One of the modules is bad or one of the soDIMM slots on the motherboard.

  • Memory twin on U840-10U

    Hi all

AFAIK the U840-10U has a 4 GB of DDR3 memory module memory (1600 MHz). It also has an extra plug for an additional memory module. Am I wrong?

This model has dual-channel memory technology? I mean, if I add a new additional 4 GB of DDR3 (1600 MHz) memory module, the computer would be able to access it at the same time? I'll make it through the Toshiba SAT official not to lose the warranty.

This seems to be the U840 supports two correct memory locations.
The device supports DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3-12800) SO-DIMM 4 GB and it support dual channel.

  • Upgrade memory - Compaq Presario SR1630NX

Planning the upgrade on my HP - Compaq Presario SR1630NX memory. Before buying a product of memory, I want to make sure it is compatible with the Compaq. Info on the Compaq Presario SR1630NX memory is as follows: 1) 512 MB (2 x 256) memory installed in the 4 slots 2 DIMM; (2) 2 4 DIMM slots open. (3) type of memory is 184 pins DDR SDRAM. It is a bit confusing when you try to sort the different products available memory. Identified the PNY Memory twin 2048 MB PC3200 DDR 400 MHz memory (2 x 1024MB), Model #MD2048KD1-400. Memory is this product compatible and recommended? Otherwise, any suggestions?

    Hello

    JJM says:
I ordered the Crucial memory upgrade kit. Then will come the real installation. I'm a little tentative trying to change modules of memory because I've not done this before. Are there problems I should be aware of that I open the SR1630NX, find the motherboard and memory sticks, remove and install new?

    It's really very simple.

All it takes is patience and attention to the location of the index in the module and the game inside the DIMM slot.

Unplug the power connector from the power outlet.

    Open the case.

touch something metal in the case with your hand to dissipate static electricity from your body. I actually always use an anti-static wristband.

Press the tabs on each side of a module locking and it comes out.

use the thumb and forefinger on each end of a module and remove it carefully.

during the installation of the modules to place them in the same locations you deleted the 'old' of.

Search the index of the module tab and the tab corresponding inside the ALS DIMMt.

Use the slots on the inside and under the locking tabs guide to guide the module in the DIMM connector correctly

now, use your thumbs to the top end of the module for shake it gently in the DIMM slot.

you will know that it is in place as you feel / hear a click.

now check to make sure that the locking tabs are in place at the ends of the module.

Repeat the process with the other modules

That's all there is to it.

    Kind regards

  • Possible advantage i7-860 vs i7-930: 16 GB of memory compared to 12 GB?

    People,

I'm scary on a new build for CS5. I searched and read post after post and try to avoid cluttering up the jury with redundant threads. I'm quite new here and I would like to do my part by using before messages first. Many thanks to injury for his guides and others also.

My question today does not seem to have been addressed, about the advantage of having 16 GB on the LGA-1156 platform to 12 GB on the LGA-1366. We can skip the intro and go directly to the red text if this post seem you too long.

At this point, I gave up the fight to keep my Phenom X 4 system, especially since I have a Canon T2i which produces files in format AVCHD (thanks to all for the age of enlightenment on this issue). I realize also that other programs in CS5 are not accelerated as a body with its MEP. Therefore, it makes sense to make the jump to Intel for a platform of editing at the moment, if I want to use my AVCHD clips to straight-up without transcoding (which is something I can try a little before I sell my AMD bench). A fan of AMD, or like me a person with an AMD system, is not likely to see the situation change. Even the core 6 AMD 1090 t. does not appear huge gains in the benchmarks at the beginning.

I teach, and what got me on AMD has been the cost of the platform. Card mother and the DDR2 memory for added savings that I put four systems in my math class. A curiosity to try and keep my setup AMD for CS5 has to realize that I could get out my mother DDR2 with 16 GB memory (4 x 4 GB per module slots) max and fill all the slots for the performance memory twin in all modules. He had me wondering if the advantage of more memory could compensate for my slower CPU. Probably not, I now think that I should always empty my Phenom X 4 for Intel platform.

The interesting thing is that this consideration of memory 16/12 GB of the LGA-1156 versus platforms LGA-1366. It seems likely that if harm can live with 12 GB and hit the top of the benchmark with it, 12 GB sounds pretty good to me. But still, it would be nice to have the extra 4 GB.

There may be a compromise that bridges the best of both worlds?

The i7-860 use motherboards with 4 locations of memory. Newegg has the G.Skill DDR3 16 GB memory kit with timings of 7-7-7-18 $600 (good price, good timing). When purchased as part of a combo, you can get a decent LGA SATA 6/USB 3.0 - card mother 1156 for around $100. I love this approach, like paying $200 for a card mother just gripes me. (Which is probably stupid, because I think that if I intend using my CS5 Production Premium and my video equipment at their full capacity, I need to put together a platform that is not a bottleneck.) Why get hung up on the difference of $300 - $400 in platform when I have thousands in the rest of the things?)

On the otherhand, if you're not saving if possible all will crawl out-of-hand quickly...

So, what do you say? A 12 GB i7-930 platform, simply because of the memory? one prefer an i7-860 16 GB On system would see a generalized difference be it? The platform i7-930 has an advantage on the i7-860 in a dimension that could exceed the extra memory? Or don't Pr as a memory ranging from 12 to 16 GB make a noticeable difference in ease of use program, as during treatment, such that small loss in other areas paled in comparison? I could live with slightly longer render times, etc. If additional memory may make the program more accessible. From what I've read here-n-yon, ranging up to 16 GB makes a difference. But what kind of difference? Game change?

I noticed there is no one i7-860 of anywhere near the top of the PPBM chart, which gives me pause. Also, I know about the update of the X 58 ' Gulftown 6 core CPU boards. But I'm going to worrry on this subject after I see how my first rig - I shoot short clips to school and that you don't have to change the length of the films.

Bottom line-anyone here, if the construction of a new rig, would use the i7-860 on the i7-930 simply because the 860 uses a motherboard with 4 memory slots, so granting of the advantage of the 16 vs.12 GB memory? I am not 24GO in x 58 ' on board without worrying, so the choice is firming rather well. Slower platform to 16 GB resisted faster platform with 12 GB of memory.

The nature of Premiere Pro and its needs to answer the question, or the answer fell to General Assembly as render times, etc.? Someone has cause to think that the extra 4 GB will do Pr humming better in some important aspects?

We will relax and consider for a moment what type of disk activities take place during a normal editing session:

    1 OS access

2 maintenance tasks made to processes and services

    3. access to the files of Tenp

    4. access to the Page files

and forget immediately because there is not that you can do about them, apart from the reduction in the number of services and processes, in other words the system setting and increasing memory.

Now what remains during an editing session is:

    5. access source material

    6. access to the files indexed, consistent and spikes in the media cache

    7. access to the files of pointer in the media cache database

    8 temp file access

    9. access to the preview files

    10 PR files access

    11. access to the plugin files

    12 service Manager access

    13. access to the QT service

    14 dynamic access Link

    15 etc.

  • Using a FP-I-V5 in differential mode

    Hello

I'm creating an application by using the Modules of Point field. I use some memory twin for i/o modules. Does anyone know how we should connect module FP-I-V5 channel as differential. Examples of the operating instructions do not cover the case of differential.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

Dual Channel FieldPoint modules are isolated from each other. For analog modules, such as the FP HAVE V5, the two channels on the module share the same commune, while they are considered to be asymmetric. However, if you only use one channel, you don't share in common with the other channels and are therefore the differential measure.

To use the FP-I-V5 as a differential module, simply use a single channel.

The first thing to check is the temperature of the CPU: If the temperature of 54 ° C is idling (as opposed to slot a load), you have a heat problem, which is usually caused by a thermal installed incorrectly heatsink cooler / CPU fan. In this case, when you try to do something to all the bosom of Premiere Elements, this CPU temperature springs to near 100 ° C and accelerators, then the clock speed way, way down. At idle, the CPU temperature should be only about 30 ° C, 54 ° C No.

No, you needn't the ExpressCard if you have an eSata port. I did not, so I was just showing what is available.

eSata drives are not faster than internal hard drives (at least 7200 rpm ones), but they're pretty close. The point is NOT to use USB or FireWire, port ports, they are slower. But for editing on a laptop, you'll want a second disc for your support with your internal drive for the OS and creation. You can do it on a drive to the rigour, but performance will suffer. If your laptop could mount a second internal drive then that would be nice, but it's going to be a hot laptop!

  • "The String to Byte Array" and its operations on-site (memory) of twins "Byte Array to string"? (or if they incur sentence of copy/memory operation?)

I can't deduct the answer to this question (topic/post title) of the help of LabVIEW on the functions.

Intuitively, it seems that the two representations of data are equal to the memory and so goes between the two should essentially be a no-op when the code is compiled... but is it? (assuming that the length of the array of strings/remains constant, can I go back repeatedly without performance?)

As a string of LabVIEW is a handful and any other type of data except tables aren't a handful; that implies to me that a string = U8-table-grip handle and so a string into an array of U8-could be a memory or inefficient operation since no conversion actually take place?

The reason I ask, is that when you work with for example TCP Read or read VISA, 'data' reading is always a string, but according to what you are doing, this string is often more efficiently processed/interpreted if converted to an array of U8 and I just want to know if (memory and CPU point of view) I can move freely between the chain and U8 array and return depending on what format is most appropriate to a point?

(Also, I'm at this stage fairly certain that the "array of strings of bytes" is cleaner AND more efficient than a type-cast to an array of U8 strin... but I could be wrong.)

I did some tests on this just now, and my conclusion is that it is completely in place. The local users group had a coding challenge when this became relevant to my solution.
