Motherboard Exchange.

I want to replace an ASUS m2n78 - la MB on a M9350F with a MSI ms 7548 MB that came out a m9500y. Do you anticipate any problems that I might have.

Any suggestions?

Useful tips?

I'm all ears (eyes... fingers?)

Wise1man, it's my pleasure.

I didn't know that the MSI mobo was an HP.  It will make a difference with connections.  They can be good.  I saw the two side by side and saw no problem at all.

I bought an Envy6-1110us (with an AMD A8) and was disappointed with the performance, so I bought a replacement with a processor motherboard intel Core I5 processor.

My problem is that I can't get the motherboard intel to display a video. I know it works (I tried actually several equipped with processors intel), but the LCD screen remains completely blank. I watched part numbers, and there is only a single LCD screen, you can use for this model, so I don't think it's a compatibility issue. I don't think it's something I forgot to plug / install, because I went the the installation several times just to be sure.

So what - the? What Miss me?

It's something that nobody can tell you without visually inspect what you've done.

You made sure you used memory modules are compatible with the new motherboard?

Have you tried to make a usb bootable Ubuntu Linux and boot it.

Don't you see any video in the phase of Pre-boot in the BIOS?

This would require disasssembly of the laptop.

I suggest that you take it to a PC repair shop to inspect.

It's an Alienware Aurora R1 2009 if you need more information made me know what to do and where I find

    Thank you!!

Your Gen1 Intel i7 9xx CPU is a socket 1366 X 58 chipset Nehalem (Bloomfield); motherboard is micro-ATX / u - ATX form factor (9.6x9.6") made for Aware by model MSI (MIcro Star int.) MS - 7591. Front wiring not necessary no change (plug & play) but the MIO Board turned out not to be able to run versions of software CmndCntr & therefore version 2.8.11 was replaced, on Windows7 & works.

Because of their catch of CPU, motherboard on R1 plateau (attaches the metal plate, the motherboard to & who live in the wall case) is different from that of the plateau of R4; If you remove your motherboard to graduate, you will find a black, liquid cooling back plate plastic bolted on the set; its four candlesticks bolts (in the model of bolt single socket 1366) are "" bumps, which may or may not affect the installation of a new plate, say for socket 1151 (your old black plastic plate is removed from the status bar, the new attached to the back of the motherboard itself and, if all goes well, the motherboard bolt on his plate without problem). You can run the Aurora R1 motherboard Exchange / upgrade as through bing search term / google where it may be possible to find out about a dozen or less trade / newspapers, construction certainly search for "Mother Aurora" here in this forum, you can post on Alien Arena, sift in the subforum AlienOwners Aurora & send a friend request to Spook who has experience with swaps R2 & R4 & may have advice, since I have no time to devote to your thread after posting this little help, so good luck

  • Portege 2010 - bad BIOS (block3)

    I have a portege 2010 with a bad bios
on normal startup, it goes to screen
BIOS (Block3) is damaged! (Call the repairman).

so I tried to reflash the bios in the usual way.
    do a disk with
    -----
    biosfile biofca6t.com
    chgbiosa.exe
    -----
and start either with the flashing the BIOS button (just to the left of the space bar)
or by pressing any key on-screen "block3.

It does not load the program chgbiosa.exe. who reads the bios file
    Hot flashes and it recharges
    -----
    Reading BIOS file...
Data erasure and writing the BIOS...

    ROM write successful!
    Utility finished
    -----
    Then it restarts

but unfortunately. nothing changes. He still goes to the display of block 3

so I think I can have damaged the chip of the bios on my hands.
Since the successful re-flash does nothing...

    -----------------
    NOT RECOMMENDED
So I decided to check if the chgbiosa actually do anything.
so, during the writing process, I unplugged the power.
(incomplete writing process) and I'm done with a (block 1)
damaged. An another bios update later.
and we are back to (Block3)
so it does not write in the bios
DO NOT TRY THIS: can erase the part "failsafe" of the bios
    ---------------------
so the question is. Where should I go from here.

I'm willing and able to unsolder the chip and flash also
but I don't have a bios not 'complete' user flashable part only of it since the official updates of the file...

can I order a new chip preflashed somewhere?

can I somehow totally clear the bios user box then it reflashing?

can - I somehow replace the bios (more than the standard chgbiosa way?)

can I transplanted the and of a motherboard Portege 2000
(the failsafe will start so I can flash with a bios P2010?)

I can start another tool, describing it as "chgbiosa.exe" on the floppy drive, which can be useful

can I do the smaller biosfile, so it won't need block3 (remove the logo toshiba etc.)
    from the rom file?

    Any suggestions are appreciated

This notebook is a project of the company. I am prepared to do anything...

    / Jean-Paul

    Hello

So many questions, and most of them must be answered by technicians. I really think you need professional help. I recommend you to call the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help.
To be honest, I don't think that you will be able to order this chip anywhere. Speak with the service.

By the way: mainboard renovated for Portege 2000/2010 with work well chip BIOS, I found on eBay for 39 euros, so if you can not do anything and BIOS repair buy new motherboard, Exchange and be happy.

Furthermore, I Portege 2000 and it's really nice laptop.

  • Re: Tecra S5 - 15 q - monitor display lines vertical and error 43 for GPU

After about 5 years my Tecra S5 is experiencing problems with its graphics.
Most of the time the (internal and connected an external via VGA) monitor displays vertical lines, and windows gives an error 43 on the map.

I was wondering if there is a way to solve this problem, and if this problem could be solved under warranty (although the protohistory of the warranty expired 3 years ago.) .

In my opinion, it is bad material work and as far as I know only way to fix it is motherboard Exchange. I n t have this model of laptop, but I can presume that the GPU is fixed on the motherboard and cannot be traded separately.

    Fixed under warranty? Of course.

  • Satellite 1400-103-BIOS (Block3) is damaged

Help, please. I have this laptop and all of a sudden when I open it today showed me the following message "BIOS (Block3) is damaged!
"Place the maintenance disk in the drive and press any key when ready."

I downloaded a BIOS of Toshiba and put it on a disc and portable loaded the new BIOS with success, but the message remains on the display no matter how many times I repeat the recovery procedure

    Hello

That s strange but you try to load the default settings in the BIOS? Maybe it works.
But to me it sounds like this ROM module is defective and must be replaced.

This laptop is quite old, so you could look on eBay for a second hand motherboard Exchange it by yourself.
Or contact you nearest authorized service provider. Technicians can check the laptop and fix it for you.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite 1400-503-fire flashing orange

    Hello

I decided to try to fix my old laptop, but I'm stuck on something.
When I'm trying to turn the machine on, it flashes right in the following order of morse code:

    -long =
    . short =

    *. - . . - - - .*

That could possibly say? I really don't want to not spend money fix at some point of service. Suggestions?

    Hi qtong,

This means that your mobile doesn t start more, you get only this blink code, right?

Well, in this case, it seems to be a serious hardware problem and only an authorized service provider can help you because they have special tools to check what this flashing code means.

For now, I guess it has something to do with the motherboard itself but that of just my personal opinion.
Motherboard Exchange is really expensive, as you probably know, so I doubt that it would be useful to fix

  • Assistant to office and Station Service showing details of the bad product

As it says in the title SN shows that number of 000000 and part as a worm. 1.
That are specific to distance. How can I change them? I tried to remove or recharge it a version update (each) with no joy.
    Any ideas?

    > As it is said in the SN watch as number of 000000 and part as a worm. 1.

What serial number and the part number (model number?) do you mean exactly?
Do you mean the laptop's serial and model number?

These details are part of the DMI string.
Usually after the motherboard exchange such DMI string must be updated with correct data.
In case the DMI will be not updated, data such as serial number and others will not display correctly.

You laptop as defective. I think the motherboard is faulty.

Sorry, but I think that there is nothing you can do to solve this problem, except the motherboard Exchange.

    Hello

I think that your IDE controller is loose or damaged! If the disc is ok the failure may be on the IDE controller and the controller is on the motherboard!

  • Qosmio F60 - 10 q - Sound is crackling

    Hello!

I bought a Toshiba Qosmio F60-10 q less that a year ago and after awhile I started having problems with my sound (the sound quality was very bad when the volume is higher than 50% and he made crackling noises etc. + my microphone wasn't working properly either).

I took it to the population of the warranty and they said they were diagnosed with a card his faulty and they would change it.

I waited about 2 weeks for the part to arrive and finally came back. Although they said they changed my sound card I'm not sure if that's even possible since I assume it's on board and my MAC differed not in makes me think they have changed entire motherboard or something like that.

Anyway, the laptop worked fine for 2-3 months and then it started having the same problems. I tried to think, but I really do not know if something specific triggered the problem. I had no time to consider new because I was in an exam session and I really need my laptop atm. My question is this:

Is a unusual problem and nobody knows what might be the cause of this? I mean if I'm doing something that I shouldn't be, and it is originally this sound card problems I can't really say what it is please any suggestion at all is welcomed!

    Hello

    > Well that they said they changed my sound card I'm not sure if that's even possible since I assume it's on board and my MAC differed not in makes me think they have changed entire motherboard or something like that.
Don t worry because everything was OK!
The sound card is fixed/soldered to the motherboard so it s just a sound chip on the motherboard and not actual card. Another MAC address would mean that guys have replaced the chip sound motherboard is also a new. :)

I can t tell why it happened again but it of the same problem, there is no other way wait for the replacement of the motherboard again. I mean, in the case where part of the material is assigned, you cannot do anything because you need professional help for the motherboard Exchange.

What you can do is update the audio driver, but I doubt that it could help you

In any case, I m that you can identify the problem with the technicians as soon as possible and they can tell you how long the repairs would take ;)

  • Processor and graphics upgrade for notebook Pavilion DV6Z?

Hello, my name is Charles and I am looking to upgrade my laptop Hp Pavilion DV6Z. I know that it is a older laptop, but recently I bought Diablo 3 and I want to be able to run it on here. This computer has 3 GB of Ram and had a new hardrive put in pretty recently. In this computer I have:

    HP Motherboard 30F2

    Processor AMD Athlon X 2 Dual-Core QL-60

Graphics AMD Radeon HD 3200 card.

and the minimum requirements for Diablo III are:

    -Intel Pentium D 2.8 GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X 2 4400 + processor

-NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT or ATI Radeon X 1950 Pro or higher.

Preferably, I would like to be able to run the game on average or better settings. Is it useful to upgrade this laptop even though it is a little older? Thanks for any advice.

    Hi, Charles:

I can't find the right to repair your laptop passes only dv6z.

This is the closest I could find.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c01744837.PDF

Basically, a complete motherboard Exchange should update the video.

The processor can probably be updated to one of those listed in Chapter 1.

The costs attendant when you run an upgrade card mother processor and swap, in my opinion, would exceed the cost of buying a new computer laptop with what you want in it, if you were to your trade (some stores offer up to $200 for the times) or sell it.
