  • How can I add MUIs for my laptop?

    Hello.

I have standard Windows Vista on my laptop and said I need to download an additional MUI in order to have the Japanese feature. Help Windows said I should see these MUIs in Windows Updates, but until there was nothing. I read on another answer you can have 1 MUI on some versions of Vista. If this is true, how to get to get the Japanese text on my machine? I should add that I won't change my entire operating system to the Japanese that I have barely begun to learn and become more confused if that happened.

    Completely lost! Help, please.

  • Chinese becomes the language of the system after installing the Chinese MUI

I have a Vista Ultimate en version. It has been upgraded to a Vista Home preinstalled. I downloaded and installed the Chinese MUI and choose the display language. I also installed Service Pack 2. Recently, I get a Windows 7 complete edition of Microsoft and try to upgrade my Vista Ultimate again. But this time, it fails because of the incompatibility of the language. I try to choose English as the display language and find that my system uses Chinese as a language system (default language of the user interface). I can't remove the Chinese. Worse still, I have to download English MUI to replace the Chinese.

Do you know how to fix this so that I can upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate?

Thank you. I ended up doing a clean install of Windows 7.

  • German MUI will not be installed

    Hello guys,.
I installed sp2 on my laptop and you want to install now the German MUI, it is offered in the section update for me, when I chose to install it, it makes me to the screen: http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/626/errortzs.th.jpg I do not know what hurt me because sp2 must be able to support German! Thanks for the help in advance!

One of the five available languages for SP2 must be installed before SP2 so that they can operate at this stage.

I expect they will be be unlocked on WU when other languages are made available for this.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/947875/en-us

Your only options are to wait until it shows on WU for SP2 or uninstall SP2 install German to install SP2 again.

Personally, I would do the SP2 uninstall and install German now.  The longer you wait the more hassle it can become for you to uninsatll SP2, and then reinstall everything you have installed after him.

    keimanzero,

Comcast of Norton Security Suite version is installed? If Yes, who and perhaps malware is most likely to cause questions you have published, in particular the failure of the restoration of the system.
First, configure the system to boot - How to solve a problem by performing a boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
NOTE: Start-up mode minimum state all the 3rd party firewalls will be disabled. Open Control Panel > Windows Firewall to make sure that the native firewall of Windows 7 is now on.

Download and Save the update system (or CheckSUR) tool. You will need to download the specific Version of CheckSUR corresponding to the architecture of the system to Windows 7. If you do not know the architecture of the system, and then click the link that says "Click here to show or hide the instructions step by step with images" under method 2: download the update directly system preparation tool from Microsoft Download Center .
Description of the preparation tool system update for Windows Vista for Windows Server 2008, for Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2

Once the download is complete, close all open programs and browsers. Now, run CheckSUR with the system connected to the internet because it will download the .cab for system files. Reboot once CheckSUR is complete.

Secondly, I suggest that you run the File Checker system while in the same clean boot state.
To run the System File Checker tool, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start and type cmd in the field search programs and files .
    2. Right click on cmd.exe in the programs of list, and then choose 'run as administrator '.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.
    3. At the command prompt, enter the following line exactly as written including the space between thec and the/and then press ENTER:
      sfc/scannow

When the analysis is complete, test to see if the problems facing the system have been resolved.

If they are not, you will need to contact Norton support for the version of Norton Internet Security Comcast to get help, or just uninstall NIS, run the Norton removal tool (right click Norton_Removal_Tool.exe, choose "Run as Administrator"), reboot and then check to see if the problems are still occurring.

  • Remote Desktop error: the system cannot find the specified file. C:\WINDOWS\system32\ < LANG_NAME > \mstsc.exe.MUI

Came across an interesting problem this morning. After starting my PC from various applications (OutLook 2002, Management Studio of SQL Server 2008, etc.). I was able to connect to a server by using Remote Desktop (RDP, alias). On trying to connect to a second system, I started getting the following error message:

The system cannot find the specified file. C:\WINDOWS\system32\\mstsc.exe.MUI

Will always be connected to the server, I tried to launch a second instance using RDP, but received the same error message.

I googled the error and found different solutions (the best solution to examine ishttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/itproxpsp/thread/164d1e0b-51e6-4201-9dc2-3f4a0ccb14e5), however, none of the solutions seemed to work.

I tried checking the virus/malware, etc, but nothing was found. I tried to re - load the dll and the exe (s), but still not received the error message.

The next solution was to try to see what can be changed on my system (new programs, etc.). I noticed there is an update downloaded to my system (C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log): AutomaticUpdates content success install successful and Restart required for the following update: update for Windows XP (KB969084)... the update is related to remote desktop.

I rebooted the system, still not received the RDP error messages. Is I did a complete "install updates and shut down ', and then restarted my system that started working again.

For the record, here is some information on my system:

    XP Professional: Version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.091208 - 2036: Service Pack 3)

    c:\windows\system32\mstsc.exe: 6.1.7600.16385

  • MUI cache problem

I use WinXP SP3 and keep up-to-date on all critical updates. Lately, I've noticed that institutionalized my computer slows down significantly. When it does I have run Norton Utilities and check the regestry. When I do, the MUI cache is always appear as missing or invalid. I then Norton Utilities fix this and other problems that come up. After the correction, my computer returned to run at its normal speed. I have a good idea of preety what is the MUI cache, but I don't understand why it keeps going missing or invalid.

Norton is probably the reason why your system is running slowly - it's knowledge that memory and CPU hog, I will never install or recommend for this reason alone and suggest you to consider something with a smaller footprint and less fresh generals like Microsoft Security Essentials and complete it with the free version of MBAM and SAS.  Your sytem will reward you with much better performance.

I appreciate the fact that some people love their Norton/Symantec products, but they will slow down your system.

If you look in the forums of Norton on your question, you might meet this opinion of Eric Carlstrom, a technical product manager for Norton/Symantec employee:

If you do the repair and the same item appears in later analysis, it is probably due to a transitional reference.  Unfortunately, it is very difficult to take into account.  When this happens, it of OK to click with the right button on the item, and then choose ignore during future scans.

I can tell you that advice from the Support Engineer to run sfc /sannow will not help you and you don't have symptoms suggestive of a need to run sfc/scannow.  This isn't how it works, this isn't what he does and is not what it is for.   To me, this idea out of the blue with no symptoms indicating that it is necessary, means "I don't know what the problem is or how to fix.  It's just another one of there Support Engineer goose chases wild.

If you chose to replace your Norton with MSE, be sure to use the Norton removal and uninstall tools that you can find here:
    https://www-secure.Symantec.com/Norton-support/JSP/help-solutions.jsp?LG=English&CT=United+States&docid=20080710133834EN&product=home&version=1&PVID=f-home

Give a MSE and see how your system behaves.  If you find that you will not care for it, you can uninstall and reinstall your Norton new, right?

Please help me.  Thanks in advance.

    Hello

It seems that there are a few system files that have trouble.  One of them being mstsc.exe, I wish you find spyware or infection by the virus first, before you try the next step.  Please see the sticky thread in the security forum.  MVP offers some good advice how to remove these problems.

    http://social.answers.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/vistasecurity/thread/fa30853d-719a-4265-9e7b-9287567d31e3

If everything is clean, we will try a repair installation to replace the problem files and also to ensure that other system files are good.

The 'repair' installation (upgrade on-site) will not affect your installed programs or data.  Just make sure that you are already connected to your computer when you start the installation.  Do not boot from the DVD.

If the installation does not start automatically when you insert the DVD, run setup.exe from your DVD player.

    • When the Setup program starts and the install now screen, click install now.
    • Note When you receive the important Get updates for installation message, click go online.
    • Click upgrade when the which type of installation you want? appears

Please let us know if this solves the problem for you.
