MX710 - I can print but can't scan

I just got a new Mac and can't figure out how to configure scanning.  I use MP Navigator EX scanner and it does not recognize the scanner.  Wireless printing works fine however.

It shows Canon MX710 tab Printers/Scanners, but hangs there when I try to scan from this application.

I'm sure it's something 'order of installing the drivers', but I can't seem to understand this.

Any help is appreciated.

I found the solution:

In the software MP Navigator MX, click on Preferences and in the name of the product drop-down, select "MX710 series network" rather than "MX710 series.

    Select manage the Scan of the computer
    Click Enable-

    You can start automatically with Windows, BUT you will get an arror message if you turn on the computer FRONT of the printer.

    Very well printing - scanning fails in both directions, of PC to the printer and the printer to the PC.

    No form of works-y PC using the HP device Page or print and Scan doctor.  All two see the printer but when they try to connect give the message error «scanner communication can not be establshed...» »

    If you go to the printer itself and try a "Scan to PC" the printer sees name of the PC, but when you click Scan an error message comes up saying "no computer connected.

    Having exhausted all the recommended solutions: uninstall and reinstall the drivers. Run Selective startup without any service has been activated; Print and Scan Doctor (tells me that there is a problem of TWAIN, but even then gives error "can' communications Scanner...", even after the PC reboot and repeat the doctor P & s); restart the router method.

    The only method of scanning that work which means the network is scanning to E-mail.

    Any ideas?

    I see that you encounter some problems with the scanning of your 7520 Photosmart e-all-in-one printer to your PC for Windows 10 and that the printing and scanning doctor detects a problem with your TWAIN drivers. As TWAIN drivers refer to a component of the operating system, the only things I can suggest are updates or perform a system restore. In addition, I suggest contacting the one who sold you the PC or the Microsoft.

    I recently bought a desktop computer and it fines the printer without a problem and I printed.

    How to scan?

    On my laptop, I have the HP Solution Center, and that's where I control the scanning from. I downloaded the software from this site and installed on my desktop, but it does not install solution Center, so I can't scan.

    I have Windows 7 on the desktop.

    It would be much appreciated to help explain how to interact with the scanner.

    Try scanning from an application. MS Office Word is a. Here, it is how to do it. You need to install the imagery of Microsoft Office documents.

  • My env5330 prints but will not scan.

    I have Windows Vista as operating system. I can't scan by clicking on the scan button, or selecting the scan from the HP 5330 software on my computer menu.

    When I click Scan on the printer control panel and select computer, it says that without a computer.  However, I can print from my computer.

    I have updated the software want 5330.

    I can print from the computer and printed a diagnostic sheet using 5330.

Although the following document said 'this paper focuses on the series of e-all-in-one printer Photosmart 7510 (C311)' it applies also to your printer and generally, most of the printers. Please complete the solutions offered and allow to know the results of your efforts. Can not scan to the computer.

  • HP Officejet 6500 a E710n-z: HP 6500 printer scanner prints but does not scan

    Since my OS has been upgraded to Windows 8.1 the printer scanner prints (very slowly) but does not scan!

    I tried HP Print and Scan doctor, he worked once (clumsily) but not since. I tried Windows ' whatener it is called "but nothing.  It was working perfectly since I the printer scanner.   Now I don't NOTHING DO let's me scan.  and the fix message tells me that my WPA security password is not quite valid (nothing has changed here!)

    I checked the internet, it seems that a lot of people have the same problem.  I don't know if anyone has fixed it.  The so-called solutions are not very easy to follow!  Just as they do not work.

    Try the methods.

    Method 1:

    You can use try scanner installation by manually adding in devices and printers and check if this can help, solve you the problem.

    To add the device manually, follow the steps below:

    1. Click Start and click on Control Panel.

    2. Select display large icons.

    3. Select the devices and printers.

    4. click Add a device and follow the instructions to install the scanner.

    Method 2:

    I suggest to run the tool and troubleshooting hardware devices and check if that helps.

    doesn't look like canon has a printer that takes in charge the newer versions of Mac OS x, if I were you I would take contact them to see if they plan on support of new versions, apple made no drivers for the hardware they don't and if hardware manufacturers does not provide a working driver head can group with the new version of Mac OS x We have to rely on manufacturing to have a download on their page

    I'm afraid that the specific model, as a former model, only provided woth print drivers and no longer support scanning from Mac OS X 10.5, as you can find below:

    To activate the scan of the computer, see the procedure below:

    Restart devices and check the settings of scanning driver

    Restart the computer and the printer can restore the connection scan options analysis, and then check the settings for scanning on the Mac.

    1. Turn the printer off.

    2. Make sure that the printer power cord connects directly to an electrical outlet and not by a limiter the power strip or surge protector.

    3. Close all programs currently running on your computer, and then shut down the computer.

    4. Turn on the printer.

    5. Turn on the computer.

    6. On the desktop, double-click Macintosh HD, click Applications, click the Hewlett-Packard or HP folder, and then double-click the HP utility.

      NOTE: If the HP utility is not in the folder, go to the step install the software for your printer HP.

    7. Under scan settings, click Scan of the computer, and then make sure the enable scanning to computer checkbox is selected.

    8. Try to scan.

    If the error persists, proceed to the next step.

    You have the OCR program installed?

    In the digitization, if you have the disc that came with the printer, and then insert the floppy disk to the printer and keep it from running. Go to my computer and double-click it. Locate the drive that contains the disk Dell inside. Right-click on it, left click Explore. Find the folder of the OCR. In the OCR folder, there is a folder of Abbyy. Right click on setup.exe, which is located in the folder Abbyy and left, click Run as administrator. This will install the OCR program.

    I see that you both scan problems after upgrade to Windows 10, and I may be able to help.

    Most of the products have updated software available on the HP support Web site for Windows 10.

    I also saw a few posts that say Windows 8.1 driver works for Windows 10 as well, then you could try also.

    HP provides a free tool called HP Print and Scan doctor to diagnose and troubleshoot printing and scanning problems. I recommend you to download and run the HP print and Scan Doctor , if she doesn't fix it automatically I would know what errors or messages that you receive.

    Do you know if you are able to scan using paint?

    (This is the same for Windows 10, of what I said)

    1. Click the Start button () in the lower left corner of the screen, click on Searchand type Paint.
    2. Click on the painting in the results.
    3. Click fileand then click on from a scanner or camera.
    4. Select your printer, click OK, and then click Scan.

  • Very frustrated! Can print but cannot scan

    HI -.

    I have a PC with Vista and a C4280 all-in-one.  No problem printing, but it behaves as if there is no connection between the printer and the scanner when I try to scan.  I can't even open the HP Solution Center.  When I do I get the error: No. HP devices have been detected.  HP Solution Center will be closed.

    I did research on what to do and I tried to uninstall, then reinstall the driver, disconnect all cables and usb.  I know I'm not the only one who has this problem, but none so I see a ton of questions about topics I read enabled.

    Don't mean to be grumpy, but I am VERY FRUSTATRED!  Can anyone help?  Thanks a lot if you have any ideas.
