    Hello PorterQuinn,

Thank you for posting.  You will need a 3rd party software program or conversion to convert .mov to another type of file that will be recognized by Movie maker.  There are a few conversion tools free availible.  You can use your favorite search engine to find some of them.

Please let me know if this helps you.

  • Video clip with file extension 3gpp converted to wmv but no audio in Windows Movie Maker

I have a video clip taken from a cell phone with file extension 3gpp.  I converted it to a wmv file using software downloaded using an XP operating system.

Thank you for your interest and your answer to my question.  I was actually able to do something with it that I managed to import a file to convert 3gpp in Windows Movie Maker.  Here's what I did as others who may have the same problem currently or in the future, try:

Initially, I converted a file video in a .wmv file 3gpp and tried to import the Windows Movie Maker.  The video is imported, but is not the audio.  I converted the same file video 3gpp in one file .avi and it imported into the Windows Movie Maker project that I did and it worked! The .avi video and audio imported and played without any problems.  Thanks again for your response.

  • How to move files from frostwire to msdia windows player music library

How can I move my music library of frostwire to windows media player so I can burn it to a disc?

    Hello

    1. what operating system is installed on the computer?
2 have you tried to move the music from frostwire to Windows Media Player files?
    3. What is the file extension or the format of the music files?

If you use Windows Media Player 12, it monitors your music library so that you don't have to manually add music to Windows Media Player to read.

To add a folder to the music library, simply right click on folder that you want to add, select include in library, and then select the library you want to add the file (in this case music).

Now, when you open Windows Media Player, it will look for this music folder and add it to the media library.

    Follow these steps:

Step 1: manually transfer music from Windows Media Player:
    a. open Windows Media Player.
    b. go to the drop down "File" menu and select "open".
    c. Select the music that you have downloaded from Frostwire.

Step 2: Configure Frostwire to transfer music automatically
    a. open the Frostwire application.
    b. click the "LimeWire" drop
    c. Select 'Préférences' from the menu. Another window will open, allowing you to browse the Frostwire preference different options.
    d. click on 'Save' to display the various options to save files once they have been downloaded from Frostwire.
    e. click the "Browse" button and locate your computer music folder used to store songs for your Media Player.
    f. highlight the folder that you want to put your Frostwire downloads to and click on the button 'open '. The window will close once your selection has been made.
    g. click "Apply" in the menu "Preferences". It stores any changes you have made.

  • DVD Maker changes every time that the file extensions?

Original title: dvd & movie maker whats up with these different files?

I download my video and saves it to a WMV file... then I edit in movie maker and he recorded as wmv, but at other times like a MSWMM file... then I try to publish it in movie maker and it records in a file wmv or sometimes msdvd... why he spends it saves and how this affects the burn process?... it will say 1 file could not be found many times... How can I get these two working smoothly? I have a 32 bit vista

    Hello

When you have finished working on a project, you can publish the project as a film. A film is a Windows Media file with a .wmv file name extension or file Audio-Video Interleaved (AVI) with an .avi file name extension.

Project Windows Movie Maker has an .mswmm file extension. For example, myProject.mswmm and the film has a .wmv or .avi file extension. For example Mymovie.WMV or Mymovie.avi.

Changes made to the file extension depending on the actions that you perform in Windows Movie Maker. Change file extensions should not affect the burning process unless the creation of DVD does not support the file format. If the file is not found, it means that the file type is not supported by DVD Maker.

  • Will Media Player Play a soundcards. MOV file?

How I can... or is - Windows Media Player can play a video file with the extension. MOV?  . I get the message that reads he does support the file and there may be a problem with the codec?  Any help is appreciated on how to get these files to read is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you very much.

    Paul

    Hi Paul,.

Welcome to the Microsoft Community and thanks for posting your question related to Windows Media Player.

You get an error "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The player might not support the file type or does not support the codec used to compress the file"during playback of video files with .mov extensions.

Windows Media Player 12 is the version of the drive supported on Windows 8. . MOV files are supported both on Windows Media Player. However, you seem to get this error.

The reason for this may be listed in this note here.

Apple Computer developed the QuickTime file format to create, edit, publish, and view multimedia files. QuickTime format can contain video, animation, graphics, 3D and virtual reality (VR) content. Only QuickTime version 2.0 or earlier files can be played in Windows Media Player. Later versions of QuickTime require the Apple QuickTime Player owner. For more information, visit the following Apple Web site:

    http://www.Apple.com/QuickTime

There are scenarios where installation right codecs have helped users to read files. You try to install codecs for Windows Media Player referring to the measures in these links.

  • Economy twice during an action as the same file extension possible with Photoshop without overwriting the first backup?

Hello, first time submit a question to the Adobe communities.

I would like to be able to record twice during an action with the same file extension; How is that possible? I tried a number of methods such as: save a JPEG as a copy, renaming jpeg in jpg format, adding a line to underscore the SMALL Word after it, etc., and it keeps overwriting my first recording. I'm still not recording "in copy" feature when saving a jpeg file. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. I think that if this box is not grayed out on my second record I would be able to add the copy at the end of my file name that would create my second jpeg.

I need this is because when I save the little and the big jpeg for our company store, I would just create an action that saves as two different sizes and then closes the file to move to another. The site on what I download is Four51 and they take a reorganization of the files, so a single method, I tried was to save the second time into action as a png but it makes it transparent and I need a white Uni.

Tried to go into the options and disabling transparency PNG but that only works with quick export that will not register within an action (even abroad). It is a dilemma for some time, and my only way to work around it is to create the action doesn't follow: resize to 300 px wide > save as Jpeg > end of action. I play action and hit the command option I have change my size to 100 px wide for the thumbnail, then click on control shift s to record success and right arrow to add details and then save, order q, tab, space.

If it makes no sense to anyone, I would be grateful for your advice. The only thing I can think that I have not tried is to change my background from transparent to white and then create this action: command option I have 300 px wide > order s (jpeg) > command option I have 100 px wide > command shift s (png) > w command

I guess the only way to change your default background to white instead of transparent is to create a new document and put in place without transparent background then go further, my new documents will have white backgrounds. Do not see under my preferences?

    Thank you

Something like the following action could work.

    A couple of notes:

Image adjustment is under file > Automate > Fit Image and resizes the image to fit the specified size.

For example, if you enter 300 in the two fields, photoshop resizes the longer side at 300 and the other dimension including the size proportionally as when you use Image > Image size to maintain Proportions checked.

Photoshop uses the copy to JPEG files if the image of your savings has one or more layers or is not 8-bit/channel, because do not support JPEGs of layers or say 16 bits/channel.

If you have only a background layer, then photoshop uses a copy when saving a jpeg file

Thus, during the recording of the action you probably want that one-step flatten so save the first does not include copy in the name.

To get the action record adding copy to name, open any image, add a layer, and then record save as jpeg for copy adds the jpeg save as step

Created the snapshot of the original image open, so the second resizing using the original instead of resizing the image already resized.

  • file extension best universal to use film?

Can you please indicate which movie file format would be preferable to reach the widest audience? We had a mp4, but seems more old Windows editions do not support playback of this 'new' format? (if I'm not mistaken)

MOV would be limited because it would force people to Windows to download Quicktime, correct? So, what should be? In this case is WMV - the best choice? Most of our users are Windows / PC base.

    Please advise, thank you!

Probably a MPEG2 file, with the extension .mpg, would be the most universal and still offer appropriate quality options.
