Mouse/keyboard does not respond, system hangs

I have a Touchsmart IQ816.  Sometimes the mouse and the wireless keyboard are block and the system seems to hang.  I see the blue light that comes when I type or move the mouse is turned on and will not turn off.  The touch screen sounds like I'm not the touch, but nothing happens on the screen.

I don't know if the lock to the top is locked wireless receiver and nothing works on the screen because there is no entry or if the system itself is locked.

Someone at - it ideas?

Thank you all very much for your time.

    Hello

I have a problem that is driving me crazy.

What makes strange, is that an external keyboard is recognized but the mirrors one internal.

And what should happen on this stage?

For me, this looks like a problem with your startup disk.
I installed OS using different disks of Microsoft or USB recovery media and all you have to do is click on most of the time on the button NEXT.

If the keyboard works in BIOS and Windows, I see no problem with the keyboard there.

  • Mouse & keyboard does not not after waking from sleep

This problem started about 6 weeks ago, and I've exhausted all remedies except that maybe a Win update caused the problem with updates of November.  It only would be not the first time a Win update caused a problem.

I am running Win 7 Professional 64 bit, 3.4 processor concert image, 16 gig RAM and 24 concert page file.  This occurs only when everyone is connected and puts the computer in "sleep mode" all connected, and that includes letting go the computer in mode 'sleep' a timed framework, or by using the command Win to sleep or Sleep.com.  It does not occur when you cold start, warm boot, or log off and then put the computer in standby mode, and that includes using the key on the keyboard, programmed to the Sleep.com or Win command.  In these cases, everything works fine even wake up the computer when it is disconnected.

If I put the computer in mode 'sleep' while connected and then when I press a key or move the mouse, the computer will wake up and I get the login screen since I'm protected by Word.  The lights on the keyboard light (wired 4000 natural ergonomic keyboard) and the light on the background lights of the mouse (Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000) so I know the two USB ports are powered.  However, when you press any of the keyboard to type in my password, it does not display what I typed and the mouse cursor does not move. Both are totally insensitive.

Short reboot, the only is to unplug the USB cable from the keyboard as well and the mouse receiver, wait 10 seconds, then reinsert them.  When I do that, everything works as it should.  It is a pain in the back since both are on the back of the computer.

I tried using different USB ports, mouse & keyboard Centre of the reinstalled several times, checked all drivers, run ' sfc.exe/scannow"which doesn't show any problems with the system files and Device Manager has assured times checked to allow them to turn on the computer and made sure any setting relevant to the USB ports or peripheral interface that have the option to"Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"are disabled.

This is of course only related to someone to be connected, because it works very well when that I disconnect.  This tells me that's not the BIOS, as suggested by older discussions.  If it was the BIOS, then there is a problem when you do a cold or warm boot.  Also, I have the BIOS configured to recognize all USB devices when starting and not only ports keyboard or mouse.  The reason for this setting must be my hard drive to backup (USB 3.0) available at startup.  I checked everything I can think in the registry and can't find anything that could cause this.  I have hibernate off (never use it and it uses 10 GB of disk space for the file), and the implementation of the options for "USB selective suspend setting" is set to off.

My solution is as follows: I disconnect, and then put the computer on "standby".  When ready again, I have simply to move the mouse, type my password, and Windows opens with the mouse and the keyboard works as it should.  It takes a little longer to wake the computer if it was put in mode 'sleep' when you are connected with the exception of the time and the hassle of having to unplug the mouse & keyboard, but I don't have to jump through that hoop to make it work.  Up to 6 weeks ago that this computer was fine with the same exact material because there now.  In the night, I just put it in "sleep" mode when connected from the computer has a task in Task Scheduler that wakes up the computer by running the insomnia (to keep him awake for backup) and backup programs runs, then shuts down the computer when finished.  This works because I do not use the keyboard or the mouse as I SLEEP.

I would be grateful for any suggestions!  I'm a user for more than thirty years (even go back to the PMO for those of you who know what it was), built my own computers for years, so I can handle everything that needs to be changed.  It intrigued me, and I don't have very often coming up with computers.

    PROBLEM SOLVED!

I thank very you much for working with me and remember to do things.  Sometimes techies like us, as they say, 'can't see the forest for the trees' If you know what I mean.  It's like the authors of the software manual do sometimes in that they assume you already know the steps has a B, and they begin to step C.  Sometimes it is more obvious that we see because we are looking for something more complicated.

I had already tried another keyboard and a mouse, and I thought some time ago, I did a clean boot, because I know that can open the door and where is the problem.  If I did, I forgot or did not find the problem.

I apologize for him accusing Microsoft of having caused the problem with an update, but I've had this happen before and thought that it had happened again.  It turns out that it was a software problem, but not here where I thought it was.

After doing a clean boot and noting that the computer and the mouse worked after the return of the mode 'sleep' with a clean boot, I knew there must be something to load into memory and showing in the notification area.  The only things I had done in the six weeks was to add a quick Weather Channel.com Weather app and I had exchanged and received my new SkyCaddie.  It is a portable device that shows the yardage, etc. on the golf course.  The SkyCaddie uses a program called CaddieSync Express that allows the device to communicate with the web site to download updates of the course, the software updates, etc. scores.  The version of the program used on my old unit had a problem after I unplugged in that when you open Internet Explore nothing would show - no communication with the web.  I had to sign out and then sign back in and then fix it every time.  It seems that in this new version the problem has been resolved, but they have created a new.

By default, the program loads into memory and the icon appears in the notification area.  When you connect the SkyCaddie using its USB cable, the program recognizes and prepares to synchronize.  The problem with this new version, is that even if you do not use the synchronization program, this is what prevents the keyboard and the mouse works correctly.  It must focus on a USB hub even if you do not use.  The solution was to go to the configuration of the system to prevent this program from loading at startup, it placing a shortcut on the desktop and then clicking this shortcut to load the program prior to attaching the SGX.  I then let him do his thing, and when it's over and I disconnect the SkyCaddie from the USB port, I close the CaddieSync Express icon. and then when I put the computer to sleep and then wake it up, the keyboard and mouse work fine.

I knew that I had installed the new CaddieSync Express all the time, this problem started, but I never thought about it because he had never caused this problem before the cause of the problem.  Trust me, they will receive a call from me tomorrow so that I can tell them that the problem they cause.  Remember what I said in the first paragraph.  They would not yet be aware of the problem, and maybe after I speak with people of their software, they'll send an email informing the owners of this problem until they get it fixed.

Now, since systems vary so much, including how are managed USB hubs, this can occur only in rare cases.  I came just to be one of these.

Thanks again!  Perhaps some of these other people who have posted in the forum who had the question keyboard & mouse will read this thread and it will help them solve their problem.

  • BlackBerry smartphone 8330 keyboard does not respond

A few days ago, my keyboard has become totally insensitive. There is no damage from moisture and as far as I know there has been no drops or bumps or anything which could damage the phone.
Move the ball of command displays the cursor moving over different icons, but pressing the trackball to select them does nothing. When someone calls me the phone will ring and display calling you, but I can't respond because the keyboard does not work.
Does anyone know if this is something I can fix on my own?

What did you do to solve the problem so far?

    Tried the basic battery pull?

Remplacer replace after one minute, let the device reboot 1-3 min, see if the problem is corrected.

  • Windows Loader CV stuck keyboard does not respond

    Hello

I'm completely stumped.  Windows randomly crashes after sleeping and it's Windows resume Loader but the keyboard or the mouse (and apparently all USB) is completely insensitive.  I tried the normal F8, pull on the plug returned to zero and nothing and all the standard stuff.  My computer is new and does not have a PS2 plug so I can't use a PS2 Keyboard to enter the BIOS.

Someone at - it works all about where advice or I'm completely screwed?  BTW - the computer is entirely new, that I literally spend a few thousand about 3 months so I'm bummed to make it happen.  I feel like it's karma for not going with a Mac.

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Hello

Thanks for the tips.  In fact, I called Dell and it repairs it for free under warranty so I held all the corrections until the technology is out.

They replaced the motherboard and the guy said that he had never seen this problem.  I used an apple with the Dell computer keyboard, but we both don't think that was the issue.  In fact, it was a stroke of luck, but the replacement of the motherboard worked.

Thanks for your help and I hope this helps someone in the future.

  • Satellite P845-Canada-BKS keyboard does not respond

    Hello!
I have some problems with the keyboard. He responds very slowly

Some keys are not like pressed.
If I push harder the situation is the same.

He said we should get used to the keyboard.
    And re-install Windows.
But I have the same problems.

    Can we have some advice?

Reaction slow keyboard typing may be reason for HARD drive busy. Is the HARD drive is in use when this happens?
Maybe some measures, like Windows update runs in the background and there is reaction slow keyboard.

It worked flawlessly with OSX Snow Leopard and Vista Business on a Fujitsu hard drive.

  • Keyboard does not respond during the restart on Pavilion dv6

When I restart my laptop and click "esc" - that works - I can not choose any option because my keyboard is unresponsive and I cannot click on the arrows and the Fs. I want to format my HD and reinstall Windows and there is no way I can do this. BIOS is also inaccessible. It could be linked to the issue of the famous 'sticky ctrl' which also remains unanswered for so long. In my view, that it is a major problem which requires attention. Thank you!

External keyboard did not solve the problem, and before ask you, I tried all possible software solutions that could hardly be connected with this problem.

The left 'ctrl' key was really physically stuck. Very annoying for a new laptop. Again, brand new, I bought it the day of my original post! I removed the key and everything is perfect, except the key itself ofc.

I suggest to all of you who have "sticky ctrl" to consider this weird option also. I'm so disappointed!

I have to buy a new keyboard for my laptop, but the thing is that I have a touch of Spanish/catalan and I currently live in the UK.

Any advice? Try to order a keyboard of Spain and send it here might be an option? But where can I get a Spanish keyboard?

Thank you very much in advance.

    > I asked TOSHIBA technical support and they say that it is a physical problem rather than electronics. What do you think?

Well, seems that you need to replace this part
Usually it s not really complicated to get the keyboard replaced so you can order a compatible keyboard a

ASP from Toshiba in the United Kingdom and could replace it, but of course, if you think it's too complicated, then I recommend you ask a technician for help. I think that the ASP to the United Kingdom should be able to provide a keyboard with layout in Spanish

  • Someone at - he found the keyboard does not respond when you try to navigate the menus on calls?

I tried to enter a password and navigate the menus to join a telephone conference today and found the keyboard is unresponsive and have the screen go black while trying to press the keys. Can we say boring! Anyone else experienced this?

Is it possible that you put your hand over the proximity sensor (top-right on the left part of the phone) during the call, causing it to go black? Try to put the speaker call after it connects like that allows you to disable the proximity sensor.
