Moving 14.3 of TMS in the database SQL external - someone did he do?

After copying the SQL database on our existing MSDS database is there anything else I would do other than using the TMS to point to the new database of tools or is it?

I'm looking for someone who has done this kind of right move forward.

Thank you!

We did pretty well what you're asking, though slightly differently, as we moved from one external SQL Server to another... but the process is the same.

(1) stop the TMS/IIS services

(2) copy your database to the new server

(3) use the tools of TMS where from the TMS is looking.

(4) return to the MSD/IIS.

Is this possible in some form?

    < = 'name' datasource cfquery name = "dsn" >
    #query.sqlstatement # < / cfquery >

Yes, if you mean creating a query string, and then using them in a cfquery. Usually, you will need to place the text of the query in a PreserveSingleQuotes() function if you have settings that are placed in single quotes, something like this

    #PreserveSingleQuotes (sqlstatement) #.

I don't have the right backup to get it restored. While we have of any other alternative way to present this request to normal.

Sure it's not an orphan process esssvr or something hold you on files by creating a lock.

A simple way to find out is to stop all applications and check if you have a current esssvr process, if you kill the process and then try and start the application.

  • JumpStartKit installation hangs at 87% complete when creating the database / instance configuration

Hello people, I am wanting to evaluate Oracle WebCenter Portal 11.1.1.8 (huge improvement over 11.1.1.7, which I have already given a quick test in the VDI provided by Oracle).

So, I've discovered this Jump Start Kit that installs every needed part once you have a properly configured Linux environment. I had fun with the prereqs but now that everything is finished and I am so EXCITED to make it past 'STAGE 4 '.

So now, I encounter the same problem during installation - STEP 6 of 22 Configuration of the database Instance (creating database filling) it gets 87% complete and then nothing seems to happen, it never beyond this point, even if I wait 10 hours more:

    ***

NOTE: I think that my problem is not specific to the "Jump Start Kit", but is rather something others have met during the stage of creation/configuration of the Oracle Universal Installer in general database. And I hope that others have solved.

    ***

"/ opt/oracle/portal" is my INSTALL_DIR; I had started the installer of JSK with this command:

    . / runme INSTANCE_PASSWORD textile ROOT_PASSWORD = rpwd DOWNLOAD_DIR = = / media/sf_Downloads/JSKfiles INSTALL_DIR = / opt/oracle/portal

-L' installer makes this well before it seems to get "stuck" - even after many hours there is no change, HD does nothing, CPU stays at < 5% use:

I use VirtualBox on Windows 7, I tried several times, first with the OS as Oracle Linux 6, then Oracle Linux 5 (learning to update the version of Java of fun!).

It always happens at the same point, and then it just seems do nothing - no progress, but no error no message on the screen (see below the log files). But it seems to use less than 5%... the use of the processor and 10 hours of waiting makes no difference.

After that I got tons of Google to search, I tried increasing my paging file, adding more memory and disk space (12 GB of RAM and 10 GB sap) and 20 GB of free space on the hard disk, but still nothing has changed.

In post #2 of this thread, I'll give you separately the registration details that I hope will be useful.

    Thanks in advance!

    Darren.

PS: Moderator, I tried to create this thread in other spaces, because I did not know this 'Portal JSK' specific one, which is why my son was rejected? NO REASON WAS GIVEN. If that IS the reason why, I must say that it will be almost impossible for anyone who is able to help me actually FIND this thread here because as I said I don't think specific for ONLY JSK portal. (But I'll post it here just in case this is the reason for previous releases)

    Hey Darren -.

Installation with installation "office" is not the problem - no conflicting package it.

I did add a short and FULL in/etc/hosts domain name and use the HTTP_SERVER_NAME option.  (But again, that shouldn't cause any problems during dbca.)

I didn't install VBox extensions, since I'm just using a text installation (and created a corresponding configuration for VBox and vSphere), but I don't know that this is unrelated to all the.

Regarding packages, if the database installs fine (which did you), your packages may very well.

Here is my kickstart file - maybe you can try to use it, and then we can rule out configuration problems.  After the kickstart, everything I do is copy the installation files (in fact, I have them on a separate vmdk I just ride), and:

    (in oracle)

    CD/mnt/orainst/install & mkdir WCPortal_JSK_Linux.x 86-64 & WCPortal_JSK_Linux.x 86-64 cd & unzip /WCPortal_JSK_Linux.x86-64.zip...

    CD /mnt/orainst/install/WCPortal_JSK_Linux.x86-64 &. / runme DOWNLOAD_DIR = / mnt/orainst/installation INSTALL_DIR = / u01/app/oracle/product/webcenter HTTP_SERVER_NAME = wcportal.localdomain INSTANCE_PASSWORD = weblogic1 BIENVENUE1 = ROOT_PASSWORD

If you want to make a desktop installation, delete the text, skipx and office packages (I added a few comments around that part), and it should work fine.  Don't worry about VBox extensions until you have a JSK running successfully.

Fingers crossed it gets you more... Let me know.

  • Question about the database to use with ESX and Labmanager

    Hello

Finally my company is buying a permit for Labmanager and ESX server using Labmanager to our tests.

We had a question about the database that we use for the actual installation.

Could we use MY - SQL? Or that we have the olbigation to install a SQL or Oracle DB for the whole system to work?

We prefer to use MY_SQL because it is open-source and will cost less to use for us.

Thanks in advance for the answer and please excuse my bad English, I'm french spoke first.

    Montreal.

Lab Manager installs SQL Express as part of the installation and use. If you install also Virtual Center as part of your deployment of Lab Manager (do not use an existing VC server), you can use the database SQL Express is included for small installations of ESX, but MY SQL is not an option. You can search the databases supported in the installation guide for what version you deploy.

  • Inserting data in the form SQL database

I'm sure this question has been asked before, but during my research, I couldn't find an answer.

I have a field of file download a form where users can download a separator: excel file, which is inserted into the SQL tab. This method works correctly. In the same form, I have a couple of text entry boxes in which I want the data that the user entered to be inserted in every row in the database SQL - in conjunction with the excel data entries. I hope I explained this correctly. Let me give a Visual. Here are the fields of the form:

    FILE LOCATION: [] Browse...
    [TAIL:]
    [INSTALLATION:]
    [DOWNLOAD DATE:]
    [ENTRY DATE:]

The user has access to their file and inserts the rest of form fields. In the background, Coldfusion downloads the file and it then inserts into the SQL database. I need to take the rest of the data entered by the user (TAIL, INSTALLATION, DOWNLOAD DATE, DATE of ENTRY) and add/update on the same lines as the data of the file upload (excel sheet).

I am sure that this would imply a sort of < cfloop >, but not quite sure how to code correctly. Please notify.

Found the solution. I have a will insert my excel data in a line at a time. I went ahead and added the 4 forms of the insert fields and it looped through each line while adding the values in the form. Thanks for your help anyway Westside, much appreciated.

  • How do you set up when TMS purge the information from its database?

    Hi all

I would purge the Pb on my TMS server and cannot find information on how to do it.

My server is encountering the limit of 4 GB for the DB SQL 2005 I have running.  I want to prevent the server from suffocation, so I pulled back the number of days THAT TMS stores for newspapers but he cannot find a way to initiate a purge so the DB can make room for new conferences.

I know what's happening every night at midnight, but I prefer to be able to open the purge now.

Is anyway to do this?  Is there a way to change the default time of calendar purge?

    Thanks for the help,

    Shawn

You cannot manually start the jobs of the TMS product interfaces.  They will work based on the calendar automatically in the background.

To see when they will work, Goto administrative tools-> active and look for the work listed as "purge the data expired in the tables.

BTW, if you upgrade to SQL Express 2008 2012, the database limit is much higher (10 GB).  In addition, support for 2005 will be removed from newer versions of TMS little.

  • How Controlfile SNA remain synchronized after moving the database with the cold backup

    Hello DBAs,

    I doubt that:

Every time you pass a cold backup database. We create a new controlfile with new locations of data/redologs etc.

And then we execute "create controlfile reuse...". noresetlogs...; "to create the controlfile.

    After that, we will open the database as > > alter database open;

    Now the question is:

We are able to open the database without clause "resetlogs.

Here, we create a new controlfile so SNA to controlfile will not be synchronized with the SCN of the datafile and redo the file.

Please let me know how the new controlfiles' SNA is synchronized with the data file and redofile and wea are able to open the database without resetlogs clause.

    Oracle: 11.2.0.4

    OS: Linux

If your cold backup also includes online redo logs, a RESETLOGS is not necessary.

The controlfile is created if it does not have a SNA, it reads the data file headers the YVERT database. For a cold backup, all the headers of data file are consistent.  (This is also the reason why a RECOVERY is not required).

  • Moving oracle data file while the database is broken down

I have a database in montage mode while I restore the last of my data files through rman, which won't be finished for a day and a half, and then there's a mountain of archivelogs to apply. I need to pass the data to another disk files so that I have room to restore this file. I looked around a few instructions, but they are all different. Many of them tell me to stop first of all, the database is not a good option with the restoration goes. More say to use the operating system to copy the file, but a site ignored that. It is even said that I can't log out of my session between saying oracle sql to move the file and open the database. All I get is a list of steps that all take my database work.

Currently, I copy the file to the new destination of Linux, and I'm confused about what my options are and how to get the data file of movement before Oracle is running out of space for my restoration, without doing anything to make things worse. I guess I can just wait for the copy at the end and then run something like "alter rename file ' / old/my_file.dbf ' to ' / new/my_file.dbf '; If I have to cancel the copy for a reason, it is not a big deal, as long as I don't have the space in time.

A quick look, it seems that you should be able to move the data file and to a change of name as you have suggested, as long as you are in editing mode. I hope you have good backup (or an easier way to recover) in case it does not work.

  • TMS upgrade, the OS and DB Migration

    Hello

We currently use TMS 12.6.1 on Server 2003 with SQL 2005, but we intend to move to 13.2 TMS on Server 2008 with SQL 2008. I can't find a specific documentation on the management of OS and DB updates just in place upgrades to MSDS.

Are the steps below for a migration to that action plan we aim the right?

-New server made available with SQL2008 (same host, same IP address, but obviously disconnected name)

-Move tmsng database from the old server to new server.

-Install the TMS 12.6.1 on the new server by selecting a custom installation and specifying the existing database.

-Perform to upgrade in place on the new server to 13.2 TMS.

-Disconnect the old server, connect to the new server.

    Thank you

Yes these steps only seems that you don't need to install 12.6.1. Once the database is moved to the new server, you can install 13.2.1. The installation program will detect the 12.6.1 data bases and update accordingly.

Also remember that when you upgraded, check the settings in MSD since a large part of the old server settings will reside in the database. But you will notice...

    Good luck.

  • The problem with SQL after the migration of the database to another machine

Having a SQL strange problem trying to extract a database being moved from one machine to the other.  Both machines are running SQL 2008 32-bit and are both Windows 2008 servers.  When I try to backup the database using the SQL tools and restore the. BAK file on the new SQL Server, I get the following error:

Restore failed for server 'servername' (Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo)
    Additional information:
System.Data.SqlClient.SqlError: RESTORE detected an error on the page (44:2097184) in database 'RestoreDBName' read from the backup set.

Similarly, when I am trying to copy the. MDF and. LDF files to the new server and tie them, I get the following error:

Attach the database failed for the server 'servername '.
    Additional information:
An exception occurred during the execution of a Transact-SQL statement or batch.
A system assertion failed.  An assertion failure is usually caused by a corruption of data or software bug.  To check the database, consider running DBCC CHECKDB.  If you have agreed to send images to Microsoft during installation, a mini dump will be sent to Microsoft.  An update can be an available from Microsoft in the latest Service Pack or a QFE from Technical Support.
Could not open new database 'NewDatabaseName' create a DATABASE is dropped.
    "" Location: "logmgr.cpp": 3277
    Expression: lfh-> lfh_startOffset is startOffset
    SPID:55
PID: 292876 (Microsoft SQL Server, error: 3624)

Everything I've read, these errors usually indicate some sort of database corruption.  However when I run DBCC CHECKDB on the database on the source server, it is up to perfectly don't own... None detected corruption.  In fact, this server hosts 8 different databases.  Departure from all the correct DB on the source server, none of them will restore however to a new server using one of the methods above.  I'm having a hard time to believe that each of them could be corrupted when they show absolutely no indication of a problem.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Try to make the backup and restore via SQLCMD (or via a query in SQL Server MS window).

The backup will be the following (obviously, change "MaBase" and "D:\BACKUPS" to some database and the location you wish to save - just using for example):

    BACKUP DATABASE MyDatabase

    TO DISK = 'D:\BACKUPS\MyDatabase.bak. '

    WITH NOFORMAT, NOINIT,.

NAME = 'Database MyDatabase - Full Backup',

NOREWIND, NOUNLOAD, STATS = 10, SKIP

Copy your backup to the other server and file make:

    RESTORE the DATABASE to MyDatabase

    FROM DISK = 'E:\Backups\MyDatabase.bak' WITH FILE = 1,

    GO to "MyDatabase_Data" to "E:\SQLDATA\MyDatabase_Data.mdf,"

    GO to "MyDatabase_Log" to "E:\SQLLOG\MyDatabase_Data.ldf,"

    NOUNLOAD, STATS = 10 REPLACE

Again, change your names and locations in function.

If this does not work, try to restore a database by third-party tools. You can find them in Google. If you don't want to spend the time to research, you can try a tool SQL Server Recovery Toolbox. All the details about this program on the link. http://www.oemailrecovery.com/sql_repair.html

  • Manually change the database of Photos?

Is it possible to manually edit the database of Photos?

I was diagnosing a problem that surfaced after initially migrating my library, iPhoto photo some time ago.  It seems that a large number of photos in the iPhoto library had wrong file paths.  The pictures themselves were there, but iPhoto had an error in the paths of files.  (This happened probably years of updates, transfers to different machines, etc.  It is a very old and very large library).

I used a third-party tool 3 to begin to correct the problem in the iPhoto library, and so far, that seems to be promising.  This approach however, kill my library of Photos and re-import to iPhoto.  Which seems a bit risky for me, maybe lose pictures added since the migration (which is not bad), since I'm not really sure how interaction with iCloud will manage this attempt.

But it presents to me unless I am able to inspect and change some of the data that the readers of the library of Photos directly, so maybe I can apply a fix directly without having to re - migrate.  It seems that after the XML files for libraries, but there may be another approach, that I could use to directly modify the photo library?  All I really need to do is change some paths that point to pictures.

Here's a post by user Pascal MaH describing how he managed to modify an iPhoto database.  Maybe you can use the technique to alter a database of Photos.  As usual, don't forget to have a backup current library before you try:

Re: iPhoto 11 referenced library problems

July 27, 2011 16:28 (in response to Terence Devlin)

    YES!

I finally managed to get my iPhoto library!

But it has not been easy. I had to hack into the database file that you want to put in place good things.

After much trial and error, here is the procedure I came to, that finally worked for me (use at your own risk):

0 make sure you do enough safeguards so as to revert to the previous state if something goes wrong!

1 make a copy of your photo library in iPhoto [Show Package Contents]/Database/apdb/Library.apdb on your desktop.

This file contains most of the necessary data for the management of your data in iPhoto.

    2. open this file using a SQLite database manager.

I've used Navicat 9.1, which has features nice import-export. For direct editing, basic 2.0 is may be easier.

    3. open the RKMaster table.

This table contains all the records for the individual photos in your library.

4 fix the path of each of your photo files in the imagePath for their course filepath column.

It contains the path of your photo files at the time they were imported and is not updated by iPhoto, even if you have moved your files photo somewhere else.

If you have thousands of ways to correct, a good idea is to export this column in a text (including column modelId for SEO) file and to correct the paths using the substring function search & replace in your favorite text editor. Do not forget to re - import data properly corrected using column modelId as references.

    5. If necessary, correct, in the same way, the content of the column fileVolumeUuid to the value of the drive that currently contains your picfiles.

If so, get this value given a PIC that was recently imported from this player.

    6. If your drive name has changed, also to correct its name in the name column of the RKVolume table.

Identify the appropriate record taking into account its uuid obtained previously.

    7. If you are satisfied with your work, leave the database, program management and restore Library.apdb to its original inside your iPhoto library location.

Keep the old somewhere in case something goes wrong.

8 run iPhoto to see if your work is successful!

At this point, you might consider the construction of the library (hold down alt - cmd at the launch of iPhoto) and choose repair the iPhoto library database (make sure to let him rebuild the AutoSave iPhoto library database disabled!). This could correct some possible unconsistencies resulting from your changes. Also, a good thing would be to rebuild all thumbnails. If iPhoto don't you do not bug to locate files during this process, you may have done your work right! If this is not the case, go back to step 1.

As said, it worked for me, without visible inconsistencies or side effects to be noticed in the behaviour of iPhoto (at least for now). But perhaps some knowledgable people could comment on and improve this process, and a database script guru can also help automate this. Please comment.

Lessons learned (how I understand things as far as I know):

    A. Library.apdb stores the original drive and the path to the picture at the time files wherever they were imported. It is not changed because the files are moved.

    B. some other data (BLOB Binary?) are used to track the files to their actual location. Therefore, it seems OK to move photo files once they have been imported.

    C. Unfortunately, these other data are broken, if the file is re-created (even with the same content and location), for example with one based on files backup and restore (Time Machine).

    (D) in this case, iPhoto is unable to repair the file if its drive and path does not match the one when the file is imported, stored in the database. Also, there is no mechanism in iPhoto to correct these data.

    (E) therefore, it is very important to import photo files in iPhoto only when they are already in their final location! Otherwise, your iPhoto library won't survive a Time Machine backup and restore! (A disk block-based backup might work... I don't know).

    F. ... And Apple should really, really solve this problem! (Correcting the filepath to the current location of the file and stored at least when the database is repaired, and by offering at least some basic file options reconnection).

I have not tried so I can't confirm or deny its effectiveness.

  • Disable the database on abandonment

    Hello community,

    Using 32-bit Teststand 2014

In a previous post of mine, I asked how do I enable/disable by program the result of database processing. I got my answer and it dealt with altering the sequence file callback «DatabaseOptions» Is there a way to change the setting in my DatabaseOptions during my MainSequence? My reason for this is when the user runs the movie file and decides to abandon during the test based on a selection of message popup. I do want to teststand to process the results to the database when the user cancels the test and proceed to the cleaning. Is there a way to cause Teststand to not write to the database in this scenario?

I'm not sure I follow what is happening here.

Are you still trying to prevent the logging database in the case where you're finished running? What I have described above should do. See the file attached sequence (I tested this out with the sample shipment database).

As to change the ConnectionString property in the callback of LogToDatabase, it is likely not to do that you are pregnant. A new connection is performed only if one does not already exist (even if you change the connection string during execution). If you're really moving from the database that you connect in the middle of a performance, there are ways to go about this, but I wouldn't recommend it if you try only to prevent logging in particular situations. The method I proposed above would be much cleaner to implement.

    Hope this helps,

    Trent

  • BlackBerry Smartphones could not initialize the databases during synchronization of Blackberry Desktop Software

The said software "could not initialize the databases" and does not sync my BB.  This has happened for a week.  I reinstalled the Desktop software, reset to factory settings, restore a backup file, did a hard reboot by removing the battery, tried to synchronize an element (calendar, contacts, tasks, notes), at one time, updated BBM all to nothing does not... Help.

Looking at the synchronization log, he said this...

14:49:29.765 CRSyncUtil::BackupCacheDBs: error copy of the file 'C:\Documents and admin Local Settings Application Data is in Motion\BlackBerry Desktop\XCPCSync.OEM\SyncSDK.209.601\Data\4_65538_PR.tdc' to 'C:\Documents and admin Local Settings Application Data is in Motion\BlackBerry Desktop\XCPCSync.OEM\SyncSDK.209.601\Data\4_65538_PR.tdc.sav': 0 x 00000070 (there is not enough space on the disk.)

I looked at this file and at the time I started to get into trouble.  It was enormous... I have moved out of the directory and tried to re-sync.  It worked!
