message:

Explorer Windows has stopped working. Windows can check online... Check online... The details of the problem are:

Problem signature: problem event name: BEX64 Application name: the Explorer.EXE Application Version: 6.0.6002.18005 timestamp of the Application: 49e02a1e fault Module name: MSVCR90.dll fault Module Version: 9.0.30729.6161 fault Module Timestamp: 4dace4e7 Exception offset: Code of Exception 00000000000552d 4: c0000417 data exception: 0000000000000000 OS Version: 6.0.6002.2.2.0.256.6 locale ID: 1033 additional information 1: complementary 46e0 2 information: information additional 4ce498f1e2ebb3719af008d4ef97bedc 3 : 7 d 05 additional information 4: 729ac305dabb24e28fbe99019ecbbab7
Also my friend and I get the exact same message and the same fault Module name and version. It can happen several times in a row, insofar as we cannot get to any of the .odt files in the folder via the Windows Eplorer window or desktop, but I got a remove the .odt file in a command window.  Otherwise just Explorer to crash. :-(

I tried many things to fix this, among them:
    1. I re-entered the msvcr90.dll
    2. I learned that it is the program of MS Visual C++ 2008 that installs this msvcr90.dll and use it
    3. I removed all instances of MS Visual CC ++ Vista computer
    4. I removed all instances of the msvcr90.dll and restarted. Then I made sure that no file with this name has appeared again.
    5. even after that I still get this crash explore with this error message about this being the fault module msvcr90.dll!
    6. I used Windows find defective or missing files, sfc scannow. No gain.

How this possible error, if there is no msvcr90.dll is left on the system? And no Visual C++ 2008?

I then tried to reinstall MS Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable to see if that helped, but once again no change. :-( The same error came once again. This version of Visual C++ have not yet installed a version of msvcr90.dll but a msvrc100_XXX.dll

Until I deleted the MS Visual C++ 2008 (and 2005 and 2010) of my system, I noticed that the existing msvcr90.dll was not even the same version that says that this error report is the version of the Module of fault!

I am quite at a loss here. What can I do to solve this problem, which is annoying and time consuming? I could send one .odt files, someone at Microsoft to look at, or what?

    Thank you

The error that you are experiencing seems to be a known issue:

This problem can be fixed in an update of LibreOffice, so make sure you're running the latest version.

If you are running the latest version of LibreOffice or if the error persists you can try the following:

    Go to the following folder:

In this folder, right-click and rename the shlxthdl_x64.dll to shlxthdl_x64.old.

My Windows mail crashes whenever I hear from Facebook. Any ideas? Thank you!

E-mails from Facebook are built a little differently than most, and they can sometimes do this, because they go outside certain standards.  What you can try to do if this happens a lot is go in tools | Options | Read and check to read all messages in plain text only and then open the message from Facebook.  Or you can try doubleclicking top to open it in a window without displaying in the preview pane, and that could keep him under lock and key.

You could also try compact and repair the database in the case of the question is also linked data (see www.oehelp.com/WMUTil/).

When you open the video files that display thumbnails, the codec is used to create the thumbnail for the videos it decodes. A work around for this is to change the display of files of other tiles. You can try to reinstall your codecs or download other codecs, do a google search and download only from trusted sites. You might have added new video file formats, and you need the codec for this video format.

  • Windows Explorer crashes when the click with the right button on folders

My Windows Explorer crashes whenever I right click on a folder, any folder.  It is for me a "Windows Explorer has stopped working" then it gives me a warning 'Windows restarts.  Then he closes my Explorer window.  I tried many things to see if that would help and nothing has done so far.  Anyone has any suggestions on how to solve this problem or knows what could be the problem?

Click right problems are very often caused by third-party programs adding entries in the context menu.  Here is a program that can help you manage these inscriptions: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html.  Here, another article written for XP, but it applies to Vista that may be useful: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/context_folders.htm.

    I hope this helps.

  • Windows Mail crashes

My Windows Mail crashes and I am unable to find a cause. I am running Vista, edition Home premium 32-bit with the usual assortment of software. Kind of, I suspect as Plaxo not being not a good choice but do not want to lose the bennies. My ISP is Comcast and I use Chrome as a browser. Too many problems with IE. I tried to download IE 9 a few times and it has messed up things considerably. I just wish that MS had a package easy to use that I could count on, but right now, forget about it.

Try to compact and repair the database of WinMail (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/).  Then see if it works very well.  If not, then find interference antivirus (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3) and also see point 15 on this page re IE9.
