  Hi all!

  I'm sure you all know, my satellite A30 has an integrated graphics card. On processors Intel site it says with RAM on approximately 197 MB (I can't remember the exact amount, but no matter), the GPU will run to about 64 MB. It does not say that any further improvements in the main text. But, there is a caption under one of the photos on the site that shows that the maximum possible GPU memory is 128 MB.

  I intend to improve the memory on my computer anyway, but I was wondering how this would effect the graphics card, and if it could improve the GPU would be what I need to do to maximize its potential?

  Currently, I run my A30 - 141 (ATI Radeon GPU) with 1 GB of RAM 128 MB are reserved for the use of graphics. I also use the latest graphic drivers Catalyst Omega and I find that this combination gives excellent performance with games (e.g. FarCry), and also when I do a video editing with Nero or Ulead.

  I think that the GPU Intel changes the allocation of dynamic video ram based on the amount of RAM installed so that my ATI installation allows me to pre-select the amount of RAM of 16 MB to 128 MB (in the properties of the video).

  Adding extra RAM to your A30 should certainly improve things.

• Problems of memory on the Satellite L30-101

  I have a toshiba satellite l30-101 laptop and wanted to upgrade the RAM, so I bought 2 x 1 GB sticks to put in it.
  Now, I could not find all those at 533 mhz so I bought 2 667 mhz after a talk to a technical guy who said if I had 2 the same speed it will work very well.

  Only this isn't at all that I can put a stick and it works very well with the 533 mhz.
  The one I have in if I try to put the two sticks in it comes up with errors of memory and I get the bsod that restarts my computer and did not get my games or other programs.
  Is anyway to make sure I can have both new sticks in that I really need RAM and do not want to buy different ones.
  I mean if I can get another one we should probably work well work?

  I think that the speed of the memory has nothing to do with the BSOD!
  In my opinion the BSOD appears due to the failure of memory!

  In addition the L30-101 supports only the FSB 533 Mhz. In this case you will not be able to run the 667 Mhz modules of memory at full speed.
  The modules will run at 533 Mhz only!

  So in my opinion, you must replace the defective module with one that works very well!

  There's certainly nothing wrong with the graphics card, but as you said maybe with the internal display or with additional parts as i.e. fl-inverter.
  But in my opinion, it looks more like malfunctioning monitor TFT however, I recommend checking out parts and a laptop technician with professional experience needs to know what is the problem

  I would like to buy laptop A100-906. It has 1024 MB DDR2 memory 533mGz but I want to raise DDR2 memory up to 2 GB. So my question is:
  These 1024Mo 1024Mo DDR2 single plate in a DDR2 slot and the second DDR2 slot is empty or they are two 512Mb DDR2 plates and two DDR2 slots are busy?

  To my knowledge the laptop was shipped with a 1 024 MB module and the second Bank is free.

  You forget to mention what are the names of the dll-files :). But still, even with the names he cannot drive anywhere. First suggestion: run a full! ScanDisk on your primary partition (usually drive c :)). The lost files could come from the fact that your data are damaged somehow. Second, try to uninstall the Add/REMOVE program section powersaver module in the control panel. After you have uninstalled, try to install again.

  Thanks for the comments miss the *.dll error message. Let me tell u, when I first go to the menu Tools of system I see "scan disk" function isn't here. I'm looking surprisingly it wasn't there. Can you guess what happens?

  When I try to uninstall the "Toshiba Power Management Utility" as you suggested, it tells me that the source is on the web. I cheked the CD of tools, the toshiba power Saver is empty. The installation program asks a (package) MSI file which I can't locate from the CD and the web. What should I do?

  Please help me. I am a new user for laptops and know very little about hardware/software.

  Well, this seems odd. If you open "My computer" and right-click on Local C: drive (or whatever you named it), then select properties from the drop-down.

  I just bought a Toshiba Mini PCI Card on ebay. When I opened the cover of the Mini PCI Slot I see not the range cable for the antenna. If I put the card into the slot, Windows detects and installs but I can't connect to the available network. Windows says that the material conncention (antenna) may not only be o.k. someone of experience with that? I don't want to unscrew the laptop to find the cables.

  I have a laptop Satellite A30 and I am not sure there is a wireless lan card or not. It has a switch on the left side, but the Device Manager does not detect the card. Installation of the driver fails also.

  I own a Toshiba Satellite S1900-101 (PS190E - 006 X 8 - 1N). I love my laptop, but'd like it even more if it had more RAM! A friend of mine gave me the following:

  As far as I know that you can upgrade the RAM up to 2 GB of RAM
  The bus (FSB) front-end speed seems to support 533 Mhz and that's why you should be able to use the 533 Mhz RAM modules.

  PS: The laptop must support 2 slots of memory if you are able to put 2 x 1 GB RAM

  I think that you have incompatible modules for mode dual channel.
  What RAM do you have?

  A module is maybe corrupted and so he doesn t run in mode dual channel.

  You can check the module with a program like Memtest86: [www.memtest86.org]

  In principle, there is no problem with the mixture of slightly different types of RAM modules, but normally the total RAM will run at the speed of the slowest module. When your notebook detects the right amount of RAM from two sticks then it don't will don't... no problem.

  I would like to install two 1 GB modules to upgrade to 2 GB.

  If the manual says that you can upgrade the memory up to 1 GB of RAM then you will not be able to use 2 x 1 GB of RAM and would not be able to upgrade to 2 GB.
