mouse is erratic or choppy

I have a MS with the latest WIN7 drivers wireless keyboard/mouse but is erratic & jerks in use.

I had continuous problems with my Wireless 5000 keyboard and mouse I bought a week ago.  I discovered that it was because the USB connectivity was poor, because I had plugged in the back of the desktop computer that is in a cupboard under my work/Office position.  Once I bought an extension USB, THAT connected to the back of the desktop computer and put the actual USB on the set with the keyboard and mouse with which he came, I will have no more problems with the jerks of the mouse or keyboard does not.

  • the ToolTip that fleet upward when you hover over a link with a mouse works erratically if said the link is in the lower left corner of web page

So the title says pretty much everything that, but I would stay again.

There is a small balloon that floats to the top in the lower left corner of the browser window when you hover over a link on a page with a mouse. The address of the link leads, indicates in the ToolTip.
However, if the link in question is in the lower left corner of the Web page, the ToolTip floats high above right. Then he disappears to reappear a few milliseconds later. This blinking persists; You can neither do address or click on the link. By pressing several times shows RMB RMB menu for the link, which finally allows you to copy the link location and paste it into the address bar.

Try disabling the Redirect Remover extension if you have. Disabling this extension worked for me which allows the address bar that appears at the bottom left when you move to a link to the right in certain situations.

    Hi PaulNord,

I guess your operating system is windows XP, and if this is the case, additional software is required for your device works properly. If you haven't already done so, you can visit your device home page in the link below to download and install the appropriate drivers.

When I turn off my connection wireless internet everything works ok again.

Hi..., in view of the foregoing, the first step might be to do a restore of the system to the restore point created before the updates were installed. First temporarily disable "' automatic updates in Control Panel" "System and security" - Tour Auto update or disable. Then do the restore and see if the mouse/keyboard etc. to behave normally again.

(This may be a driver on the issue and updates may have caused a problem because the driver has not been updated. You must visit the service for the manufacturer of your pc see if this should do).

Let us know the results of the restoration and we will take it from there... If necessary to reinstall updates one at a time to see if can be isolated.

  • Mouse works erratically

I have a Microsoft wireless optical mouse and a home premium windows 7 64-bit OS and a dell inspiron desktop 580.   The mouse works perfectly on my laptop.  But does not work with all clicks on my desk.  I have to click 3 or 4 times to get something to remember.  I also had a Logitech mouse which also had the same behavior on the desktop.   I got the wireless in a hub adapter - then spent at one of the ports on the central computer, then to a second way mainframe - same behavior.  I got this pc 4 years and up to what a month ago never had a problem.

Any thoughts on how I might be able to solve this problem?  Thank you.

It is probably a problem with the configuration of the wireless mouse.  Get a wired mouse and see if the problem is replicated.  I bet that's not.

Wireless mice/keyboards are often problematic.  Battery and everything that goes with it.  Also a radio transmission of very low-power mouse at the hub, they rely on.  That the wireless transmission is easily disrupted by other sources of signals.  Try to reposition the mouse and/or the hub.  Replace the batteries.  Re-install the software.

It is highly unlikely that this is caused by your computer.

The problem I see is that the keyboard and mouse misbehave / erratic from the host machine. It is a multimedia keyboard 1.1 Microsoft wireless

    There are essentially two problems:

    (1) dedicated cursor keys / pageup / to / home / delete do not work properly. For example, PageUp wants to take a screenshot.

    (2) the mouse seems slow to recognize clicks / trolling. For example, if I click on a tab in Firefox and move immediately, the tab starts to drag. Even if I click on an image and then move the mouse - drag is initiated.

I tried several combinations of keyboard layout in the case of Ubuntu comments does not. No problems of this nature in the host, or an instance of XP comments.

  • V15.3.17 Syaptics PS/2 Port ClickPad

    Hello

I have a laptop PC Envy 15, and scrolling (Syaptics PS/2 Port ClickPad) of the mouse is erratic at best. This is the case for two scrolling or one finger. Sometimes it works fine at other times I have to tap or wait or just keep doing both until I start to scroll. I tried the settings but nothing seems to work. It's very frustrating for such a high machine range having such a basic feature will not work smoothly without having to go through so many somesaults. Any suggestions? Is there a driver updeated easily accessible? My driver is v15.3.17.

    Thanks in advance,

    Ben

There is a new 15.3.29 driver. The problem seems to be resolved. It was more obvious on Web pages.

  • XPS One A2420 64-bit driver

I have an A2420 a XPS with Nvidia GeForce 9600 M GT. I tried to install Vista and Windows 7 64 - bit Os on this machine. The only problem I have is the video driver for the Nvidia card. I tried the Nvidia 64 bit driver for this card from Nvidia, but I get the error "cannot install due to hardware not recognized." Microsoft update downloads as a 64-bit driver and it installs. The problem is that in Windows 7, the video screen goes black every two minutes and a message appears saying that the card was insensitive and the operating system is healed. In addition, the mouse is erratic. This became very aggravating since I contacted the support technique dell several times and they assured me that this system would be in charge of Windows 7 64 bit and all drivers would be available. Someone at - it had the same problem and resolved it? If so, how.

Thought I would add a comment to this topic, as it's the only one I found sound advice for this problem of video on the XPS One (thanks Rajer74). Mine is the A2420, but I would not be surprised if other models have been affected.

My problem actually started after the upgrade video via windows update drivers when I still had the original Vista 32 bit installed. Thought it was vista because it is this rubbish a BONE, so upgraded to Windows 7 32bitt in the free upgrade to Dell - same problem. I tried 64 bit in desperation - no change.

    Symptoms-

    • An intermittent cutting of the screen
    • Occasional breaks / crashes/freezes mouse who then thaw
    • System freezes requiring a reset
    • Error message after the recovery of black screen - something about kernel flaw (unfortunately, I deleted my screenshot so do not have the exact wording)
    • problem with one driver other than windows standard VGA driver or original (very old) 32-bit vista driver (on the Dell installation disk).

If you have any of these symptoms, it is not a fault of driver - there is a problem with your nVidia video card and it must be replaced.

If your card works fine, Windows Vista 32-bit, Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7 will correctly identify the card as a GeForce 9600 M and install correct nVidia drivers. Drivers available through windows update are also correct and will work properly.  (Note that I have not been able to get the driver packs downloaded directly from the nVidia site to install, but I didn't spend much time on what Windows Update drivers are very well).

It took me forever to resolve this issue with Dell. Their support based system check means that I ended up having to wipe my HD, re - install vista 32 bit original and go throught he process everything again before the tech would believe that the problem was not the driver 64 bits (or lack thereof). I know that their system is set up to accommodate the lowest common denominator of PC savvy-ness, but they really need to simplify things for those of us who have a little idea of what's going on. I had already tried all the tech then passed around again. Spent hours on the phone with him the wretch machine remote control.

It is interesting material technology who arrived to replace the card took a look at the screenshot, I got the error and immediately said oh - "it's a problem with the card. His opinion is that, even if nVidia chips graphics excellent, they often have manufacturing problems that they are slow to own up to and difficulty. This isn't the only dell system that suffers from dodgy nVidia chips.

For the record, the Dell XPS One A2420 works perfectly with Windows 7 64 bit. Drivers are available for all standard material in the machine. Also, if you got the Win 7 32 bit free update, your also activation code will work with Win 7 64 bit, I just borrowed disc one friend (even if retail Win 7 packs have 32 and 64-bit included, upgrade of Dell has only 32 bit). I installed on a clean hard disk, you do not need to upgrade Vista despite some odd warnings of M$ who install a cleaning may not work because this is only an upgrade license. In fact, I highly recommend get rid you of all traces of Vista and do a clean install. My machine works much better on Win7 64 bit.

    Hope that helps!
