Mouse not working not

Hey

I have a HP mouse which was working perfectly yesterday. I then decided to open the computer and see inside the RAM for an upgrade, so I unplugged everything. Then I went and plugged everything back in and the mouse did not work. However, the base of the mouse is red but when I move it nothing happens. Operating system is Windows Vista and the brand of mouse is that I do not know.

Interesting. I wonder if something happened with his key in the registry. You can try your mouse on your MOM's computer? If it works in the PC of your MOM, then this is definitely a matter of setting/registry on your PC.

Since the upgrade to the latest version of El Capitan, I have a problem with my mouse and my Trackpad 2. The trackpad does not at all even though it is connected and bluetooth works. The mouse jumps around on the screen and it is difficult to land on the site I want.

If the mouse you mention is a Magic Mouse 1, which is probably the reason why.   Magic mouse 1 works up to a point, but you need Magic Mouse 2 for maximum effect, once you have upgraded to El Capitan.  I would add, with new OS on the horizon (Sierra), your need for MM2 becomes even more pressing.

    Good evening

    > We tried the system restore but no luck either.

By restoring the system you mean the recovery procedure?
Have you used the Toshiba or Toshiba HDD recovery recovery disk to put the laptop back to factory settings?

    > She tried an external mouse and I tried a different external mouse.
I m wondering about this question, I assume that you have connected a USB mouse to this laptop, and you cannot move the cursor by using these external USB mouse.
    Is this right?

In my opinion, even if the touchpad wouldn't work or would be disabled, the external USB mouse should work because both devices are unrelated to each other.

  • wireless mouse not working not

I just bought a laptop of Hp Envy PC m6-n168ca m6 to replace my last Envy with a damaged operating system. I have a Microsoft 4000 wireless mobile mouse to use with it and I plugged it in the usb connector and installed automatically and apparently successfully. Unfortunately, the mouse is not recognized on the screen. It works on my other laptop so I know it isn't the mouse. This is my first laptop touchscreen but I wonder if it has something to do with it? The function of mouse trackpad works fine but I need to be able to use the touch pad and mouse. Is this possible? Is there something I need to enable/disable or turn off? I searched through all the help and control settings and can not find any useful information. just how to change settings click of mouse and stuff. Can someone help me with this?

  • Wireless mouse not working not when the games starts

I have a logitech LX6 wireless mouse and keyboard. They stand work very well in the main menu of Windows 7 and surf the Internet, how ever when I start a game (I tried WoW and SUP Commander) the mouse stoped working and everything I could do on the keyboard was out esc. Any ideas.

It's strange.  You have another mouse and recently pass to it?  Or have you had it for awhile and the mouse has started to act like that?

I could certainly go to the Web from Logitech site and see if there are any updated drivers for your mouse.  Also, make sure that you don't have another mouse plugged in at the same time playing these games.  I guess you do not, but sometimes a game will remember your previous settings of the mouse, and when you go play, he thinks that the mouse is always there.  So, you will need to uninstall and reinstall your games.  However, I would do that as a last resort.  If your mouse is new, you may contact support of Logitech to see if they know work around or solution.

    Hi Abhishek,

  • Start button on the taskbar, while opening with the mouse, but works using the touch screen does not

Windows icon on the taskbar does not bring up start page using the mouse, but will Touch. Clickable after the restart, but only for a couple of times?

    Hello

Please contact Microsoft Community. I understand that start button on the taskbar does not not at the opening with the mouse, it works but when touch use. I've surely you will help solve this problem.

To better understand the issue, I would need more information on your side.

    1. The problem occurs when you use another mouse?
    2. What is the number and the model of the computer and the mouse?
    3. Did you the latest changes on the computer before this problem?

This problem might have occurred because of these reasons:

    1. Missing updates of Windows and the device driver updates.
    2. Conflict between third-party applications.
    3. Corrupt system files.

Try the steps listed here and see if it helps:

    Method 1:

If the problem does not occur when you use another mouse, I suggest you to download and install all Windows Update available including optional updates. You can also install the last mouse driver\Software from mouse manufacturer website and check if it helps.

    Method 2:
If the problem occurs when you use a different mouse, I suggest to start the computer using safe mode and check if the problem occurs or not. If this isn't the case, I suggest you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

    Step 1:
Start the computer in Mode safe. At the start of the computer Mode safe with the minimum set of drivers and files.

Start settings for Windows (including safe mode)
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-in/Windows-8/Windows-startup-settings-including-safe-mode

    Step 2:
If the issue happen not in Mode without failure, perform a clean boot and check. Setting the system in a clean boot state will help you determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135/en-us

Note: After the clean boot troubleshooting steps, see the "How to reset the computer to start as usual after a clean boot troubleshooting" section in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

    Method 3:

If the problem persists, I suggest you perform the Scan SFC (System File Checker) and check if it helps. SFC scan will search the system files corrupted on the computer and replace them.

Use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7 system files

Hope this information helps. Reply to the post with an up-to-date report of the issue so that we can help you further.

  • keyboard and mouse not working not properly after installing Windows 8.1

I was forced to upgrade my computer to Windows 8.1. My keyboard worked fine until the system is restarted. Numbers on the keyboard stopped typing and letters were capitalized when the caps lock was turned off and the numbers at the top will only type the symbol above the numbers.

I looked at this problem and it seems that I have to enter in the settings of the UEFI and disable the Intel XHCI mode. When I enter the settings of UEFI, I can't make any selection in the start menu. My keyboard and mouse stop working.

    Any suggestions?

Thanks for posting a reply. Fortunately, I didn't have to try your solution because the computer solve itself.
