  Palm Desktop is included in the box with all sold new PalmOS devices.  It syncs the pictures to your PC for you.

  Can anyone tell what may be the problem when an error message indicating the following keeps appearing on screen before you perform a hot sync: "error (Sys 0505) (0, 841)?

  This started happening recently after that I tried to download a program to access with the Palm software. Thank you!

  Hello and welcome to the Community Forums of Palm.

  This issue is one of the most frequently asked and answered questions here on the forum.  Search on "Sys 0505" and you'll find many, many hits.

  What is the application that you have downloaded (maybe MyPalm), it is not compatible with the TX and is intended only for SmartPhones (Treo and Centro).  You will need to remove the application.

• Centro desktop doesn't install it to the previous thread palm desktop and cannot uninstall old version

  The Centro CD installs access desktop Palm Centro
  desktop computer - it stops and says that I have to uninstall existing Palm desktop as it will not be to level the previous version.

  Problem is, I can't install off Sony palm desktop. It's in c:\program
  files, but not displayed in Control Panel / Add Remove prgrams. has no
  allow revo uninstall it.

  I tried to plug just in the Centro but windows might find usb drivers
  (no doubt)

  So I'm a little stuck. Help!

  I just needed to know what was the operating system of the PC and the version of Palm desktop so I could tell you where to get the correct files.

  The best way to protect your data is to export the data in each category of Palm Desktop in a separate folder on your PC.

  Create a new folder on your PC somewhere that suits. Name it something like Palm Desktop data. Click on the link below and follow the instructions on this page for the export procedure.

  Make sure you only select everything for the beach in the export window.

  With the data stored in the created folder, make a copy of this file and save it on a USB key, cd - rw or external hard drive.

  Whenever you change in Palm Desktop, export the data that has been changed in this file and save again to external media.

  With this process you can always import the data in Palm Desktop, whenever you have a problem with the data in Palm Desktop, or if your computer/hard drive/device crash.

  Recently bought a Centro (Sprint). PC under Windows XP Pro and Outlook 2007. Problem: when I try to open a wmv file, message "the application that you need to view this type of file is not on your phone."  Is there a demand?

  You can search for a player who will play WMV on Palm OS files.

  Another option is to convert the WMV files to a format supported by Centro. Check out the video players on the site Web of Kinoma.

  He says that Kinoma producer 3.1 can convert WMV files to play on the Palm OS.

• MicroSD corrupts and restarts Centro

  Hello

  My Verizon Centro has been randomly corrupt my SD card once I sync and when saving a picture to the card. If I remove the corrupt card and then reinsert it into the centro, it restarts then indefinitely until I have remove the card and reformat it with my PC. The card info page shows a series of boxes by the small sd card symbol and ptunes claims that I removed the card. If I explore the map with my PC, all files have boxes for names and won't let me explore the files themselves directory syntax is incorrect. Sometimes pTunes will play the last played song but won't find all the other songs. I was remove my card for synchronizations or just format the card and reinstall the music data in a 'MUSIC' folder on the card, almost every day. Does anyone else have this problem? Help please.

• Centro and mysterious disappearance of HotSync

  I use a Verizon Center on an Intel Mac v.10.4.11. In order to synchronize with iCal and AddressBook Mac, I use Missing Sync for Palm OS v.6.0.4.

  I recently started to the top of my Mac and noticed that the icon in the dock for HotSync Manager had changed to a question mark, which means that the location of the actual application was unknown. I searched my machine and found a file (in a place I'm saving myself for the files, I'm not sure I want trash yet) containing an earlier version of the Palm OS software that I had used with an old m515, I used to own. I took the HotSync Manager to this folder application and moved to the current Palm OS application folder in the Applications folder on my hard drive. I received the following error message when you try to start HotSync Manager:

  Failed to launch application

  The application 'HotSync Manager' could not be launched because of a shared library error: ""<>".

  I don't quite know what the next step is, since Missing Sync for Palm OS will not start now. Help, please! I know that this will eventually become a problem, because my Centro acted weird lately, and I'm going to need my software based on the Office for the full backup I need it to be. Thanks for any assistance with ideas on what to try.

  Well, so to think I'm a patient person! I forced Missing Sync to stop smoking, disabled Antivirus Norton autoprotect, turned off the firewall of Mac and restarted. I then started Missing Sync up again once and voila! Everything is OK, in place and up to date, much to my relief. Thanks for everything looks, and I hope the information is useful if someone else has similar problems.

• Centro and Ubuntu 9.10 Hotsync

  Hi all

  I go to 9.10 over the weekend and have a problem with connecting to my Palm Centro.

  I use ubuntu from 8.04 and have been synchronize my Palm (with jPilot and Palm Desktop on Windows XP host (in VBox) regularly.) (not without initial problems usual .)

  After the upgrade, I've synced it once - sync reported an error with a voice memo and ended. My calendar and todo on Palm has updated correctly. However after only instance, now every time I try to plug my Palm using the USB key... the Palm restarts! I can't understand why OS upgrade in anyway would affect this particular USB connection.

  My other USB sticks work properly (and Palm USB sycn happens on other machines - RHEL and Mac). So, it must be something to do with the USB settings on 9.10, I guess.

  Someone else had this problem? Any help is appreciated I need to sync my calendar and tasks on a daily basis.

  You can do a test, try to do a sync after killing the process modem-Manager. Has worked for me, I tried to connect to the Internet.

• Centro, when Im on the internet, no pictures will only show a small red and blue image

  I don't know what happened to my Centro. My son was playing with it (yes I know error #1) and when I had got it back I went to log on espn.com, and none of the pictures show only a small image with what looks like a sun bed on the blue waters with a red sky. I went to other sites (cnn, flickr and so on) but no pitures will appear. What could be the problem?

  Check your settings in Blazer.  Looks like you've changed 'Fast fashion' for the screens.

  Tap on the icon representing a lightning bolt at the top of the Blazer and see if it is set on fast Mode.  Change it to 'Normal '.

  Photos should load now.

• Centro crossed the... washer and dryer

  So it wet enough (even if it was a machine with horizontal axis, so it was more like a lot, a lot of falls).  Bad news was that it was of tumble dried.  Of course, the screen was pretty damaged.  I think that this puppy is toast

  But red color is no longer available.  Bought a replacement for black.  How is it difficult to change the shells?

  All what I have to do to be able to restore the backup of the data from the old phone to the new?

  To restore data, just cool the new phone entirely (3 hours), then connect to your computer and Hotsync.  Choose your old username.

• Bluetooth synchronization between the PC and Palm Centro

  I followed the instructions and synchronized through the USB cable for the first time and everything worked fine.  I wanted to sync via Bluetooth, but the fun stopped there. I get an error message on my Centro 'cannot start the HotSync operation because the port is in use by another application. I tried various ports but no luck.  Any ideas?

  Thank you.  I'm giving it a shot. By the way, is the Palm OS on the Centro compatible with Lotus Notes e-mail and calendar to synchronize?

  I'm considering buying a computer HP DV6-1350US, with Intel Core 2 Duo, 64-bit with Windows 7. I'll always be able to use my current Palm Hot Sync Centro. I learn 64bits denies the possibility of Hot Sync. If so is there a solution available now or in the future? Or I have to buy a new phone?

  Hello dadoc, we mean that Win7 behaves a lot like Vista, in many ways.  Unfortunately, Palm or access (the owners of Palm Desktop) seem to have an interest in upgrading the software to become compatible with the 64-bit versions.

  Please see several threads 'Sticky' big at the top of this section about synchronizing with Vista64.  Bottom line will be that you can sync, but only via a wireless (BlueTooth) method.  Your computer will need the same way with built-in BlueTooth or a USB BlueTooth 'dongle' addition

  I recently bought English-Russian dictionary, but my Centro could not recognize Cyrillic fonts (instead, it shows the 'strange' letters). I know how to solve this problem on Windows OS. Could someone help me teach my Centro to read Russian please?

• Blue Centro square icon with up and down arrows

  When I'm in the mode 'phone' I see an icon at the top of my screen which shows a blue square with arrows up and down in it. I have looked in the manual forums and online, but can't find anything on this icon. I see pictures of her in the manual but no description. I'm just afraid it indicates that something is connected which could be draining my battery because I have to charge my phone every three or four days, even though I never text, never access to the web, never IM and I only use the feature phone about five times a week. Yes, it is true, as I do about five calls a week. I get a lot of calls, but rarely answer if I does not recognize that the numbers so maybe calls could be draining the battery.

  Anyway, my main question is not my battery life but this confused icon.

  I'm putting a song as my ringtone. I have no internet, so I followed the instructions in the manual for downlading a MP3 file. I have a ringtone MP3, recorded in iTunes and then synced it through Windows Media Player. I can play the song in pTunes. So, I downloaded the free program of MiniTones ringtone. When I open MiniTones, it does not list the song. I have checked that the file type is MP3 in itunes, but I can not understand how to check the type of pTunes. Any suggestions?
