Motorola Modem SB5100

Where can I find the driver of modem Motorola SB5100 for Windows 7-64 bit? On the Motorola found only 32-bit. I tried to install the XP driver but my computer says that the driver was not suitable for windows7 64B. I thank any response, TelmoC

You try to connect with the USB port? If so, use the ethernet port instead. requires no drivers.
I had this model (provided by my cable ISP), but I do not remember that he needed a driver for the two connection methods. But I could still have WinXP at the time.

  • Linksys wireless router is not my new Motorola modem Internet access

I am relatively new to setting up home networks, so it's maybe a stupid question but I'm stuck! I bought a new modem Motorola (SurfBoard 1621) as my old Motorola modem was not favorable to the increase of the speed offered by Comcast. The modem I bought was a model recommended by their web site. They recorded the new modem last night and I can access the Internet when the PC is connected directly to the modem, but not when the laptop is connected to my Linksys wireless router. (Sorry, I don't know the model because it is at home and I'm at work!) Is there something I should do for the router to recognize the new modem? The router recognizes the wireless laptop, but it can not connect to the Internet.

Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

Success! Thanks a lot for your answer. My router is a WRT - 54G links.

The instructions were very informative, although I have a suggestion. Just restart the modem and the router did not work. I had to reboot other equipment in my system (a NetGear firewall and a level switch 5 ports) and the router and the modem. I would like to see the reboot of reference tracking "and other devices. I guessed the appropriate power of sequence (modem, firewall, switch, router, computer), and fortunately, it worked.

Again, thank you for your quick response.

    Karthike,

How do you require the drivers to install? What method do you use?

    Try the following:

Download the device drivers on the manufacturer's website. This is a direct link to your device:

    http://www.Motorola.com/business/us-en/business+product+and+services/software+and+applications/software+solutions/data+communications+software/SM56_Software_modem_US-en

On the Support tab, download the Vista drivers. Indexed as: driver for Windows Vista/XP/2 K/ME/98, for DFV/Universal Modem, version 6.12.07 universal (5 MB, zip)

Unzip the downloaded by right-clicking and then extract all, this will generate a file which includes both drivers and executables for installation.

  • Satellite L305-S5919 - slow modem speed

Hello people. Right now I have this modem driver - * Toshiba Software Modem for Windows Vista (Agere). * But I'm not all that nice to her performance, so I thought to try another.

I'm looking at that - is * Motorola Modem Driver for Windows Vista (32/64-bit) *. The information about this said, it is compatible with my model, but I didn't know if it would work as the one I have is Agere (Agere, it's what it came with nine).

I have a Satellite L305-S5919, Vista 32 bit and Toshiba Software Modem Agere Driver 2.1.77.

    Thank you!

    Hey,.

I think that the problem is not the driver, it s technology modem itself. You know that the speed of the modem is 56,000 Kbps?

The point is that most of the websites are already designed for broadband connections, because they have a lot of high-resolution graphics and other multimedia stuff.

In your case, I would choose another Internet connection ;)

  • Connectivity with AT & T-Motorola 3360 and Airport Extreme problems

Bought a new extreme-Airport (7.7.3) to replace my old AE after 9 years of service.  The installation procedure, but could not get the airport to connect with my modem (Motorola 3360).  Called at & T and they crossed put me the modem in Bridge mode and which seemed to work.  But only temporarily (about 5 hours).  Restart the modem and the airport was not working.  Troubleshooting I tried to plug my MacBook directly into the modem, but even the computer couldn't get an internet connection.  Another call to AT & T and they reconfigure the modem to their end.  After 90 minutes and try everything they could, they have finally admitted defeat and told me that they could not solve the problem.

However, after a fairly exhaustive search of this forum, seems to be two issues that many people is with Airport extreme.  One is that the modem (in this case a Motorola 3360) is perhaps not fully compatible with the airport.  The AT & T support person was not aware of this until I asked about it, so she did a quick search and was rather surprised to see that there is a lot of people having problems with the Motorola Modem.  She told me that they use no more Motorola modems but ship the 6200 of Netgear.  "All know issues?", I asked.  She sought and, to his surprise, even once, there was.

So, first question.  Does anyone know a modem that is compatible with the airport or use one that they had to limit problems with?

The second question prevailing seems to be with the IPv6 protocol.  Anyone know if there are problems with the AT & T IPv6 protocol and the most extreme airport?  I did not disable IPv6 yet to see if that helps.  I thought I'd ask here first.  Couldn't find anything on the AT & T site.

When I return from the road (great place to go to get away from technology) I will make a new round of full power of all the components and try Setup again from scratch.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Miss all know profanity.

    Thank you.

Any other relevant information: 6.3.1 the utility Airport, Airport Extreme 7.7.3, MacBook Pro running 10.8.4, modem Motorola 3360, AT & T high speed DSL, shoe size 11-1/2 wide.

When you have configured the 3360 as a 'bridge', this would mean that the AirPort Extreme should then be put in place to provide the PPPoE connection service. The airports are not known for their reliability in this type of installation... no matter the type of modem that you can select, so I drop this method as a connection option.

If you want to keep the 3360... and you have time to experiment... then you can set the 3360 to its original default settings and configure the router from the airport most convenient to connect using DHCP in router Mode of DHCP and NAT.  That will produce what is called a message Double NAT, but maybe it's not of concern on a simple home network, and Apple provides you with the option 'Ignore' the Double NAT, so the airport will display a green light instead a light orange blinking slow.

You need to try this configuration for a few days to see if the Double NAT will be a problem or not, because it is not possible to predict the effect of a Double NAT on a network... you have to test a few days see how things behave.  If this configuration works well, for you, then you can leave it as what.

Please note that I do not recommend this type of installation, just suggesting it as an option this work could , if you want to keep the 3360.

How Double NAT affect IPv6, I can't tell, since I did not use att for several years, and I'm not familiar with their implementation. On wired, IPv6 works fine on the airport with Comcast and Time Warner.  We can provide these parameters for you if want, but have no idea how well... (or if)... they will work with ATT.

If the installation of Double NAT does not work, your best option would be to go there and get a modem/router or gateway to ATT device and then set up the most convenient airport in Bridge Mode works correctly with the modem/router ATT.  You will turn on the routing of ATT function in this type of installation, but the airport can also produce a signal from the wireless network that you can use.  The modem/router ATT will also provide a wireless signal that you could use for guests, or disable the feature, if you do not need two wireless networks.

This may also be the best option if you want to configure IPv6 as IPv6 of ATT service must be compatible with the modems/routers and gateways.

How can I find the right driver for it?

I think I've tried all the drivers found on the site of toshiba without success.

    Who could help me?

    Phil

    Hello

I assume that you have installed the modem driver. Is this good?
On the European driver Toshiba page I can find 3 different modem drivers; Conexant, Toshiba and Motorola modem driver.
Check if you used the right method.

Also I recommend that you install the MS patches: KB835221 and KB888111

  • Modem router connection problems

    Hi all

I am replacing a belkin n600 with router linksys ea6350 router. The modem I have is a Motorola Surfboard SB6141. The belkin router connects perfectly to the modem, but when I try to connect the linksys router to the modem, the light on the router keeps blinking and will never get me connected to the internet. I even tried to connect the linksys router to the router belink when the belkin is connected to the modem. I still don't get any kind of service. Thought it was a bad router and it took for my current home to connect to my modem At & t and it worked very well and I was able to put everything in place. For some reason I don't know why the linksys connects very well with the modem at & t, but not the motorla modem and the ISP that I have in my apartment is Comcast. It does not any sense and I'm heading home in a few days and I really need this connected linksys router belkin router is just too slow. Please I need much help getting this linksys router to communicate correctly with the motorola modem. Also, I used both crossover and straight cable modem to see if that makes a difference and does none of this and I know use cross to connect to the router.

first of all, make sure that the port on your pc is enabled.  usually, if you enable wifi it disables the ethernet port.  before you turn off the modem and do a factory reset on the router into the RED reset button until the lights on the router are flashing.  Turn the power off and wait 10 seconds then plug it back.  During its initialization connect a straight cable between the pc and the router's lan port.  Also, connect a cat5e or cat6 from the wan port on the router to the modem.  wait until the router finishes starting, and if she opens a browser in itself and then open a browser (ie to try) and put 192.168.1.1 in the address bar.  You should get a connection.  Let the empty user and enter "admin" for the password.  Or if it opens the programme of assistance to load the router you can follow if you wish.  This should get you.

  • New modem, new problem for router E1200

I replaced my broken with a new 3360 such Motorola modem recommended by my ISP.  The new works modem connected directly to my PC.  When the connection from the modem to the router Cisco E1200, the same one I had with the older modem, the E1200 says that I am not connected to the computer.  I have triple checked the wire connections of the modem to the router and then to the PC.  I swapped the cables and checked that they work all when it is used directly from the modem to the computer.  I think that some parameters of the old modem Westell are messing around with the new router E1200 connectivity.  I'm not a computer expert so please explain in simple terms.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Zee29...   You get an A + for your quick response and help.  It worked like a charm.  After holding the button reset for a total of thirty seconds and then unplug for 30 seconds, I used the original disc of Cisco and he went through the correct installation.  Thanks again.  David.

  • WRT160N: Cable Modem data light still flashes

I bought and connect my new WRT160N to my new 30Mbs Ultra Vidéotron high-speed Internet service.  Everything is good except that data on the Motorola Modem Videotron's light is still orange flashing even when all connected PCs are stop.  This does not happen when I remove the Linksys router connection and connect my PC to the modem.  Agents tested Videotron connection and say everything is good at their end and the problem is with the Linksys router V3.0.02.  Thank you in advance,

Most cable modems have a marked cable or data or D/Sled, which indicates the arrival of data from the cable network. Some users get scared that this LED flashes even when their PC is nothing or is turned off.  There is no need to worry: some data essential (DHCP and ARP protocols) is broadcast in wired network and happens to each cable modem if your PC needs or not. You worry that someone is trying to hack your PC simply because the data light blinks.

  • No Internet via WRT320N

    Need help.

I use Mac OS x 10.6.5 on my MacBookPro.

Started using WRT320N a few months ago as a wireless router for my printer, laptop and connected via an ethernet cable to a Motorola Surfboard SB5100 for internet. Everything was fine until this morning. Now, I can always connect to the network wireless BUT not able to surf Safari or Firefox.

    I've tried several things:

    a. connect the laptop directly ethernet cable and for the Motorola Surfboard. I have internet.

    b. sending PDFs to print in wireless network wireless (WRT320N). It prints very well.

    c. restart WRT320N and Motorla Surfboard and then try to access wireless. Still NO internet.

The lamps on the WRT320N are all blue and stable.

Can someone please advise what I can do to get the internet back again wireless through WRT320N.

    Thank you in advance.

Let your Motorola Surfboard be connected to the router on the Internet Port and then wired your MAC computer to the Linksys router and check if you are able to access the internet on your computer or not?

Connect to the Setup page of your router and on the tab of configuration click the sub-tab "Clone MAC address" and then activate and then click on 'Clone MAC from my PC' and click on save settings...

Once done, now you can unplug the power to the router and modem, wait 30 seconds and then connect first to a Modem and power when all the lights are cover on your Modem and you can connect the power supply to the Linksys router. Now, you can check if you are able to go online or not.
