Monitor /drivers

I get an annoying error message. Whenever I start my PC it tells me that my video drivers have changed and I need to reinstall the driver rotation. Is it possible that I can stop this or I'll have to live with that? The monitor is

HP w1907v OS XP home sp3 on a Dell 2400.

Message 7 of this thread, looks like it is related to HP My Display, as the message went away once it has been uninstalled.  I find it interesting that your message and this thread imply that monitor and a Dell PC.  Just one interesting observation more than anything else.

If HP My Display is installed, I'll try to install the new HP My Display from the link below making sure to uninstall the current.

  • HP27vc: Tech Support a severe disappointment - the HP monitor drivers

So, I bought this monitor at Staples last weekend.  I installed and also the HP Support Assistant.  When you're done, I then found that I was still operating under the generic "pnp monitor" driver Windows.

HP Support Assistant was no help at all - he could not recognize that I am using a HP monitor.

So I called HP Tech support today - as it turns out, it is offshore support.  After finally convincing that I indeed had a HP device that was under warranty, I was connected with another offshore technician, who proceeded to 'teach me' there is no HP DRIVERS - all use generic drivers.  At this point, I realized that I was being quite a lot of manure of cattle.  When I asked why HP Support Assistant did not see the monitor on my system, he said that it was not supposed to see the monitor, only the pc mainframe.  I told her that it was not very helpful and ended the call.

So I dug even more, and of course, I found HP27vc LCD Monitor driver, sp73128.exe.  I installed this and now my monitor is running with the HP driver and not the generic.

I checked HP Support Assistant once again, who wondered if the correct driver has been installed now, he can now see the monitor, but alas, he still does not see it.

Is it worth keeping this HP Support Assistant installed?  I mean, because he does not see the monitor, how can it be of any use to me?

    Any comments or thoughts appreciated

    Hello:

I guess you can get all kinds of divergent opinions about the usefulness of the software HP Support Assistant (HPSA).

It is one of the first programs I uninstall when I have a PC HP.

You have found, you can check the support page for your HP product for new drivers (or drivers in general).

One of the things that scares me is that some people have the software HPSA runs automatically, and it will download and install software updates without knowing the user.

This can be particularly dangerous if it downloads and installs an update of the BIOS for the PC, and work on the PC during this process.  Not sure yet it is running, or casually reject all notifications that you are busy (I do this at the time), and if you close your PC for an update of the BIOS, you end up with a dead PC.

I read a few forum posts where that happened indeed a few people unhappy.

You can set the program to you not inform that, and then you choose when and which updates to install.

I just get rid of it... one more application running in background to slow down your PC.

Use the utilities to clean and optimize disk at least once a month to keep your PC works well.

  • Satellite C670 - monitor: gamma too high setting at startup

I have a Toshiba Satellite C670, win7 64-bit. I got it for about a month. The monitor drivers are the most recent available version.

I recently noticed a problem with the monitor gamma settings. At startup, the screen is brighter than it should be. When I go to monitor settings / color enhancements and I change default gamma 1.0, for example, 0.9, I see the screen Brown (significantly) on 2 separate but quick steps. Change the gamma to 1.0 makes the screen go more brilliant in one step (small), and the final result is darker what before I change anything.

Increase gamma to 1.1 or 1.2 also gives me a result darker than the 'declared' gamma of 1.0 at startup; in my opinion, the gamma at startup is about the same when I manually updated 1.3.

"However, when I set the gamma for, for example, 0.9, at startup, the screen will return to about 1.3" real gamma "again. Of course I could shuffle control gamma back and forth whenever I start my laptop, as well as gamma 1.0 is indeed as dark as it should be, but surely I shouldn't do this? I use the laptop mostly for so it is quite important for my use of the laptop to have correct gamma of photo editing.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Kind regards
    Bart

    Hello

From my own experience, each screen takes care of different properties.
As far as I know, monitor manufacturers store gamma, color of inside information monitors that are used by the graphics card drivers.

For common use, its ok, but people who don't Imaging there are various tools that help you manage these settings.

I recommend you test a tool called QuickMonitorProfile
It's free and allows you to create the most commonly used workspace profiles. It is also possible to create a monitor profile.

    Google for it

  • HP offers Windows 7 drivers for its screens?

I have a w2556hc monitor I bought about 6 months ago. I really like it. I was so curious when I paired with my new Pavilion e9250, which all of a sudden the ambient light sensor has failed and Windows 7 would regularly lose contact with the monitor's USB hub. While trying to answer these questions, I noticed that several features of the utility of my display were now grayed out. I checked the HP site and there is no Windows 7 drivers or other downloads available for the w2556hc. I checked to see if there's something available for the current model of inch 25 HP, the 2509. And no, there is only the Vista drivers available. I already tried to install the Vista driver and it makes no difference on the greyed characteristics and non-functional light sensor.

Hey the HP you plan to develop something that will restore full function at least monitor years under Windows 7?

And while I wonder, why HP sector the resolution on its recent monitors? My 2556 has a resolution of 1920 x 1200 max latest 2509 is set to 1920 x 1080. Just curious.

Message edited by randallintacoma on 11/28/2009 15:10

The monitor drivers are OS independent. 3 files that make up a monitor driver are the same for Vista because they are for Win 7. If your monitor's native resolution of 1920 x 1200 display, so it is up to date, especially if it is identified as a w2558hc (there no w2556hc).

MyDisplay is a program that helps control the functions of the desktop monitor. This program may not have a version of Win7 because it has been abandoned for a long time. But it adds all the features of the screen.

The ambient light sensor is independent of the computer, you can go to the monitor menu and select settings by default just to be sure certain local parameters have not disturbed it. Any changes to the settings the as the brightness or contrast will turn off ESL.

The new monitor with a resolution of 1980 x 1080 is not a drop in resolution. Your monitor has an aspect ratio of 16 x 10, new monitors have an aspect ratio of 16: 9, which is identical to the TV.

    See you soon,.

  • My Aspire V7 582PG cannot detect external monitors

I recently bought an Aspire V7 582PG, put in a new SSD and then installed Windows 8. The laptop works well, except that it cannot detect external monitors (in Control Panel, I get "Has not detected a different view".) I tried with 2 monitors (different models) that are known to work, via HDMI and VGA.

I thought it might be a driver problem. Device Manager > 'Graphics cards' show 'Display card base Microsoft' and 'NVidia GEForce GT 750 M. The two drivers are up-to-date. 'Monitors' shows 'generic PnP monitor", which is also updated.

Then I went to http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers to download the driver for my model. The only one who had the relevant air was:

    MonitorELANTECHThe HID monitor drivers1.1.5

    Installer here: http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Driver/Monitor/Monitor_ELANTECH_1.1.5_W8x64_A.zip?acerid=635...

But when I unzip and run the Setup window closes a few seconds; I think it hangs, rather than installing correctly.

    Any suggestions?

My Acer tabs they need additional drivers to recognize the HDMI port.

I think having unzipped in a directory and open a DOS window with admin rights and run the application inside that. At least if an error occurs, you should be able to see. Sometimes just doubleclicking opens and closes a window so fast that you do not see the error.

Also in looking at support for a 'ultra' V7, I see several drivers for the chipset VGA and monitor. All may be required for the video display to work.

  • K272HL monitor has bad driver on Web site

Everyone knows something like that?  When I plugged my new monitor K272HL my PC recognized it immediately and my device manager showed is that the monitor of K272HL in his list of devices. I didn't install anything. However, a few days later I noticed that photos on Web sites suddenly aren't looking right. I went to the Device Manager and found that the monitor was now being listed as a generic PNP monitor. The K272HL is not found. I disconnected the monitor and reconnected again. Still no luck, it seems that the driver has simply disappeared.

So I went to download the driver for the monitor K272HL , but the driver that is contained in the file is for a monitor of K192HQL , not the K272HL. I advanced and tried, but it is certainly not the right driver.

I spent half an hour on the cat tries to convince the guy that the driver was hurt after uploading again several times. Finally, he gave me a number to call. After going through basically the same thing with the person I spoke to and finally convince the driver was wrong, he told me could not help me and to remind early the next day.

After 30 minutes on the phone with another phone support person, I think that the person manages to convince that the driver was wrong and said that he contacted someone else should be fixed in the next 24 to 48 hours. Certainly he has only 24 hours, but the wrong driver is always there. I hope that someone in the audience could have just sent me the good driver zip file is very small, but apparently they are not able to do it with their system or they only got the same bad driver like me.

It has been frustrating because all I want is the driver so that the images look OK, once again and my computer recognizes it as the monitor who really is. I can hardly believe, but I seem to be a person who has found a wrong link in a base of support.

    rfreedlund,

I received comments that the monitor drivers have been corrected for several models. My first test found that the K272HL and the K192HQL both showed the appropriate drivers. I hope that you find the same and I look forward to any comments.

Thank you again to continue this and help us fix this problem. I'm sorry he had to leave to get so far before it got attention, she needed.

    Thank you
    Cory

  • Multiple monitors using RDP 7 in Windows Vista x 64

I have two computers using Windows Vista x 64 and RDP 7, both computers have two video cards, however, there is no way to activate the two monitors with remote desktop.

Here are some tips on the configuration of the machine running Office remotely:
-Monitors have a different layout (Vertical and Horizontal)
    -Both computers have installed SP2
-Both computers use the NVIDIA drivers
-L' guest computer have no connected monitor

Up to present all the post in Internet refers is a mandatory condition the same monitor settings; However, that statement is NOT true, because I have a third computer using Windows 7, with no connected monitors, drivers NVIDIA, using the same version of RDP 7 and I am able to connect to this computer using the monitors.

  • Problem with the driver for the monitor (HP Mini)

Hey, I'm new here, I searched this forum, but I have found a solution to my problem.

HP Mini 210-3000 sv, I bought about half a year ago and because my Windows is in Greek and I did not understand a Word, I have re-installed Windows. I am currently with Home Premium 32-bit, if it's important. My problem is that in the monitor drivers that I don't have another generic PnP monitor, but it makes my computer slow and uses a lot of memory RAM and I remember that before reinstall, there was another monitor driver, but I don't remember the name, and now I can't find - or in HP support (it is said that my model does not yet exist) , or an internet forum... I installed the latest graphics drivers from HP (Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3150, the newest) site, but I'm really confused because there is no place I can find tells me which driver is good for my monitor and I have big problems. Sometimes Windows says I have problems with graphics, that close and reopen again. Can someone help me, please?

    Thank you!

Download and install the latest chipset driver Intel here.

    Restart the system.

Uninstall the Intel graphics driver (if it has been installed).

  • New monitor will display not all resolutions

Recently bought a new HP monitor # 2210 m, and am running HP Media center m7334n Desktop, Windows XP sp3, ram 2 GB, 2.0 G cpu.

Problem: that's like half of the resolutions listed in the monitor sheet (there are 11 presets).
I want to put it in 1280 x 768, but it is not listed as a choice in the display properties.

I lost several hours with HP technical support (Overseas), and their final decision was that the computer is too old (5 years) to support the new monitor. After I hung up, I realized that the monitor has been able to run on its native resolution of 1920 X 1080. So, how is it not possible to run at a lower resolution?

Graphics are integrated on the motherboard, so I can't find care about resolution so that it doesn't matter where.
I've updated the graphics driver and the driver for the monitor.
I uninstalled the driver for the monitor, computer rebooted, everything is recognized, without yellow exclamation, but still no option for the setting of 1280 X 768.

How can I get the monitor to display the resolution that it is capable of?

    Thanks for your help

    o.k.

all tracks have been explored and exhausted.

the integrated graphics card & monitor drivers have been updated.

the desired resolution does not always appear in the display properties or the available ATI ads.

I go to the idea that this particular resolution (1280 x 720) only is simply not supported by the graphics card.
