Mouse & keyboard does not not after waking from sleep

This problem started about 6 weeks ago, and I've exhausted all remedies except that maybe a Win update caused the problem with updates of November.  It only would be not the first time a Win update caused a problem.

I am running Win 7 Professional 64 bit, 3.4 processor concert image, 16 gig RAM and 24 concert page file.  This occurs only when everyone is connected and puts the computer in "sleep mode" all connected, and that includes letting go the computer in mode 'sleep' a timed framework, or by using the command Win to sleep or Sleep.com.  It does not occur when you cold start, warm boot, or log off and then put the computer in standby mode, and that includes using the key on the keyboard, programmed to the Sleep.com or Win command.  In these cases, everything works fine even wake up the computer when it is disconnected.

If I put the computer in mode 'sleep' while connected and then when I press a key or move the mouse, the computer will wake up and I get the login screen since I'm protected by Word.  The lights on the keyboard light (wired 4000 natural ergonomic keyboard) and the light on the background lights of the mouse (Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000) so I know the two USB ports are powered.  However, when you press any of the keyboard to type in my password, it does not display what I typed and the mouse cursor does not move. Both are totally insensitive.

Short reboot, the only is to unplug the USB cable from the keyboard as well and the mouse receiver, wait 10 seconds, then reinsert them.  When I do that, everything works as it should.  It is a pain in the back since both are on the back of the computer.

I tried using different USB ports, mouse & keyboard Centre of the reinstalled several times, checked all drivers, run ' sfc.exe/scannow"which doesn't show any problems with the system files and Device Manager has assured times checked to allow them to turn on the computer and made sure any setting relevant to the USB ports or peripheral interface that have the option to"Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"are disabled.

This is of course only related to someone to be connected, because it works very well when that I disconnect.  This tells me that's not the BIOS, as suggested by older discussions.  If it was the BIOS, then there is a problem when you do a cold or warm boot.  Also, I have the BIOS configured to recognize all USB devices when starting and not only ports keyboard or mouse.  The reason for this setting must be my hard drive to backup (USB 3.0) available at startup.  I checked everything I can think in the registry and can't find anything that could cause this.  I have hibernate off (never use it and it uses 10 GB of disk space for the file), and the implementation of the options for "USB selective suspend setting" is set to off.

My solution is as follows: I disconnect, and then put the computer on "standby".  When ready again, I have simply to move the mouse, type my password, and Windows opens with the mouse and the keyboard works as it should.  It takes a little longer to wake the computer if it was put in mode 'sleep' when you are connected with the exception of the time and the hassle of having to unplug the mouse & keyboard, but I don't have to jump through that hoop to make it work.  Up to 6 weeks ago that this computer was fine with the same exact material because there now.  In the night, I just put it in "sleep" mode when connected from the computer has a task in Task Scheduler that wakes up the computer by running the insomnia (to keep him awake for backup) and backup programs runs, then shuts down the computer when finished.  This works because I do not use the keyboard or the mouse as I SLEEP.

I would be grateful for any suggestions!  I'm a user for more than thirty years (even go back to the PMO for those of you who know what it was), built my own computers for years, so I can handle everything that needs to be changed.  It intrigued me, and I don't have very often coming up with computers.

PROBLEM SOLVED!

I thank very you much for working with me and remember to do things.  Sometimes techies like us, as they say, 'can't see the forest for the trees' If you know what I mean.  It's like the authors of the software manual do sometimes in that they assume you already know the steps has a B, and they begin to step C.  Sometimes it is more obvious that we see because we are looking for something more complicated.

I had already tried another keyboard and a mouse, and I thought some time ago, I did a clean boot, because I know that can open the door and where is the problem.  If I did, I forgot or did not find the problem.

I apologize for him accusing Microsoft of having caused the problem with an update, but I've had this happen before and thought that it had happened again.  It turns out that it was a software problem, but not here where I thought it was.

After doing a clean boot and noting that the computer and the mouse worked after the return of the mode 'sleep' with a clean boot, I knew there must be something to load into memory and showing in the notification area.  The only things I had done in the six weeks was to add a quick Weather Channel.com Weather app and I had exchanged and received my new SkyCaddie.  It is a portable device that shows the yardage, etc. on the golf course.  The SkyCaddie uses a program called CaddieSync Express that allows the device to communicate with the web site to download updates of the course, the software updates, etc. scores.  The version of the program used on my old unit had a problem after I unplugged in that when you open Internet Explore nothing would show - no communication with the web.  I had to sign out and then sign back in and then fix it every time.  It seems that in this new version the problem has been resolved, but they have created a new.

By default, the program loads into memory and the icon appears in the notification area.  When you connect the SkyCaddie using its USB cable, the program recognizes and prepares to synchronize.  The problem with this new version, is that even if you do not use the synchronization program, this is what prevents the keyboard and the mouse works correctly.  It must focus on a USB hub even if you do not use.  The solution was to go to the configuration of the system to prevent this program from loading at startup, it placing a shortcut on the desktop and then clicking this shortcut to load the program prior to attaching the SGX.  I then let him do his thing, and when it's over and I disconnect the SkyCaddie from the USB port, I close the CaddieSync Express icon. and then when I put the computer to sleep and then wake it up, the keyboard and mouse work fine.

I knew that I had installed the new CaddieSync Express all the time, this problem started, but I never thought about it because he had never caused this problem before the cause of the problem.  Trust me, they will receive a call from me tomorrow so that I can tell them that the problem they cause.  Remember what I said in the first paragraph.  They would not yet be aware of the problem, and maybe after I speak with people of their software, they'll send an email informing the owners of this problem until they get it fixed.

Now, since systems vary so much, including how are managed USB hubs, this can occur only in rare cases.  I came just to be one of these.

Thanks again!  Perhaps some of these other people who have posted in the forum who had the question keyboard & mouse will read this thread and it will help them solve their problem.

If you check the Toshiba document you would see that your Satellite P300 is not related to this issue.

In your case I would recommend upgrading the BIOS and graphics driver.
In addition to keep your operating system up-to-date.

I had this problem under Win XP and a MS patch and an update of the graphics card driver helped solve this problem.

  • Satellite T110 - Defective Bluetooth after waking from sleep

SATELLITE T110 Bluetooth will fail after awakening from sleep.
The icon will be flick between white and green as he seeks my device (phone).

I ve reduced the problem to the laptop, because if I try to pair again phone to the laptop it fails. It's almost like he has a block?

Operate as planned, then I have to charge fully.
    Bluetooth connects then as planned.

It only became a problem because I installed the latest BIOS v 2.40
    I use the 64-bit Version.

When the problem occurs I run the Bluetooth Diagnostics and it comes back as fine no error reported. It s a pain now because I use the laptop mode "sleep" more off.

This is due to the new update of the bios.

Can you after waking from sleep just restart BT stack and try to connect to the mobile phone?
You mean that with the old version of the BIOS, everything was OK?

Last question: what was the reason for the update of the BIOS? I hope not the fact you want to have the latest version.

  • Desktop computer does not display the computers on the network after waking from sleep.

Both computers work on Vista Home Basic. Problem started after computers, the router and a DSL modem has been turned off and unplugged. After the awakening of the day before, the Office would display only the router and the laptop, but the way that he could not establish. Initially, a reboot of the desktop computer has solved the problem.

Reset and re-installed the router. The three elements of the network were visible after the start, but IE 8 soon at the opening of the homepage. Again, after "standby" mode, only the router and the laptop displayed.

After additional restart, only the router is displayed. The laptop shows all three elements and accessing office files.

    Suggestions?

    Hi Syed,

I did a full reset/reinstall the router, carefully following the manufacturer's instructions. Both computers are displayed in each of their respective lists of network, even after waking up from sleep mode.

  • Windows 7 password problem: does not recognize password after waking from sleep

So I have recently buy a netbook with Windows 7 operating system. I create the administrator account and password protect. All right, install software, copy documents, etc. in the "My Documents" folder and happily use the machine for a few days with no problems. Then work off the battery voltage, put the PC in sleep for some time. When I try and log back in after the awakening of the PC, it does not recognize the password. Try with cap locks, off and all the rest, but not luck. I must finally remove the battery and restart. Sign in as normal (the password is recognized) and go in the user administrator account to disable the password, but then again, the current password is not recognized and I am not allowed to make changes. However, I can still close and log on by using the current password. Confused. Anyine have any ideas?

There is no need to remove the battery or pull the taken when force a PC to stop. By pressing the power button for about ten seconds will do the trick.

Your password problem: you might be dealing with a foreign keyboard problem. Make the password to something that is independent of the keyboard configuration, for example 123456.

To reset the administrator password, follow these steps:
    1. click on start.
    2. type the three letters cmd in the search box.
    3. press on Ctrl + Shift + Enter
    4. click on "run as Administrator".
    5. type the following commands and press ENTER after each:
    net localgroup administrators
(This will show you the accounts that have administrative privileges. What is?)
    NET user administrator 123456
(This will set the password to 123456)

I took a peek in the Device Manager, while the touch screen did not work and I don't see under User Interface devices, I have a HID I2C device that has a yellow warning sign. Someone at - it information on how to solve this problem?

I had already tried to upgrade the Synaptics drivers and it does not solve the problem.

I noticed several times that when I wake the PC from sleep that Google Talk would be stuck with about 40% of the use of processer according to the Task Manager. I usually just close and re - open Google talk and he would not stuck using the processor.

A couple of days ago I closed Google Talk and did not restart the program, during the last 2 days I didn't only once when the touch screen has been non-responsive after waking up from his sleep.

I've said before, but I had a similar problem with the rotation sensor, after waking up from his sleep, he would be intermittenetly does not work and I could also see in Device Manager that another I2C HID device was a code 43 error. Also since the closing of google talk, I didn't freeze the rotation sensor.

Like I said its only been a couple of days, so it can always happen, but 2 days is the longest I can remember never go without this problem.

mfhengst, you have google talk installed on your laptop?

  • Satellite L40-139: new graphics driver is causing the problem after waking from sleep

I have a three month old Toshiba Satellite L40-139 (PSL40E) with 1 GB of RAM with Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium pre-installed. This laptop worked very well for me for the basic headquarters far tasks, and I would have no problem recommending.

In the last days I've updated the software and drivers from the Microsoft Update web site.

Since the update driver Mobile Intel(r) 945 Express Chipset Family (to version 7.14.10.1350, dated October 18, 2007), the screen resolution at 800 x 600 after awakening from the sleep state. The only way I found to fix it is to restart the PC.

Other articles published on the web, I understand that this particular driver (Mobile Intel(r) 945 Express Chipset Family driver 7.14.10.1350 version) has caused many other problems on a variety of hardware and software platforms.

Does anyone have a definitive solution for Satellite L40?

    I looked at four options.

    1. let the new installed driver and restart Windows each time after waking up from sleep mode. Rather, I must not do this.

    2. using the Restore Point created by Windows Update before the update of the driver, roll back to an earlier time. This seems to be a good course if it works.

3 download an older version of the driver and reinstall it. I don't know which version would work but note that others have had success with the 7.14.10.1280 version. I guess a similar version could be included in the driver Package that can be downloaded from Toshiba Europe site, but have heard that the time required to download this software can exceed ten hours and am therefore reluctant to try.

    4. the fourth option is not really possible. I should be able to "Roll-Back" the driver in Device Manager, but the button is disabled.

Although only a minor problem, it is very irritating and I would like to address them without causing other problems. Does anyone else have this problem? Someone has fixed it successfully?

    Hello Peter

If I understand correctly, you use your usual laptop for daily work and you don't need any computer high-performance notebook. If I'm right I have to say that you should be happy if the laptop works well and stable.

I don't really see any reason why you wanted to update chipset driver. In any case, you should try to roll back the BONES of time earlier and I hope everything will work again. There is absolutely no risk, and you can test it.

    Please post the result.
